This is one of my favorite record stores in the world! The inventory is currated with expertise and care. Theres so much cool stuff here, the prices are fair, and the staff is super nice and knowledgeable. They love music and art and it shows! Plus, you can hang out there and have a beer or a soda, and they host live acts that you probably wont see at any other venue in town. If you love underground or eclectic music, check this place out!π€π€
This is a great record store - and more! In addition to having a great and eclectic collection of new and used records, they host live performances regularly and have an outdoor seating area to enjoy cheap beverages and socialize.
Easily the best of the record haunts in Downtown Asheville. Came up from GA and visited Western NC for the week and decided to check out this much buzzed about city. Got to buy lots of new music and chat up the friendly, gorgeous woman working the bar, who with her co workers sold me on the record that was playing on the turntable. 5 stars. Will definitely return some day.
Stopped in while on a weeks vacation in Asheville.. was really just looking for a cold beer. However, really enjoyed the place and people working there. Super friendly. Cold beer. Lots of records, and bands should again be playing soon if not already.
The absolute best dig with a cold beer.Highly recommended
Great selection of cassettes, records, and friendly staff. If youre looking for punk records in the Asheville area, stop by!
Such an awesome little record shop. I really like the way they have their titles arranged, they make it really easy to search for something specific. They also have a stage in the back for really small shows within an intimate setting. They have a pretty good selection of different genres, certainly worth checking out if youre in the downtown Asheville area.
Fun store with live music in the evenings
Music, music, and more music. You can actually pick an instrument, sit down, and try it out. While we were there, folks were strumming different guitars, talking music talk, and adding to an already fun vibe. Our daughters boyfriend is an amazing musician and he walked out with a guitar he bought to add to his collection. Great spot!
Lovely shop in a nice area to hang out/shop. Found lots of local/contemporary gems + a nicely curated selection of used records across most genres. The woman working played great tunes and was a pleasure to talk music with. Canβt wait to come back. Do not miss this shop if you find yourself in Asheville. (+++ a listening station)
First time here. Nice selection of lps of all different genres, and the prices were good. Thought having to put your hands over some humidifier-like thing, though, was a bit much.
Loved the layout and concept in this place. Records on the wall aisles. Bar in the center. Small venue in the back. Had a great selection of vinyl from just about any era or genre one could think of. The guy behind the counter was friendly and knowledgeable.
Great record store and venue. They have done a lot to make this an interesting place to see music. They have a bar now, compared to bringing my own tall boys. The record selection is expansive! Lots of used records and new records. I believe they buy records as well. Only complaint is that the organization is a little questionable. Wish it was more clear. Overall though a must stop for a vinyl collector when downtown.
Great selection, even better customer service.
Looking for a record? Harvest doesnt have it? These guys probably will. Smaller but very interesting selection, both current and classic. A lot of favorites and a fantastic atmosphere until the summer heat hits. Place bakes a little in the sun. People running it are good folk and very patient with questions.
Good selection with an even better knowledge from staff. Chris was very friendly and sold me two records I had never heard but not without sampling each one for me. Both turned out to be great recommendations worthy of purchase. Will definitely return when back in town.
Great experience!! Was in town from Ga dec 26 was heading to the bar next door based on google searching ended up here instead, seen a cpl awesome bands play and found the most down to earth local crowd in town! Owners and staff were very polite as well not to mention the drink prices were unbeatable,, only cons would be its a bit cramped but definitely will be returning whenever im in town.
Good selection of records and they have shows there. What else do you want in a record store? Its perfect.
They have death metal and black metal albums here. Enough said.
Awesome staff! Friendly, knowledgeable. Great space. Had a cold beer and watched several great musicians. Fantastic gig Griffin Branch
Terrible store. Weak selections. Looks and smells like a gas station bathroom.
Saw a punk rock show here back a few years ago. I didnt meet the staff, and I didnt buy anything, but it seemed to be a decent shop. I looked around before the show and even though it was a rather small store, they seemed to have a pretty wide selection of punk and indie records, along with some more metal and other mainstream stuff. Overall it looked that a good spot. I cant give it a full 5 stars because as I said before, I havent had the entire experience.
My favorite record store in Asheville. Great selection. Excellent shows too.
Had a wonderful afternoon enjoying saki and great albums. A pleasure to do business with.
Cool little venue. You are watching bands play...with their sound melting your face off. Totally an intimate moment with music.
Good selections as far as records. They host shows. Not a huge fan of the space where they host em. But the venue has done a lot for the DIY music scene.
They had records and hand sanitizer because people touch records.
Great selection and laid back atmosphere. Love that you can have a beer while browsing. :)
Friendly staff and a wide selection of music I wasnt familiar with. Good place to browse for a cool find. Fair prices
What a great place to hang for the love of Music and to be a Himan.
Cool spot, band setting up when I was there, theres a bar in the center of the store which is awesome, plenty of selection even if a tad disorganized, seemed to have better prices than Voltage up the street & definitely better music playing in store
Great little record shop with some fabulous finds. We always stop in when we are in Asheville and usually leave with a vinyl treasure!
Probably the largest supplier of casettes in town, also throws pretty solid shows in the back
Dive bar/venue + record store!Just happened to dip in here after realizing the Downtown After Five festival someone told us about, hosted near the overpass of 240 and Lexington, was not my cup of tea. Amazing selection. Found a number of fantastic records. Others have mentioned that the prices were high, but I found them to be inline with other record stores I have shopped at in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. Staff was super friendly. After digging through the stacks my girlfriend and I hung out and drank a couple of beers while listening to the super chill show in the back of the store. So happy I found this place because I really love it. It seems rare to find something so authentic in downtown Asheville. I know that seems like Im slamming Asheville. I really love Asheville, but there is the tourists version Asheville and there is locals version of Asheville. This very much felt like the latter. They also had some interesting handmade pieces of jewelry and some amazing enamel pins for sale. I know Im gushing about this place, but it really made my night. Will be back next time Im in town.
Great staff, great record selection, and great live shows!
Great place to see shows and a great selection of vinyl. Staff is really friendly.
Cool little spot in downtown Asheville for records. Never know what you may find.
Great selection of used records, they serve beer, and have a show space in the back that is surprisingly big. Couldnt ask for more!
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great venue. Hot Sake !
They have a large selection of heavy metal. Id like to see a show here next time Im in town!
Good selection of records and beer. One to check out for sure!
Good place to find old vinyls. Prices are ok.
Was just there last week for a fringe Festival show, so I know theyre open still. Problem is the phone number is out of service - thats listed on Google Maps. Could you please list your current phone number? Thanks.
Great place to look through records and have a beer
I shop here every time I visit Asheville. Great record shop.
Great variety across all genres. Space is a little tight.
Great punk selection.
Nice selection, but was never acknowledged by staff. Pricey store.
Visiting the area and stopped in. Big selection but nothing I was looking for. Employees didnt even say hello.
Decent collection, high prices, so so quality
Good punk selects and other newer records too.
Great vinyl selection in all genres with knowledgeable staff.
Not as broad a selection as Voltage. Nice little shop
Always good ol shows
Nice venue and location. Staff was very rude.
Cool bands played.
Great record store for eclectic music and rock and roll!
Record store that serves beer... Sign me up.
A record store with a bar? Yes!
Cool place!
Cool place for vinyl.
Favorite place in Asheville!!
Old school record store.
Always a pleasure
The energy was electric
Dope with a side of troy
Cramped with a mediocre selection.
Great records
