This is the 3rd time here in the last 2 weeks, as this is a fuel stop for our company. This is the 3rd chance I’ve given to the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, 2nd chance on the green beans.Let’s start with the biggest issue.NO SOAP IN THE BATHROOM!!!Now to the food:Meatloaf for the 3rd time was over cooked, dried out and chewable like leather.Mashed taters, while butter soaked, they weren’t anything other than water.Green beans, pretty sure they have been out since before lunch, maybe even a reheat from yesterday? They were complete mush, stab them with a fork and they slide right off. Chewable? Not at all, do you have dentures?? These are perfect just swallow, and no worries, but they are flavorless even though they have something sprinkled on them.I will use this as a fuel stop and go down the road from now on. 3rd strike your out!30 minute later follow up:The food was so bad, the dog wouldn’t touch it either. He sniffed it then laid back down.
These are older fuel stops. This is one of the better ones. Fairly crowded, hard to get to the fuel Island. Restaurant is good.
This place has gone down hill from my last visit here. I took a shower and the water couldnt make up its mind as to what temperature to throw out cold, warm, hot, and repeat cycle. I asked for quarters for the laundry, they said no, there is a coin shortage. If I am not mistaken, they are their machines, they would get the quarters right back. However, lucky the machines take debit card which neither cashier obviously knew or they would have told me. Washer $2.75 Dryer $2.75. I would think at $2.75 for a dryer on high heat with 3 sets of clothes they would come out dry. Nope, completely damp.. and I am definitely not going to put in another $2.75. Nice lot to sleep in, but as far as needing to do anything else.. I would be cautious.
Four people in line for shower, three ready for cleaning. Four employees that I could count. Needs better management because I cant say how many times Ive cancelled my shower and subsequently didnt spend any money in this store because of this. Clean the showers, its s not rocket science. If I leave because I dont have luxury of waiting hour while your employees ignore dirty showers you get no money from me.
Don’t go here they scammed me with an extra charge of $151 on my credit card 💳on top of the $52 of gas I paid for.! I paid at the pump so be very careful and avoid this place. After reading other reviews it sounds like it’s a common problem here
No showers for the 4th of July weekend! They claim plumbing issues. Due to a power outage earlier in the week. No showers for days. But the restrooms have water? I call BS! Basically their system to organize a show is down so instead of free showers for drivers, NO showers!
As of late this store has went downhill. There are potholes in the parking lot that could damage your vehicle and they are located directly behind the front parking spaces. The coolers look sparse, as the drinks arent stocked properly or they are not being pulled forward. The crushed ice machine never works. The showers were down due to plumbing issues and in the summer the air conditioning doesnt work properly, customers and employees have to suffer the heat. Sometimes there are burritos in the morning, sometimes theyre not. Not very consistent. Often times out of basic products due to not getting them in. I just feel like this particular Flying J needs attention, it has been neglected. On a more positive note the employees are very nice people.
Stay clear of this place. Had trouble with my fuel card at fuel desk. Paid for fuel at the pump. Supposedly, my card had reached its daily limit. My boss offered to simply pay for the fuel on the phone with his debit card, as he was 1000 miles away. They made a huge mess of the whole situation. After having to do a cash advance, (and yes they charged me for this!), I get down the road and call fuel card company. My limit had not been reached and there was a charge on my card for fuel! It turns out, it was their system! I will never be back here! Avoid this place like the plaque.
The plane Js is very awesome opportunity to spend some time in the Dennys thats attached to this location after a long night on the road me my wife out of awesome time especially with the young gentleman who was the waiter there cater to us extremely I cant even mark about his service it was impeccable not to mention the restrooms the restrooms were Immaculate very clean to sit down on very clean the wash up brush your teeth even might have to do it long site some truckers but hey theres nothing wrong with this I appreciate flying J for keeping their establishment hospitable and also being kind of tired and weary drivers offering help as far as locating items that might be needed for the road trip thanks guys awesome work cant wait to see you again
Shower 7 had little to no hot water, barely warm, no pressure at all. 50 minute wait. Looked like the shower guy was overwhelmed with work- showers, trash, cleaning bathrooms. Then finally someone was helping him.
