Vision Source is my new lifetime eye care home. Every aspect of my visits has been absolutely superb. My exam was thorough and conducted with utmost care and with the very best of technology. My new glasses and RGP contact lenses are, no exaggeration, the best correction, best fitting Ive ever had. Dr. Bedinghaus is fantastic. He is very thorough in his examination and he takes the time to explain everything. The rest of the staff is also very friendly and accommodating. One of the women up front worked with me for an hour trying to help me find glasses I was happy with. She was very patient and kind. The facility itself is pristine.

By far the best eye exam I personally have ever had. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. This made my visit an outstanding experience.

My husband was on a boat trip and got something in his eye. We use Vision Source in Alabama so I called the nearest Vision Source to Bradenton, FL. Dr. Troy Bedinghaus was willing to come in after hours on a Sunday or the following day. He and his office went ABOVE and beyond with customer service!! IF you are looking for eye care, this practice is where you want to go!!!

Me and my partner loved this place the doctors are great and they really take care of you, we went referred by our insurance and we loved it ! but even with the insurance it was kind of expensive and we didnt like the checkout part as we were no inform one procedure was not covered by our insurance... but anyway THIS PLACE is very organized and DR Petrosky was gentle and he helped me choose my first prescription as well y partner felt very comfortable with him we look forward to keep coming to get seem here thanks so much to the front desk staff and doctors assistants

Very impressed! Everyone made me feel so comfortable and welcome from the moment I made the appointment on the phone to the time I arrived to seeing Dr. Bedinghaus himself. Excellent from start to finish! Also very efficient. I am especially impressed with Darin, the optical technician. He really went above and beyond to help me get just the right pair of glasses, and spent a lot of time working with my insurance and then following up with me with regard to the progress he was making. I could really tell that he cared about making sure I got just what I needed and that he was willing to go the extra distance to make it happen. My highest compliments to him!

We walked in the day before my daughter went back to school and said we had decided on the glasses. They understood that she was leaving the next day and said they would be able to make her glasses that afternoon and to come back before they closed. It turned out GREAT! I was very happy with my visit. My entire family will be going here for eye glasses. I especially was happy with the time spent selecting frames. Natalie was incredibly helpful, patient, and funny. I trusted her opinion and found that I was surprised I liked the frames she chose when they wouldnt have been one I selected. Dr. Bedinghaus was both professional and easy going. The whole place was professional looking and yet everyone had an easy going manner and sense of humor.They have a good selection of frames and their equipment is all state of the art - including something Ive never seen before that maps the contours of your face/eyes to provider better lenses.All in all I was both impressed and pleased with my experience.

I look for value when dealing with professionals. Value includes a relationship between price paid and the level of service received. I paid a lot (!) of money for a new pair of glasses. Problems from the get-go including the prescription and fit.Had to go back because with new glasses as I could no longer read street and road signs. Initially told by staff that it was probably cataracts. I then asked if the cataracts had developed in the past 5 days because I didnt have a problem with my old pair of glasses.Also the frame had been accidentally bent by the first technician.Was set up with new exam and they revised the prescription. Also ordered new frames.I had also ordered new lenses for my older frames. They repeatedly lost these and they finally arrived back at the office 3 weeks later, but the staff couldnt locate them for 25 minutes.I have rarely low rated a business having come from a service business background myself but I have to say that this experience showed an office that was poorly organized and lacking in competence.Perhaps this would be reasonable at an off-mall shop but for the money, I would not recommend this place.

Professional and courteous staff, they always make sure to go the extra mile. Dr. Bedinghaus is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to answer questions along the way. I recently had a concerning issue pop up and they were able to get me in that day and do a thorough examination. Couldn’t be happier with their service.

We have been using Lakewood Family Eye Care for several years now. We are always very pleased with how the staff treats everyone. Dr. B is always gentle, pleasant, reassuring, funny and has a smile for everyone. We have never experienced any issues either with staff, products received, or appointments made. I have referred many of my friends here and we will keep seeing them for many more years to come.

My two children have had excellent care by Dr. Bedinghaus. The staff members are all pleasant and treat my family with respect. I am now considering a transfer to this practice - the new location is very convenient! On another note, my son had an appointment last week and his new eyeglasses were ready that same day! Awesome experience from Appointment scheduling all the way to the visit! I highly recommend this practice!

The workers here were so rude that you’d think that they are your customers and you’re trying to appease them. One of the workers, specifically Anastasia was very eccentric...and was clearly full of herself and thinks she can treat anyone the way she wants to. Also, they charged me for something that they didn’t tell me they were doing. I clearly told them “I just want to get a stronger prescription” but they did some imaging to make sure I was healthy. I’m 18 years old and more healthy than the above average person. I don’t need it. If I felt like there was something wrong, I would ask for imaging. Also, where we sign they add the imaging fee on the side of the paper with a black background (you can BARELY see it). The overall energy was negative and everyone that worked there looked miserable.#2- Being a mother of a disabled child doesn’t give someone a right to treat others harshly. Everyone has their own problems. You guys did not verbally tell me anything about the imaging, but Target at UTC does. It’s the same price but I would happily get it done there just because at least they make you aware of what you’re buying. Target has better customer service, too. So yeah, this standard of eye care is a bit low for me. Even Target is better. By the way, the attitude you give me in your reply proves the type of “customer service” you give. Your regular customers are gullible old people and that’s why you don’t get complaints.

