I strongly recommend this store! We had not purchased a bed for 20 years (dont judge :) ) and felt like idiots walking into Mattress Man (we went to the Tunnel Road location). The sales folks could not have been more helpful, answering all our questions patiently and informatively, without a hint of upselling (we were not looking for a high-end mattress). Their high-attention but low-pressure approach was perfect for us. I am someone who generally despises shopping, but they made the process so straightforward and positive that we wound up buying beds for each of our daughters as well!

High end mattresses are important to me in my business at our bed and breakfast. James absolutely blew me away with his his knowledge but was very personable. The two other stores I shopped were pushy, cold and didn’t understand that I was trying to go high end without breaking the bank. James wasn’t pushy which was appreciated but listened ( which is rare), showed me my options and expressed his knowledge based on my needs. I couldn’t have had a better experience and an now in the process of upgrading my inn. James and his family (local family owned and operated) will have all my future business. Highly recommend!

My mattress-buying experience was a pleasure. Brian was so nice and patient; he helped me find just the right mattress and guided me through which ones were softer, firmer, etc. In the end, I found the perfect mattress there (created by a local company!). My mattress was here and set up within a couple days (the delivery guys were super nice and professional, too). I hadn’t purchased a mattress in a long time, so I wanted information. Wes patiently answered my questions. All of them... Once I narrowed down the bed I wanted, he worked with me on price. Are they trying to make money? Yes! They are running a business. However, within the bounds of a company making money, I felt taken care of and treated fairly.Delivery was an equally great experience. I needed them to wait several days to deliver so I could paint my bedroom. As soon as I said I was ready, Wes set it up. My two delivery guys were awesome. They were on time. They were organized. They were friendly & polite. (Charlie gave me a card but I didn’t get the name of the other, I’m sorry!)This bed is a higher level of comfort than I’ve ever experienced. If you need a mattress, please go and try out beds at the store. We had a great experience at this store after visiting 3 others. James was helpful but not pushy. He helped us find the right mattress at a price that was actually far lower than we said we were willing to spend - in fact we got the mattress plus box spring for what other stores wanted for a mattress alone. And its well made. If we dont like it we can return it for credit. We are going back for pillows, would recommend highly.

Went to Mattress Man store across from Asheville Mall. Wes was extremely professional and knowledgeable about his products as well as those of his competitors (both in stores and online). Despite mattress delays across the country (my Saatva Plush was about 3 weeks behind) Wes helped us find the right type of mattress, in our price point, available today. The owner at the pickup location by Big Lots also went out of his way to help load the mattress and answer our other questions. I was originally going to order a bed online to avoid mattress stores, but I was very happy with the staff at Mattress Man. I look forward to sleeping on the bed tonight! (Tip, rent the $20 truck at Lowes)

We had already been to four other mattress stores looking for a new king mattress but decided to also visit Mattress Man in the Overlook Village. The young man helping us that evening was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. At other stores they seemed a bit over zealous or in one store, the sales person couldn’t adequately answer our questions. We were impressed with the way we were provided information on the different mattresses at Mattress Man and also how we were not pressured or just directed to the most expensive mattresses. We found a Restonic hybrid that we liked for a good price and decided to buy it. We ended up getting both free box springs and free delivery. We were pleased with the price. He scheduled the delivery for the following Saturday and said that we would get a call on Friday with the specific time. On Friday, we received a call saying they would deliver between 1 and 1:30 on Saturday. They did arrive right on time and quickly set up our new bed and removed our old mattress and box springs. The young men delivering were very nice and conscientious. We have now had our mattress for about a week. It seems a bit firmer than it was in the store but does seem to become a little softer day by day. We appreciate the 120 night guarantee if we should need to go to a more plush option but don’t think we will need to. We were very impressed with Mattress Man from start to finish. We would highly recommend Mattress Man!

Im a retired engineer who researches, analyzes, and tests major purchases to a HIGH degree. I bought a very high quality mattress today from a great person (Brent) in the Asheville store. He listened carefully to my needs and matched me with a few options that were spot on. He was not an arm twisting sales person, but more like a knowledgeable consultant. Brent also arranged for delivery in 2 days because we had some urgency. I cant say enough about my initial experience with Brent and Mattress Man. Completely different experience vs. past bed buying experiences at the chains.

I would highly recommend Mattress Man to anyone in the market for a new bed. Myself and my significant other went to several places looking for a new mattress and although none of them were terrible, Mattress Man was by far the best experience. Employees are not paid on commission so there is no one pressuring you to buy a mattress and no hard sales techniques used, which was big for me because I personally cant stand a sleazy used car salesman type person following me around a store trying to force me to buy something, so that part was really great and distinguishes them from 95% of all mattress stores. They were also extremely knowledgeable, gave us an amazing deal on an amazing bed, delivered very quickly plus they literally showed up the very minute they said they would, and the overall customer service was amazing. So if you need a mattress, definitely stop here before making a final decision.

I just had my new mattress delivered and want to say that if you are in the market for a new mattress I highly recommend Mattress Man here in Asheville in Overlook shopping center.Wes was the salesman I worked with and he was a delight. He would disappear momentarily and let me lie in comfort while trying out the mattress. He would ask questions, listen to what I had to say, answer any questions I had, and never did I feel any pressure from him. My husband and I were looking to buy twin beds that could also be made into a king bed. We first went to Mattress Firm which was an underwhelming experience and none of our options sounded appealing. We went over to Mattress Man next and had a completely different experience. Wes helped us find exactly what we needed, in fact, we found better quality beds at lower prices than Mattress Firm. They were able to deliver sooner as well and even had sheets and mattress pads to sell us that were excellent. The best part was Wes amazing knowledge, passion, and upbeat attitude. Going into mattress stores and being comfortable trying mattresses out can be super awkward, when you have a pressuring sales person hovering over you the whole time. With mattress man this is not the case at all! Everyone there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable! They definitely made mattress buying comfortable and enjoyable!

Despite it being Labor Day evening, Ryan was pleasant, very knowledgeable about his products and no pressure at all, reviewed the options, found my Goldilocks fit and in a matter of minutes I was all set up for delivery, within 3 days! I think it is important to buy local and this is a family owned Asheville business who works with Homeward Bound to provide mattresses for the homeless. Very pleased with my purchase and service and would highly recommend Mattress Man!
