If youre looking for inspiration for a project start here. They have a little bit of everything plus the staff are great. Well informed and so helpful.

Every time I come here the folks go above and beyond to make sure I’ve been helped and the quality of their products are top notch. Great consortium of premium options for the home-place. Im so happy to have discovered this gem. In addition to having such a fresh and beautiful selection, all of the people who work there are so nice and so patient. I certainly tested them the first time I was in there and probably stayed about an hour and a half asking questions and getting advice about everything (indoor house plants, growing herbs from seeds, growing herbs from plants). They answered all of my questions with kindness and professionalism, and thanks to their tips, everything I purchased in thriving (fern plants in my apartment, basil and mint plants on my balcony). This is the first time in awhile Ive had outdoor space and although Im excited about it, its a little overwhelming because I want to do things right. Thanks to the amazing staff at Fifth Season for giving me the knowledge and encouragement to make me feel like I may have a green thumb after all!

This shop has everything you need for hydroponics, basic gardening, growing hops and brewing beer, composting, house plants, and more! I would say the down side is that the plants are expensive. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Great place for garden supplies (soil, supplements, etc.). It has some decorative elements up front, and plants outside. They seem to have a good selection of products to grow crops inside. They have a cafe like thing that I have not tried.

Dont be fooled like I was by the shopping center location. This place has more the feed store/warehouse vibe inside. Wide selection of earth-friendly products for gardening and serious growers. Plus the beer on tap and home brew supplies! We were looking for vegetable plants (tomato, pepper, etc) and they have a decent selection. But shopping was frustrating because the only labeling of variety was a sticker on the side of the pot and that could only be read if you lifted the pot out of the tray. This is the first place I been where they didnt have placards or signs to make it easier to see what your options are. Also missing was any description of the characteristics of each variety (like growth habit, days to harvest, disease resistance, etc). So do your research ahead of time.

Cool little shop with reasonably priced goods and a rotating beer/coffee station.Its a shame they cant answer even the most basic queations about how their discount program works. My register person was literally unable to add up my purchases and tell me if I qualify for a program or not because she had to do it manually 😆 Eagles to say I spent over $200 with lowes instead that could have gone to these guys

Love to shop at this local garden (and brewing) store, where I can find that deliciously perfect mix of organic/natural gardening supplies (including indoor) and specialty goods for at-home brewing/fermenting/mushroom-growing. Knowledgeable staff is generally friendly and informative. Great houseplant selection as well, and its always tempting to walk out with a new book or beautiful illustrated greeting card. The main downside: slightly pricey (only a problem because their inventory is so tempting!); but I always feel good about supporting a local business. Recommended.

I love fifth season! As a plant hobbyist (I have over 150 tropicals) this is my go-to for all of my supplies. They usually have everything I’m looking for, even the harder to find supplies and brands that other nurseries in the area don’t carry. It’s very rare that they don’t have what I’m looking for no matter how random it may be. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful! Some of their plants are sometimes priced on the higher side, but they are always very healthy so I’d say it is worth the cost. Their plant supplies are all very well priced though! I also like the coffee shop they have in the store a lot!

Went in to buy some grains for my first all grain brew attempt. That staff there was very helpful. Great experience.

In the past I have enjoyed shopping at 5th season for my brewing and gardening needs. Its a neat store and has some pretty good products. This however comes nowhere near making up for the way they treat people. Almost every visit its something. From giving unsolicited advice, to commenting on things that are none of their business, on to opinions about your product selection. Most recently, the states mask mandate was lifted on May 14th. I visited the store on May 22nd and was accosted at the door by a medical door tyrant. They couldnt be bothered to say hello, just Do you have a mask? I replied that I didnt, and was asked to leave. Well, Get woke and go broke I say. Youll never get another cent of mine. This behavior is unacceptable and bullying in nature. Gardening store clerks do not supercede the law.

I love this place. I went in for one thing and found beautiful plants and planters! Their prices are so reasonable and the staff is friendly and helpful. One purchase required cold storage snd they threw in a cold pack at no charge. I’m going back ASAP.

They combine two of my favorite hobbies: gardening and fermenting! How can I not love this store?!They have a unique selection of houseplants with fair prices and any size terracotta pot you could ever want.They have everything you need to brew wine, beer, mead, kombucha, and jun. Their glassware is very reasonably priced and in good shape. They have a large selection of yeasts and sell them individually so you can try new strains without committing to a large multipack.Oh, and did I mention they have a bar inside? How awesome is that! I was also very grateful that they were able to special order liquid sweet mead yeast for me a while ago.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! Came in to get help and advice to train my monstera. Jordan was so helpful, spent a long time finding me a piece of wood and twine that was given to me for free and so much good advice. He was so knowledgeable! Not to mention they have a great selection of beautiful plants. I’ll be a loyal customer forever!

