Long wait times. I order a living room set in March. Its been pushed to July. I understand thats common when you buy new furniture. But just be aware.I did get one of my recliners, and I have to say it is very nice quality. The delivery men were were quick and educated on what they were doing. In and out in less than 10 minutes, even though Im on the second floor.

After searching several stores with no luck of leaving the same day with a couch, we went to Value City with intentions of just having to wait a few weeks. When walking in, my boyfriend and i were greeted by Mark S. Whom was very polite and helpful! He directed us to the furniture we were interested and elt us know that there are some available around the store. After finding one we liked, Mark helped us place our orders and discovered the couch was actually in store in the back! We are so grateful to be leaving with a new couch today to bring to our new home. Mark S. Was so polite and helpful and I couldnt have had a better experience!

Our order was delayed for several months due to the pandemic, which I can understand. However, when we received our first delivery we received a broken piece. I called for a technician to come out and fix it;I left work early to meet him. When I arrived, he looked and the piece and told me he couldnt fix it that day because it would take him more than an hour and he was off work in 30 minutes. We called to reschedule and it was pushed back several times. Finally, my husband took it upon himself to just fix it.We also waited for one last piece to complete our sectional. We specifically asked to be notified an hour before delivery so my husband could take off work to get home and they have never once given us adequate notice. It took us 3 RESCHEDULES to get the last piece delivered when my husband was actually available.This process has been nothing but headaches from the moment we purchased our furniture. I would NOT recommend VCF to family or friends due to all the hassles and miscommunication weve experienced. We should have just returned everything for a refund and took our business elsewhere.

My experience at value city was not great overall. Salesman told us we would have our couch and loveseat in on july 19, “GUARANTEED”. So we ordered it and waited till that day came but nobody gave us a cal they just sent me the bill since i financed it. Got my pay set up so there wasn’t any concerns on their end and still. I received no update so i called. When i called they said there not getting my stuff in till mid SEPTEMBER! I know its hard to get stuff these days but dont guaranteed a customer something that isnt true.

One of the employees ask me to wear a mask. That was ok until I walked around the corner and at least 4 other individuals were not wearing a mask. The only difference between us was the color of our skin. I will not do business with them ever again. I would hope that others will read this and share. I did try to talk to the store manager and he said “I don’t care I will not be the manager after tomorrow “

If I could rate this a ZERO I would the customer service customer service is horrible here their product is cheap and Junky so 2 years ago the end of 2019 we purchased sectional within 2 months the Springs were breaking the back was squeaking and the arms of the sectional had broke they told us that someone would be out to look at it someone came out they told us that it would be able to be fixed Then covid happened never a call never nothing we called them probably 15 times still never heard anything finally 2 months ago we finally got some answers that they would let us come resellect furniture because its been too long and they cant refund us our money now We go in we reselect furniture nothing that we really actually something that we just had to settle on so we could actually have something semi decent to sit on that was semi comfortable They deliver 2 pieces of our furniture and now they tell us that the 3rd piece the couch the main part of our furniture will not be delivered until the end of September now And not only is it going to be months away we had to pay an extra $300 For the price difference of this furniture but I will let you know but I will let you know we spent over $1500 the 1st time This is the worst company that I have ever worked with I will NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN I also will make sure that I tell everybody to never come here and shop it is not worth the headache hassle and time !

The ONLY reason for the Five Star is for the MOST AWESOME sales woman Ms NADYNE!!! She goes ABOVE and BEYOND to correct the Three Awful customer service experiences I’ve had at the Boardman, OH location. NADYNE has been my go to sales woman for the last 3 years. I would like to say that I am always greeted Professionally soon as I come through the front doors. However, NADYNE gets the Value City award from me. I wish VCF could CLONE her and replace customer service in the back and customer pickup. VCF I pray you are taking notice of ALL the terrible reviews on your customer service. Please PROMOTE NADYNE She had to train customer service on how to correct my order when they told me it couldn’t be done. I can go on and on about how she has been nothing but a God sent. To any new customer who has had a terrible experience please don’t give up on VCF until you have dealt with NADYNE!

