An amazing, frenetic place! Miles of guitars to test drive. Keyboards, Amps, pedals, etc. I was selling a 1979 Music Man 212 Sixty-Five amp, in excellent condition. Received a fair price, for an outstanding amp. It was all I could do to not walk out with a pile of new gear!Very friendly, helpful staff. The owner is an energized hoot! A great place.

A great place to meet fellow musicians. Its like music store meets pawn shop. So each time you go there its a new experience because the inventory constantly changes. As a result you can find some hidden gems and you can always negotiate barter and trade in use equipment. Its also a great meeting place just to hang out.

I’ve been shopping for guitars and other gear at Atomic music for 20 years now, and they’ve never let me down. If you want a guitar, bass, amp, etc. and don’t want to spend a fortune on something new, you absolutely can’t beat them for used gear. They guarantee everything they sell used so if you have a problem with it, they’ll take it back within 30 days. They also have a great buy back policy so if you’re someone like me who’s slowly upgraded to nicer instruments over the years, you know you’ll get a good price selling back a guitar that you bought there if you want to upgrade it a few years later. I recently found what would have been a 400ish dollar Marshall combo amp there tagged at $219, played it in store, and walked out with it for an even better price. Unbelievable. I’m just saying, it’s worth a trip or a call/email to them if you’re looking for something specific, and you can find some great stuff if you have time to browse around their inventory. So before you go to Guitar Center or whatever, check them out. You’ll be supporting an awesome and vital local/regional business and you’ll probably find a really good deal too!

The place has an almost endless supply of used musical instruments and gear. Some things are in better shape than others but the sales department are great to work and negotiate with. Experienced musicians will have NO problems finding what theyre looking for. Newer musicians should probably stay clear and stick with the larger chain stores to avoid buyers remorse.

I drove several miles to purchase/trade equipment that I had wanted for years. The staff was great. Isaiah was a superstar and helped make the deal happen. I would make the trip again if needed.

Man, this place is incredible. Inventory constantly changing, they take trades. They buy back at 70%. They will haggle with you. Its basically Disneyland for musicians. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough. What are you waiting for?! Get down there and give them your money!!

Atomic has so much great gear available! The staff is helpful if you want to test out a guitar or amp, and they were even able to help me track down something very specific I was looking for. Pricing isnt what I would consider dirt cheap, but it generally does seem very fair.I appreciate the store putting some items online also, it gives you a good idea of what kinds of things they have. Cool place!

Matt was amazing!!!! He answered the phone when I called and was very professional and patient with me. Then I visited the store and he was the first to signal me and greet me with his smile. I can say, I am very impressed with my experience here at Atomic Music being that this was my first visit here. The place has music experts all over the place! The guys at Atomic Music are incredible! They are really helpful and know so much about the instruments and music. They helped me fix my guitar in minutes for problems I didn’t realize it had. They have a wide collection of instruments and their prices are great too.

These guys were the best. Worked out a great trade so I could get the Variax guitar I wanted. Really fun group of musician employees to work with. The store was loaded with good stuff too.

Wow. This place was a trip. Guitars everywhere. There might have been some semblance of order but I couldnt really guess what it was. The nice stuff was on the wall at the front by the registers. Lots of random brands. Sales people were super helpful. Picked up some guitar strings and picks.

The greatest used music store in the DC area. Ive bought at least 30 guitars or amps here, was always happy with the deal I got, or if I wasnt, they bought it back.

Atomic is one of my favorite stores Ive ever been to. The selection is enormous, and the deals are tremendous. All the employees are knowledgable about their product, and you can tell they have a real passion for gear. Every time I go in, they say they have a new envelope filter in for me to try. Love coming here.

I loved my experience with this shop!!! Staff was curtiose, kind, and helpful. I have had two guitars fixed by Paul. He could not been nicer and fixed both my aucoustic and electric guitars. Mathew was helpful in hooking me up with a hard case that fit to a tee for my elderlyelectric guitar. I haveI wish to Thank them and tell them about how grateful I am for their help. I plan to visit them again, hopefully soon.

