I always find something new when I visit. This is my spot for incense & burning oils, but I always leave with more than I came for. They are known for their music, of which I have found no better selection. However, they have books, clothes, home decor, beauty products, jewelry, and more! Ive had to start keeping track of my book collection so I dont make double purchases lol. The owner and his team are amazing and it always feels like home, there. Dont forget to check out their classic movie selection

Spotted this shop one evening when it was closed. Made the effort to come back and sooo glad I did! I was looking for souvenirs to take back to Cali but not your cookie cutter type of gifts. Mood music came through! Got cool T-shirt’s, funky earrings and a bookmark that my daughters tutor will keep forever. These are the types of gifts I was looking for. Mood Music is the illest store, guaranteed to fit your lane for good music comprising soul, reggae, your old-school R&B and the whole nine. Please believe, I just left there looking for one CD and ended with two. But holy, because at any given time you might find Eric Roberson, Dwele, or any one of your favorite artists giving a talk. I went into this store as I heard there was a vegan bakery inside. Unfortunately it was closed in that day. We looked around the store and it had some great things in there. From wooden earrings to cds and clothing. They have some great items for little people too. I will be back to pick up a few things. Keep up with the great job.

Stopped in randomly because we came for the bike store nearby on our way up to Tennessee. This place is a vibe, it just feels good inside. One of my fav spots..the music collection here is bananas. There are t-shirts, candles, tea, lotions and potions, art, jewelry and so much moreDaryl the owner is a sweetheart. There are 3 rooms...1. Moods music. 2. Is the soul village area where there are gifts, books and things..the 3 room is for late night performance and shows. I have been shopping out of this store for over 20yrs. The vibe there is so beautiful, the owner is always helpful.

The atmosphere at Moods Music was so inviting. They have different genres of music playing as you browse through the store for merchandise. The vibes here are unmatched! I could literally sit in this place, read or vibe to the music for hours on end. They also have an area in the back where First Batch Artisan Foods serve Vegan Sunday Soul Food dinners and ice cream. This made my day!

Unfortunately I have to share my negative experience with moods music as a vendor. I too had been a patron of Moods Music since the early 2000’s so late last year when Moods offered small vendors a pop up shop opportunity I jumped at the chance. Mr. Daryl states that he loved my product and offered me a consignment opportunity which I eagerly accepted. Shortly there after as I began to do business Mr. Daryl’s tone, presence and treatment of me declined and became increasingly disrespectful. On several occasions his behavior was rude and curt. I have and was always respectful to Mr. Daryl but I’m not sure what the issue was. If you are an independent vendor I suggest not doing a consignment agreement with this this establishment. You are better off creating mutual business partnerships with genuine and respectful business owners. Unfortunately he isn’t one. I wish the store all the success and best in business moving forward but Mr. Daryl’s selective treatment of individuals is and was very offensive.

I love this store. Really do. Best record shop with an amazing Black music selection in all of Atlanta in my opinion. But on three occasions Ive experienced not being communicated with by whoever was working the register that day, my guess unfortunately being homophobia. When I, a feminine presenting woman, go in by myself things are generally fine. Small conversation is sparked, Im greeted, and Im asked if I need help, etc. However when I am visiting with a masculine presenting or trans partner/friend were given a noticeable cold shoulder. Were stared at but not greeted, were not attended to, were practically invisible. Its so off-putting because the selection is great, the store is beautiful, and I love supporting Black businesses. Im not sure if the store supports homophobic views, but I think whoever is at the register (its not the same person every time) should be kinder to all customers regardless of their personal beliefs.

I love Moods Music. The owner and employees are music lovers so the good vibes are what you get when you walk in the door. I have purchased an old Donna Summer album, unique CD mixes and original music form Moods. Also, I have attended alot of the events there with lively discussions, performances and DJ sets. Moods is so vital to our community and there are additional spaces with clothing and other merchandise. You have to check it out!

Incense are a good thing. Very ethereal shop. Like stepping into tomorrow musically, but emotionally nostalgic. The proprietors know and have all the latest in lounge, electronica, soul, future-soul, hip-hop (real), and classics. CD, and vinyl available. Most, if not all can be heard before purchase. I paid $35 for Jazzy nights to see jazz singer Jasmine. Supposedly it included a glass of wine - which I never received. She could really sing but she came out and sang ONE song and said im going to give everyone their money back! The show was listed at starting at 7pm bit didnt start until 8:30 ( that would have been a good time to serve wine while we waited for an hour and a half. Im still waiting for my $35 back! Dont go!!!

I go here at the weekends for the best vegan ice cream served up by First Batch. Whilst being blissed out by the ice cream the music playing in the store has great grooves.

Bening the crate digger I am, I was a little disappointed with the small selection of vinyl. But with in that small selection I still managed to find two gems So that says a lot.They might not have everything, but what they have is worth digging through...and the vibe over all is nice.

I went in for the first time about a month ago and the people in there were just so calm and welcoming. Usually people are pressed for time in stores like these and want you hurry up and buy something but I didnt feel pressured at all, I actually felt really peaceful. Looking at all of the art and listening to the music!!

Moods Music is not just a music store, its a lifestyle shop. Im always able to add to the soundtrack of my life while immersing myself in culture...with a tshirt, a book, or movie and more. Moods has it.

I hope this place never goes away. Its an institution at Little 5 Points. Its black-owned and the music selection is incredible. I saw limited release vinyls from Digable Planets and Outkast last time I went. Theres also a section with books and apparel. Plenty of authors like Hurston, Baldwin, Abdurraquib and Michelle Obama. Theres even a section with natural soaps, shea butter and incense. Its a one-stop shop for mood setting. Maybe thats how it got the name.
