I visited mountain sports looking for a fish finder battery for my native kayak. They had the exact one I was looking for and the graph mount too. Quality yak accessories and quality employees too. Good kayak selection as well.

I needed to buy a new ski coat after I decided to replace my 21 year old, chartreuse ski coat... yep, Ive had it since I was 13 years old and it is very old school looking (I guess thats in right now lol)! Being in Texas, I dont always need a heavy ski coat, but Im outside for different reasons and Id love to go skiing again, so I decided to go ahead and buy a new ski coat that had a working zipper before the 2021 arctic storm. They were very helpful showing me the various coats they had in stock. They let me try stuff on, but checked on me to see if I had any questions... not pushy, just helpful. Im thankful I bought my beautiful blue coat and will use it for MANY years to come! Ill definitely shop at Mountain Sports again for other outdoor sports needs.... much better than going to a big box store.

During the 2021 winter storm, we drove 40 minutes to find some boards. The staff was unbelievably helpful with getting some snowboards. Their prices were best by far and we checked several stores. They have everything in store too. We will continue to make the drive to this store for our outdoor needs.

Walked in on a whim, walked out with a new Kayak. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, and a guy named Ryan showed me around. We went over several different Kayaks together, and though he showed we many different kayaks he didnt pressure me to buy something I didnt want or need. Spent exactly what I wanted to spend and had a great experience. Will definitely go back to buy more stuff from them.

Not many places have kayaks in stock right now especially 12 foot ones but they do. Treated us well and helped find what we needed. Didnt seem to push anything on us. Appreciated the help loading and strapping down the kayaks in our pickup.

I’m blown away by the service provided by Bill at Mountain Sports. Amidst Texas’ freezing crisis he called and communicated and did everything in his power to get my order to NY in time for my trip. Stopped by Mountain Sports to shop for a cooler. They had a great selection of sizes and colors in both Yeti and Orion. Bought the Orion Cooler after consulting with store personnel and considering their well informed suggestions. I even found a pair of river shoes I didnt know I needed! They took great health and safety precautions that made the shopping experience even more comfortable. Highly recommended!

Mountain Sports has a great selection for womens shoes. I went to two other stores before I found this gem. The other stores had limited options and most of their womens shoes were sandals. Very happy to find this place! I will come back for all of my outdoor needs.

I ordered a North Face coat for our son on Dec 20th and receive it on Dec 23rd!!!!! This jacket was sold out at every other store. Since we live in Missouri, I was sure wed have to give him an I.O.U a for Christmas. The customer service is amazing. I will definitely purchase from Moutain Sports again in the future. Thanks!!

The guys at this location were extremely helpful. I explained that I had already purchased my kayak and some other gear over in Dallas but had Id known of this location it wouldve saved me a trip. First time here and Im really glad I find them. The staff is fantastic. They pulled two kayaks out of storage and set them up for me to check out. Josh was available to answer all my questions & share his kayaking experience in general. There was no sales pressure at all. Mountain Sports will be my go to for quality gear from now on despite the long drive from East Dallas.

