This place is a good place to shop for African and Continental food stuff but the rest room is the worst I have ever seen despite the fact I was there by 10am in the morning. The rest room could as well contaminate the whole foodstuffs in the store. The restroom could barely contain one person and very dirty.I couldnt use it because there is neither a hand sanitizer nor hand soap.I will not shop there again because of hygiene reasons. Except if they rebuild the restroom.Flies from the rest room could as well petch on the foodstuffs on the shelf.I wonder how employees wash their hands if there is no hand soap.Soap container is empty.
So my Hubby recently Immigrated to the US🙌🏾, and its been a culture shock for him, literally! No foods he can identify with....but Im his resourceful wife and get him things for egg sauce, Spag, Jollof and Indomie! BUT he was wanting Stew and soups, and I was ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS so I started asking friends and my sister is and educator with many Nigerian students and The New Happy Market was the place to go for ALL THINGS NIGERIAN and Let me tell you WE GOT BABA EVERYTHING from his home country IN THIS STORE I was SO RELIEVED...because I love my Hubby and want him to love his new country and foods do that for us...especially in African American families...food is truly where the heart is! So Ill definitely be making this my number 1 location for my Hubby grocery shopping. The prices were average to mid range, but I say your paying for good quality foods, authenticity, and the convenience of NOT TRAVELING 50 PLUS MILES AWAY into other cities to find Authentic African ingredients! We spent over $100; BUT it will last my Hubby for at least one month or more! We live in Henry county
As much as I love this establishment, in terms of one stop shop, the lady(owner) is arrogant and dismissive! For one thing, I travel 2hrs away because there arent any shops that cater to my needs closer to me, meaning this is the nearest market.Imagine driving 2hrs and youre told the system is down and can only shop with cash or leave without goods. As I made known my concerns (come up with alternative, like cashapp etc... ) to this lady (cant remember her name) in question... shes like Im not the only one affected and bla bla....WTF🤔 (considering my distance, I shop in bulk whenever I go) and to be dismissed like that, was not just hurtful but made it clear my business wasnt welcome!🤷
I like going to this store for my international cooking needs. Although they always seem to have a good variety of things for the average authentic international meal preparer the are also a little more expensive than the other local stores. Thus, if theres a particular item youre looking for and cant seem to find it anywhere else, check them out they are likely to have it. Convenience always wins...
This store has almost everything…I like that they try to be as diverse as possible.
We enjoyed our time here and it has a wide selection.
Great place to shop for different kinds of foods. They are well stock of kinds of fresh fish, herbs and meats.A specialty coconut candies and ginger tea. Stop by an shop you would be in treat.
Staff need to be more warm and respectful to customers.
This became my go to store for international dishes. There is also a wide selection of international meats, goods, fresh produce, bread and other housewares. Friendly staff and very clean
This store was recommended by Pastor Popoola last week for my trip to Atlanta. It is an international store, all different national food are there, especially west African food. The price are almost the same as in New Jersey. Ill tell my family and friends here in Atlanta to go there. I was just surprised that as big as the place is,the bathroom is not equipped with hand soap and wipes despite the pandemic.
My sister and I travelled from Tallahassee to Atlanta Georgia to the New Happy Market with a reputation for stocking, inter alia, exotic African, especially Nigerian Food items. It was my first time in this small market run by a Chinese family. As we entered the market, I was taken a back to see AGÉGE BREAD on the shelf! This is a popular type of Bread in Lagos, Nigeria. As I moved around the shop, I saw Gari Ìjèbú, Olóyin Beans, Pounded Yam flour, Saint Louis Sugar, Peak Powered Milk, roasted peanuts, fresh meat, Tom tom sweet, Ewédú vegetable, Irú (Fermented Locust Beans), Yam, Ose dúdú (Black soap) etc. What! I was flabbergasted. It was like I was back in the popular Òyìngbò Market in Lagos, Nigeria.. Virtually anything you need for Nigerian dishes and beverages are here. Even the popular herbal alcoholic drink ORIGIN is on the shelf! Service was courteous and prompt. No wonder many Nigerians from different parts of Florida and beyond come to this market in Georgia to obtain favourite Nigerian food and household items that you will not encounter in many Conenience stores. The Parking Lot is spacious but somewhat literred. Management should commit more resources to cleaning the surrounding environment. The New Happy Market qualifies as a Tourist attraction for a Nigerian visiting Georgia.
I am very disappointed with this place.. used to be a good place to go get some supplies for the house but I would not be buying items from them anymore services not good for me.. I cant stand for people to act like that.. sad part is I knew these people.. but I shop somewhere else. But thats just my opinion..
Nice place to shop for African food items in Atlanta.
Large inventory of various ethnic foods and condiments. Good prices and great customer service. If you are on the southside, you need to check them out!
Wide variety of African,,,Caribbean,,,Asian foods and spices etc. Good starting point for those looking for home foods away from home!!!
Great international market with produce from Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. Neatly organized and affordable prices.
Good place to get Caribbean and African groceries. A bit pricey...
Easy to find. Courteous staff members
Friendly as always great selection
I like to shop here for my family needs, especially the assorted meats. The prices are fairly okay and the quality of the produce are good. However, the cutters are overworked, so theyre always under intense pressure. But on a good day theyre respectful and carry out their duties timely. The front door is not in the best shape as well, those guys never have the time to show that they are dealing with human being because of too much pressure on them. One thing that I dislike most in this store is the bathroom. Please, get your bathroom cleaned and let it smell nice!!!
Great selection on international goods
Can be better
Nice place to purchase international grocery especially African food.
They have a large selection of African/Asian food. The staff is always nice but items are overpriced and there is always potholes in the parking lot, damaging the car.
No customer service, it stinks.
A good place to go to find hard item u do see in a grocery store
We shop at this location 2-3 times a month. They always have what we need. Great place to find international items not found in the larger chains. Great family owned market.
They have most African food here.
Great place for African foods, chicken, turkey meat sea foods raw and fresh. This is a one stop for shopping. Vegetables, Peppers of all types are available, fresh, frozen and cheap. You get everything you want. Friendly and efficient staff. They have Jute leaves fresh and frozen while many others dont have at this summer time
Could of been better
Amazing place for African/Jamaican/Mexican groceries. If you are one of those cultures, this place is a dream Land to bond with your culture (and your tummy) and if youre an American, heres a nice place to try new things
Dark, no lights smelly inside not clean
Readily available good African food. Courteous staff

Nice people, I got everything I needed
I always get my African food stuff from there but expensive
Smells awful, floors not clean. They have a wide variety of meats, produce, products you cant find many places but its not clean in there. When you walk by the meats it smells rancid. Not a place I would trust buying anything from especially with the covid pandemic.
Well stocked with African food... and Caribbean
They have Ingredients for Nigerian food.
I was recommended here based off of an item I normally would have to drive an hour away to get. Decided to give them a call and the A-hole who answered the phone was RUDE as heck!!! I asked did they have the item in stock. He mentioned no, I then proceeded to ask if he knew when they would restock the item. He abruptly stated no. I said would you please mind asking an associate if they would know? He said ma’am look, I don’t know there schedule. They come they come, they don’t they don’t. HOW RUDE!!!!! The reason I called was because the person who recommended me stated they come every Tuesday. Well why ask him you say? Well that’s because she stated she hadn’t been there in over a year and it may have changed! Well one thing for sure is that hour commute just kept their customer!!!
Nice place to your food shopping.
It is always a pleasure shopping here. I always get everything I want and I dont miss home much. Thank u.
