Had some great selections in older LPs and CD at great prices. Limited access because of size and space inside. Appointment required to shop there. Mask must be worn at all time only limited number of people may be in store.

One of the last remaining vestiges of my fondest memories of music shopping. They carry CDs and LPs, which are more endearing and sentimental than a download. I love this store in all seasons.

THIS PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Friendly staff, HUGE selection and it smells like a record store (a very good thing IMO). The place looks disorganized but it’s really not. The owners know where everything is and their happy to help. This place is incredibly fair priced. They have $6 records that may not be the prettiest album cover but the record plays perfectly. I can’t imagine a better place with better folks!

Awesome record store. There is a lot of vinyl packed into this small store, but walking inside its door is like stepping back into a simpler day and time. Outside of newly pressed vinyl, or rarities, you can walk out with a classic album for $6. Huge selection and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

The owner is friendly and the merchandise is excellent. They have even the hardest to find records and if they dont have it in stock they will dig it up for you.

They had a ton of records. It felt like being in your grandparents attic if your grandparents were absolutely obsessed with music. When I walked in, the gentleman working there was incredibly nice. All of the records seemed to be a good price, most being around $5. There were also CDs here as well as other things. I saw plenty of good artists. The decor was cool. Atmosphere was cool.

There are probably some really good hidden treasures here. However, there is so much stuff, you can barely walk through the shop. Needs to have a big clearance sale and move some inventory.

An eclectic shop stocked full of great used vinyl finds along with books, DVDs, VHS tapes, and even 8 tracks. They have a deep collection of records along with Record Store Day special issues from past and present. Worth a visit if you are in Five Points.

Reasonably priced vinyl. Helpful staff. Would recommend setting aside time to actually get your fingers dusty, but worth it.

These are the NICEST people I have ever met in my entire life. If they dont have a record you want, theyll get it for you ASAP! They are always open to music suggestions as well as giving them. I could talk with Mrs. Shirley and Mr. Gary for hours! There are so many great places to buy records in Birmingham, but we choose to only buy from Renaissance because we have been treated like old friends from the first time we walked through the door.

TODAY I FINALLY MEET ARTHUR!!!Arthur Alexander that is, I have searched for this record in free time but am a slow collector. It was my dream and I finally own an album by this man who was covered by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Ole Otis Redding even....The Beatles made this man famous but Muscle Shoals and Sheffield Alabama gave him life and his deep soul music that gives me chills.I annually attend the Bessemer record collectors show and am an avid collector of eclectic jazz... Im young, 28, and they are teaching me slowly but surely about expanding my current collection!

The best record store in Birmingham. Jimmy is usually manning the store during the day and could not be more helpful. If they do not have exactly what you are looking for, Jimmy will likely suggest something in the store as good, if not better than, what you came in for. Gary, one of the owners, is always engaging. Shirley, the other owner, could not be nicer. Take your time, flip some stacks and talk with the folks in the store. For these guys, selling records is secondary to loving music - but please buy some records.

One of Birminghams best hidden treasures. Much, much better than Charlemagne. The nicest staff out of all the record stores in Alabama plus great prices- theyll help you find exactly what youre looking for..something you dont get much these days, wonderful customer service. Hands down the best record store in Alabama.

Nothing about this store is good; except for the owner, Gary. His wife is very rude and displays records that she has no intention of actually selling. She also doesnt like for music to be played in a RECORD STORE. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. Charlemagne is much better and has a nice staff.

The guy behind the counter is very knowledgeable of the records. Will be back.

It had been a while since I visited this store or to be true, any music store. We buy stuff online with the convenience of the internet, pre-ripped music for instant gratification and a record 2 days later in the mail. Why getting up wasting gas and having to talk to people if we can eliminate all social interactions and slowly drift onto the autism spectrum?I truly enjoyed flipping through records and inspecting stacks of CDs while keeping a conversation going about local Blues and Jazz musicians, 1st Friday and 2nd Wednesday jam sessions, wondering about Bo Berry recordings, and finally making the connection that we both attended Jock Webb and Clarence Davis concert at The Jaybird a few weeks back.Record stores are a must for the music scene of a city. Go and buy your music where it is made, where you live, where the people are that keep it around.

Huge selection of new a d used CDs at great prices. Classic Rock, R&B, Blues, Country and even Classical CDs throughout the store. They have one of the biggest selection of LP albums. Very friendly staff. They also buy used CDs and LPs.