This place supposedly fills propane tanks but no one is ever available to do it. Tried three times and was told twice that no one was certified. Also noted a sign advertising 15.00 haircuts. Nothing wrong with that but this place prepares and sells food.
WATCH OUT for the metal pipe and bolt sticking out of the ground at the frontage road entrance. We caught the edge of the bolt with our rear passenger side tire. Instant flat. Other hefty dents in the pipe so we werent the first to catch a tire or rim on it.To the business owners: please mark the pipe somehow. Our flat tire got us stuck in Amarillo overnight on Christmas.Your employee was very polite, and the place was spotless. I will gladly update my review to a 5 star when something is done about the pipe.
Such a horrible experience! Out of coffee! Out of creamer and SUPER RUDE cashiers. I needed change because my tire pressure warning light came on and the machine needed $1.50 in quarters only. They refused to give me change, so I had to ask a stranger.
Flying J in Amarillo, TX, Interstate 40 off exit 76. If youre driving a Class A do not use the left hand RV lane if you have a TOAD. The downward slope of the street combined with the upward slope of the entrance into the RV lane results in your tow bar bottoming out. Ours dragged so severely it bent the steel channel supports where our hitch bolts to the RV chassis. The entrance to this lane is narrow with curbs on both sides which precludes entering at an angle to prevent bottoming out. We spoke to Flying J corporate and were informed that it was within specifications and therefore they would not pay for the damages and would do nothing to the entrance to improve the situation. If you must use this Flying J, use the right RV lane.
Creepy male kid followed me around the store. Made the experience uncomfortable
Spent a 34 here and the employees inside the store were all really nice. No complaints, we were even picked up in a limo and brought down the road to the big Texan for a steak dinner. 👍👍👍👍
Cashier is rude. Lazy and a smartelic bossy demanding AH
The most rudest employees including the manager Stephanie, manager and employees accuse me of not having credit on the lotto machine when it clearly showed on the machine they refuse me from buying more lottery tickets from machine beacuse manager refuse to get up from chair to refund my money. There was one employee who used hard tone voice threathing to kick me out of the store without lostenong to me as I was trying to tell her my money was stuck on the machine she invaded my personnel space without wearing a mask and began to aggresively escalting the situation instead of resolving the problem in hand. What was the most appauling is that the manager just sat in her office and let this happen.
Store is well stocked. Staff was helpful. Ended up spending the night in their large, quiet parking lot. If Highway sounds keep you awake, youre obviously in the wrong business :-).Woke up to helicopter-like sounds.....looked out the window and took a pic of what was making it...posting that here as well. Have a great day, all!
Guess I’ll start at the beginning. Fuel pump keypad wouldn’t work. Every time I tried to hit “0”, it started over. I could’ve walked inside, but figured they didn’t need my $400 that bad. Parked the truck and went inside to take a shower. Looks to be newly remodeled. The mildew hadn’t even had time to grow yet. The fly in the buttermilk is that the smell reminded me of my old football days. No reason that a freshly remodeled bathroom should smell like a sweaty jock strap. You could tell by the accumulated dust on the walls that it had been a while since they were wiped clean. I would also wonder how often the floor is mopped as well. C’mon management; take some responsibility here. I hate to see a wonderful investment not being taken care of. I will say that the water pressure is great though. I grabbed a couple slices of pizza on the way out and a jug of water from the cooler. The pizza was better than average and the water wasn’t cold. The CSR at the register was friendly. I know this is long, but I hope that management and/or corporate reads this. Definitely needs some accountability and oversight here. Been stopping here for 15 years, but will likely bypass next time.
Couldnt ask for better, clean restroom, well stocked shelves. Nice people, and this particular truck stop, has a breakfast buffet this was especially good for me.I have added this stop to my GPS that didnt know it was here... I have a Rand McNally pro 8 that is new. And Rand McNally dont seem to update important stuff... Glad I stopped here...
