So I purchased a motor ans transmission from this shop about 45 days ago ago and I wasnt able to get my motor and trans in the car before the warranty date was up and upon the first drive I noticed my transmission making a little noise and I found that the bearing inside is bad and needs replacement. I contacted the owner of md jdm and even tho I was out of my warranty date he stepped up and did the right thing as a good buisness owner and made it right. He reimbursed me the money its going to cost to fix the bad bearings in my trans and u cant ask for a better buisness practice then that. I just wanna say thanks md jdm for standing behind your products your selling and going out of your way to make it right even if I was a few days out of warranty. I will shop here again in the future and wont think twice about it.

Honestly probably the worst shop to exist, payed for a engine cause i threw a rod out the side on the old one. plus labor to get car up and running, not only did it take longer then what they said they gave me back a very unsafe within 20 mins of driving the car all i could smell is battery acid (VERY UNSAFE) and i didnt think much of it till i got home and popped the trunk open and all i saw was smoke coming from my battery, i just assumed that was my fault and battery was bad went to buy a new one within a hour of driving there goes the next battery... getting to much juice, called MY mechanic to come look at it as i woke up to a dead car not even 24 hours of being out the shop and showed him the janky wiring this place did after realizing i was gonna waste money going to someone else i hit md jdm motors back and asked them to take car back to fix, they agreed and i towed it 3 WEEKS later nothing was still done to car, i called other shops around me and took it from them, i have now recently been able to get the exact cause that this shop has created i will be uploading the labor this shop did *trust me you can find better LOL i could of done it* this shop is very poor at commutating and giving updates on your car when i told shop mistakes were there fault he claimed i brought him a car with problems to begin with lol (engine and trans are fine BUT i see no vin anywhere on it) only if they could of actually made the car work!

You can find someone on the street that can do better repairs than these guys. They will be out of business within a year for sure.

I bought a motor from these guys in December 2019. It was delivered to me with free freight.The motor had severe carbon buildup and MDJDM motors refunded me about 1/4 of the price back since it was low compression and needing a rebuild.Fast forward 7 months and I start getting collection notices from the freight company. It turns out MD JDM hasn’t paid for dozens of freight bills, and the freight company started sending me collection notices and threats of attorney fees for the freight MD JDM was supposed to pay!!! Stay away from MD JDM.

Do not buy from these people! Read reviews, I purchased an engine on EBay with free shipping, now I am receiving bills from shipping Co. because they never paid them. My lawyer advised I pay the shipping because ultimately the buyer is responsible for the shipping and now I have to sue them to get my money back. Many hours of my time waisted on dealing with this issue. MD JDM is not worth this aggravation to many other quality JDM sellers out there.

I had recently couple weeks back came by here to buy a k24a high compression engine and a b20b high compression engine for my friend. B20b was good no problems but I discovered on the k24a that although all cylinders had good 210psi of compression... cylinder 4 would not pass a leak down test due to exhaust valve leaking on that cylinder. Customer requested both as he is a very meticulous person.Called up wais and talked to him that I took the engine accessories off as it doesn’t quite match the customers vehicle application but that I have a problem with the cylinder 4 leaking on the exhaust valves he did not hesitate and said bring it on back and we will exchange it for another one free of cost. Just went back today and did the both tests on another k24a and passed great! Customer will be happy and can’t thank you enough for your awesome prices and customer service!

So I purchased a motor from these guys and before I picked it up I ended up finding a Craigslist deal that fit my needs better. Originally there is a 25% restocking fee (which I was made aware of beforehand.) I called the day I was supposed to pick up to cancel. They kindly cut 10% off the restock fee for me, and instantly refunded the rest, so I am leaving a positive review because they have at least demonstrated they care about customer service.

