My Library of Alexandria. They are my last resort for local buys, only because of distance to travel. The staff has never let me down on good deals, fantastic response, and top quality cards. They held on to my lost portfolio for a whole year, recognized me my next visit, and returned it without loss. Those people deserve high praise. Went in there today to buy some cards the guy that helped us, Joe, was really nice. He even complimented my face mask and was concerned about my well being. Will definitely be back!

I visited this place for the first time yesterday with my gf. Were both interested in board games and cards. No employees acknowledged us at all when we came in or even when we were browsing at the card game section. I had questions about booster boxes and pricing but the employees seemed to be ignoring us. I flagged down the woman working there but she had no idea about pricing of items sitting on their own shelves and display cases. While she was looking up the price of a few items elsewhere I had a quick question and saw another employee behind the counter stocking. I flagged him down and he responds with what and looked absolutely bothered. The only positive experience is a different employee who answered our question about a board game enthusiastically and with a smile. I spent $100 and bought a board game and booster box but shouldnt have as the vibe is off-putting and the staff is bothered by your presence. Not a good place for new comers.

Ive only been there a couple times but the same guy I see is always helpful. I went in to get my first commander deck today and was instantly helped. Its quite a drive for me to go there but ill definitely return soon.

Best MTG store in the valley and its not close. Joe, Andrew, and Melissa have forgotten more about magic than most players will ever know, and they have answered each of my hundreds of questions throughout the years. They have 99% of singles in stock, all the sealed product you could want, and their prices are based off current market rate. They have always treated me more than fair from a pricing standpoint. I cant wait until events finally open up again.Ill never need another collectors shop so long as Play or Draw is around.

This place sucked. Sure it has a great collection of yugioh magic and pokemon cards but most are expensive and not very welcoming to new players a great way to deter new players away from playing these games. They dont have a solid method of keeping track of what cards they have in stock and players have to wait long peroids of time for them to search their inventory. At least other card shops would let players go through their inventory, that way people might find other helpful cards for their decks.The prices for their inventory is jacked up as well. Way too overpriced thats not even worth purchasing. Save your money and go somewhere else. Not only that but the booster box i purchased from them had signs of being tampered with. Never coming here ever again.

Play or Draw is one of the best TCG stores Ive visited in the multiple states Ive lived in or visited.A few great things about this store below:1. Great Staff. The folks who run this store are great and very easy to deal with.2. They have an amazing selection of cards. As an MTG player there has never been a time that Ive submitted a list of cards and they didnt have what I was looking for, even more obscure cards, which for a smaller store when compared to internet giants that is amazing and for that an incredible resource.3. They are very fair in their pricing.4. Are willing to pull large lists of singles and do so in an extremely timely fashion.5. A huge selection of productsFrankly I wish more stores operated like Play or Draw but thankfully this store exists in the area and I could not recommend it more.

Lady was telling us we couldnt return a product when we found a better price right after buying then there was a guy working with her saying that they could. We managed to get the refund but the lady was complaining that the price difference wasnt very much. Makes me iffy about going again.

Not a fan of card shops but gave this place a try only cause they had a rare card I wanted. Service was terrible employee seemed to not care along with scalper prices for everything! They also go off TCGplayer median price even though their condition of the card doesnt match those prices, dont expect to make a return here

Called store multiple times on different occasions and same guy answered, has no idea what they have in stock or any knowledge?? How can anyone be expected to make a trip to this store to spend money when the employee is uninformed.

Good place to go buy your cars then Pokemon cards Yu-Gi-Oh Magic and some other board games

This game store is aimed more towards cards. We found some miniatures and board games but alot of stuff isnt priced. It took a second to get help. When we did get help the cashier said the price of minatures would be about $100, then did a long pause, as if he was waiting for us to change our minds, then proceeded to say, ok let me get on the computer to look...Then the person helping us, told us the price miniature boxes pricing was based off what it was selling on ebay. And gave us the price of what it was currently going for on ebay. Found that pretty odd? An off the wall thing, they sell frisbees for frisbee golf.

They said they had pretty much every mtg card. They were right!

This place has the an awesome selection of tabletop games as well as miniatures. Theyre main focus seems to be MTG and other trading card games as they have a ton of sleeves, deck boxes, and binders. If there is a magic the gathering card you want, they will more than likely have it in an appropriate amount! Highly recommend for players of all kinds!

