Booked an early appointment with Tonia because my kids father was coming from out of town. Appointment is at 8. She texts me at 7:30 asking if I could come earlier. Got there about ten minutes early. We showed her the styles and she gave us the prices. When we found out it was more expensive to get knotless, we changed it to box braids and the pic we showed her were big braids. Told me it should take about four hours.Its 12, now 1. I texted why it was taking so long. Didnt text me back until almost midnight. My daughter told me they were on the phone, eating, taking hr breaks. Guess what time my babies got out of there? Damn near 5 pm. The whole day gone from spending time with him and in short, they dont gaf about your time. Good job on the hair, Ill give them that but she did knotless and they were small! And we told her we didnt want it.If you want to go to a braider that respects your time, do NOT go here. I feel they did that because my kids were there without their mom. Had I been there, it would have been done on time LIKE THEY SAID IT WOULD! I can see an HR over but 5 hours over?You dont deserve a tip. I thought they had better reviews but I see people having the same issue with them not respecting time as if we have time to be there all day. Kick rocks, you and your whole crew.

I have been going to Tonia for the past 4 years. After chemotherapy and my hair growing back Tonia has taken very good care of my hair. My hair has grown back thicker and stronger than ever. I dont care what salon you go to for braids it will take some time. I always get compliments when I leave Absolute Braiding.

Yesterday was my first time shopping here and the experience was great. Small, cute little place with a good selection of products and decent prices. It didn’t take long to find what I wanted unlike other places so I guess smaller is better. Sadly, I think I witnessed a theft situation which got out of control. I hope everyone is ok. I’ll just say don’t go here trying to steal they definitely protect what’s theirs👊 as they should!

This is the worst hair braiding place. I have ever seen. I made an appointment this morning and the owner told me to come she has no customers and when I arrived she says can you come back later Im busy. She told me she have no worker etc....this is the second time she did this. They Very rude and unprofessional. Make you feel very uncomfortable. I will never come back to this place again. The worst customer service I have ever seen. Just money hungry. GOD DONT LIKE UGLY

Received many compliments on my hair. However, the professionalism, customer service and cleanliness of the shop is bad. Not sure how they rated so well on google. Braider was rude and tried to increase the price after my hair was completed the first visit (because I had thicker hair, so it took longer) and on the 2nd visit, she tried to charge half price of original style to touch up barely 1/3 of my twists that she made me take down myself in the shop.

I wish we could leave a 0! The worker was doing my daughters hair and she made it look like a mess. She was pulling her hair and the floor was extremely dirty! She made us wait for 40 minutes just for her not to get her hair done. The rubber bands she was using already had hair on them it’s like somebody used it before!

Toni was amazing. The shop is cute, clean & well stocked. Toni communicated and worked miracles for my hair styles. Ill be back, and Im loving my braids

Love this place I have been going here for 3 years now. This is the only braiding shop I will go to. If I bring a photo my hair looks exactly like what I wanted. It’s quality braids. Tonia makes sure everything is perfect before you leave.

I called to get a price to get my 2 daughters hair braided. She asks me their age then proceeded to tell me they are too young and wont sit. They are 5 and 6. I explained they have had it before, in fact I just took knotless braids out their hair. She asked me how much I paid the other time and when I told her she said oh no like that was a problem. I asked for her price not someone else. She was rude and very unprofessional. I was looking for a salon to consistently take them to. She can forget it, I wish I would.

I tried another place after going without a braid style for about a year. Let’s just say it is like night and day. Super pleased with my passion twists which allow me to look professional and wear it up in a bun, exercise including running and cycling with a helmet and still looking fabulous without lots of work. The salon does not cater to children at all. The stylist and I argued the entire time, she seemed aggravated at my young children. Everything about this appointment was a disappointing. My youngest daughter didnt get her hair done due to the stylists frustration. The oldest daughter hair is okay, however I would expect better for $125.00. FYi: beads are an extra cost. Disappointed customer...

Im sorry I have never been here, and I understand maybe my word wont matter. But these responses from the owner are very rude, if thats how you really react and make fun and tell us to get implants to make ourselves feel better and more confident you arent helping with that at all. You are just rude and very unprofessional and your comments make me never want to step foot in your shop. Im in customer service myself and you have to hold your tongue even if you arent wrong. Came here on a Thursday night. She closed at 9pm which is awesome since I have a full time job. I don’t always like getting my hair done on the weekend in general. I came in for crochet passion twists. I have a lot of hair with thick roots. She blow dried it like a trooper. I recommend coming with your hair properly detangled and blown out. It will make the process go a lot faster. She’s a braider, remember that. She added hair to my hairs in the front when she cornrowed, which was much appreciated. It helped because the cornrows weren’t left feeling tight and tugging on to my hairs in the front. In addition, she used an adequate amount of hair on my head. My head didn’t feel heavy or like a huge pillow. She also didn’t use a slew of random products in my hair while braiding. Finally, my whole hair process took about 2 hours and she didn’t braid my hair super tight, NOT BAD AT ALL! We joked around and she has a nice personality. I will definitely be going back for some kinky twists or box braids.

REALLY disappointed...if I call to see about pricing for Two-Strand Twists, I would expect the person who is assigned to my hair KNOWS how to do this style, but that wasnt the case. After sitting in my chair the owner showed my stylist how to do my twists and from there I had to keep checking my hair. If I am charged the full price, my head shouldnt be used as a training experience. When I came home and really inspected my scalp the lack of clean lines and hair sections really made the whole experience more disappointing. I may not have spent hundreds of dollars on my hair, but a neat hairstyle should always be the end result. The only reason I gave 2 stars is my stylist did her best for her first time, but again, my hair isnt a training opportunity. Ive been getting my hair twisted for years and wanted to patronize a shop on the north side, but I wont be visiting this one again.Also, make sure you bring cash, they take cards but gouge you on the processing fee.

THE OWNER IS RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!I got some braids here 2 months ago. I called them to get a price on taking them down and to reschedule an appointment for Sunday to get some more braids. The lady that answered the phone was so rude. I told here i will spend my $300.00 ELSEWHERE!!!

Hair style didn’t last two weeks

I took my daughter there at the end of February and she just took her hair down yesterday. They did and exceptional job on her hair and her edges were fully in tact. The price was great as well.

The owner is a perfectionist! You will not leave her chair until your hair is perfect. Great customer service, friendly, affordable and takes pride in what she do. My hair is very healthy and looks beautiful. I simply love this salon.

I started with Tonia at Braids of Beauty when I wore dreads two years ago. She has done an amazing job helping me to make the transition back to my hairs natural state (without dreads). First time experience: The owner treated me very well and i was very appreciative of her respecting my appointment time unlike other salons Ive experienced. Along with her other braiders i was out in record time. Im also very happy that my hair was not braided super tight. As far as the price is concerned it was higher than what im used to paying for the same style but i got the quality i paid for.