The salesman we had for our living room set was good thus the 2 stars. That is where the good experience stopped. Customer service is absolutely terrible. We purposely scheduled the delivery further out because we were closing on a house. They called multiple times to push it up but we were not able to. They said everything was in stock and ready to go multiple times. Then we got a call saying there was a manufacturer delay and it would not be delivered when promised. When I confronted them about saying it was in stock over and over and now all of a sudden it was never delivered to them by the manufacturer, things got even worse. They became short and dismissive and called me back to say it would be ready after all. Here we are a day prior to delivery and they will not give me any information about weather the product is in the store or when/if it will be delivered tomorrow. I have no idea what is going on with our furniture at this point. If you are in the market for new furniture, pay a little extra and go somewhere else. It is not worth the headache of dealing with rude and dismissive customer service staff.

BEWARE! Do not buy from VCF! They will tell you the item is in stock and they tell you they will schedule delivery after they receive your payment. Once that happens, they tell you delivery is delayed and will be 1 month. Then when you call for an update they tell you there is a factory delay and it will be 2 months! This all comes after we paid $1500 in cash! Oh... and you have to wait 10 days to revive a check from their corporate!

We have three pieces from Value City Furniture in Boardman at our house now and we are in love with all three. When we bought our house in 2018 we went out looking for some quality pieces to replace our current hand-me-downs and shopped all over. The prices are decent and like any other furniture store, they have the lower end lines and the higher end lines.We bought the couch first and a year later, came back for a sideboard and TV stand. What made us come back was the honesty and the good deals. We also found out that the company is privately owned and operates under a business model set out by the founder decades ago which appealed to us immensely.The only complaint we had is when the couch was delivered, it wasnt put together correctly. Otherwise, we feel good about our purchases and will be back in the future!

The worst place to buy mattress. They show you one style of mattress on the floor and when you buy it they bring for you Different mattress The new mattress have a hole in the middle the inspector they come inspect it took two weeks can you confirm the mattress is bad and the store manager he don’t want to take the mattress back and the credit our account he wanted to give us another mattress do we pay more money I advise everybody don’t buy mattress from there the manager is terrible and the customer service terrible

If I can rate this a 0 I would. Waited 4 months for our furniture. Finally came in my husbands went to go pick it up, mind you he went out of his way to getting a truck and trailer to get it. Came home we unwrapped the plastic it was in and there was a long tear in the arm or our couch. I called them and they said they can have another to us 4 days later, but yet we had to wait four months for it before. Not to mention were pretty sure they gave us the showroom couch as it already has holes where the legs go and already looked as if the couch had already been attached. save yourself the hassle and importantly the money. I will never go here again.

I placed on order on February 23. The pick up date was scheduled for March 31st. 965$$$$. The next day some lady calls and said it wouldnt arrive until May. It was my daughters dream bed so I was accepting. Now I receive a credit card statement wanting me to pay before I have a confirmed pick up date. Ps.. I am waiting on hold now for 1 hour and 15 minutes!!!! So at the end of call the customer service member told me Id get 100$ off when it was paid for. I paid in full. Now, they are telling me there is no record of any discount nor will the bed be in until JULY now!!! A bunch of liars and thieves.

Ordered a couch and loveseat on 9/13/20. We have had our pickup date pushed back 5 times at this point. I understand Covid is delaying things, but 4+ months? I called the day before the newest pickup date (as I hadnt had my date rescheduled and figured Id better double check) and get told the order is pushed back another two weeks! Ive already paid in full, taken numerous PTO days, and made arrangements for help to pickup. Will be canceling my order if rescheduled again.

Horrible buying experience, order was messed up, many delays in shipping, very unprofessional, we will not buy again from value city. the part that I found unacceptable was i was charged a 15% restocking fee for a section of the couch that was not supposed to be on the order. The delays and mistakes in the order were no big deal, but charging me for your mistake will keep me from ever coming back.

Ashley from the corporate office even admitted how strangely insincere you people are. Take your business elsewhere I warn you!Original review: They deliver the furniture exposed to the elements. It was pouring outside and I had to wait for this $900 ELECTRIC chair to dry out before I was able to sit in it!! Just for it to make me itch!! They tried to deliver it a second time and again, exposed to the elements. No thank you!! You should deliver peoples furniture in its original packaging as agreed upon initially, in order to avoid unhappy customers.. dont let their reply fool you.