Dont buy from these guys. I bought a front end/clip and received a unusable damaged hood as a direct result of the way they packaged the item. The shipping company is also to blame of course but I purchased the shipping insurance assuming that would protect me. Md Jdm said they filed a claim with shipping company and I never heard anything back. I was very patient with them and I regret that now. One person I dealt with was great on the phone but I suppose that was just lip service. Will never buy from again and Ill do my best to spread the word about this company.

I bought a versions 7 EJ207 from them the add said it included a vf34 turbo which was a big deal to me I was specifically looking for a vf34. I received the engine it did not have a vf34. got in contact and after a dodgy conversation with them they will not do anything to rectify this situation. I would not buy from them ever again. Very poor customer service. Now Im out several hundred dollars for a turbo. Bad Business! Do not Buy from then!!

Wish I could honestly give this company 0/5 stars.I bought a used EJ255 from this company in January 2020 and expected an easy transaction as I paid in full and it was “free shipping”, I was wrong. I received the engine and it looked good besides some rusty components, I was wrong again. I installed the engine only to troubleshoot a no start. The used engine came with a bad wiring harness which I was grudgingly replaced with the one off the old engine. I was aware the harness was not covered under warranty and I just accepted it even though it caused excessive swearing.Now it is almost a year later and I am being taken to collections because THIS COMPANY DOSENT WANT TO PAY TO SHIP YOU FREIGHT.I have emailed this company pictures of the letters TWICE now to get things straightened out and they assured me that things were being taken care of. Almost a year later I’m still getting letters that I need to pay. BUYER BEWARE OF THIS SHADY COMPANY.

Mislabel parts then leave you high and dry! DO NOT BUY

Bought a 2.0 wrx motor with 56k on it and had valve tick. Had to return that motor for another wrx 2.0 and it has ringland failure out of the warehouse and it drinks oil like no other. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SELLER!!!

Great place to find a motor or trans for your Japanese auto. The guy running the place really helped me out when I had to exchange motors. Awesome guy.

I ordered a V8 STI nose cut. I chose them because it was one of very few in Aspen white, the photos were very good and detailed all of the scratches chips ect. And I felt that the photos showed a very clean front end. I received the parts in 2 days for a great price including shipping. It came wrapped and protected very well. And arrived in the condition that the photos showed. Id even say better than what the photos showed.I would purchase from them again.

The gentleman I worked with (I dont remember his name) was super knowledgeable on the engines and transmissions they had in stock.If you need something that they dont carry or have in stock, they can check into getting the parts you need at an affordable rate.I was surprised to see some 13Bs on the shelf along with the more common motors like SR20s, Ej25s, KAs, B18s, VQs. If i needed more parts for my Subaru I know who Im contacting!

This place is great. Greg the manager sold me a engine for my accord with over 200k. I really wanted to keep the car and he assured me this was the way to go. Told me absolutely everything about this engine and what I needed to do for a successful install. Car runs better than it did 10yrs ago. I am not very familiar with the Japanese cars but with his help it was pretty simple. Super easy process Alex or Hector the warehouse helper loaded the engine by himself in the rental truck and secured it for me by the time I was done paying. Will get all my business. Bought a transmission from them and had it installed by a reputable installer.Took a few days to get installed. After about a week and 200 miles I noticed a whine from trans. Talked to installer who had me bring it back. Couldnt make it out for a week or so.Long story short by the time we figured out what the problem was 32 days had gone by. Installer called and was told 30 days is up. Sorry. I had put less than 500 miles on the trans. We tried to isolate the issue before contacting them to make sure it wasnt the trans. But it was. Now I have to pay to repair a trans I just bought.I get that 30 days is 30 days. But 2 days after and less than 500 miles? Simply because scheduled didnt align?There are better jdm resellers in the area. I recommend you go to one of those.

There prices are reasonable but really its a crab shoot gamble. I bought 2 transmissions from them for my Honda civic. 1st one lasted a year. Second one was installed by them only lasted 4 months, just 30 days past warranty so they wouldnt do anything for me.

