I purchased a Smithy ML14-40 about 6 months ago. The headstock and tailstock were out of adjustment and the threaded hole in the carriage handwheel was a m8x1.25 and the stud for it was a m10x1.5 which wasnt a big deal since I adjusted the head and tailstock and drilled and tapped the handwheel. I had to call to get my owners manual since it never came with the lathe. I also never got the right morse taper adapter for the spindle although Ive called 2 or 3 times about it and was promised it would be sent to me. I should have bought a Grizzly.
Great company to do business with! Theyve done a great job at taking care of my needs and answering my questions. My granite 1324 max does what I ask and is second to none, very well built, heavy and just an all around great machine. Thanks Smithy
Great machine (Granite 1340 Classic), great support, wish I had more time to use it to the fullest extent.