If you plan to have a shower after midnight you are not going to get it, it’s my second time that I come to this place at midnight for a shower cause during the day the wait list +7 and they put the same Paper sign that says “showers are down due to pumping” so do not count with this guys for that
The Texas Panhandle and the Flying J. Not a bad match for an overnighter. Wake up late and go see if you can kill a 72oz Steak at lunch for free just down the road. Never had a problem finding parking but if you do youve got another Flying J down the road and a TA too, with a Popeyes if youre looking for some Itis and want to change the oil in your ZZ Top beard.
Posters state Face Masks REQUIRED For Entry. Yet nobody cares. People are running around without masks and nobody says a word.Clean shower but used wash cloth from the previous person was still there, so that’s proof it wasn’t desinfected thoroughly.2 stars for carelessness while the nation is going through the 7th month of a very dangerous pandemic. Professional drivers are essential. You’re putting us at risk, there’s no excuse for it.
Very busy truck stop has a Dennys on the way to the Amarillo International Airport and I40 Amarillo Texas
I love the Flying J travel centers! They are the BEST! Believe me....I travel nurse all over the country and have been to every travel center company. Flying J, IS the best and their prices on fuel, food, drinks, showers...etc., is way less expensive then other travel centers. And their bathrooms are spotless And well stocked! And Flying J has more selection, of items and food selections. I, now, never stop at any other travel center, I only patron the Flying J & Pilot travel centers....they are owned by the same parent company. I highly recommend the Flying J travel centers!
Billie May is an amazing worker! She is friendly, helpful and can handle multiple issues at one time without losing her cool. Definitely deserving of a promotion. Thank you Billie May.
Busy place but they have their own food for sale so you dont have To go to the restaurant for basic food. Restrooms clean. Get their rewards card. Hot tea options and sweet tea-just one option. Sweet was the only option even though dispenser was labeled non sweet. Overall, I stop here when Im in town as it is a clean location and safe. It is hard to get in and out off but thankfully the road leading to the airport isnt too busy.
In over the weekend. This place going down hill. 1/2 diesel pumps out of order, showers not working. Bathrooms very dirty.
Buzy showers! there is Dennys restruant: to go or eat.
Dirty, dirty, dirty. Oh, did I say it was dirty. I sometimes I think this must be a cattle feed lot by the filth around both outside, on the fuel islands, inside the restrooms, inside the showers, and at the soft drink and coffee machines. Cattle dont have a choice where to eat but we as paying customers do, and we exercise that choice. Yes, I realize some other customers are pigs but the rest of us like to go to get things at CLEAN businesses. I think we are paying for customer service that would include a clean business.Think about it. If you would have an extra employee or two on a shift you could move customers through your store faster and happier and they would be willing to come back. They could keep the food areas clean and presentable to your customers. The business that have the cleanest facilities have the best customer return rate of their competitors.
There was a cockroach running around inside the shower area. Told management. I dont think there gonna do anything about it. Workers look like they dont want to do anything bout anything you tell them. They seems like people wont address anything at all. Also western union doesnt work here at this flying j at all.
Wasted parking space. The 2 back rows needs to angle, cant use around 40 spaces. Showers were awesome, people were really friendly, would actually talk and kid around with you. Dennys was good, usually not when attached to a truck stop.
A big shout out for Linda for being so kind in assisting me with car issues to get me back on the road. Your kindness meant a ton! Didnt get her last name but from Ohio. Thanks Linda!
I been waiting for shower for an hour and nobody was in it. Yet they are not letting people take a shower. This is ridiculous and obviously someone is not doing there jobs
Not sure how this place gets 4 stars. Showers are down alot. Have overflowed fuel tanks twice because of malfunctioning pump handle. They never clean their pumps. Go to the TA down the road if you have a choice
More then 4 person are working but coffee machines are empty
Best to get gas on this east side of Amarillo. Its almost like prices jump up once you get to the west side because who knows whats out there in the wilderness? Clean restrooms, great soda selection, decent spread of gadgets and car chargers. No dog run or pet area, though, so the grass areas are a mess. Good spot to stop along I-40.
One coffee took my 7 mins disappointing.
