Love the meats of The Spotted Trotter! We swing by to pick up the sorghum bacon to treat ourselves. Note, it can be tricky to get into the parking lot if headed from Moreland. Take the left when you can!! Either from Moreland before Memorial, from Memorial at or right after Moreland. Plenty of parking once you get in there!

I love this place!! It is a place with some really good meats and cheeses. The lady that worked there was very informative and patient. I bought the duck prosciutto and it was amazing!! Its a hidden gem on Moreland ave!!

I was excited to find The Spotted Trotter to be my new local happy place for charcuterie, since I haven’t been able to travel to my favorite restaurant in Boston to get my fix of duck prosciutto. Loved the great boutique gem of a spot with housemade sausages, cured meats and a little corner of gourmet goods including tins of seafood like razor clams, scallops and mussels. The haul on my first visit: black cherry pork sausages made fresh in house with port macerated black cherries, garlic, smoky pimenton, Sujuk lamb and beef sumac salami, Genoa salami, and couldn’t resist a tin of razor clams from the market corner in addition to the duck prosciutto I originally went in for. Already went through one pack of prosciutto pre dinner. Can’t wait to try the other items, an then go return for more! As for safety measures, they are allowing only 1 customer in the store at a time, and everyone was masked, so I felt safe. You can also order online for delivery or shipment.

This place is a must visit. In house butcher and smoke curing. Wonderful sausages, beautiful cuts of beef, and cold cuts. The staff was so helpful and friendly, answered all my questions and I had a ton of them. Ill for sure be back

I ordered a charcuterie board for my parents to be delivered to south Florida. They were extremely impressed with the quality of the items and the incredibly fast delivery time. Made some requests on what they liked, gave an address and they said they would take care of it. They weren’t kidding. Awesome product and execution all the way around!! Thank you so much!!

Spotted Trotter really nailed the first impression. At first when walking up they had guests inside and currently with covid they are asking for just one party at a time to be in the lobby so I needed to wait outside. It was cold and they were taking care of a large order so 10 minutes had passed and I peeked in the door to check in and they informed me of the large order and that they would be out as soon as they could to which my time is limited and I mentioned that I had to go. With that they immediately sent Stephen out and he guided me through a charcuterie board with cheese and crackers that all paired well together. Steven showed his knowledge and quickly helped me and put together a great bag with a small sample of another item to try for a future visit. What started out as a cold, uncomfortable wait turned into a great experience and gained them another visit from me and my family.

Meat heaven. The charcuterie selection is very diverse and interesting and everything is fantastic. Magnificent dry aged ribeyes.

Some great meats. My favorite is the burger blend, which is an incredible meat blend for a burger. I find the duck breast and bacon to be a cut above, as well. Service is generally excellent, too. And, yes, you pay a lot for this.

I am SO glad to have found this place. For years Ive had to piecemeal find Spanish embutidos where I can. This was on stop shopping for any kind of sausage you can imagine plus chorizo, but butifarra and morcilla. Thank heaven for this place!

So... I called ahead and said hey y’all got pork spare ribs? Yeah man come on down. I get there they’re like we get our ribs precut and have St. Louis and babyback. I was like so you’re a butcher who gets precut meats??? So confusing, go to evergreen.

I thought this was a cool place as it recently opened up in my neighborhood a few months back. As i was going for my jog i decided to stop by the liquor store then the Spotter Trotter which is next door. Staff was extremely unfriendly I felt very unwelcomed. Staff was also not knowledgable about product as well. Because I eat Whole30 style often I look for food without sugar or sugar substitute. She had no idea what products contained no sugar and the final product she suggested as after I purchased i clearly read on the package that is contains Dextrose, a sugar substitute. I wasted my money trusting the staff whom i deem to be the expert at meats.

Ive never been into a protein shop before so I was intimidated. I walked in while three customers were inside and got pretty quick attention, I would say less than 45 seconds. I told the guy at the counter that I was just checking it out. He quickly walked me through what they were, how they got there and gave me nice detail on meats and how each are different. By now I was the main customer. I was never rushed, I was talked to like a respected consumer. They educated me on prices, what went into each meat, best ways to cook each meat. I was very satisfied with my in store experience. As for the meat, I purchased two sausages, which were very well priced. I followed the advice to cook, and have to say they are amazing. I purchased the black cherry sausage, and the green sausage and have to say they were amazing. Im excited this place is near my house and will use them from this point on. I would say they are nice competition to the Farmers Market and much closer. I rarely give 5 starts and this is a 5 for me.

We spend a lot of time and $$ at numerous butchers from Pine Street to Midtown to Shields and our experience here was utterly horrible. I will never go back. The limited selection coupled with a really bad attitude from the apparently head guy was a huge turn off. I could go on but I dont have the time..

This place is amazing. The sausages are excellent and reasonably priced for local, sustainable fare. Steaks and cheeses can be pricier, but are absolutely worth it, especially for special occasions. The cured meats and jerky are great for spicing up lunches. They also sell crackers, preserves, and other accompaniments.

This place was amazing! The staff was so helpful and you can tell they love their jobs. The selection was phenomenal! Nearly everything was made in house. You have to try it!

A neighbor brought me a gift of the black cherry sausage and it was the very best meat I have had in this country in years!! I just wish they were closer to me, but that will happen soon, I understand.Keep up this outstanding quality and service!

Cool place. I got guanciale that was pretty good by itself, but it had red pepper flakes on it which I thought was strange (the flavor also conflicted with the carbonara that I got the guanciale for).

The company stayed in my house during the Masters Golf tournament. They were extremely rude and disrespectful of myself and my property. DO NOT HIRE for catering.In response to comment. They were pictures of the house that you rented, I also rented to another group the week before you and received nothing but nice comments. It isnt my fault that you didnt look at the pictures of the house before you rented and didnt ask appropriate questions about what was included, like cable. I went to great lengths to clean and prepare the house for you, make it smell nice, leave you chocolates on the bedside table, clean, stain free towels in each room. And then you smear my rental with nasty comments about how it felt like a nasty frat house and it smelled like I was trying to cover something up. Shame on you and God forbid anyone do business with the likes of you. Karma is real. I cant believe I let you into my house and let you sleep in my bed. No, I sold that house but Id never rent any out again after my experience with you. Thanks for showing me the dark underbelly of renting my home to strangers.

Love this place! Great place for high quality meats / salami + also things not easily available elsewhere - e.g. guanciale, good quality bacon etc. Staff is v friendly too.

One of the best places for meat in the city. They are billed as a charcuterie, but they also have some of the best prepared beef too.

I just went here for the first time and bought $30 worth of sausage. I think the quality and selection is great, but the guy at the service counter sucked. I stood around for 5 mins while he chatted with another person in the store, who didnt even buy anything. After I had selected all my sausages, I saw that they had lardo which Ive heard of, but never tried. I asked if I could try it and he blew me off. I dont know if thats their policy or he didnt want to let me try it, but this is the first time Ive been to a meat/deli/butcher place that didnt allow you to sample their food. Most places want you to try their food, because they know youll buy more food if you like it. Im very upset with the customer service.
