Ive been to every major town and ski town in this state and this is my favorite gift shop ever! Theyve been there for about 45 years and the selection of kitchen and dining options is staggering! Absolutely love this place. Its situated smack dab in the middle of Pearl Street and is two stores in one. You have to go here when visiting Boulder!! Your heart will thank you!
Do you like kitchen gadgets? Gourmet foods and fancy dishware and settings? The Peppercorn has been on the Boulder mall since rocks were new. Im always fascinated by the strange little gadgets they seem to get their hands on. They also carry things like Bodum glassware and things such as electric mixers, blenders, etc. A really fun place to browse through and pick up something for the cooks in the family for a present. Of course, you are most likely to find something that you cant live without.
Great inventory of products. Staff need to be more customer-focussed; they declined to replace a defective product bought 36 hours previously. Upon appeal to the manager (Susan) the replacement was completed promptly and cheerfully. Learn from the hotel chain that granted every employee, top to bottom, $500 authority to keep a customer happy.
A must visit store on the Boulder Pearl Street Mall if you have any interest in cooking…or even if you don’t. You can find all kinds of cooking gadgets, dishes and appliances, cook books, spices and sauces…just about anything you can think off and then some. Great place to just wander through. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Who can resist a kitchen stare that has everything you can think of. Every trip to Boulder, my mind wonders into the land of fairytale and chopped as I picture myself running through the store collecting all my favorite pots, pans, knives, and gadgets and creating a fascinating cuisine that puts Gordon Ramsey and Bobby Flay to shame. This place has everything you need to outfit your kitchen and dining areas. The quality is amazing. Nit looking for out fitting your kitchen? As a tourest town, the akso have great small gift ideas for you special occasion or holiday shopping needs. If you cant find it here, you are not looking! The staff are very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable.. Pricing is reasonable on most items, but the di sell quality, so several large items can get pricey, but they are well worth the price. Im Already looking forward yo my next visit!!!
They have everything you could ever ask for in a kitchen store, it great. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Wish they were open later into the evening.
What an amazing selection of cookware, cards, tableware, mugs and so much more. Definitely go!
They have everything. Id go five stars but the prices are significantly higher then other sources for the same items. The staff does a great job and does make up for this a bit in overall service.
Cute store that has a little bit of everything. Unique finds all around.
Love love love this store! So dangerous to walk in and browse for over an hour. Obscure items are found on their shelves. And stuff that you didnt know you needed!
Upscale cooking and home goods store is a dream for any cook. It’s a shame the customer is lacking for an upscale store. Clearly told the salesperson I was a buying a gift and proceeded to wrap it in brown paper and made a bad attempt to put tissue on top. Spending &130 for a gift and the presentation doesn’t match. Worst part is the other salesperson doesn’t attempt to help him. Someone clearly needs to train the employees better in the art of a presentation.
My inner chef and hostess is elated to report that Peppercorns is a delight for the culinary soul and the artistic eye. Arrangements of items that are top quality and intriguing are everywhere. Little tiny wooden spoons, large appliances such as waffle makers and linens for the table and kitchen really touch my gourmet heart. I found a wine bottle opener that will pass airport security! Snacks, hot sauce, books and many gadgets that you didn’t know you needed are all right here.
Every time I need something for the kitchen I think of Peppercorn. Since the late 1970’s it’s been my number one go to place. As I’ve seen several local businesses disappear from Boulder it’s now more important than ever to shop local businesses. The vast number of choices at peppercorn are mind boggling. Not just that you can get a pan, napkins, cookbooks, exotic food items, utensils, etc all in one store but the choices within every category of items is astonishing. As well, Peppercorn has things you can’t find anywhere else. It’s where to go especially if you need something unique for kitchen or dining.I like to think of it as the McGuckins for my kitchen! Also, the staff is friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about their inventory.
Great shop with lots of great ideas for the home and cooking. Great for fun and unique gifts. So much to see!
This place has everything you could ever need in a kitchen. Its adorable!
Great store, lots of cooking tools and devices to choose from. Friendly employees willing to help.
Great eclectic kitchenware, cookbook, dining & drinking accessories store.
