Dr. Johannes and her staff are absolutely wonderful. Of the several eye doctors I have seen over the years she is the friendliest, most professional, informative and caring eye doctor I have been to. Its a shame our family didnt find her sooner. I would highly recommend Dr. Johannes and her staff over any office in town.

The worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctor appointment. My 13 year old daughter wanted Contact Lens, as she has been wearing glasses since she was 7 years old. My daughter has anxiety and wont even take Tylenol because she thinks it will kill her Liver. The doctor has no bedside manner and was rude the entire time. My daughter cried through the entire exam. The doctor pretty much told her if she got her contact lens wet she would go blind. Well.....my daughter wasnt going to take a chance on going blind. We left there with no contacts or glasses, and I cancelled my appointment as well. I wore contact lens for 30 years and have never been treated this way. I know they have to tell you everything that could happen, but it can be told in a better way. This appointment ruined our entire day. The whole experience was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!

Absolutely amazing experience! Reasoning for each step was throughly explained by the Doctor and the staff was very patient with me as I tried contacts for the first time. The lady that assisted me was very patient and honest with me about all of my options which I found to be very refreshing. They arent just out to make money and I can appreciate that!

Most amazing help I ever received getting glasses. I highly encourage coming to see this woman if you need new glasses! He will be happy when you leave♥️

I was very nervous about the news she was giving me but she assure me that everything would be OK. The gentleman who does the glasses adjustments is so kind and professional. The brunette lady (appears to have an accent from up north?, heavy set) is far from kind & professional. She is down right rude. She did not want to allow me into the store to get my nearly $1000 glasses adjusted. I had not even been able to wear these pricy glasses yet due to them being crooked etc. Raked me over the coals for “not using my glasses right” and tried to make me leave or get my glasses adjusted outside of the building without trying to read anything, etc. Yes I was masked. This was the 2nd time I’d had to return to have the glasses adjusted bc she had rushed me out before during a previous visit. I will NOT return to this location due to this brash and inappropriate female.Went back a 3rd time to have the glssses adjusted again after postponing due to fearing more abuse from this unhappy female. Thankfully she was on the phone and I just dealt with the nice man who does the adjustments. This rude female was unprofessional toward her coworker, the man who adjusts glasses. Her behavior makes my stomach turn. I won’t be back as long as this female is still there. She needs a job NOT working w people. Offensive. Very expensive and disappointing experience. I still cannot read with these glasses.

Ive been a repeat customer at this location, at my last check up things went great and they were very nice, friendly and made finding a new pair of glasses an enjoyable experience. I dont know what has happened in the last year but things were different at todays routine check up (the staff was different this time around except for the doctor) and this may be my last time here. I had an appointment scheduled for 12:30 today, due to heavy traffic on parris island, I was running late. I called 10 minutes before my appointment to let them know and they seemed very understanding. When I walked into the clinic 7 minutes late, I was greeted with what took you so long? Im sure they meant it in a humorous way but I dont think thats a proper way to greet a customer. I was immediately seen by the doctor who seemed very rushed and like she just wanted to be done with me or had somewhere shed rather be. As soon as she was done with me, I saw her walking out with her purse. The woman at the counter asked me if I wanted to buy any glasses today since my prescription had chanced to which I replied I that wasnt sure whether i wanted to keep my current frames and replace the lenses, buy new frames in their store or buy them online from a different retailer. I asked for my prescription in case I decide to order online which she didnt seemed too thrilled about and began giving me all kinds of reason why I should just buy new frames. After I was handed my prescription, I said I would like to look at some frames with my husband and daughter to get a better idea of what I would like to do. This same woman approached me asking if i found something i like, i tried to explain to her that i was just trying to make up my mind. I went to try on another pair of glasses and she bluntly said no, those look bad. I was taken back by her but tried to laugh it off but she then said in a sarcastic tone what? You want me to lie to you and tell you they look great when they dont?The entire experience, specially this womans lack of professionalism helped me make up my mind about ordering glasses online rather than in their store. She didnt come across as someone I would want help from picking out new glasses and made me feel like I needed to commit to buying glasses or stop wasting her time.

I’m a first-timer who didn’t know I needed glasses. The ladies walked me through everything from understanding what my problem might be and what kind of exam I needed, to how to choose my first pair of glasses. It’s a clean, quiet space and everyone is very friendly. I would recommend Shell Point Optical to everyone in the area- there were no negatives.

Was a super good visit! When I called I was able to give them my insurance and had a appointment the next day. I haven’t been to an eye dr. In a good bit so I was unsure of what to actually expect. I am a super hard to work with at the eye drs and honestly have always dislike the eye drs, the optometrist definitely helped me get threw the exam easily than in the past. She actually figured out that one of my previously prescribed prescription was actually too strong for one of my eyes. They have a huge selection of contact lenses. I also picked out a new pair of glasses as well, Larry was so kind to help me. They have a super good selection for ladies few old school frames but lots of trendy ones! In the past I have taken 30 mins plus to pick out a pair, but today it took me 4 mins at most!

Staff is very friendly & helpful. They take time with each patient and explain the processes thoroughly. Not like the rush of big chains.