I run a small cut flower farm in Black Mountain, and 5th Season seems to always have what I need. So appreciate their helpful and knowledgeable staff and excellent selection of soil products and amendments!

A very well rounded place with a wealth of knowledge and symbiotic networks. Has a little bit or a lot of something for everyone. Hydroponics, houseplants, ferment gear(food, brew, wine, mead, etc.), DIY central, lighting, pottery, tools, did I mention great people? The list goes on... Be sure to carve out time for this gem its worth a stop everytime!

There are some very nice garden supplies there. I am fond of some garden tools there. They are high quality and some even US made. I did notice prices are higher (than Jessie Israel@ supplies However, you can open a buyers account and build a discount).

This is a beautifully displayed business to go for all your organic gardening needs or just to buy a gorgeous plant! Or perhaps you want to learn how to brew beer, make wine or kombucha... They have it all! And they stand behind their products 100%.

My girlfriend let me pick out a little bonsai for my birthday and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even helped me pick out some soil and the correct size pot for it. These guys rock!

Pretty awesome place with a wide variety of supplies needed for homebrewing, plant care, and hydroponics. I was shocked to see a bar in here too which serves some local beers on tap!

This is my go to for unique gifts, amazing pots and cool yard art. I got an amazing rain chain and it was 1/2 the cost of any online place. Everyone here is so helpful and they even potted a plant for me! Check it out!

Everything Ive bought from here grows VERY well. Ive had cheaper plants that are still alive, but just never grew much. When I spend just a little more on the same type of plants at Fifth Season, I can put it in the same spot and it thrives. My plants from Fifth Season tower over the ones I got from discount catalogs.

Great hidden spot! They have everything garden. I didnt even know it was there. Its a hidden gem. Plus they have there own Homebrew beer! You can drink and look at plants. We got Carolina Reapers. We looked in 6 other places. No one had them but here. The staff is super sweet and educated And helpful. We definitely will be going often. They have hydroponics to air plants to bonsai trees. Its super cool. Its got a good vibe.

Love the energy in the store! There is a great variety of garden finds here. You can take your time shopping here while ordering a beer or komucha (on tap) at the bar, which is in the center of the store! Everyone wants to help you and is very knowledge. We ordered composting worms here. The shop is tucked in a corner at the end of the shopping strip with Whole Foods.

Knowledgeable, helpful, mature staff. Nice selection of organic products, great select house plants, terra cotta pots in Moka hue, and a safe place to shop in pandemic. The displays and products are inspiring toward action ! We love Fifth Season !

Excellent products and service!

I get my home brewing supplies at fifth season. They have a great selection of grains, adjuncts, hops, yeast and equipment. You can weigh your own grain or someone is there to assist you. The self service is kind of fun actually. And they also have some great beers on tap!

We had very pleasant trip to the Fifth season today. We were greeted by pleasant and helpful staff. Found what we were after and somethings we werent.

Really good place to go for garden and beer supplies. The nursery is also really nice. They have other sections including cheese making in less depth.

My absolute favorite store of all time!!!! Incredible selection of all my favorite things, excellent prices, and super sweet customer service. Quality store for all your garden, indoor plants and brewing needs. We have bought several indoor plants to decorate our house with and all have been top quality with easy to follow instructions for care. They also have a great homebrewing selection and co2 tank exchange. Highly recommend, staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Oh and you can have a pint while you shop.

Good beer making supplies with friendly and helpful staff.

Ive been shopping there since they were on what is now called the South Slope. The expansion didnt cause them to loose any of the good things. The owners and employees are all so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They carry some of the highest quality products on the market, from fertilizers to seeds, cover crops, tools, you name it. They even carry New Country Organics Chicken feed! Thank goodness for locally owned stores like this one.

I garden and landscape on a small (approx 1/3 acre) lot inside the city limits. I also have a small population of indoor plants. Fifth Seasons has become my Number Two place for plant-related purchases; only Roses Garden Shop on Charlotte Street gets more of my business--she is smaller and closer to me; she has no bulk supplies, but sells plants and antiques at excellent prices.Besides Roses, Fifth Seasons beats out all others because of the following:1. All ORGANIc planting media and amendments. That means NO ICKY CHEMICAL SMELL as you shop.2, Beautiful indoor plant section, small but eclectic outdoor nursery.3. Coffee, tea, and beer bar in the store--cafe tables for companions who couldnt care less about plants.4. Spacious.5. High quality tools and accessories.I cant speak to the brewing and hydroponic sections; they seem to be extensive and top-notch but thats not where my interests lie.

Went in today to purchase a fermenter and the price went from 89 to 129. I asked what changed and was told oh we were not making enough money so we jacked up the price. Really? Why would you say that to a customer. Good to know and Ill take my business elsewhere.
