Our server was amazing, the food was delicious, we sat outside looking at the flatirons is beautiful fall day... I love that you get 2 sides with your entree. I love a savory breakfast option with potatoes but also often want something sweet... This was the perfect solution!
Love 💖💖💖 this place, great creative sandwiches and other dishes. Great music 🎶🎶🎶 a helpful food servers. Great place for a relaxing meal. Boulder Strong 💖💖💖 I had the Denver omelet, which comes with two sides. I choose fresh fruit and potatoes 😋😃😋 But there are many other dishes including the most amazing cinnamon rolls 😋😁😁😁😋
Yet to find another place with better gluten free pancakes. Good value for the food and lovely spot
First visit and instant fan! Went with their breakfast menu even though lunch looked great too. Pumpkin pancakes are amazing as are their potatoes and cornbread biscuits. Portions are huge and prices are very reasonable. Our server Makayla was helpful with suggestions and checked up on us the appropriate amount of times.
The lattes are amazing! Fresh breakfast, bursting with flavor! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good grub! We went for breakfast! Delightful!
Great food and amazing vibes here! Weve been multiple times for the big dill eggs and the banana walnut french toast. Absolutely sublime! The coffee drinks are refreshing and wonderful, too. Great outdoor seating thats shaded and very attentive and charming waitstaff. Well definitely be back, Im telling everyone about this place.
The staff is really friendly! It was nice that they refilled my coffee mug and glass with water. I give it 4 stars as I would love to see more vegan options on the menu. Just wanted something small to eat so I ordered a bagel and some salsa as a topping.. maybe some jam or nut butter would also be nice?==Edit 05/25/2021: Thanks for the response! That would be great. Look forward to it!
I’m from out of town and was looking for a quick bite between hikes, and that’s how I found this GEM! I had the pesto quesadilla and it’s one of the best things I’ve put in my mouth. Their Boulder latte is also a must have if you love espresso! The staff is super friendly and service was quick. Next time I find myself in Boulder, I’ll be making another stop here!
Got brunch/lunch options. Great food and drinks. They were not ready to substitute any ingredients - which is generally accepted in any scratch kitchen. (One of us is vegetarian and instead of meat wanted replaced with veggies - they made it but charged much extra for it).
Great experience!Fantastic staff, excellent & creative food, and a warm atmosphere makes this place a *must* the next time you are in the Boulder area!!
Really really wanted to love this place, but after giving it 2x a try...my order came missing something both times. Wait staff is definitely sweet and nice (Im from my a family who runs a small restaurant so I know it can be tough!), but did take a while to get the order corrected - and in the missing items both times always looked rushed.
Very Boulder cuisine. The waitstaff is attentive. The food is good.
Make sure to head over and get yourself a Duzer-Rrito!!! You won’t regret it! Thanks for sending me over to try it, Ryan.
My french toast/egg/sausage/potato was really good, but took off a star because my friends avocado toast was super sad looking. Both on the toast and the avo
8 years after my last breakfast here - South Side Walnut still so good! Excellent food & fast friendly service
Wonderful food and service. Excellent selection. Quiche of the day was some of the best I have ever eaten.
What a perfect place to go for some level of normalcy with the pandemic slowing down a bit. Seems like they are still getting back in the swing, as service was a little slow, but after being closed for so long who cares! Good food, good shade on the outside seating what more does one need.
The tofu scramble is so so bland. Please add seasoning. I would visit this place so often if you would just add some seasoning to your tofu.
Went back after many years because I moved out of the neighborhood. Was as excellent as I remember.
Reliably great meals, quick and friendly service.
Favorite breakfest joint in Boulder! I love the weird artwork and the eggs marcos is awesome!
Love this place. The food is great, the drinks are better, the view is best. Oh and the people are betterester!
Great service and amazing food great for brunch
The food is very average breakfast food. When you finish adding whip cream and maple syrup its overpriced, average breakfast food.
Overpriced and extremely underwhelming. $12 + tip for 1 piece of toast, 2 unseasoned eggs, and half an avocado with spongy banana bread? I know were in Boulder but seriously? Also, the rona-rito that they advertise which is their only adequately priced item does NOT contain two eggs like it states on the menu. Although its local and the outdoor venue is nice, this restaurants food is a slight step below Waffle House for 3x the price.
My favorite place in Boulder! Yummy food.
Love this place. Always delicious and sweet with kids.
Ended up on the Northside for breakfast, liked it so much we did the Southside for lunch! Simple, tasty, fast.
It was SO good to be back at South Side this morning, sitting in the sun and eating their great food!! It gave us a little piece of feeling normal in our neighborhood again. ❤❤💔❤❤
Great breakfast. The blueberry cornbread was really good.
Tasty omelette and potatoes for breakfast on the pleasant side patio.
The food here is absolutely amazing, great location, good prices.
