Overall it is a good place. The doctor was professional.Disposable face masks are sold at the entrance for $1-2.
Been here several times and have enjoyed it mostly. Try to avoid Dr. Pence. Good doctor, but I’ve had him twice and he has an ugly habit of making continuous, negative comments. Gets pretty annoying when you’ve paid for eye care-not random catty commentary. Lucky the other doctors aren’t like that at all.
Called from another private practice in Kansas about getting trials from Georgia Optometry group for a patient of ours while they were out of town because they forgot their contacts (woops!). Another practice in the area (that started with a C) flat out told us no but Qadra at Georgia Optometry Group was kind enough to check with the doctor to see if she could help us out. They didnt end up having the trials the patient needed but I so appreciated her checking in a very timely manner. Its clear they care about patient care and the patient experience!
Dr. Pence was awesome. Very thorough and profession. I cannot say the same for the receptionist/tech. She was pushy and rude when I refused a contact evaluation. Will not go back because of that experience.
I see Dr Brunner, in Kennesaw, couldnt be happier with the eye care. Ive been a patient for years. Ive referred friends, with problems, and Dr Brunner seems to be well informed in pathology. Helping with eye injuries, infections, etc.
Dr Gary Pence is top notch and very professional. Up to date with latest procedures and products. Staff is very accommodating and professional.
5 STARS- I didn’t have an appointment when I walked in but the ladies at the front desk were very helpful in squeezing me in to see the optometrist. I was seen by Dr. Gary Pence. He was very professional, and yet approachable. Also, He was very knowledgeable and deliberate on determining my vision acuity and appropriate vision correction. He was very patient and thorough. I really appreciated that level of care, especially as a walk-in patient without an appointment. Also, Chaundry, the eyewear specialist, was very nice and awesome. She automatically knew my frame size and choose about four different pairs for me to try. All of them were great frames. Moreover, a couple of days later, I call Chaundry and asked, if it was any way possible, to get my glasses back sooner, for I needed them for work. Normally, it’ takes about 10 day to get them back from the lab, but she was able to get my glasses ‘rush-ordered’ and I got them back the very next day. This is a great office with an exceptional staff of professionals and I would highly recommend them, even if you have to fight traffic to get there . 🤓
Everyone was polite and helpful, even when I became upset because I had misread my insurance policy. I believe I saw Dr. Pence for contacts, but whichever Doctor I saw was very informative and assisted me in picking out some contacts that would be easy for me to wear due to my seasonal allergies.
My familys experience with Georgia Optometry-Dunwoody has been over many years and a change in location for them. We love the office, the particular care that is taken with each patient, and definitely think highly of Dr. Pence and Dr. Spetalnik. I highly recommend.
Dr. Pence is awesome. He is extremely knowledgable and because I am a Physician Assistant Student, he was nice enough to explain things medically and give me cool tips on eye examination and diagnosis. Even better, he explained clearly to me what would and would not work for my unique vision rx. Very happy I chose to come here. Nautica (sp?) and Sofie were great too.
Please dont can take your children here. My three year old has been squinting for a couple of months so I decided to bring him to get it checked. Prior to coming, I specifically asked them if they were used to serving toddlers and was given confirmation by the receptionist. Well, when we began the eye exam, my toddler was in one of his toddler moods (shy, reserved).. because hes a toddler.....Anywho, Dr. Pence began asking him what do you see, and when my son wasnt answering, I tried to ease him by asking the same question. I was immediately told VERBATIM Be quiet! I need to do this by Dr. Pence. I found that to be very disrespectful since I was simply trying to ease my sons reservations. But I humbled myself and continued on because the most important thing was my sons eyes, not my ego. It continued to get worse as Dr. Pence would ask me if my son had a cognitive issue or was born early due to his lack of response. I informed him that was unnecessary and that my son was just fine but that he would do better with me assisting in asking the questions (not answering them of course). To sum up that 30 mins, it was a waste of 10 bucks and I have told every parent in my neighborhood circle as well as at my sons academy not to place their money in that business. Completely unprofessional.
I love the doctors here, and the staff is very friendly.