I usually have nothing but great things to say about this place. They got me into tcg collecting and I appreciate that. However, I have noticed a decline in product quality since the card shortages started.I bought an Elite trainer box today for 70(only 20 or so above msrb, not terrible. I went home, opened it, and found all my packs had some weird glue marks at the bottom. I opened them anyway and the pull rates were abysmal, even for pokemon standards. Only 1 rare pull that was not a normal rare rarity card(basically no alt art, v, vmax, etc).This combined with the card packages seeming off leads me to think something fishy is going on with the supplier. I know its not the shops fault but this is an issue that cant be ignored.

Best store for MTG in the valley

I live in Phoenix but I literally drive out of my way to come visit this place in Avondale. By far one of my absolute favorite gaming shops to frequently visit.

2 stars because Ive HAD good experiences before ..... But idk THEY complain about scalpers but I ask about the prices and every PRICE IS 100% MORE than usual. Boxes with three packs 40-50 pikachu v boxes that retail for $20 .. easy $50 out the door more than twice as anybody else. Not sure if this is even LEGAL but ay if you want to buy STAY AWAY GO TO WALMART TARGET OR PRETTY MUCH ANY OTHER STORE . Worth the wait and makes it more fun when you do find . Sold some cards here. The staff were very pleasant and courteous and were done very quickly. Lots of selection for TCG as well as board games and miniatures. Also, very clean and conscious given the pandemic.

Ive seen phoenix gaming shops come and go. Ive been to countless tournaments and conventions. ..... this is the best gaming store Ive ever been to. Knowledgeable, engaging, friendly staff. Amazing selection. Plenty of room for tournaments and open gaming. And a great established community of local gamers that play, teach, and expand all types of games. A must visit location.

Not a good place for new customers

I have to honestly say this is the best card shop in the valley. They accommodate absolutely everything. Its spacious, bathrooms are clean, merchandise is superb, drinks and snacks on standby, and the staff truly care about your experience. Its as if every time I walk in Im apart of the family. This is the go to place hands down. Recommend 10 out of 10 💯 always.

Me & my bf thought it would be cool to check this place out. We didnt know what to expect since we didnt look it up online, just thought we would take a look. We are huge collectors of Pops, comics, movies, books, video games etc. & The one store we really enjoyed closed down unfortunately. So when we walked in we were super surprised because it wasnt anything we were familiar with at all (from what we saw). The tables where people were playing cards, was completely full. Pretty much everyone went quiet when we came in, & looked at us. No one said anything (including the people working there). We looked around for a couple minutes but felt uncomfortable & decided to leave. Im not upset that they didnt have anything we usually buy, because thats not their fault. It just felt awkward. I would have liked to ask some questions but Im a pretty introverted person & the fact that no one said anything & everyone at the tables gave me uncomfortable looks, definitely just made us want to go. Not the place for us.

One of the best places in the valley to buy Magic The Gathering card singles--they have a huge variety and will most likely have the card youre looking for. In addition to card singles, they sell sealed products (booster backs, pre-constructed decks, etc) and accessories. Their bin of bargain deck boxes is a great way to get a deck box for an affordable price if youre not looking for a specific style or image. Highly recommended.

Great store and great atmosphere. I came in about noon to just play one game with a friend. There was plenty of open seating and tables to play on. I didnt check much of the inventory but I did purchase an X-wing miniature for my game while I was there. The selection for X-wing miniatures was decent and was fairly priced for small expansion packages. It was Saturday and there was about four other groups there playing cards. If anyone is up for x-wing I would recommend playing here as well.Message me on yelp if you want to play a laid-back game on a weekend.

Ive been coming here for three years now, and I can tell you that this is, bar none, the best game store in The Valley. They have over 99% of magic cards, a great selection of dice and other gaming supplies Karma and are owned by true gamers. Also, they have the best prices and can order anything you need! The stores play area is huge and it is a tidy operation as well. Definitely give them a look.

I liked this store. As a former MTG player I am mindful of when I would see bad environments. It seemed clean enough and the play area did not look constricted. They also seem to offer fair buy prices.

Out visiting family over the winter and was looking for a store to play some Magic at while here. I had searched online and found another store, but happened to see this one while out and stopped in. SO GLAD I DID.The staff are helpful, they offer a wide selection of board games, minis, Magic cards and supplies, and a ton of table space to play. As a disabled person, was extremely happy to see their bathrooms are wheelchair-friendly and clean. The other players there are very friendly and welcoming to new people to the store.Ive been back for multiple events and already planning my next visit. Hoping to try to get back and board game a bit as well. If looking for a great store in the West valley area, definitely stop in!