Every time I go here I am amazed by how fast my food comes out. And its always great! Everything on their menu is really pretty good.. The blueberry cornbread is to die for. Not sure what coffee roaster they use but every single drink I get from them has been delicious. Servers and bussers always super attentive and friendly. Love all the new outdoor seating !
I like this little joint. Its poppin and the staff are cool. They can make a good mocha and the vegetarian options are dope. I like the burrito and the hash dish thingy. Good spot to sit at the coffee bar and read or meetup with the south boulder peeps. Ask about how the tables are named for the servers if you dont like the place after that then well maybe boulder isnt your place 😉
Always a great experience su the South Side. Food and service are exceptional!
Down home chow at a fair price. Friendly staff and regulars.
Friendly staff and great selection of coffee
Love it! Great neighborhood place for brunch and lunch.
A good, casual eatery in a convenient Boulder location.
Good food but loud inside
Great food, wonderful service.
As always, great food, comfortable atmosphere, good service.
Food was great loved sitting outside in the sun.
Food was bland. Service was good and location was nice.
Such great outdoor space! So happy they are open and dog friendly.. would have been 5 starts but it seems the servers did not know we were here or uncertain who was supposed to
Today I tried the Big Dill Eggs. So delicious! The eggs were perfectly cooked leaving the yolks runny to soak into the English muffin. Topped with a cream dill sauce, this dish is a light, yet hearty meal.
Friendly service. Good food.
Good service, great make you own omelette. Great potatoes, reminds me of Lucilles or the old Rocky Mnt. Joes potatoes. The dill sauce is fantastic, a worthy opponent to hollandaise.
NOT DOG FRIENDLYGood service but mediocre food and NOT DOG FRIENDLY as advertised. We were in town from Florida visiting friends who had a pup that we took exploring with us in Boulder. After looking up dog friendly restaurants, we stumbled upon the Walnut Cafe. We were excited to see the large patio area that they directed us towards outside...until they told us the dog could not be on their property and had to be tied up on the other side of the steel barrier on the edge of the restaurant patio. We should have left then, but with one person in our group having low blood sugar and in need of sustenance, we decided to stay. We tied the dog up on the steel barrier and sat down as close as we could. She was literally in the middle of the side walk. Luckily it was a pretty slow Saturday, but she had no shade and ended up being stepped on by someone walking in the path. They should NOT advertise dog friendly if they are just going to make you keep your animal in the middle of the public walk way.As far as the food, it was mediocre at best. Definitely not memorable. The service was great until the end. We waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to collect our check, but when she never came back the waiter clearing the table next to ours came and completed the transaction.10/10 would not return.
One of the best places to go for Breakfast in Boulder when you want something solid, reliable, and delicious. Despite almost always being busy, there is usually little wait and they have one of the fastest and most consistent kitchens Ive ever seen. Great vegetarian and healthy options, and if you need a solid kick in the morning, youre going to want to try Dana Ds Vanilla Blast.
My server(female from Pittsburgh)whos name escapes me was really friendly and recommended many great dishes. I had the banana Walnut Waffles, they were very good
43 dollars for meh breakfast burritos... The guys commented on the serious lack of bacon in our bacon burritos.... Pretty much decided well stick with parkway Cafe for the green chili duties
This place has the most amazing lattes (to go, as well). Had a 30 min lunch break & decided to stay for a meal - made possible by an incredibly attentive hostess. Great location, good breakfast food, fun staff & ambience!
Eggs Marcos. That is all.
Every time we eat here we are never disappointed. It is a great Sunday morning go to spot!! I love the specials. Everything is fresh and delicious. And some of the best. Coffee and lattes in Boulder!!
Absolutely delicious and the service was phenomenal. Highly recommended this place.
Realistically 2.5 stars, if 1 is the worst-5 is the best..food was decent enough to eat (the potatoes and pancakes need some work). Nothing special, but better than a Dennys. Service was friendly but not attentive. I had to get up to retrieve my own cream for coffee after asking and waiting ample time; and the same for other needed items. Not terrible, but not 4-5 stars.
Great coffee and food!
We came in and sat for 10 minutes with no service. Multiple other parties seated after us were served. We got up and left
The people are pleasant here and also there are lots of comfort foods and the covid spacing is wonderful.
Consistently delicious, very reasonably priced! The gluten free pancakes are more delicious than the regular ones regardless if you are gluten free or not, and the coffee drinks are delicious. Downsides? So popular because it is excellent that sometimes you may have to wait! Not sure where else you should eat breakfast if you are in South Boulder, this place is the best!
Amazing Gluten free waffles!!
I lived right across the street for years and then only a couple miles aways for a few more years. This is my go to breakfast spot in Boulder. I tried most of the things on the menu and settled on the ranch eggs, with sides varying each time because there are several good options. I would also get the specials occasionally, which have always been excellent. The vibe is somehow relaxing and energetic at the same time. The staff are great. The artwork on the walls changes periodically. Parking situation is very easy. It can get pretty crowded on weekends but at worst I think the wait was about 30 minutes. That was pretty unusual in my experience though.