When I made my appointment I thought I was making it at a different eye care establishment. My insurance co had the wrong number. I was about to change the appointment when I decided to take a look at the reviews and saw at the time that there were 15 with an average of 4.9, so I kept the appointment.That was definitely the right decision as the staff are extremely friendly, and the good Dr. was not only attentive and efficient but ON TIME.The technician was very helpful in my selection of glasses and there was absolutely no selling pressure, which clinched the sale. Highly recommended.PS They serve great coffee

The staff and Dr were very accomodating and detailed. Having refreshments is a big plus especially when coming right from school and being there for a while for 3 exams and fittings. I highly recommend this place!! Thanks--we are excited to get our new glasses!!

Lady that helped me must of been having a bad day, did not care to explain anything about lens nor what would be available to me. All she could tell me was her personal problems and how tried she was. The ladies that answer the phones are the best I have ever encountered, nice very professional, and very caring. From the time I was brought back into the treatment area, everything was explained and any questions I had were answered completely. I was a little preoccupied with my business the morning of my appointment and Dr Bedinghaus was more than happy answer my non-optometry questions and offer a bit of advice. It is always nice to work with people who treat you like a person rather than an item on a punch list. I have found my eye care professional.

My wife Michelle went here and absolutely loved it. She said the staff was amazing and went above and beyond for her. Barbara made shopping for new glasses like shopping for a luxury car (so much fun!). She has recommended this office to everyone she knows in need of eye care.

Staff is very friendly and patient. When my daughter tried contact lenses for the first time, they sat with her for a LONG time to help her learn how to put them in. And when my son broke his frames, they were able to replace them quickly and at no cost. Great staff all around, and very skilled in their areas of expertise.

After my insurance changed providers I went back to Lakewood and paid out of pocket rather than continue to deal with who my insurance offered. Always treated great there and Dr. B did a much better job of determining and addressing my Rx than other places. He really listened to me and worked with me to get it done. A big thank you to everyone there!

So far I have had excellent service. I will get my new glasses in 2 weeks. There a special order. We shall see how I like the glasses but for now I am very impressed

As a new patient, I couldnt be more pleased with my choice. Beautiful, inviting, well run office with state of the art diagnostic equipment. All the staff was exceptional and Dr. Troy was a charming, gregarious man genuinely interested in patient care.

I need some reading glasses to use with my computer monitors, so called in here (I live nearby) to see if I could get some lenses to use with a frame that I already own. They (young lady at front desk, who went off to check with someone else - not the doctor, who was busy) were unwilling to do a simple sight test to determine my prescription. They insisted that I needed a complete eye exam, even though I had one 3 weeks ago with my regular eye doctor. I gave them the name of my eye doctor, but same response. The test alone would have cost $164 - who knows how much more for the lenses. I called my regular eye doctors office in Bradenton - they will provide the lenses for $99.

The office was extremely clean and inviting, not to mention they have a great selection of eyewear. The entire staff including Dr. Bedinghaus was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them if youre looking for an eye doctor!

I scheduled an appointment, and had the necessary forms which needed to be filled out emailed to me as to reduce wait time the day of my appointment .The front desk staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming upon arrival. I was offered refreshments and told to have a seat or browse the wide selection of frames available while I waited. The waiting area was clean, comfortable and accommodating (wi-fi- and a charging station for multiple/various devices).Dr. Bedinghaus was pleasant and thorough in explaining to me his findings after his initial examinations were completed. Mrs. Bonita T. assisted me for the frame/lense selection process. She went above and beyond and was VERY PATIENT with me. Never rushing me or trying to push a product or a sale. She went into great detail about the various types of lenses and what the differences were between each type in regards to environment, such as behind the wheel(driving) sunlight as well as indoor and outdoor glare. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this office location for any future optical needs, as well as highly recommending Vision Source to family,friends, or anyone else.

Lakewood Family Eye Care is fantastic! I cannot recommend it enough. Everything about the eye exam is cutting edge and efficient. Their diagnostic testing goes above and beyond the current standard and yet the process is still the fastest I have experienced - resulting in far less eye fatigue and a more accurate prescription. Dr. Bedinghaus is very kind, knowledgable and approachable. He really cares and everything about his practice reflects that. The eyewear specialists are absolutely incredible, making selecting the frames and lens products that are right for you not only comfortable and easy, but also fun! The selection of frames is extensive and wonderful (they have something for everyone) with a nice range of price points. Additionally, the eyewear specialists are just that - specialists. They are not sales people and do not work for commission. You can feel confident that they really do have your best interest at heart. I have been wearing glasses for eleven years, have worked with multiple doctors and eyewear boutiques, and have complex vision issues. I can say without any hesitation that Lakewood Family Eye Care is the full package. My only regret is that I didnt find it sooner.

Decent place but communication could be better. Among other things, when we picked up the glasses we were given a pamphlet with an offer for a discount on a 2nd pair of glasses. When we called back to order the 2nd pair they wouldnt honor the offer and didnt have a good reason why.# 7/10/18 updateThank you for your quick response. I do want to point out a couple of things so that others reading this are aware. We purchased glasses from you 6 weeks ago and just called to purchase a 2nd pair using the coupon you gave us. IMO, one transaction has nothing to do with the previous one, so saying that because we got a great deal 6 weeks ago that the coupon isnt valid seems questionable. That said, I can accept it, and now people reading this will know. Secondly, I have to say something with the claim that you received the best product at the best price. Because of this whole issue, we just checked with Target and I can get the exact frames and comparable polycarbonate lenses from Target 20% cheaper than the special childrens frame and lense package we received 6 weeks ago. I guess I shouldve checked there before contacting you for the 2nd pair to begin with! Hopefully others can benefit from this info.