For anyone who is considering doing business with this place I would advise you not to . They will sell you a bad motor and rip you off. I purchase a motor from them on 8/27/16 and paid 1855.00 for it. I had to take car to Mazda dealership and have a compression test done and was told motor was bad. Not to mention after reviewing my paperwork I notices the serial number on invoice was different from actual motor they sold me and claim to have done compassion test on. When I contacted them I was told I flooded the motor and that the motor was good. The manager refuse to work with me and make things right. Where Im from the customer services is always number one.The owner would not call me back after several attempts to speak with him. I have loss a lot of money and now have a car that I cannot drive because they refuse to replace motor or give me back my money. Now, Im force to spend more money filing a lawsuit to take them to small claims court. All of this couldve been avoided if they honored their product.

He even arranged the delivery of the engine to my mechanic.I highly recommend.

Own a Japanese make or model, these guys have some sweet options for you. In short, the store front of this warehouse is a plethera of sport and cosmetic modifications for all your cars. The appeal of real Japanese parts holds value to those who seek it. Me, I just know they have some of the best deals on quality used engines. If its 4cly and jdm, its likely they have a whole engine with low miles and at a better price than your local pick and pull. I will becoming back for my other civic when the time is right.

Found MD JDM in Beltsville after doing my research, looking for a motor online for my 2002 Toyota Rav4. Boy was I lucky I found this place! Brian was real helpful and very accommodating. He went out of his way to help me with a great motor and even had the in-house mechanic install it for me. I was going to junk the car, but after finding MD JDM, and having them install the motor (which was the lowest price anywhere), my car now runs better than it ever did. Its been a couple of months now since I got my motor put in by MD JDM. The motor is so quiet and smooth, sometimes I cant tell if the car is running. Brian was great from the very beginning. He kept me informed by updating me thru-out the day. He even had the mechanic clean out my carburetor and fix some other things that needed to be fixed on the car. I will definitely come back, if I need to get good parts at the lowest price. If you have an old car, or any car with a bad motor, or a bad transmission, before you think about junking it or selling it, go over to MD JDM and talk to Brian. You will be glad you did.

I picked up an engine for Nissan 300zx. Installed it two weeks after receiving it. Kept having small issues so tried to fix myself. The engine has turned out to be terrible. I called the shop back and asked for a replacement even though I was two weeks past the 30 day warranty. I just wanted them to work something out with me. They said they couldnt do anything. The quality of engine I received was below par for what a JDM shop should be offering. The one guy that worked there was polite but I lost $1,500 so I have to say I would not purchase from them again. It is sad since they are so close to me.

Sold me a trash engine with no compression and a turbo that doesnt even work. Save your money for their overpriced junk. The warranty is only 30 days because it will only last that long.

Would absolutely go to him again! 2002 jdm wrx engine tranny rear diff ecu and front axles with no problems at 4k miles so far. All cylinders hold 150psi compression 200 miles ago when I checked them. Very nice guy!

Called up for some wheels and was quoted one price on the phone then $100 more when I got there. I ended up talking them down a little but I still probably overpaid though I was desperate and needed wheels asap. Do yourself a favor though and hit up one of the shops in VA. The owner seemed more interested in bsing around in the office than in me as a customer. The whole transaction felt very unprofessional.

Ive never done business with them but you cant search for any auto parts on craigslist without seeing a hundred listings from them for every other possible auto manufacturer. You shouldnt have to search through 50 honda engines when looking for subaru parts. Please stop spamming craigslist. You dont have to list everything you sell in each listing.

Bent oil pan on shipped motor. All good, thats what you want When shopping for motors.

These guys sell you a junk motor which you need to replace nearly everything on. By the time you do that, your 30 day warranty is up and youve now installed a junk motor in the car. By the time you find out your motor is junk, youre out of warranty and they wont do anything to help. Stay away from these guys.

