I went to that store to get a drum set for my son I spent 1 hour looking around no one ask me if I need help they just there joke around have fun.

Terrible service by the manager TJ at the Athens, Georgia. We were ready to buy music equipment after shopping the day before at the store. The other 2 employees that helped us previously were terrific (kind, respectful, and communicated very well through the whole process). We ended up canceling our purchase in the store because of the rude behavior of the manager TJ. Would not recommend this location to anyone if the manager is in charge of the location. Corporate needs to hire a competent manager for this location.

I thought this place was great; I have always enjoyed music but wouldnt consider myself someone who is very knowledgable about sound systems/speakers. Wes helped me as soon as I walked through the door and gave me some excellent feed back on my purchase, and it didnt stop there. I was purchasing a gift, and although they didnt have any big enough bags, Wes found me something to hide my gift with from the back so I was able to hide what the purchase was. Thanks for the good experience!

Great people and great prices. You can buy with confidence that youre getting what you want and not some knock off. The people are always so friendly. I recently bought a guitar package for my grandson and its really nice. They were able to help me find a good quality guitar that fit him. Wish more stores were like this place. I went to the one in Athens this time but Ive been to several different ones and they have all been great.

I always have a great experience every time I walk in this store. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful, the store is super clean and organized, they have a really great selection, they carry good quality instruments in an affordable price range which is super nice for broke college kids like me, and it’s just really fun to shop here. Wanted to specifically shout out Chad because he went above and beyond yesterday helping me find a ukulele. He immediately greeted me at the door, showed me where everything was, gave me a rather detailed lowdown of some of the products, and was honestly just so much fun to work with. He is so personable and knowledgeable. Give this man a raise !If you are looking to purchase an instrument here, ask for Chad. He is awesome.

Poor customer service... low inventory and the only thing that anyone even said to me was please use some hand sanitizer and put on a mask as you enter. Then he disappeared and nobody else working there even said hello or asked what we needed. I wouldnt recommend this place is your serious about buying anything. There are other stores that are much more friendly and helpful.

The repair man at guitar center is the bomb! Friendly helpful. I havent been able to refer a good repair man in years. Now I have someone I feel I can trust. Ty!The store is to small after years of shopping at the store on 41 in Marietta.e

Everyone was helpful and realt nice but the mask thing SUX ... our sub was broken when fed ex threw it on our porch so we had to go back and have it replaced.

Chad is the BEST. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and not pushy by any means. I was able to find the perfect bass because of his customer service skills. I will definitely be returning for a hardshell case, amp, cord, and strings soon.

I never write reviews but I wanted to warn anyone who was considering getting their guitar worked on in athens. I took my acoustic in a month ago to get the action lowered a little bit. I was told that it would take a day or so. I picked it up after a month. I now have an unplayable guitar with a broken tuner after not playing for a month. I understand that accidents happen but this was all handled in an extremely unprofessional manner. He never communicated with me as to what was really going on and I had to basically track him down to figure out what was going on. There’s just no excuse for how this played out.

They are sanitary and have great customer service. Very good place.

The Atlanta Store is much much nicer. I am searching for the latest keyboards and this store had like 3 to choose from...

This isnt my 1st bad encounter with a Guitar Center which resulted in me avoiding them all together for years but when my stepdaughter approached me about possibly pursuing percussion I decided to give Guitar Center another chance. As a musician myself I dont believe in buying cheap gear but also dont feel an individual needs to go all out unless they are playing semiprofessional. That wrote - I went into Athens Guitar Center with a good amount of cash in my pocket with all intentions of purchasing an electronic drum set/sticks/drum chair/& amplifier. Not to mention if I saw anything that caught my own eye I wouldve likely purchased such for myself.Now, I understand we are in a pandemic because of Covid19 however, I used my own hand sanitizer prior to entering the store & was wearing a required mask. No sooner than I entered the store some kid that looked as if he had come to work hungover approaches me NOT with welcome to Guitar Center how may I help you but instead with ah umm dude, you need to use hand sanitizer. I informed the associate that I used my own prior to entering the store. Another associate approached saying yeah, well with all thats going on we ask you to use our hand sanitizer ... Okay, alright I get it really I do ... so I walked over to the hand sanitizer they had & used such but as I did they walked off. There was absolutely no how can we help you at any point of time I was in the store. So, okay I figured if I walked over to the electronic drums & started eyeing them/playing whatever ...that someone would eventually walk over & ask if I needed assistance. An associate walked past me eager to help some young guy cycling through the guitars with absolutely no intentions likely of purchasing any of the ones he was playing. Kinda ridiculous because about three associates were helping this guy. At this point Im standing by the drums & walk over to the drum sticks. I pick out a good pair of drum sticks to purchase to go with everything I had planned to purchase. I go back to the drums & wait .... At this time there are 6 associates at the desk but none acknowledged me at all. I attempted to ask one for help but he was with another customer. I dont mind waiting but it felt ridiculous when other associates could actually offer assistance but decided to simply stand around at the desk. I put the drum sticks down & walked towards the door & to which associates were looking in my direction at this time & I informed them all they had just lost a big sale & I wouldnt ever shop at another Guitar Center as well as discourage anyone else from doing so.Update: took my business elsewhere 👍💯

This is the smallest guitar center I have been to, but they had a great selection, seemed to be great prices especially on the used gear, and very friendly staff.