I miss this place. I visited a few times every week. I did a lot of business with them. At one point they relocated next door to my job. I no longer work in Beltsville. Ill have to make the 90 minute road trip and visit the shop again.Fantastic store with a friendly staff and a great inventory. The assortment of amps is really great. They have egnater amps here for good prices. I heard they would let you buy something and return it for about 70% return if its in good condition. I dont remember seeing any classical guitars but I was only looking for an amp at the time.

I truly love Atomic Music. For 17 years I searched for an old Martin D-35 I could afford. My long quest ended with my 1970 Martin D-35 from Atomic Music. When my son was ready to step up from his introductory guitar we bought his Fender Telecaster at Atomic Music. When my son wanted to explore the bass we found a quality bass guitar at Atomic Music. My best friend bought his primary guitar there. These guitars are a joy which would not have been affordable if purchased new. The trick when I wander into Atomic Music is to leave without buying another guitar. All good.

My visits to this guitar store as re getting fewer. Ive settled in with a couple of very comfortable guitars.More than 15 years ago, I decided to embark on a journey by takeing advantage of their store policy that offers a return policy of 70% . Atomic Music offers older vintage instruments mainly guitars.The products available are my era guitar ........ In my teens 1950s - 1960s. Now adays I can afford to get what I could not then. I own MOSRITE and a MARTIN and Several Gibson tube amps. I consider the journey over. But maybe a new STRAT. and Twin Reverb is waiting to be mine.

We sold and bought a guitar here today. We felt like we received a fair price on the PRS that we sold. We bought a 2019 Martin. They did a great job of helping us find the right guitar. Because of COVID they were limited in the number of people who could be in the store and still they didn’t make us feel rushed.

A real treasure. Such a variety of used gear at fair prices its hard to walk away empty handed.

Large selection of used musical equipment...tons of guitars and amps... lot of people hanging out and playing...kind of junked together and tight... but comfortable...especially if you are an aficionado of music...particularly electric guitars...did not buy anything though. Cool place to check at least once.

Never know what youre going to find. Great place for experienced tools of the trade. More light would be nice. Lights are cost efficiently against the high ceiling leaving display cases and low level merchandise difficult to see. Nothing that a cell phone cant light up though.

Staff are friendly and great, and you can find some amazing instruments at an excellent price -- beats buying online because you can actually try out the equipment.I have bought and sold equipment there and always felt appreciated.

This is my absolute favorite music shop. They have thousands of used guitars and their inventory is always changing. The staff is always honest, friendly and will happily offer a discount to every. single. customer. Dont even second guess this place. If you are a musician, you have gotta go, just for the experience!

Had an issue with a tube amp that I purchased from the store and they couldnt have handled it any better than they did. When I told them that I lived far from the store and wanted to at least try to fix the problem on my end before driving back to exchange (which they gladly offered up front) they helped me attempt to isolate the issue, found out what I was comfortable doing on my own and overnighted me some (upgraded) parts. I ended up having to drive out to exchange the amp after all, but the customer service was absolutely superb. I dont care if its a long drive - this is my new go-to stop for gear.

The service was incredible! They didnt have exactly what I was looking for, but they spent a good bit of time digging through the inventory in the back to be positive and I really appreciate that. I will definitely be coming back.

Atomic Music is one of my favorite places to go whenever I need something to have to deal with music. They always deliver. And the manager of the place always remembers my face. Even if I havent stopped by there in a while. They always have what I need when I need it with smiles on their face and great personalities.

It seems like they have been there for 20+ years. I have bought so many amplifiers and guitars there. There are always hidden gems to be found in this wonderful music store with guitars for beginners to professionals. I have always been very lucky to find great sounding Marshall,s which I admit are my favorite amps. But the have everything and the inventory is always changing from one week to the next.

Went in to have the repair guy take a look at my ukelele. He told me he didnt have experience in the uke area but took a look at it anyway. He noticed my strings werent uniform and suggested j fix them. I got home and viola!!!! The annoying twang I had been hearing was gone! So happy!! Will def be back!
