Professional & cool. Love this place.

These people are really lazy and not especially client oriented. I purchased three items in a lot at this house, and it refused to re-auction two of the items saying it was too much work. The three items were approximately of equal value. Good auction houses are much more accommodating to their customers. I never have had a request of this kind denied by an auction house before.

I love everything they do. I love almost everything they sell. And I especially love how I am always treated like a valued client. The world should take notice: THIS IS HOW TO OPERATE A PERSONAL SERVICE BUSINESS!

Ive been buying here for the last 7 years. Absolutely THE best place to buy at auction. Always full of great pieces and the auction house is 100% honest and upfront. I buy with complete confidence here. Never had a bad buy in 7 years and hundreds of purchases! Highly recommended

My husband went there for the 1st time on Dec 3rd. He spoke nothing but good things about this place and the people that worked there. He purchased a German field radio which he was very pleased to have won on his very 1st auction. Can you please let me know when will it be the next one.Happy buyer

The Hudson Valleys premier auction house. Everyone on staff is friendly and will answer your questions to the best of their knowledge. The auctions moving quickly and honestly. And Ive gotten more than a few steals here. Im local, not some disgruntled chiseler from out of state.

I have been buying from Neal since I was a very green teenager. I find that he is the most scrupulous, most honest auctioneer with whom I’ve ever had the pleasure of doing business. In the used business few things are perfect but I’ve found him to be quite honest in representing things as they are and not succumbing to wishful thinking about questionable goods.

I have consigned with HVA for years. They go above and beyond for their clients. Always helpful and knowledgeable . Neil, Theo and Erika are professional and courteous. I found a piece for sale through HVA. I bid and bid and bid as I NEEDED this specific piece. After winning (and paying slightly over what it was worth) I was dismayed to have it appraised by my own expert and find it was a fake. A well done fake, but a fake none the less. I contacted HVA and their response was that “The responsibility of determining authenticity of all items falls on the bidder. We are not responsible for determining fair value or condition of any item. We are simply a middle man between the buyer and owner.”So basically I’m out thousands of dollars because a “reputable” auction house doesn’t feel the need to verify or stand behind their own in-house appraisal expert.

The art piece I bought labeled Raza in the description was actually Zaza Meuli. He won’t approve my registrations now over 1 piece that I was hesitant to buy. Look into the items yourself don’t trust descriptions.

Sometimes it might appears 2b a decent dealer, while other times it will show other side: Horrible service, and terrible way of treating customers...There is no fair nor right way here in terms of products/service from them. Pl. keep away from this auctioneer, or be extremely careful here..

These folks either dont know their antiques or are scam artists. I gently corrected them the other day that one of their listings was a (rather obvious) fake. They insisted that they were experts in the particular field of antiques and that they were real. I mean, mistakes are easy to make -- but willful ignorance is hard to take.

Watch out for these scam artists! they will try and sell an item and want to get paid TWICE for it! they resold an item i won at auction and then STILL tried to demand that i pay them for it after they had already given it to someone else and collected money from them for it. they then turned around and (under what grounds im still trying to figure out) tried to hard ball me into paying them for their invoice.,....paying them FOR WHAT? you gave the trunk to someone else. total ripoff artists

Absolutely dreadful, disgraceful experience. My privacy was breached unapologetically and then service was denied. They think they have the right to ‘background’ check you, research your past, call associates, violate your rights just to participate in what seems to me like a trash box garbage dump of an auction. They found that someone said I owed them 175 dollars and so they rejected me. Again, think about this- based on hearsay regarding 175 dollars owed to someone else for nothing apparently, service was denied to me.I feel the pain of the distraught. reviewer below (under the fake positive reviews) that describes their experience of racism and prejudice here. It’s 2019. If a place like this wants to sell online and to a wide audience, then it’s time to leave small-mindedness, prejudice, fear and discriminatory practices behind.