Typical kitchen store, interesting products that tend to be pretty pricey.
Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We got some spicy jelly here. They also have a lot of amateur and professional barista supplies here from coffee grinders to espresso machines!
Ive been going here with my mother since I was a small child. It hasnt changed since I was little and it shouldnt! I love all the kitchen gadgets and wares!
Interesting and unique shop full of souvenirs to take back home.
Fun place to browse, selection is eclectic
Great store..so many products. Difficult to find a sales associate to ask questions but checkout was quick and easy.
Just wow! So much to choose from and anything thing you can think of for your kitchen and home. Will take a few visits to see it all!
Nice place, plenty of kitchen items, puzzles, molds for popsicles and candy, preserves and jellies, candy, etc. They have reasonable prices but arent to wheelchair accessible Isles are narrow but some are more passable than others.
So many rare hot sauces of extreme heat! If you love spicy hot sauces and BBQ then this is the store for you!
Always go here when I visit Boulder. Happy to see they survived the pandemic. Fabulous as ever.
They have the coolest novelties!
Best store in town.
Board selection of kitchen stuff. I could spend hours in there. Williams-Sonoma, but cooler!
Excellent as far as large cookery stores go. Certainly preferable to Williams Sonoma and (now departed) Sur La Table. If you are looking for just about anything for the kitchen, youre likely to find it here. Their cookbook selection is particularly noteworthy. That being said, dont expect too much small-brand or artisan equipment. I went in looking for an artisan, carbon steel chefs knife, and only found the big German and Asian brands in stainless.Surely, there are local Boulder-area bladesmiths whose work they could feature, or someone from Colorado who does crockery (like a hand-made tagine or clay.pot)? This seems like an easy win.
Great place for kitchen gadgets
Our favorite store on Pearl street.
When youre in Boulder, a Peppercorn visit is a must. Books, appliances, tools, and a whole lot of stuff you didnt know you needed. Chocolate and candy. Linens. Humor. What else could you ask for?
I have shopped at the Peppercorn for so long, I can’t remember. It’s a beautiful store. The staff is always helpful and it was today. It is a destination for me when I am in Boulder .However, today was hurtful. Checking out at the main cash register, I noticed anti-Trump items displayed there. They were obviously being promoted . As a conservative, I felt disrespected. I know I was in Boulder but I was a customer, making a purchase and I was made to feel unwelcome. I would never impose my political beliefs on one of my clients as a matter of good manners and of respect. One should not impose their political beliefs on a customer. Period. I’m not for Cancel Culture but I’m going to have a tough time going back to a beloved store that made me feel unwelcome. If you have these kind of products, place them in the appropriate departments and not at the front counter . Please .
Fun place to stop by when on Pearl. Tons of selections when it comes to cooking materials and hot sauce. Decent prices, especially for being on the main strip in Boulder.
This is typically one of my favorite stores to go to, but the customer service was terrible. Not one person greeted my family and I, nor asked if they could help. I stood at the cash register waiting to pay for several items for quite some time without a single word said to me. There were two cashiers standing around trying to find wrapping for a guest. It took a lot of back and forth from the 2 cashiers to figure out how and where and who to contact to get wrapping for this customer. Finally, the paying customer told me to go ahead and told the cashiers to help me first. When I finally left, I said thank you, only to receive a lukewarm, YUP. During COVID, when so many people are unemployed, one would think businesses would be more grateful for paying customers, especially dropping money on items at a store that is so expensive. I know Im certainly grateful to see guests spending money at my place of business. I certainly will not be spending any more of my hard earned money at this store where the employers think theyre doing the customers a favor just by being present. Super rude employers & left a bad taste in my mouth.
The best kitchen supply store Ive ever been in. If you cant find it here it may not exist! Great Colorado finds and an excellent candy selection
Its an amazing store. Literally everything you could want for your kitchen. From spices to tablecloths. So many cool & fun items to explore. Just keep in mind everything is pretty pricey. This is Pearl St after all.
