Pretty mediocre experience all around. They had my car for 13 days to complete 2 hours of work (Heidi initially told me it would be worked on the day after it arrived). Communication during that 13 day period was very poor. Nothing on the car was fixed, they recommended that I go to other shops. And when I got my car back the dash panel wasnt put back into place securely and the stereo head unit was hanging half way out. I paid $270 for a very vague diagnostic and a now rattling dash. I wouldnt come back here.

I called Specialty Automotive randomly a few weeks ago because I had a horrible smell in our suburban suddenly. Heidi, the owner, was super friendly on the phone. Even though they were fully booked that day she told me to come in and they would look at it! Long story short, they pulled a dead baby mouse out of my engine. While we were waiting for the work to be done, Heidi brought my two small kiddos popsicles and was very kind to us! We’ve gone back since for other services now. I would highly recommend them! They’re all super friendly in the office and made time to answer all of our questions. I don’t usually write reviews but thought they deserved a good one!

Great service & amazing people. Called Specialty Auto to get my alternator replaced and have my oil changed. Not only did they get me in in less than a week, but I had my car back in less than 24 hours. Craig & Scott were so helpful & explained everything in terms that I understood (Im not much of a car guru). It is so comforting to know that I have people in my car corner that I trust with anything and know arent going to give me the go around. 15/10 reccomend going to Specialty for any of your Auto needs!

Had a very good experience here! Craig was incredibly thorough while inspecting my vehicle and I was given a large list of potential future issues I would need to look at (my car is quite old, so this was not a surprise). They were very careful to only do what was needed and save me some money (Im just trying to get another half a year or so out of this car). Christian and Jessica who I interacted with at the front desk were also lovely! I am moving to Sisters soon, so I may have to find a new autoshop, but if I am able to I will make the journey down here!

I dropped off the car for my 8 am appointment and they didnt look at it till 12:30. The call regarding what was needed vs optional was challenging. I wanted their expert advice on one item and they were asking me if I wanted to have the work done. The manager was unclear about the urgency or lack of urgency of the axel leak. I had to call a different shop to get answers to my Fuel Injection Service questions. The Manager was to call back about a problem with the springs but he didnt call back. Overall it was a poor experience.

I have just moved to SE Bend area and have been looking for a quality Independant Garage to Service my 21 year old Lexus LS400. Read their reviews and decided to try them with just an oil change and inspection.Service was completed professionaly, in good time and at a very competitive price. In addition it was clearly explained to me what I should be looking towards in the near future wrt other maintenance/repairs and all these items were costed and documented for my perusal.Very pleased and I WILL be visiting again soon. It is a pleasure that I am able to write this review. All I can say is customer service from small businesses does STILL exist! Its hard enough for small businesses to compete, let alone take a loss all in the name of customer service and doing the right thing. That is exactly what Specialty Auto Repair did.Very long story short. After my Tacoma had been to 2 other shops totaling 6 months I took it to Specialty. They confirmed my diagnosis of bad head gasket. They got the repair authorized by my warranty company and went to work. They had the truck for almost a yr. But they knew this was a second vehicle and that I wasnt around to even drive it.The warranty company denied the claim stating the machine shop took too long. Instead of passing the bill onto me, they only charged me what I would have paid with the warranty claim...I was expecting an as, no warranty since they ate over $3500.00. Nope, I got a 3-YEAR, 36,000 MILE NATIONWIDE WARRANTY FOR FREE!DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY OR HIW TO THANK THEM ANYMORE THAN I HAVE.I will not waste time with other shops again. The drive is worth the service.

I was visiting Bend and was exploring the area when my car started making noises. I was very lucky to find Specialty Automotive on my first try because they were very professional and welcoming. I called right away at 8 and had it dropped off by 8:30 and I was back on the road later that afternoon. They were life savers as I was only here for a couple days with no friends or family near by and I didnt want to have to miss out on m fishing plans. Thank you!!

Had a problem with battery being drained down. They worked on it and said it was the stereo I had put. They said they could fix it but I should have the stereo shop look at it. So I went and got the rv and they charged me $387 and didnt fix it. Stereo shop found problem right off, wires touching from manufactures poor installation from factory. Charge was $150. Specialty electrical work is very poor, and they said it was my fault.

The shop was very clean, everyone there was very professional and welcoming. We were on a camping trip and had engine problems and they went out of their way to see us quickly and get our car repaired so we could get back to our trip. We called them Friday morning and even though they were a busy shop they diagnosed the problem and did the repairs the same day. They also did a great job of listening to our concerns and working with us. Could be one of the best experiences we have had at a shop. Everyone there seemed really trust worthy.

We had the heater repaired in our jeep this week. Staff was helpful and friendly and even showed us the old core and explained how they diagnosed the problem. We were pleased.

I would give more stars if possible. I called to see if they could take a look at my breaks and they said to come on down and they’d look as soon as I got there. They gave me a quote that seemed very fair and set me up with an appointment in the next couple days. They even gave my husband a ride to work after dropping the car off! They called with updates and confirmed that we wanted to move forward each time something came up. Great work, quality professionalism, very fair prices. We will be taking our cars here from now on.

My wife, her parents, and myself all take our care into Specialty Auto. Have always had great service with the crew (Christian and Melony are the ones we usually talk to). We even are offered a ride to and from work when we drop off their car. Ive used it before and Melony (co-owner) is super nice.I now take take my car into the shop at least once a year for an affordable and trustworthy check up. Would (and have) recommend again and again. Awesome to find a local company you can trust.

They did great work on my vehicle and I have no qualms about the quality of their work. However, I was quoted about $220 for a serpentine belt replacement when they were already accessing that part of the engine for a main seal repair. When I pressed them on the cost of labor for the belt replacement they lowered the cost significantly realizing that their quote was doubling up on labor. This could have just been an honest mistake but the conversation I had regarding it with them just didnt sit right with me. So in summary.... they do good work, just dont be afraid to respectfully question their quotes for your own protection.