I attempted to buy a bedroom set from here. The sales person was rude and very dismissive and pretty much told me they had nothing for me. I was there 5 minutes and decided I would rather build one myself then deal with that person again. I heard the same thing from someone else that was there 2 weeks ago. I want to give this store a big fat 0. My Daughter and I went to this store on Friday, January 8, 2021 to purchase a chest for her room. We had to search for an employee. The woman that waited on us was nasty and condescending. I want to go into greater detail but I am waiting to speak with The District Manager and/or Corporate Office. Could not have gone any worse. Sales guy gave me 100% false info on every question I asked. Once I was going to purchase I sat in finance dept where I got more false info. Was informed about “lease charges” then was told by the finance lady, she didnt Know what they were because she “hadn’t read it”. Once I was 90% done with my paper work to purchase I was told the chair I was buying wasn’t in fact genuine leather, which is the only thing I wanted to purchase. Would not recommend. Very uninformed and I wasted over an hour during this process.

I bought a bed, mattress, dining room table, and sectional. Due to the coronavirus, I was told some of my items would be on delay (I was okay with that). The bed and table came in two weeks, the mattress took a month, and HALF of the sectional took another month. They constantly pushed back my delivery date, but I tried my hardest to sympathize with them while still being charged every month. Well on Friday, they delivered my other half with NO phone call, NO text message, NOTHING even though they did with my other deliveries. I was home by myself and I told them I had to move my old couch which would take some time. They couldn’t wait (which is understandable) but they wrote it off as a refusal which I did not. When I called Value City, I was met with disrespect. They told me I would have to pay another delivery fee because they left me a voicemail a week prior. When I told her I didn’t have a voicemail, her response was “Who doesn’t have voicemail, do you know what year this is?” Then I lost it. That is not their business why I chose not to set up a voicemail. Then she said rudely, “We told you in the beginning of August we were coming today.” So after arguing for some time they waved the fee but said it will be delivered OCT 31ST and hung up on me. They don’t even deliver to my city on that date so I called back and told a woman that was not plausible; she said “ooo hold on one moment” and handed the phone back to the disrespectful lady who then changed it to NOV 4TH with what sounded like a smirk on her face. So they want me to pay for furniture I do not have every month while it just sits there because some miserable lady wants to feel good and play God? No thank you. I would not recommend anyone to order any furniture from them at this time.

Bought a $700 sectional from the Ricardo line 6 years ago. Synthetic leather, they actually still havent for sale, for the same price too. We bought The extended perfection plan as well. 4 years later the material on the armrest is disintegrating, and this is a couch that sees almost no use, with the exception of Easter and Christmas sometimes when we have extended family over. To get the company to honor the protection plan was a big fight, hours on the phone, then delays in service. In the end the company only replaced one section of the sectional, and two years later that is also breaking down now. I guess you get what you pay for? The furniture may look nice on the showroom, but I think in the sub $1,000 tier its not made to last. Ill never buy the protection plan again. Wife now is looking at a higher end tier furniture at the same store, but if it was up to me, Id look elsewhere.

Sales person in Boardman, Charlene, was exceptional and supremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. The two delivery people Tim and Domenic made this the best sales and delivery experience in my memory. We have recently built and furnished two homes and nothing compared with this experience. Tim and Domenic were professional, neat, extremely polite and a credit to their parents and employers. They assembled and placed the furniture and adjusted location per my wifes preference. This was a Gold Star Experience. Please recognize these employees in some way so that they know how unique and appreciated they are.

I have ordered from them over a period of many years and got many things and never have I EVER been so angry! I recently purchased the Artemis Table set with corner bench and both the long and short bench for my family. I was so excited and waited with anticipation to finally have a table big enough to enjoy breakfast with the entire family and not feeling cramped together. The day of delivery, the guy said our long bench was broken and they brought bar top height chairs instead of regular table height ones. No problem, the next week they came back and brought another short bench instead of the long and again...high chairs. So now we have wait til August to get silver chairs. By then, we would be out of warranty and orientation. What if they bring me those higher chairs for 3rd times? Forget it! I had to change my color to black chairs just so Can eat with my daily next Wednesday and not risk it.I need new couch, bought my last 3 Couches from them, and I guess I wont be coming back tonight place!