Great service and a fun place to eat. I want to love the breakfast but everything tastes the same. Maybe because the spices are a bit overwhelming (paprika? Corriander?) but its like this for everything Ive tried. Peace and enjoy!
Great atmosphere with lots of colors and personality. The breakfast food was amazing and would highly recommend stopping by here before hiking. They have a nice little outdoor seating area (very important for those who have to be outside) and our waitress was very nice and attentive.
So delicious! We got here just in time, around 9:30 on a snowy Sunday, before there was a wait. I had an omelet with dill sauce on the side. The dill sauce is a must! So good. I had the special snow day latte which was a little sweeter than I like, but their black coffee is solid. The service was great and we left happy and full.
Always a great option for breakfast when were visiting Boulder! The food and coffee are both amazing. I highly recommend the eggs Marcos and the biscuits!
Excellent breakfast quesadilla light, airy, flaky. Excellent big dill breakfast, dill sauce was on point. One of the best egg Benedict style dishes Ive had. Pancake batter delicious. Travis is a good human.
Just had a Chef Salad that Steve served. He was able to switch out the Swiss & ham for more turkey & pepper jack. Tasty salad!
Super Dope Food, Super Dope Ladies 💯🤘🏻
Great food with a short wait time even on a Sunday morning during brunch hours. The cafe was busy with the option to order your hearts desire of breakfast food. Extensive list of crafted coffees and the breakfast potatoes were delicious.
Or family really enjoys this place. The service is generally very friendly, and it feels like a warm, positive, neighborhood spot. I wouldnt come here for the healthiest meal, but theres plenty to enjoy for everyone. A particularly-enjoyed dish is the vegetarian sloppy joe. Also, for kids, the toad in the hole or the smiley face pancakes.
Food is not great. Came in on a Saturday. It was busy. We ordered eggs, sausage, coffee, and it was really not great. The service is great and I really like the vibe of this place. But we were really disappointed with the food and the coffee.
Very pleasant experience
Walnut cafe is a great place for breakfast or lunch! Pie day is tuesday so make sure you dont miss out on that. I usually frequent a different location but its all the same food and the orders are pretty much never wrong!
Always good.
Good food, friendly service. Alas, service was a little slow (probably because we sat outside, and they were busy. In hindsight, I wish I ordered one of their breakfast specials. Next time!
This place is fantastic! Fresh. Delicious. Great service. Clean. Friendly. Going back tomorrow. Biscuits and honey were phenomenal. Breakfast sandwich...great. Cannot say enough good things about this establishment. Go.
Best breakfast and best team working there, hands down. My favorite place in the region to go for breakfast. Once while waiting outside in the snow, the owner brought around hot samples of food to delight us while we waited. Thats leadership right there.
Cute place. Super menu and food was so yummy! Fun staff and fast service. I would highly recommend for a quick breakfast.
All in all, this is a great spot for a casual breakfast. The staff are very friendly, and theres an excellent atmosphere here. If you sit on the patio, youll more than likely be able to see the Flatirons! The food is consistent and very delicious; the grits tend towards the blander side, but everything else here is really excellent.
This place is AMAZING! Delicious food at a great price and Steve was so personable and kind! Highly recommend to everyone! They even gave us complimentary cupcakes! If youre ever in the area definitely stop by!
Ive come to the southside regularly for over a decade. Food is great and service is even better every time. Also a great for kids!
Quirky neighborhood cafe for breakfast and lunch. Not Michelin cuisine (or prices, yay!) but good, fresh ingredients and interesting twists on your standard fare.Took my grandmother out to lunch here and the staff were so kind and patient with our extra needs.Friendly and helpful and interesting people. Excellent food. Great Specials. Had the Dill Tuna Melt, absolutely do not regret it, so good.Only regrets - my stomach isnt larger and I dont live closer.
Such a warm and welcoming eatery. I go here regularly mostly because of the wonderful staff. The food, objectively speaking, is good but not anything special. Like I said, the awesome staff and the superb service more than makes up for it.
The worst breakfast meal Ive ever had in Boulder. Overcooked eggs, undercooked and unsalted tasteless veggies, and terrible service. The server told us their customers are old so thats why they dont use salt. I dont know one chef in the world that doesnt use at least a little bit of salt for flavor! They also charge a ridiculous amount for a side of sauce ($2.50!) and they dont tell you ahead of time youll be charged. I paid $18 for food I couldnt eat. The server brought us the wrong food and didnt offer to take care of the meal I couldnt eat when I told her of the issue. Home fries were good but potatoes alone dont make a meal. Ill be sticking to the Buff from now on.