Nice big gas station. The inside and outside were very clean and tidy. Lots of choices in food and beverages. Clerks were all nice and friendly. Bathrooms were clean, which is big because many truck stops along the interstate have dirty, smelly bathrooms. Tobacco prices were not as bad as I thought they would be. A little higher than in the city, but that is expected so it was not a huge deal. Liked the architecture of the building itself also! I will be stopping here the next time I travel through this area for sure! Five stars all the way!
Bulldoze it - Start over
They tell me that the showers have been down for a week now after a pipe broke. Corporate wanted to bid the job out instead keeping the customers first place and just paying a local IMMEDIATELY available company to fix it fast. Thanks a bunch to the corporate people that shower every morning at their homes before the go to work. Us drivers that make Pilot/Flying J its BILLIONS in profits are really happy that you will save a couple of hundred dollars at our expense.Additionally, the plumbing problem reduces the place to two (2) toilets for a 200+ parking space travel center. CORPORATE PEOPLE ARE CRUEL !!!
Quick reliable service. Have just about anything you can imagine. Prices are affordable. Lots of open parking.
Great place to stop. Clean bathrooms, super friendly staff and well stocked and cleaned drink stations. Its nice to see a well oiled machine. Keep up the great work and tasty hot chocolate ;)
The flying J by far is a great place to stop when traveling. They had snacks, clean bathrooms, real food and extras if you need them. I will usually bypass some places just to hit up flying j
Nobody on duty to pump propane. If you cant serve it, dont advertise it. Im moving a large RV around town trying to find propane. I come to Flying J and they shrug their shoulders like its not their problem. They dropped much lower on my list when looking for services.
Overall most of the staff at this truck stop were hospitable. However there was a man named Victor took one look at me and treated me like the scum of the Earth. Guess he thought I was a vagrant instead of just a sunburned Traveler. ask me to move from the only working outside Outlet to charge my phone. I even went inside to the outlets the employees were suggesting but none of them worked. Ultimately I had to buy a shower and do laundry just to get my phone charged. Glad I had money to do so. Sorry for those who dont. Vagrant or not we are all human and should be treated with compassion especially when were traveling.
They were out of sodaI went and asked somebody to check it stood around for 15 minutes as the second time no response so I left Ill go somewhere else
Friendly and cool staff. Big parking lot for trucks, fresh food. Like to stop here every time I’m in the area...
Pizza was old and dry. Restrooms were somewhat clean but could use improvement. Long wait at fuel isle for diesel then window fluid was not clean. Staff friendly but need to take a little more pride in their stores upkeep.
Great coffee from freshly ground beans in their new, upgraded machines. I will continue to use Flying J when traveling across the country for business and pleasure. Professional staff and good lounge for truckers as well.
Its the cleanest Ive seen this truck stop in years. Not only on the inside but the outside too. And on that critical note ...... The food is more selective and healthier. Meaning fresher. The service much friendlier and on top. Thank you for service🍳🍴☕🏈😍
Staff was friendly, but when you stop and expect to get a cup of coffee or some hot food... Well the plumbing was not working so no coffee.... Was in the mood for a Sunrise burger.... Did not have no burgers, and the wings I got were so hard to bite into I threw them away plus the oil needed to be changed. Chicken tenders were dry, n the corn dogs looked like they had been sitting for hours. Pizza was almost gone. Nothing was coming out. N I love PJ Fresh food. Need less to say I will not be coming back to this Pilot.
Staff was very pleasant. Food was well stocked and fresh. Restrooms were clean. Diesel Island are filthy with broken squeegees and empty wash buckets. Water leak between first two islands has been there for a long time.
Quick. Good Dennys always nice people no matter how busy. Just sad I had to give up coffee it was always fresh here.
Everything was great. People friendly. Food hot
Everything was fine. Bathrooms are a bit small, only 2 sinks, but they were pretty clean. There was a long wait for a shower but the shower was pretty clean. No other issues. Lots of parking spaces.
The food very good, fast service and our waitress, Kimberly was excellent! Merry Christmas
It looks like all shifts are on board with cleaning: from showers to restrooms and the store all was spotless. They also had 100% fresh brewed coffee.
