This place is amazing. Best orange juice Ive ever tasted. They have dairy free orange ice cream that is to die for. They make wines and jams and mustards. You can buy straight oranges. If your anywhere around here its a must visit!!

Fun stop with lots of history. Free taste of their unbelievably delicious orange juice (so much flavour!), and dont miss the ice cream. Such a treat :) Plenty of local honey to choose from, with a good selection of souvenirs and general store products, too. Absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area. Grab a cone of orange soft serve and relax for a minute on the front porch!

It would be a great place if they were actually open during their posted hours. Hours posted on Google Maps and on a sign posted to the right of the door states they are open Thursdays. from 9:00 AM to 5 PM. That is the second time I drove over 35 miles, one way, to find the place closed at 9:35 AM.

A small country store with excellent orange ice cream. The place has lots of character with rockers and a swing on the front porch to sit and relax while enjoying the treats!

Saw your business on Channel 13 one tank trips so we drove to your place arrived at at 4:10 Saturday as the girl was closing. she said she decided to close early, I asked if she couldnt at least get us a cup of Ice Cream, she said she was sorry but couldnt accommodate us. Its great to have laid back country approach but besides not being professional. I think its inexcusable.

What a nice place to stop and visit to hear some Florida history. The ice cream was amazing. The OJ was like what we used to make with my dad (who is also a Floridian who as a young man worked with his mother at the Packing Plant in Largo). I love Florida history. I love my State!!!

We always enjoy getting to Maxwells. They have a variety of gifts and ice cream,soft serve and hand dipped Hersheys. Soft serve today was vanilla, Key lime and lemon. The Key lime was delicious!

Stopped here as part of my drive up the Lake Wales ridge after finding it on another site, and Im glad I stopped, I love the old building and it was cool to see the old orange sizing equipment still in use, all of our old plants like that have all long been closed in the Pinellas area, I also had a vanilla / orange swirl ice cream which was good, reminded me of when I was younger at the stores I mentioned. Its fairly hidden back and you probably wont just stumble across it unless you set a route for it first.

I’ve had family in Avon Park for over 30 years and every visit must include a trip to Maxwells for orange ice cream and juice. There are a few other places that sell orange ice cream, but none compare to this. I’ve been told that it is under new management now, but everything is just as good as ever. There’s a great selection of gift items and let’s not forget the main reason for the business...the fruit! Needless to say, it’s delicious, and they will ship anywhere. Something new I noticed on my recent visit is a special room set up for a daily wine tasting. I didn’t get to participate in that, but there’s always next time! You can’t possibly be disappointed with a trip to Maxwells!

What a unique, charming and fun place to get some awesome ice cream (we got the soft serve Creamsicle which was sooooo good), or just browse the fruit based wines and jams, preserves, soaps....the list goes on folks. For 45.minutes I felt like I was on vacation and what a surprising gift that was. Check this place out. You wont be sorry.

WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS PLACE. I always saw the signs while driving to high school but never really knew what it was. Just went for the first time ever and bought two bottles of local wine and the best orange swirl ice cream ever. I AM IN LOVE and I feel robbed of the time I couldve spent here had I known about it. Cant wait to go back and buy all the amazing homemade jams and marmalades!Maxwells Grove is amazing and I hate that I never knew about it when I lived in AP.

Just stopped by for some orange juice and ended up leaving with wine, snacks, ice cream, orange juice and jelly. They have ice cream (home made, non-dairy) that makes Ben and Jerry taste like card board!! Worth the visit to those that have never been, Im a local and visit as often as I can.

A little gem tucked away in Avon Park, FL

Great little hidden gem of a place. Real old Florida feel because its been family owned since 1935. Fresh fruit in season and the store sells lots of unique treats.

Cant get much fresher than this. They sell OJ that was squeezed that day or close to it and the oranges and other citrus fruits picked no more than a day or two ago. They have fantastic (if not a little pricey) orange and vanilla flavored soft serve ice cream that is absolutely delectable. Plus plenty of local specialties (raw honey, gator jerky). Definitely worth the detour if youre in Sebring.