Have been shopping here forever. The staff is amazing! We went in to look and told them we had bought an expensive cooler there and the top got messed up by the heat. Bill told us to bring it in and he would take care of it. So we did and he replaced the top. Today I called him to see if he had a backpack that my husband loved and if so could he pull it off the shelf and hold it for me till Friday so that I could surprise my husband for Christmas. If possible I would give Mountain Sports zero stars. My recent interactions with Mountain Sports was the absolute WORST customer experience I have ever encountered or witnessed in my 60 years on this planet!I purchased a high end $3000.00 Kayak from Mountain sports this past February (2020). When the State of Texas Department of Wildlife offices reopened (closed for months due to Covid 19) I filled out my paperwork to get the kayak registered and waited 3 weeks for an appointment. My appointment date was this past Friday, June 19th. After presenting my paperwork to the TDPW I learned that the boat serial number on the Bill of Sale I received from Mountain Sports was registered to someone in central Texas. To make a long story as short as possible I learned that the Bill of Sale I received from Mountain sports was incorrect and further learned that they never provided me with an MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin). These are documents that the State requires to register a new boat. While standing in the TPWD registration office I called Mountain Sports and asked to speak with Josh the Manager then explained what I had just learned. I explained I was leaving TPWD offices and needed him to have the an accurate bill of sale and an MSO for me when arrived in 45 minuets. Josh explained the he could give me the phone number to Jackson Kayaks and recommended I should call them for the MSO document. I explained to Josh how these issues and inaccuracies were caused by Mountain Sports and it would be great if he took ownership of the problems and made any needed calls to Jackson Kayaks corporate offices himself while I was driving to pick up the documents.... Joshs reaction to my request was to become angry and hang up on me. Im not kidding... He became exasperated with me because I asked him to clear up their mistakes. This gets even worse... When I arrived I had to wait for Josh to sign the Bill of Sale (State requirement)... After signing an accurate Bill of Sale he asked if I needed anything else. I explained that an apology would have been great then turned to leave the store. When I began opening the door to leave I hear someone from the register/counter area say Wha, Wha, Wha... I am not making this up. I turned around and looked at Josh and asked asked if he made that remark. Joshs reply was I didnt say that I turned to another employee standing next to Josh and asked if he had made the remark. His reply was I didnt say that. I looked at third employee standing behind the counter and asked him if he made the remark... He admitted that he said it. I explained to him that his remark was childish, petty and extremely unprofessional. I walked outside stunned about what had just happened then went back into the shop and spoke with the owner Bill whom I realized had witnessed the entire situation but did not become involved. Bill apologized for his employees comment and explained that he had gotten on to him.I urge you to remember this nasty experience if you are considering doing business with Mountain Sports.

While somewhat overpriced, Mountain Sports in central Arlington is a gold mine of sports/outdoor gear and apparel. If you need to prepare for that ski trip or kayak trip, the selection of quality products cannot be matched. And youll pay much less here than near base camp. Unlike the mega-stores, Mountain Sports is locally owned and operated by knowledgeable staff who will help you find the right product for your needs.

I needed a rack system that would work with my new trucks features. I wanted to use my trucks bed/ hitch to carry my bikes and kayaks. I didnt want a roof rack. Found what I needed, friendly service, awesome prices.

By far one of the best outdoor stores i have ever been in. I went in looking to buy a tent and was helped right away. i was shown what tents might fit my needs on the computer and then picked the one i was interested in. the worker was kind enough to help me set the tent up in the lobby to see if it was really what i was looking for. lets just say i walked out of there with a new tent

Just had my first ever experience with Mountain Sports and I am SO impressed and happy. I needed to get a new backpack, and not only was this the only place that had it for $30 cheaper than everywhere else, I got free shipping! On top of that, I received it extremely quickly. I placed my order around midnight on Sunday and got it Wednesday afternoon (not to mention this place is in Texas and Im in Ohio). Couldnt be happier with my experience and I will certainly be going through Mountain Sports for future purchases!

I had been searching online ALL DAY for a very specific pair of Chacos and they were the only store that still had them in the size I needed (and they were cheaper, too). I placed my order on a Friday at 2:15 p.m. It is now the following Monday at 9:30 and I just checked my email to see if theyd shipped, and theyre already out for delivery! I am completely amazed at the speed of delivery. I wasnt expecting to see them until Wednesday. Thank you Mountain Sports!

These guys had a good price on a last years model kayak that I wanted. I drove up there, picked it up, and the guys at the store were fun, knowledgable, and good to deal with. They helped me put my rack system on my car, even. I accidentally forgot the paddle I had bought, and they sent it to me, without me asking or anything. It just showed up on my doorstep a couple days later. Good experience.
