Amazing people here. So we couldn’t decide. Oracle dog through the arch says, the ‘Cosmic’. And so it was: cosmic. It had shrooms! Just kidding it was delicious and no we didn’t hallucinate the wonderful bathroom mural of Gaia holding the world tree. But I had the compulsion to buy a bunch of mushroom stickers! (Thanks mellow guy from SF for chasing me down w my notebook.)

If I could give this coffee shop an extra star I would. Super sweet, local spot with a unique vibe. Kind, patient employees who have awesome music taste. The perfect place to grab a drink and something to eat to fuel yourself for some study time with their free WiFi! Indoors and outdoor seating too! How epic. I love it here! 110% recommend.

Awesome local spot with actually good espresso which is super hard to come by in humboldt!! They have free wifi (sometimes spotty), and a super cute set up indoors and outdoors. They close way too early for being in a college town in my opinion but I make it a habit to go here mornings I’m not in class or at work.

Northtown Coffee is part of my daily routine. The staff is awesome, the building is special, and of course the beverages and food are always amazing. High quality ingredients and proper preparation make for a good cup. The super shroom mocha is a special treat!

They are open earlier than other parts of Arcata, and made a nice almond milk cappuccino for me and a chai for my partner in crime.They have a fun rounded “hobbit door” that leads out to their front patio, where there are 5-6 tables to enjoy the weather.

It was pretty cozy and had a nice local theme, along with the local theme was also thr high price theme. Ive seen much worse prices before but theirs are nothing to take so lightly. Overall very nice place though.

My first time was today 8/16/21, I ordered the potato hash for 13$ . It was one egg on top of 6 potatoes. It was a bit insulting the amount of food given to me . I know times are rough but one egg… really…… I ordered a cheaper meal the day before at wildflower across the street and was stuffed. The portion was scarce and the coffee I ordered, one of their special cold brews, was sub par at best . The food tasted good thankfully so that was the redeeming factor . My partners avacado toast was literally a piece of toast . Times are hard but bread and eggs must be low expense items. Don’t waste your money or time

We had a really positive experience at this coffee shop! The barista that helped us made the coffee exactly how we asked and did an amazing job with it! He also made sure that we tried it and that it was the sweetness level that we were looking for which I thought was very considerate. We also got a cookie here that was delicious. I would definitely recommend!

This place is awesome!!Im from Southern California and i would love it if we had a one of these down there.My coworkers and I stopped by for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat before work.Coffee was great and so was the sándwich.It’s got the coolest vibe and employees are super friendly.I wish I would have time to go back tonight for poetry night,They serve alcohol, I’m sure it would of been a great experience.Im definitely stopping by when I come through this town again.

I ordered a hot latte and expected it to be hot. And what I got - luke warm drink that costed me $6. Very disappointing.

Nice spot with a healthy dose of funk. I ordered the Super Shroom Mocha, but there was no shortage of interesting specialty drinks to choose from. The bagel breakfast sandwich was bomb. Simple ingredients and well-made. Several beers on tap and a small stage for live music.

Love this place!!! We are HSU alumni and always stop for the best coffee on our trips back. Northtown coffee wasnt there when we were in school, but it is a perfect coffee house to take us back when Arcata was not so busy. They have the best and most unique specialty coffees. Thank you again for the kind and friendly service on our spring break 2021.

I love Northtown Coffee. Try their Green Dragon hot drink (matcha, mate, coconut milk, and honey). Not only are their drinks great, but omg their breakfast biscuit was scrumptious! Oh and the service is really awesome. Great coffee drinks, (or tea), great food, and great people! If there were more than 5 STARS I would give them more!

Great coffee, ample indoor and outdoor seating, nice menu for morning snacks and beverages. The music was a little loud for 7am and the baristas were a little grumpy, but overall, a very chill place to work. Seems to attract a lot of students from Humboldt State.

I really liked the vibe in this place. It felt welcoming to everyone. Also the specialty drinks are great. I had a Lavender Dream and a Rose Matcha Latte. Both were great, with a subtle but present floral aroma and taste. Great for a sweet hot drink.

The is a great little cafe with good baked goods (including vegan options) and coffee drinks. Nice place to hang out for a bit, and lots of nightly events happening during the week!

Great coffee with lots of flavours and combinations. Fantastic food; gluten free, vegan the lot.As with most American coffee joints they add a lot of sugary syrup as standard so request less if you are a sugar avoider.You can buy crystals and other crafty paraphernalia here.