Absolutely GREAT service. My family was on a road trip and had an issue with our trailer brakes. Being nearly 200 miles from home, we were in a tight spot. We were hold up in a parking lot and spent over an hour calling RV specific shops and were turned down time and time again. We called Speciality Automotive and they told us to come on down and they would take a look. They were going to try and push through and get the work done that afternoon/ evening, however my family was ready to pack it in for the day after all the issues. Christian spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get our warranty to cover some of the work on the trailer, he spoke to the shop that originally installed the brake controller incorrectly, AND he kept us informed on every step. Mel was able to help suggest accommodations and help us more than necessary. Dusty was hands on trying to get us back on the road asap. Every person at this shop exhibited some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. They went above and beyond any expectation we had. I cannot sing their praises enough. Also Max the shop dog wont give you any attention, however he is still a very good boy.

Christian and the rest of the staff here were amazing. They made a repair to my old Subaru which I drove to work where it later died. All it took was a phone call and they paid for a tow back at their own expense. They kept working on it until they found the root issue and then they fixed it flawlessly. During this process they kept me updated with phone calls and were true to their word with their quote about timeline and price. When I picked up my car they showed me the broken part and explained why things happened the way they did. I liked seeing the evidence that they actually fixed something! And best of all, they did not try to sell me anything more than exactly what I came in there for.overall I had a great experience and will be going back.

I have been using Specialty automotive for the past 4 years. They are excellent. Christian seems to know everything about every vehicle on the road. Fast honest service. excellent value for the dollar. I bring them my diesel truck, my SUV, minivan. Great work and they honor the warranty on the parts. The folks at Specialty electric are locals who work hard to do what is right. We had some issues with our bus and they fit us into the schedule to make sure it was repaired in a timely manner. I appreciate the smiles and attention to detail the offered. Local people helping local people.

I was told things were wrong with my vehicle so I took it to a master machanic the works out of prineville and was told I my vehicle did not need to be fixed everything looked great.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Im on a road trip from Ontario, Canada and was having some RV trouble while going through Bend. Not only did they help me fix up the RV but they let me sleep in it in the parking lot every night, offered me use of the lobby for AC, wifi, coffee, and snacks. They also offered to drive me into town of I needed to get lunch or do laundry. The most accommodating and friendly mechanics Ive ever dealt with. And of course they really know what they are doing.

My family was in a pinch. We had plans to travel to Redwoods the next morning when my astute father in law noticed the severely damaged trailer hitch connection. We had used Specialty Automotive before and were pleased so i called hoping they could fit us in. It was Friday afternoon and were very honest and said no promises about fixing it before 5. Go to this shop. This family owned business really cares about your concerns. Ive used them four times since I bought my truck. Theyve been upfront and honest regarding issues and pricing. One project required some out of the box problem solving and it was completed well and at a fair price.

Extremely poor quality and zero knowledge of foreign cars and service. They claim they can do the service but they cant even check and install a battery correctly. Also if you want to have an adult conversation with the owner(s) to disc the issue they will not do that. Customer care and service is poor. Customers beware!

My family and I have been coming here for years. The owners are very friendly and easy to work with. I always know they are going to give me the best and most honest deal on whatever my car needs.

Owners are on site and really helpful. The staff really take care of my vehicles, they let me know what is wrong and the cost, no hidden agenda. I also purchase my electrica supplies for my wiring projects. They talk me through what I dont understand and always seem to be ready to answer my questions. And the dog ( he is the mascot) is great!!!

FANTASTIC and quality work! The alternator on my 911 ended up going out on me. I sent my alternator here on a referral from German Master Tech in Bend, OR. They had my alternator rebuilt within a few days of sourcing parts. When it came back I couldnt believe it was the same alternator. It looked brand new! AMAZING quality. It was cheaper than the quotes I got for a reman alternator and was WAY cheaper than a new alternator.The reman versions Ive seen arent the quality Id want to pay for. No doubt Id much rather have these guys and gals rebuild it, improve it and make it better than it was! Amazing quality. Its hard to find a business anymore that puts quality work into stuff anymore, some shops just get the job done and some just make it work but you can tell they take their time and do it right the first time around.I really wish there was an option to give 5 stars x10.

I brought my 2011 Honda Pilot to have trailer lights hooked up. They assured me that it was something that they can do and have done in the past. When the tech was done he pulled my car upfront to hook up the lights to my new trailer he realized that something was wrong and nothing worked so he returned to the shop. Upon further inspection my pilot needs to have a $300+ added electrical component to complete the installation. After speaking with the owner it was in fact his first time with my model car and they were not experienced as I was told. After over two hours to properly diagnose what my vehicle needed, they cut the wiring up and taped it back together and charged me over $160 to improperly diagnose and attempt to install trailer lights.On there Mission statement in the office I noticed that profits and payments are there mission. I got the lowest possible service at the highest cost. I give two thumbs down and will never return or recommend this shop.

Its Mid-day Friday ( of course) and im supposed to be traveling. On comes the check engine light. I call Specialty because they are close to where I am. Come on down sez the pleasant human.Within 5 minutes and after hes thrown a diagnostic tool on the car Im told that I need - wait for it - a new _gas cap_which I can get any parts shop. He then would not take any of my money. They dont know it yet but Specialty Aotomotive are my new Bend OR mechanics. 6 stars.

Ask for a quote, they said I would have to bring my car down to look at it to get a quote. Brought my car down there, they gave me a quote without looking at the car. Overpriced, wasting my time, could have just gave me the same quote over the phone. Never going there again. Horrible customer service, very shady practices.