I love this place.Im a kid in the candy store, I get lost in everything! They have an amazing selection on just about every subject in the music and every employee as a talent if not multiple of some sort of genre. Best place to come if youve ever wanted to learn about music, someone will know your question or know the question you didnt know you had.

This my 2nd time coming since they moved had to make an exchange and everything i come the sales rep are very helpful and nice. I also like the way they practice safety there by keeping your distance and i really like that they enforce wearing a face mask. 5 Stars in my book! 👍🏾

I went in just to look around, but JP was fantastic and helped me find what I wanted. He was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. It was clear that he valued my business and wanted me to come visit Guitar Center in Athens more in the future. The store was organized well, and there were plenty of opportunities to sample microphones, drums, percussion, etc.

I came into my local Guitar Center to look at buying a new Les Paul. I was greeted by a guy named James. We emediately bonded over our love for Pearl Jam. I enjoyed the conversation so much he ended up selling me a brand new Les Paul!James invited over to his house that night. He showed me his guitar collection and we jammed on Even Flow by Pearl Jam. Let me show you my basement he said. I was ready to go by that time but James seemed to really insist on it so I agreed. As we walked into the basement I saw a giant aquarium but there were no fish? As I approached it to find it was filled with dozens of Barbie dolls dressed in scuba gear and swim wear. Each of them was posed differently throughout the aquarium. Do you want to know their names? James said as he slowly approached me. My favorite is my vintage 1996 Ocean Friends Barbie, I named her Karly. I know her name is Barby but I like to give them special names because theyre all unique. I was ready to go by that point so I made my way back up the stairs but the door was locked. Where are you going Chett? Dont you wanna hear their names? James said as he approached me aggressively. His pupils were dialated and he was sweating profusely at this point. I didnt know what to do so I agreed. We spent the next 5 hours in the basement as James showed me the 42 dolls in his collection. He told me detailed back stories for each doll and even read me a short screen play her wrote for a live action barbie movie. By the time we went back upstairs it was 2 in the morning. You can sleep in the spare bedroom if you want. he said. I declined and quickly left his house. I was so shaken by the experience that I contacted the police next day but was not taken seriously at all. I contacted the manager of guitar center but he told me there was nothing they could do. I would NEVER recommend guitar center to anyone!

Was there with a friend to buy drum brushes. The new arrivals wall was almost empty. The used wall was full. Looks like the economy is not back at least among the local bands.

Great place to buy an instrument. They helped me with my first guitar purchase and I am very pleased with the service I got. They gave good advice and were not pushy about up selling. They asked me if I wanted the extended warranty and when I declined they did not keep pushing it. That is refreshing. Offer it but dont push it, and thats exactly what they did. Thank you. I look forward to purchasing my guitar supplies here in the future.

My family has come in several times to check out keyboards and various other instruments. The staff is approachable, friendly, and helpful, and they dont follow you around the store, even when you have small, running kids. Pretty nice place to get some quick equipment. Im not a huge fan of the variety of guitars offered because it seems that they stick to cheaper or lower end guitars which isnt that bad, but Ive never actually seen many guitars Ive truly wanted. Staff seems a bit dumb sometimes and it seems they just pick up whatever from the street because some look like junkies and kind of have a rude aspect in their personality but of course there are really nice guys there too its just that some make me question how they even got the job in the first place. Still a great place to have for a quick equipment pickup especially if something breaks, you can walk in and out quick with the gear you need.

Great customer service. Huge selection of music equipment for beginners as well a for seasoned musicians. Comparable pricing, plus many, many on sale items every week. Zach is a great store manager and care for his customers.

While there perusing their selection of audio cables, I happened upon a display of studio monitors. I was approached by a young fellow (whos name I cannot right now recall) whom proceeded to encourage me to play some music from my phone through their setup so I could hear the different speakers. (Yes, the Yamahas were the best-sounding, far and away, BTW). He was well-informed about the products he was selling and seemed to enjoy doing it. Kinda pushy, though, which suggested to me very strongly that they are paid on commission. But otherwise a pretty pleasant visit.

Prices are fair, staff is knowledgeable, decent amount of inventory. I like picking out gear after playing it, not buying online. They dont mind you taking your time and picking out what you want, so I dont care if something was a little cheaper online. Its worth the extra money to me to try before you buy.

I go here weekly. The guys here all seem pretty knowledgable and more than willing to help you out, but not in an annoying pushy way. Very chill atmosphere. With most large purchases they can usually even work out some kind of deal with you.

Drove from Atlanta for a used guitar in great condition. Not only did electronics not work, but guitar had cracks in binding and finish completely worn off on portion of back of guitar. If thats great condition Id hate to see good. Waste of time, money, gas, etc.

Friendly staff without being pushy. Seemed like it could have been better stocked. But they were having the guitarathon sale so that could have contributed to limited stock.

Not a place I would normally frequent, but the guitar tech named Mike is awesome!
