With live music coming back soon my road worn and battle hardened rig needed some serious attention - between microphonic tubes, a scorched ribbon cable and torn speaker cone things were looking grim. Bill got everything ship shape and stage ready with a super quick turnaround time at an extremely reasonable price. Ill be going back ASAP for a full overhaul on the cosmetics as well. I Cant thank Bill and Acorn enough! Ill definitely be back for all of my amplifier maintenance and restoration needs.

These guys had my crackling tube amp fixed way before the quoted time frame. They called me to let me know what was wrong before proceeding with any work, which was great. They cleaned my amp, replaced all my tubes, and strengthened up some weak solder joints and only charged me 45 minutes of labor plus parts. I am glad I chose to bring my amp here and certainly will in the future.Oh, and I must mention theyre super nice, in-person and over the phone.

I found Acorn Amplifiers on through a Google Search and had been looking for a place to take one of my favorite Guitar Amps the Fender Ramparte to have modified. This amp is one of the coolest amps I have owned and I had put a G12 Heritage Speaker in it a few years ago but it lacked clarity and the ability to adjust treble or bass, and I wanted more head room. So I had Acorn completely redo the circuits to make it very similar to a Princeton reverb putting it from 9watts to 14watts and adding treble and bass controls pots. The completed job was perfect. This is now a very clean machine and they even when to the detail of relabeling the top for the new controls. I am very happy with the end result and will continue to use Acorn Amplifiers as my go to place for guitar amp repair and mods.

Brought my amp in to get fixed, and Bill was genuine, professional, and honest with me about the repairs that needed to be done. He gave me a realistic estimate of the turnaround time, and told me he would follow up with any details. Bill called me a few days later and told me he would order the part for me, install it, and let me know when it was ready. When it picked it up he let me try it out and it sounded wonderful. Definitely check them out!

They got my old Fender Blues Deville sounding incredible, but I was most struck by how friendly and honest they were.I was given the option to only pay for what was needed, but opted to do even more restoration work to get it in as good of shape as possible. Money well spent. Ill be back!

There is a reason why Acorn Amplifies is ubiquitous among Atlanta/North GA musicians. Professional, affordable, helpful and kind. Really great custom gear too.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Acorn Amps! They are professional and very skillful, and yet also very warm and easy to work with. I dont ever have a need to compare, because they exceeded all of my expectations. I brought my OLD and awesome amp to them and in a short time they had an estimate and then had it fixed. They kept me informed, They could have fleeced me because of my great need and lack of knowledge of the innards of the amp. It was hundreds of dollars less than I expected and the work was top notch! If you have an amplifier or pedal need you really would be doing yourself a disservice to not go to Acorn Amps.

I brought my amp in for repairs. I needed it quickly because of an upcoming gig. With a rush fee, they were able to turn it around in just a few hours and my amp sounds like new. Bill helped me and did the work - he did a great job. I love the vibe of this place and they are all about the highest quality work. I will be going back whenever I need work on my amps.

Fastest turnaround in all of Atlanta.Tyler, the engineer (the ORIGINAL Tyler the Creator), is the best. He is the most knowledgeable, driven, and friendliest tech you could ever hope to meet. You can tell within a minute of speaking with him that he has a passion for amplifiers and takes great pride in his work. I had my amp back in a week sounding better than when I first bought it. He also builds his own beautiful custom tube amps and effects pedals.Acorn Amps is the only place I will bring my gear from now on.

Is it related to music and does a current flow through it? These guys can probably fix it for an affordable price.Turnaround is pretty good, and Im almost positive they can accommodate rush orders for a price. Theyre great with customer service and are able to relate some pretty technical things back down in to terms for the lay person when need be.If nothing else, stop by and ask to check out the custom amps they build. They sound gorgeous.

Acorn Amps is by far the best music store of any kind I have ever dealt with, and honestly probably one of the best businesses in general that I have ever used. Most music stores can’t answer one simple question without being pretentious. The owner just talked with me about amp for probably 10 minutes and helped me understand stuff better, there’s NO BENCH FEE, and they’re some of the nicest people ever. I could not recommend this business more, and I’ll never go to any other amp tech!

The night before a gig, wouldnt ya know it-I blew a tube in my amp. Day of the gig, I stop in to see what my options for re-tubing are and, imagine my surprise when Bill tells me he can have it fixed in an hour for an extra $20! No brainer! Professional job, reasonably priced, personable staff- whats not to like? Recommended 100 times over.

I wanted to do the work myself on my (ageless) Fender Blues Deville which was on the fritz (already swapped the tubes to no avail), and decided to bring it to a pro, and Im glad I picked Acorn - extremely conscientious and personable, did a super professional job on my amp which is now rock solid. Amazed by what he(/they?) are working on in the shop. Lots of cool customization, well crafted cabinets etc... The turn around was about a week, and I was called when it was ready. I probably could have asked for sooner but wasnt in any hurry. I will definitely consult Tyler when I have or want more amp needs. Very satisfied customer.

I have had numerous amp repairs from Tyler at Acorn Amplifiers and have always received stellar service. He is friendly, extremely knowledgeable, will take the time to explain what is happening with my gear and give me multiple repair options. I have dealt with many techs in the past but none compare to the level of service this dude provides.I recently had him build me a 50 watt shredder that sounds like the gods have awaken the beast. Its everything I every wanted in a tube amplifier and more. Listen to this dude and give him the opportunity to help you out with your gear.

Great service, extremely reasonable cost. Had JJ tubes put in my amp for under half the cost of a nearby competitor. Got to play their custom built amp while I waited, which was a treat. The Acorn amp was the most touch sensitive (can go from clean to crunch just from picking intensity) amp Ive ever played. From YouTube videos Ive seen of the Trainwreck Komet 60, it seems to have the same kind of touch sensitivity at a fraction of the price. Acorn staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. As an aside, I was debating whether replacing the sovtek 5881s with JJs would make a difference. The difference was dramatic, to my surprise the JJs broke up sooner. As I had hoped the break up was smoother and more harmonic. I dont know if it was because the Sovteks where old, out of bias, bad batch, or if the JJs are just that much better but Im glad I did it.

This is the only person I trust with my equipment. Period! Not only has Acorn built and repaired my guitar gear but when I was traveling I would call Tyler and he would walk me or other technicians through fixes. You cannot get service like that anywhere!! Acorn built my custom amp that is the most beautiful piece of equipment I have run across both atheistically and aurally. I have one concern though, how can one man have so much power? Is this like a highlander situation? Is Tyler systematically killing other amp builders to gain their power and become the only one, true builder? I guess I am safe but if you are in the business be afraid! If he enters your shop with a sword only one may leave.
