I went to another doctor for an eye exam 2 weeks before my appointment with Dr. Nicholson. I wasnt happy/confident with the results at my previous appointment, so I decided to give Dr. Nicholson a shot. And Im thankful that I did. He gave me a much more comprehensive examination than the other optometrist I went to and he was very friendly and courteous throughout the whole process. He gave me better suggestions about my overall eye health that I did not receive before and I am very grateful for that. I will only go to Dr. Nicholson for my eye needs from now on. Highly recommended.

I was under the impression my appointment was at 3 when I got there they told me it was at 230 however I got there thinking Im 15. Min early. Anyways asked the lady to ask the doctor if they can fit me in, she said No and didnt even want to be considerate enough to ask or accommodate. Im sure there are plenty of more doctors I can go to, no need to come back here

Dr. Nicholson is warm, knowledgeable and most importantly, great at what he does. His office is extremely COVID aware, from socially distancing patients to disinfection procedures. Im so thankful to have him as my optometrist!!

Dr. Philip is super professional in all the time but especially during these times of Covid-19. The staff are friendly and very helpful when you need support or advice. The price is fair and it’s great to support small businesses. Check them out if you have a chance!

Dr. Phils Office was a pleasant surprise. It was so nice to walk into an office where the staff was so personable, very friendly and most helpful. Dr. Phil was on time, very thorough and explained every aspect of my eye exam. He was very honest and kind. The type of service that seems to be disappearing so quickly these days. I saw Dr. Grinstead and was very pleased with the care I received and the extent of her knowledge. She convinced me to switch to a new pair of lenses when I thought I loved my old ones. The new lenses fit so much better and solved a recurring issue I had with dry itchy eyes after wearing my lenses for long periods of time. I had not realized this issue could be fixed with the right pair of lenses.I would continue to go here, but this office does not accept my vision insurance.I lowered my rating to 4 stars because of the association with the Costco vision center, where I purchased my prescription lenses. Part of the convenience of this office is supposed to be the affiliation with Costco vision. The person at their eye wear desk took every single part of my information down incorrectly. When I called several weeks later to find out why my lenses had never come in, they couldnt find me in their system at all through my name, my phone number my address...even though I had given them the paper with my prescription that had much of this listed correctly. I was only able to obtain the contacts I ordered by coming in person with my receipt and making a big stink in front of other potential customers. This was 6-8 weeks after placing my order and multiple phone calls later.

I have been recommending Dr. Nicholson for years, having been a patient of his for many! His office is convenient to me and my family...the whole family sees him! His front office assistants are very pleasant and Dr. Phil is knowledgeable, funny and compassionate. He takes his time with exams and is always careful to explain everything. You never feel like just a patient! I have been very happy with his services over the years. Appointments are easy to make and even a recent unscheduled visit I needed was not a problem. He is a five star eye doc in (and for) my eyes!

Dr. Nicholson answered all my questions when I came in for a quick check of my new pair of contacts. I was also very happy with a recent eye exam to renew my prescription. Dr. Nicholson always takes time to explain the exam, including the retinal photograph. I always learn something. Almost forgot, his office assistant, a current applicant to medical school to study opthamalogy, was very helpful and pleasant.

This was my first visit to the eye doctor in years, and Dr. Nicholson was awesome. Service was quick and to the point. I was able to get what i needed and my eyes are feeling some relief already, one drop at a time. He listen to me and didnt try to make me feel like im going blind. He explained everything in away that i fully understood my eyes and what was being shown me. He gave two suggestions that made me feel like we were on the same page. The person at the desk was very pleasant as well. However, i would just suggest that if someone hands you their payment that you place it back in there hand as well, nevertheless you were very nice. Dr. Nicholson is a great doctor. My husband and I have been going to him for more years than I can remember. He is very prompt (no time wasted waiting for him to see you), professional and caring. He never rushes you through, patiently listens to all of your questions/concerns, and then takes time to explain everything thoroughly and clearly. He is very knowledgeable, offers helpful suggestions, is easy to talk to, and humorous. I was referred to Dr Nicholson by a friend who talked with me about our mutual troubles getting adequate vision correction. She was happy with the care she had from Dr Nicholson and encouraged me to see him. Dr Nicholson was thorough in history and examination and wrote for glasses with the best correction Ive had in a long time. He also found elevated eye pressure and referred me to ophthalmology. When I told him I would not likely go he spent extra time explaining and encouraging me to go without being overbearing and even referred me to an ophthalmologist who he though I could work with. Ive just finished cataract surgery and eye surgery to prevent glaucoma with that doctor, Dr Summerfield. I am very pleased with all the care I have received from Dr Nicholson and will be returning to see him again. I recommend Dr Nicholson without reservation.

Dr. Nicholson has been my optometrist for the past several years and from my first visit to my last, he has impressed me with his attention to detail and quality of service. I have never had an optometrist create a perfect contact lens fit for me given my history of seasonal allergies and dry eyes. On top of that, I wanted monovision lenses prescribed at a level that would maximize my near and far vision with little compromise. Did he do all this? YES! I have since moved out of state and no longer am able to see Dr. Nicholson but I would recommend him above any other optometrist in the area. He is the best and I cant say enough good things about him!

My whole family (2 sons, husband and I) all go to this practice. Dr. Madsen is our doctor and we LOVE her! She is very thorough, very friendly, and very honest. I appreciate that shes really direct about what we need and what we dont. We make our appointments online and they are very good with reminders and I have never had to wait for my appointment. We go in and are seen right away. I love that they are in Costco--so convenient and very inexpensive. I have found it to be a better price than HourEyes for the appointments and glasses. Just got my exam last week, picked out my glasses and got my Costco shop in right after!

I made the mistake of going to another doctor while Dr. Grinstead was in transition from her former office to practicing in Dr. Nicholsons office. That doctor struggled to find the right contact lens Rx for me and still didnt get it right after 4 fittings! After just one visit with Dr. Grinstead, the trial pair Im wearing is PERFECT! She is thorough in her exams, explains why shes recommending a certain Rx and really focuses on supporting your eye health. I followed Dr. Victoria Grinstead to this practice and will follow her to her next should she decide to move on!

I was referred to Dr. Madsen by a friend a few years ago. He liked Costco Optical based on a Consumer Report article rating about how often they filled the prescription correctly over other chains. Dr. Phils office is located next to Costco Optical but not part of it. Another commenter posted that she is very thorough, very friendly, and very honest. I agree 100%. I dont feel like she tries to sell you a prescription. For three years she has offered to write one but told me over the counter magnifiers would work just as well for my eyes. I dont feel like the appointments are rushed. She will answer any question and asks enough to get the information she needs. I wish regular doctor/medical appointments were as thorough! This year, they completed my MVA forms which means I dont have to go to the MVA; I can renew via mail. They arent in network/dont take any insurance Ive had. But, its easy enough to file for reimbursement. I might get a free with copay exam other places, but Im not sure theyd be as good. It is worth it to me to pay whatever minimal difference there is once a year.