I dont drink coffee, and I strongly dislike coffee places, but these guys have a weekly open mic for comedy, so they are awesome and the only place you should ever get your disgusting swill. Also, go there for the open mic on Sundays at 5pm. What the hell else are you doing on Sunday afternoon?

One of the best little stops in Arcata with great coffee, great food, and great company. The servers are friendly and make you feel at home while the costumers are also friendly. If youre looking for a quick meal, this place is not the quickest but the food is definitely worth the wait. The quality of food is worth the wait. Reminds me of a delicious home cooked meal. Absolutely worth making the trip from the main plaza.

The morning beverages are unique and good and they will customize. The staff is friendly. The people are an eclectic group. The food is often organic, locally sourced and even trendy. A good experience any time.

Not a huge fan of their lattes... not sure why... but they have other great coffees with some interesting flavors. Also, I dont recommend their biscuts, theyre too herby (for lack of a better word) But, they have a great location, atmosphere and fun events all the time.I wouldnt recommend this place for studying because they play their music really loud and they also have poetry night and karaoke which can be distracting, but other than that, this place is great! Lots of tables, dogs allowed on the patio.

Delicious breakfast croissant. Best drip coffee ever. If you are new to the area, take dishes to cart and compost in bin next to the cart. Very close to highway 101.

I have always enjoyed the tea selection I get here. The atmosphere is mellow – its ok to sit and play cards or just talk. What I dont like is that on more than on occasion I had to walk through a cloud of pot smoke from groups on the lawn on my way in.

Love, love, love this place. I love the owner and the employees. They are always delightful. They use organic ingredients & have tons of gluten free options (hence the price) Yes, there are a lot of people in there working on something but its the only place in town that actually supports that. So, Im grateful. They offer a table or 2 specifically for folks dining in but not lingering. Ive never had anything to complain about in here other than the occasional disrespectful customer, which has nothing to do with the business.

Chillest place to enjoy homework, or converasion, casual cute girls and fun people are always around. Try the breakfast there chef is on fire!

Good coffee and frappes. Picnic Tables outside are nice to sit in, sheltered from the wind typical for a coastal town. A few food option, but Ive only done drinks so far. Very close to campus, just across the street from the foot bridge.

Excellent coffee, perhaps the best in Arcata, wide variety of amazing pastries, foods, cheesecake and more...Chill environment, often fairly busy, due to proximity of HSU campus, and though Ive not been, yet, there are evening activities like (Savage Henry) comedy open Mic nights and music. Sure to be a good time!

There is a very nice environment, but the place is very overpriced. It is filled with a lot of college students and is always too full of people. For a very full coffee shop with slow service, their items are not that good and are far too expensive.

Love the drinks here, food is usually above my expectations too! Zucchini muffins are delicious and moist :) it would be nice to have a more frequently updated music schedule so I can either attend a show or schedule meetings another day, but there is still a lot of room on the outdoor deck

Great for clubs, meetings and maybe dates depending on your tastes. Good seating, good atmosphere. If they have the immunity potion on tap try it....itll clear out your sinuses for sure.

Coffee is great. The food is good too, but took 50 mins for breakfast tacos that only had scrambled eggs and beans in them. Im guessing they had to go to the store for groceries to make breakfast this morning. Disappointed that it took so long. If I go back it wont be for food.

Pretty chill place. Love doing work there although I wish they didnt close so early. The poetry night on Tuesday evenings are rad AF and the karoake is cringeworthy AF. Haha. The staff are pretty and chill. I love their outdoor patio its very cute and there are random rainbows that pop up on the deck, it makes me happy.

Its your coffee shop. This place seems very trendy with the college crowd. They offer a nice outdoor patio seating out front, and have some pretty tight, close-together cafeteria tables inside. The coffee is alright, and they offer some other things as well. The wifi is billmurray, it has been for years, seemingly.

The coffee is great. i had the moonlight latte, which i am a huge fan of. They were out of the vegan burrito, so I got the veggie lovers, had to wait forever, and the sandwich was alright, bread was pretty hard. Definately not worth $9, but whatever. Giving this a 3 star, cause I think the prices are a bit wack.

Northtown has to be my favorite coffee shop in Arcata. Its clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Drink and food are always great but I wish they had more seating.

Honestly good coffee, great teas. And decent prices coming from LA area it was a bit pricey for my usual but for the area I would deffinetly suggest this place over most other places for coffee or breakfast.