Big store chock full of interesting tidbits. Theres a second level as well. A Boulder classic. I dont end up purchasing much in there compared to say, Mcguckins, but its fun to browse.Everything is priced at the top end, so Ill definitely check other sources before purchasing there. If you are a cooking enthusiast and money isnt a constraint, youll love this store. Its got a lot more stuff and more character than Sur La Table across town.
It was fun I purchased a few trinkets I did not find the selection once offered but, thats understandable given our circumstances in the USA
I love this store. So many gadgets to pick from.
Fabulous kitchen store. I look forward to visiting whenever I am in Boulder. Great kitchen gadgets and an amazing collection of cookbooks.
They have literally thousands of options.
Have been going for years. One of my favorite stores.
I just want to comment on the outstanding customer service of the Peppercorn employees. They are so amazingly friendly. Susan especially was so courteous and helpful. She helped find a box that would fit the enormous candle I purchased. The box had to be cut to size, which Susan was able to do in no time. She packed up the candle with such loving care since she knew it was intended to be given as a Christmas gift. It is so nice to encounter employees who genuinely care about their customers and who show such kindness and concern. Susan, you are so appreciated! :)
One of Boulders best everything stores. Great place to just look around and find something you didnt know you needed.
This store is an absolute must to visit on Pearl Street. There is such a variety! You cant see everything in a day.....you have to keep coming back over and over again!
Could spend hours in here.
What a great store, so many unique items. Yummy snacks, local honeys and so much more. Well definitely be back.
Awesome stuff. Really upscale things upstairs. Fun dishes and dinnerware, cookbooks, candy and more. They even have a little coffee shop. This is my favorite place to get presents for family members. You can always find a reasonably price very expensive looking item and they also gift wrap for free
Amazing kitchen store
So beautiful!
Cute shop. Found too many things I wanted to buy!
An upstairs clerk followed me around like I was going to steal something. I just left.
Great place!
Best sea bass in town! Great service. Great drink menu! Darkened, intimate, and a view of the city.....pretty much a perfect evening!
A must see for home decorating. Also, specialty foods, cookbooks and a large kitchen area with all you would need. I shop here every time I visit Boulder. Excellent staff. Fun items like vintage candy, and all you might want for party foods or picnic. Plan some time here as there are 2 levels in this store.
Employees were so friendly and attentive, it would be hard to enter this store and leave without something. It is massive for the Boulder area! I love the cocktail books and sets, all of the coffee gifts, and the local Colorado goods. So happy to have this in my neighborhood.
I have placed an online order mid February for which I received an email confirmation. Since I never got any shipping updates I contacted the store by email as well as directly over their website asking for an update. After 4 messages went unanswered I finally gave up. Really disappointing experience :-(
Guilty of shopping while brown. I was wandering around while my wife completed her purchase but felt this odd feeling of being watched. Finally I checked my surroundings and noticed the same employee was near me everywhere I went. I made my way to the door to wait and guess who was there watching me. I dont judge people on their color or appearance but today I was and it doesnt feel good.
This little store isnt so little...from the outside you may think it isnt worth checking but if you do you will be amazed. Any and everything you may need or want for your kitchen, cooking and decor needs. The store owner is a wonder and sweet soul and her staff carry her kindness throughout the store.
Peppercorn was an awesome experience and everyone is so friendly! They have beautiful selection of unique cookware and household decor. Susan was so helpful and informative when it came to picking out an aesthetic for my dining room. She even helped me carry my bags. Fantastic place and wonderful staff! Will definitely be doing my household shopping at Peppercorn.
This is one of my top favorite stores, it has a collection of most things for your house besides furniture. If you’re looking for something for your kitchen, especially pots, pans, gadgets this is the place to go.I absolutely love this place and every time I go to Boulder I have to go to the store.I WOULD go back because I always do.
Its the McGuckins of Housewares. If you know, you know.
This place is NUTS, in a good way. Its an ADD dream. Everywhere you turn there is a new set of dishes, a new style of wall art, every color spatula you could want. It is a one-stop-shop for all your kitchen and home decorating needs, if youve got the cash - some of the stuff is kind of pricey, but its all high quality. Its a visual treat just to walk through as well.
A stimulating store that has every beautiful accessory a person would want for their kitchen. Ryan and Mary deserve the exceptional customer service award for completing detailed research for me about a unique item I was searching for. High fives to them and thank you.