Bought a $1000 7 piece bedroom set. It took a month and a half to arrive which is fine because I figured Covid is doing that to everyone. Then when they finally arrived they arrived an hour earlier than the allotted time, again not as big a deal but it’s starting to add up. Then when they set everything up the delivery men informed me that the nightstand was damaged during pickup and someone from the store should have contacted me. Then they told me that the screws for the mirror installation was missing and they couldn’t install the mirror on the chest. I called the store 3 times and heard 3 different things from 3 different people. I ended up just deciding that I’ll come into the store and pick up the nightstand and mirror screws and do it myself. Problem is they can’t even give me an estimated date for when either item will arrive or even IF it will arrive as the manufacturer is changing things because of Covid. Very very dissatisfied with this entire process. Mistakes happen but to be so nonchalant and careless about it is infuriating. They would have said nothing to me if the delivery men didn’t bring it up first. I will NEVER be returning to any value city again and make sure to tell me friends and family about my experienceEdit: I sent an email to the Value City Furniture customer service email that was in the comments.....crickets so far. Overall my experience was not good. I was in the store for at least 10 minutes before anyone asked if I needed help. After standing by the mattresses for 10 minutes I was finally approached by an employee. I told her that my budget was 1500. I also told her that I was price comparing because Sleepy Hollow did price matches. After telling the sales person that the woman at sleepy hollow recommended a hybrid to us based off of the questions we answered, she replied “ she probably just said that to get you to spend more.” That was a complete turn off. I have been in sales for 11 years, and that is sales 101... you don’t tear apart the competition. Once the woman understood we needed to furnish our entire condo and were paying in cash, her tone towards us changed. I asked her to write us up a quote for a mattress that was $1350. Even though she understood our budget, she brought us the write up at $1770. This was for a mattress protector and a $79.00 delivery. After my experience there, I walked out and threw the write up in the trash and went and purchased from sleepy hollow.

I went in with my Mom today to purchase a sectional. We were waited on by Donnie, who at first was awesome that is why we returned and asked for him. When we told him what we were looking at and if we could apply for credit, my Mom asked a few questions and he answered her in almost a scolding and rude manner. He made us feel very uncomfortable and like we were an imposition to him. We unfortunately left without completing the process. We will never return to this store.

He helped us find the perfect set but we decided to go shopping around a little more before making such a big purchase. We went to several furniture stores in our area and Donnie was still on our mind. So we decided to go back to value city today and waited for Donnie to arrive, Again he was awesome. He once again helped us find exactly what we were looking for and with the help of Jim we walked out with our purchase and are truly happy customers. Bo was our delivery driver and he was great! Called me 30 minutes ahead of time and had no problem finding the place. They were efficient and surprisingly quiet for putting together furniture. Our salesman Bob was fantastic, we were in the store several times before we made a final decision. When we did, we purchased three rooms of furniture from him. Once the furniture was delivered, Alberto and Nelson were our delivery men. They were professional and so nice. We were worried they wouldnt be able to get the couch through the door but they did it with ease. Great guys! We have had a wonderful experience start to finish thanks to these three men!!

Great experience at the store, and our delivery guys Vincent and Sam were amazing! We bought a large couch and werent sure if we would need to assemble it on our own. Vincent and Sam were on time, brought everything inside in perfect condition, and then quickly assembled everything for us. They even moved the couch around the room to the exact place we wanted it. Overall a great experience!

She was nice and personable and made us laugh. She helped us find the perfect couch in our price range and didn’t make it an all day thing. Adena was absolutely the sweetest person to take care of us. We were looking for bar stools and a dining room table. They didnt have anything in stock but she went the extra mile and sat with us searching there website. Because she took the time we found the perfect stools and they are coming right to the house. I would highly recommend that if you are shopping for furniture go see her. You will not be disappointed. She will give you the time that you need.

Timothy and Anthony were extremely helpful during my visit. They were very knowledgeable and patient with my indecisiveness. Buying new furniture is always overwhelming for me. George Brown and his partner pulled up in front of our home and carefully delivered a very large couch navigating several sharp bends without hitting the lights the walls or the other furniture and left 20 minutes after they arrived with our living room looking awesome!! Our house has a 3-tiered deck with quite a few steps. No complaints from the team and they worked well together and efficiently. My king size bed and dresser got delivered today and Terry and Yardie was amazing I just knew it wouldn’t fit because the way the king size headboard was made. I was scared it wouldn’t fit up the steps because of how tight my hallway is In my house and when I tell you they went above and beyond (took my front door off the hinges etc.) this was by far the Best experience I ever had with delivery man from value city. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS
