I just had a terrible experience I sent a guitar to Mr. Dave and he was suppose to repair guitar dings and he made it worse the guitar cost us almost $3000 and now he tells me he does not make that type of job when he had the guitar since January. Now the guitar will loose its value and we will not be able to sell it due to that awful work, it looks like a kid painted with a paintbrush...terrible terrible job but I will seek for further advise on this because it is so sad that now he is just saying that I gave him permission which I did because I trusted him and thought he would do a good job because he never said he couldnt do it. He might be good in a lot of guitar stuff but he is not good at being honest and say or admit he couldnt do the job at least return the money I played which was for him to damage the guitar.****Just to be clear I never asked for him to buy the guitar I told him the guitar cost 3000 and lastly I did not even asked him for what I payed even though he did terrible job and I even told him to have a bless life. He can stay with the money I payed BUT NEVER ASKED HIM TO BUY THE GUITAR OR PAY ME 3000 OR 5000, God is a God of justice God bless you*****

Everything from his response is wrong. First, he never said that he doesnt do restorations. He agreed to paint the guitar where there were dings on it. Second, he would never text us, every time I had to text him to get a response. Third, he told us where he was gonna paint it and I send him a picture of where to. He painted the parts where I told him, but even manage to paint other parts without my permission. He did asked us for our permission to try a new type of polish. He polished the guitar and said that it worked. When I received the guitar, in the part where he polished it I saw it worse when some of the scratches showing more than what I saw last time. Fourth, we never asked him for the money, we have all the proof on the text messages. We told him that the guitar cost up to 3000 to 5000 and that we wouldnt be able to sell it due to the poor refinish he did. You even said by refunding us the money we pay you would admit you did something and you did, you messed up the guitar not cool man. Next time dont say you can do refinishes. Horrible Service.

Took my cheap Epiphone SG special VE in to have the body repaired from ripping the jack through the veneer. Even though I only paid for a basic repair, he was so dedicated to getting it right, I also loved how passionate he was. Unfortunately he ended up not being happy with the work he performed and how long he took to do so, so he offered to trade my guitar for one in his collection. (which I feel kind of bad about because it was clearly a better guitar than mine). In the end, if you want an affordable repair by someone willing to do their best, even on a cheap guitar, and someone who is clearly passionate about what they do, I recommend him. (I also had him do set up 3 guitars, which was quick and painless)

I got to sit in on the guitar set up. Im big on being able to watch skilled guys working on things. Ive had guitars for decades and know more than I probably let on but I was very impressed with Daves work and work ethic. Everything was explained as it went along, start to finish. Great stories on the side too! I would not hesitate to recommend Daves for all guitar work.