Bathrooms are gross... Showers dont work.
On/off access is easy and area is well maintained. Restroom usually well maintained and employee can be told the restroom needs cleaning and custodian is notified. All employees greet and thank customers entering or leaving building.
The shower needed to be more cleaned. The worker was using the same towels that we use to dry the floor then he will put that same towel in the washer with other towels that people use. He did NOT use any detergent!! That was real sick.. Its not just here just about all do this. We Demand on being treated with respect that definitely was no RESPECT. The truckers alone bring in a heavy revenue to these stations. One truck at bay may just do $200. More than hundreds of truck come in & out thats a lot of money for people to be treated like Savages. Very unhealthy, these workers need to be Reprimanded and most definitely be trained on how to clean the bathrooms with out being LAZY doing there job. I chose NOT to film him because I know how much these job means to people. But if it continues I will & I would Not care if that person or persons lose their job. We dry our bodies we put our foot on these towels to know, the same towels we use they clean the bathrooms with it! Unsanitary.. Then I will send the film to the HEALTH DEPARTMENT & ask them is this Righteous on how the workers of these places clean these bathrooms. How do they handle our foods? The same way..As well these bathrooms are developing mold soap scump on the walls. The Toilets are Not cleaned has feces, dirt is build up at the bottom of the toilet then for him to use the same towel or towels to clean the shower floor & then around the toilet as well. They just need a crew just to handle the showers sections alone..
I put my son in the baby seat in the bathroom stall closest to the baby changer and while I was trying to buckle my son in the seat collapsed inward and the straps started choking him. My son is just turned one and now has a burn in his neck from the straps. If I could give them negative starts then I would. My son is well under the weight for the seat and I told the female cashier at the counter. Nothing had been done about it. This place is lucky nothing happened to my baby besides a scratch on his neck.
Friendly staff the Dennys restaurant was good and showers were great. Lots of hot water and good pressure
This place always very very dirty, kitchen, driver lounge.....the pilot in Vegas, tx very clean and nice, better stay there if you have time to get there
Not a travel center. Its only a TRUCK STOP, catering mainly to truckers. The public restroom is ALWAYS filthy or out of order. The restroom in the truckers lounge is ALWAYS clean and open. The entire truck stop is designed mainly around the diesel pumps for the semis. It is extremely difficult to use the pumps in the cars Island.
The store is very nasty. Floors are caked in dirt and stains. Very little merchandise. Cashiers want to stand around and be rude, and not wait on anyone.
No water in windshield buckets always out of windshield water in pumps squeezes are always broken no paper towels service sucks I wouldn’t stop here
Great place to stop and fuel up especially with that Dennys connected to it. Their servers are are very polite and attentive.
The staff is nice the food product is good I was ripped off or attempted to be ripped off twice in the last 2 days. It begins to look like a habit.
Last chance for great gas prices before leaving town (or entering it, if youre heading West)
Clean but small shower room. Dennys was excellent. Chicken fried steak, mashed taters and broccoli. Good visit
Bought gas..used the restroom. Handicapped stall was nice, clean, large enough to drive my scooter in and the commode was high enough for me to use, but I would have preferred another inch or 2 higher. This has become a major problem for me.
Nice clean facilities, staff was friendly and helpful. Showers were turning over quickly, they kept up well.
You can get anything you need on a road trip here. The bathrooms are clean. There is a great Dennys attached.
This place was fine, I just gave 3 stars cause the lady at the cash register had an attitude with me. She was pretty rude and had a shady demeanor. Thank goodness I was just traveling through, never have to see her locally.
And you only got a 4 because of the wonderful folks working. But come on now no coffee at 6am, very dirty restrooms and top it off with the worst experience with a shower that Ive ever had.You all need a full time coffee person in the morning and more than one shower person.Fix this
Great stop for RVs. They fill propane and have a dump station.......kudos
We dined at Dennys for breakfast. It was good. I had the veggie skillet for breakfast. I enjoyed it
Great place to stop, they have everything you could possibly need and the people are real friendly.
