Nice local store prices are cheaper than Schnucks and Dierbergs everything is not name brand but have a good selection of items to buy for your household

Genuinely unsure if anyone works here. Every time Ive gone in Ive had to leave without my items after standing at the registers for up to 20 min. I walked around the store and called to see if anyone was there and Ive never gotten an answer. I dont think I can be convinced this place has employees.

Its a grocery store. Hes one of the cheaper grocery store but I like itbetter than rulers or Aldis because it has their own meat department and their meat theres usually really good

Always have all the smoked meats I use in cooking and fresh greens.

It has lower price products, they for most is of great quality. I shop there on a monthly time frame. I am on Social security and a small pension. I eat good quality meat products and they have both fresh and frozen vegetables. They all a lot of fresh meat also milk n dairy. I did not get this review till I got home. The store is well organized and clean. It is a older building but it is kept up. SORRY ABOUT NO PHOTOS. I DEPEND ON THE BUS FOR TRANSPORTATION.

Save a lot of a little extra work for a few bucks less in an ideal layout for employees to assist as little as possible. But the bacon box worth it.

I love save a lot. My only complaint today was that they had Chow Me in, but no crunchy noodles to go with it. And out wasnt that much cheaper.

Friendly service, not a good selection of groceries

Google is asking me to review this store because my GPS registered me being there. In reality I pulled over to make a phone call and never actually went into the store. So my review will be for the parking lot I guess. The parking lot was a lovely escape from the bustling highway, with generous views and mediocre paving. My only real complaint would be, in a square parking lot, why is the entrance like a slalom course without cones?

Picked up some nice looking ribeye steaks at the lowest price in town.

I buy bottled water there. Its filtered by reverse osmosis. Thats one of the best filtrations.

The quality of Save A Lot products has improved a good deal. Would like to see more organic options though. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great prices. May not always have everything you need but still a good place to shop.

Very minimal product, coin shopping carts, bring own bags, very tiny dirty restroom, the only one employee I did see (cashier) was friendly

This was my first time in a Save A Lot in years. I was happy to see everything was well stocked and the aisles were clutter free. Employees were very friendly and helpful as well. Parking was not an issue and the lot was pretty clean too. Ill definitely be shopping here more often!

Never busy enough, making it the absolute easiest place to shop grocery in Alton. A tiny tiny bit more expensive than its Aldi neighbor, but worth the visit. Nothing bad to say about it.

Very nice smaller discount grocery store. It is a no nonsense grocery store without a lot of clutter. They have a good variety of fresh food. And if they are sold out on a ad item they will issue a raincheck. The people there are very helpful and friendly. They have a large parking lot. Highly recommend.

Some of their groceries are higher than Aldis. Couldnt find minced garlic, Kelloggs All Bran or ham hocks. Had to settle for Smoked pork hocks.

Savalot has cuts of meat you dont find everywhere. I enjoy classic French cooking, Persian cuisine, and authentic Mexican food of Oaxaca, Puebla, and Ciudad DF styles. I can find beef neck bones, beef shank, tongue, oxtail, jowl bacon, rind on bacon, tripe, and pork boneless country style ribs, pork neck bones here, that Id otherwise have to go to a butcher or meat shop in the city for.

Went after work to try to do my shopping. When I got there had to use the restroom. First took a minute to find the restroom. You have to go into the back of the store once in the back you have to wander around till you find it. Once I found it I slowly turned the door knob testing to see if it was locked but turned all the way and open. Once open I find an employee using the restroom and the door was not lock or did not work to lock. Frustrated from the day I turn around and left. BEWARE if you visit this location with kids that may have to use the restroom dont know if it was laziness on the employee or if the door did not lock but i will never chance it again myself or with kids.

They have remodeled the store I think it does flow a little better usually have a good value on meat so you can buy and break it down for several meals and the steaks are usually decent price and look good they have a variety of name brand and off brand

I go here now sometimes since Shop n Save closed. Sometimes they do have good sales on their meat. They are about the only reasonable priced grocery store left around my area now because I dont do Schnucks they are just too expensive for me and they are right next door to Aldis so that makes it convenient. And they do sell popcorn in the bag that you have to pop on the stove which is very important to me because I Love popcorn at you have to pop on the stove.Just remember you have to take your own bags or you have to buy bags like you would at Aldis. Oh and now they just started where you have to put the quarter in the carts now just like Aldis. I dont know when theystarted that one because I hadnt been there in a while I just went out there last week and I had to use a quarter so whatever. I dont care as long as I can get it cheaper than I can somewhere else since Im on a really tight budget.

I love Sav A Lot. They had a DJ playing music for a celebration which is great but the music was so loud I couldnt wait to get out of there. Normally I have very positive experience.

Always apparently good experience. there is a fairly new employee kind of a heavyset gal with a ponytail that walks around acting like youre doing something and does nothing but complain. Other than that it was positive.

This place is so organized easy to find whatever your looking for, also the meat here is a good buy.

They moved a lot around. Honestly it looks like they are closing. They were out of a lot of things I came in for that was in their add. It was also hard to find someone to ask if they had more meat in the back. I was very disappointed. I think I will continue to shop at Aldis and schnucks.