Everything in here is so unique and fun! Great selection of cookbooks and really friendly and helpful staff.
An AMAZING place where I found so many things I never knew I needed! They have everything kitchen related you could possibly be looking for! Along with a bunch of rare sweets you might not be able to find at your local grocery store
Very reasonable prices, 2 floors of interesting stuff and the place is clean.
Came to this store 3 different times already to spend some money and for some reason I have been unable to make a purchase. Very unhappy on how i was treat by the woman who had greated me. I will take my business else ware.
Love Boulder, always visit The Peppercorn.Great selection of unusual gifts, cookbooks and candy. So many things you dont find anywhere else.
Be prepared to find everything and anything culinary!
This is a great place to go for holiday shopping and fun trinkets. They have lots of candles and chocolate and fun stuff.
If you love to cook, this store is for you. They have all the gadgets, utensils, pots and pans, etc., from all over the place. This store is big, so take your time. I usually get stuck over by the cutlery and Japanese dishes. I like the French knives from de Buyer, most stores dont carry them, but Peppercorn did, which is surprising. They actually have in stock some high end pots and pans, love to cook with hand made, black steel saute pans, which they have hanging. For people that like to cook, you know what Im talking about. They might not look all shiny, but its all about their cooking properties. Anyhow, check them out next time youre in the area, definitely very interesting wares sold here.
Nice little shop
Fun store if you enjoy cooking. Great cookbook selection. Many gadgets. I love to stop in here when in Boulder.
So much to look at! They have everything for the house, kitchen and unusual things. Love the store! Some things are quite expensive.
Superb kitchen and kitchen goods selection with huge home goods and linen sections as well. Very wonderous and large unique shop
Make sure you enter and exit the proper way or they’ll make you feel stupid for even coming into the store!
Peppercorn is my go to place for German Chocolate, English biscuits and tea.
Greatest shopping experience of my life. And thats saying a lot. Excellent staff, excellent selection, beautiful products and display overall. I make the drive to Boulder and brave the crowds of Pearl Street specifically to shop here.
I love going to the Peppercorn to browse around the store. They have an amazing selection items, some very unique. But unless its something you cant find elsewhere, dont buy it at the Peppercorn. Find it in another store, especially if its a large ticket item, because the Peppercorn will never give refunds, even if merchandise is defective. But if you love kitchen gadgets and cooking, this is a terrific place to spend time looking around!
What a wonderful show room! You could just spend hours here. But I cant imagine that you would ever want to buy anything. The same products, if you buy them online, are a fraction of the price. Its hard to have such a cool store but not feel like anything is worth buying.
This is one of our favorite home and kitchen stores anywhere -- and we appreciate it even more since our local alternatives have gone under. The selection is impressive across all the categories we care about, and all of the goods weve purchased here have been excellent quality. One of our favorite items is the selection of R-rated coasters. They will liven up any party, and they make great birthday trinkets and X-mas stocking stuffers.
A wonderful store. I wish I could live in this store. My fondest wish is that they would open a Peppercorn in Baltimore!
Everything under the Sun!! You name it and this store has it. Good prices and friendly staff.
Peppercorn is the best independent store I have ever been to. They have everything you need for a home.
If you need a creative gift, go here. If you meed to smile, go here. Its such a fun place to shop, wander, get inspired!
This is one of my favorite cooking/kitchen stores ever. They have a huge selection of anything you would need for a party or your kitchen. They have a huge selection of local and otherwise products including jams, jellies and sauces. They have dozens of hot sauces for you to chose from too.The store has a untold number of cook books for any cuisine and many kitchen tools for making those dishes. The prices can be a little expensive but equally, many of the things here are unique.
Always a fun place to browse, and like today pick up a few hard to find kitchen items
Absolutely beautiful kitchen and dining ware. The employees are helpful and very knowledgeable! A must on the Boulder Mall
Pricey, but good for gifts and has a great selection of chile sauces. The only place in town I managed to find smoked salt, so bonus points for that. Staff were friendly and made a careful job of wrapping gift items in my purchase for me.