Best place to buy or sell cards by a country mile. The most down to earth people Ive met in a long time run it. They give you significangly more for trade ins than you can get elsewhere. Card selection is phenomenal.

I love shopping for booster packs here. They have current and older expansions available and they are a good deal. I havent ever stayed to play or anything but I go in quite often to buy booster packs. The staff usually seems pretty busy with things but they are always friendly when I ask for help or have any questions.

Plenty of seating, best prices, unbeatable selection. Vaulted ceilings, which is very important to avoid heat in AZ. Also, they have an optimized camera monitoring system- that keeps players and customers safe. On top of that, the guys running the place are cool!

The place itself is kinda blah. Youre not really coming here for the atmosphere. Most of the staff was unpleasant; it didnt seem like they cared to help with my questions on pricing. The young lady that works there was very friendly, however, and she definitely the shopping trip worthwhile. The selection is great, plenty of stock for card games and accessories (sleeves, boxes, mats). Also a decent selection of board games from what I saw. I just wish the staff didnt seem like they hated working there.

Awesome find! I had my Magic cards stolen from me over 20 years ago. Been slowly rebuilding but had issues finding the last two. Found them tonight! Very happy!

Great store, its a bit out of the way for me living in Glendale, but compared to the shop closest to me, lets just call then manajerks, this place is amazing. They have always had the cards that I am looking for at a great price. Amazing staff, service can be understandably slow at times, when youre searching through a huge inventory for specific cards on a buy list that can be time consuming, but they still try to get to you quickly if you need something simple and quick. The atmosphere is great and the people that come to play are typically very friendly.

I had a very positive experience here! The staff was very friendly and acknowledged me while they were helping other customers. They found the cards I was looking for quickly and the prices are very fair. Their cases didnt have very singles but I think they keep everything in back. Their selection of sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats was huge! One of the largest Ive seen in any store. If I lived closer lt would definitely become my go to games store.

Great store with the easily the largest collection of magic cards in the state. If you are looking for a specific card, I can almost guarantee they have it. Ive also never had a bad experience with these guys. Theyre always friendly to me and Ive always left their store happy. I would definitely recommend them.

Easily one of the BEST Magic the Gathering shops around! Great prices, selection, and staff its THE place to go if youre a fan of card games or tabletop games. But the best part of the experience is the hot girl they have working there who actually knows and PLAYS the games herself (and kicks ass at it too).

Their staff was extremely helpful in finding the games and cards I was looking for, as well as answering questions I had about their products. Good sized store that accommodates for most games. Not many selections in store for card sleeves which is why i went there in the first place but the selection of D&D figures was extensive. I wish they had more loose Magic the gathering cards to look through because Im trying to rebuild an old deck

The feeling you get when you walk into the store is like a kid in a candy shop. Im by no means an expert magic player but Im also not a casual so Ive definitely been to a few different stores to see which has the best prices and selections and Play or Draw has definitely set the bar high.Theres a huge freakin wall of booster packs going back several sets (Im talking about years ago), not just what is standard which is not something Ive seen at any other stores. Also they dont charge tax which is nice.Theyre definitely not lying when they say they have 99.9% of all cards. As a matter of fact if you ask them for a particular card theyll simply reply with how many do you need?. Whether its a deck list, a single foil, or a bunch of random commons. Theyll have it in good condition.Me and my wife definitely enjoy shopping here for magic cards. However, on busier days such as Friday nights when its packed with people you might need to look for one of the employees, but theyll still be happy to help.Oh and they sell frisbees too. 11/10 would shop here again.

Nice shop, clean and inviting. Did not like the attitude of the employees though. Seemed more concerned about themselves and acted like it was a hassle to look at some old card I brought in. They told me my mint condition cards were all garbage. Even though they may not be worth much you dont tell a collector their collection is trash. Have some respect! I came in to get an opinion and I got well more than I asked for.

Great gaming area for tabletop games, Magic, Warhammer, and even standup tables. They have a really good selection of new Magic decks, packs, starters, and lots of singles. They have a really strong selection of tabletop games and other card games like Munchkin.

The only bad reviews im seeing are from like, annoying moms who are like well SQUACCKK its not mom and baby friendly SWQUAACCK WHERES THE MERLOT and dudes who think their cards sentimental value makes the car worth more. Yall have a great thing goin here, the lady that said it smelled has a baby i remember her face from her review profile pic. The place stunk cause her babies diaper was LOADED, but blame the comic shop go ahead lol