Dont get rob for your money stay away from this place

Bought a JDM B20B to replace a USDM B20Z2 and asked MD-JDM for their recommended mechanic. The recommended Hector Rubio at Rubios grage and i agreed to move forward. Dropped the car off at 2pm on a Tuesday and was called the following day and told my 2001 Honda CR-V would be finished by 6pm. Arrived at the garage and the car was running and ready to roll. Rolled over 100 miles to get to home and had no issues. Both MD-JDM and Rubios Garage were very easy to deal with, prices were more than fair from both businesses, and the work was completed on time and as was promised. The installing shop even made the engine change the correct way by changing out the oil pump and timing gear, rather than doing the bypass procedure. You also have to keep in mind that you are buying a used engine of unknown condition. Make your best choice and have whatever tests are available and possible before you buy, But in the end you have to live within the guarantee you get. Very satisfied with the experience and would recommend and deal with both MD_JDM and Rubios Garage in the future.

I bought a B20B along with a ITR transmission on my first visit. Out of 20 B20s, I choose one i felt was in great condition. I get them home, and IMMEDIATELY began tearing it down, replacing gaskets, and transferring sensors to stay within THE 30-DAY WARRANTY. It started up no problem, no smoke, no knocking, or pinging. The ITR transmission was mint, no grinds, no pops, and LSD works great! I was so pleased with the engine and transmission, I returned and bought MINT SUPER RARE 1st gen Bride brix seat with the Bride super bucket seat bracket, no stains or rips.I WOULD RECOMMEND MD JDM MOTORS TO ANYONE, THANKS WAIS AND BRYAN, YOU GUYS RULE!!!

I dont have anything bad to say about these guys, but judging from the two previous reviews maybe I just got lucky. More to the point, about two weeks ago I purchased an H23A vtec honda engine from them. I called first to verify they had a few in stock to pick from before I drove up. I spoke with Bryan and he was very polite and professional. When I arrived he pointed me to where they were storing the H23 long blocks. There were a few on their rack system, a few more on the floor, and one in the back that he said they hadnt prepped yet but I was more then welcome to look at it. In total I think they had six long blocks. I spent about twenty minutes looking them over and during which time I was told that if I wanted to take a closer look at any of the engines on the rack they could pull them down no problem. Of the six they had I would say four were in very good shape. What I mean by that is, clean on the exterior with minimal broken sensors. Two were in a bit more rough shape, but honestly still a killer deal for the price they were asking. The one I settled on looked truly like something you would receive from H Motors Online and pay over twice as much for. Not a single broken sensor, extremely clean on the outside and even cleaner on the inside. Who ever owned it really took care of it. Zero sludge build up. I had them pull the plugs so I could take a peek at the tops of the pistons and they were nice and dry. A few days after I got it home I started the disassembly process because the block was going to be sent out to be sleeved and the head sent out for porting. I really could not have asked for a cleaner engine on the inside. I almost felt bad taking it apart because of how good of shape it was in. Ultimately there was not a single thing wrong with it. To top it all off, most of the main loom was still on the engine and the sensors that had been clipped from the main loom still had their pig tails with about four inches of wire so if for some reason you needed them they were there. My take on buying an engine from any importer (excluding Hmotors) is that if you dont go in person and hand pick your engine then you are really taking a chance and hoping you are sent a good one. To expand on that a little further, you actually have to know what youre looking for when you go. So if you dont, take a friend that does. If you know what to look for in a used engine and you hand pick it, nine times out of ten you will not have a single problem. Sorry for the extended read, but I felt that the quality of service I received and the overall quality of the engine I purchased for the price it was purchased for was worth ten minutes of my time to explain my experience with this shop.

I bought a 18c5 and I was told it jus needed to throw it in, I bought it in july, still workin out all the bugs that it had in it... as far as customer service I didnt like the way bryan handled the sale. jus kinda threw a motor @ me and said oh yea this one is good, as far as that alex guy, very helpful he talked to me on the phone helped me get some bug spray n get the bugs out... 1 star for the shop 5 stars for alex
