From the time I sat down to purchase my pool to the installation process as we did our own, each and every encounter I have had with any of the staff has been nothing but Outstanding. I enjoy the fact as a new pool owner that no matter my question I will get to talk with someone who is experienced and may get the opinion of more than one. No matter what time or day I have been into the shop my experiences have always been Top notch. I drive an hour each way to get the things I need from this company. Our experience with Sandollar could not have been more positive. The sales personnel were extremely knowledgeable and helped us select the right spa. The spa arrived on-time, despite all the delays in the industry. The spa, which is a hot springs model, is AMAZING. Its extremely comfortable, has great features and makes managing the water very easy. And the Sandollar service is exceptional. They made the install process look easy (which it most definitely was not) and everyone was friendly and very informative -- we loved working with them. The follow up service has also been world class -- they offer free water testing and have helped us get our spa water just right. Cannot say enough good things!

Buyer beware they more then double their rates for service last year they charged 133.50 to close our small hot tub and we have the tarp and ropes and this year they more then doubled the rates 275.00 sanddollar made an error and corrected the mistake. Way to go. I call that good business practice.

This is the third time Charlie has come to service my hot tub. We have never had to wait for service! He was polite, fast, and knowledgeable. We wouldnt call anyone else.

Service is horrible! Set up a appointment in May and they never showed up at all. I stopped in and they said that that guy was fired. I said ok I would like to have a few parts replaced so they apologized and said that they would put me at the top of the list and I will see them by the end of the week. That was 4 weeks ago! Never showed up or even called me! By this rate I think that I would get better service on my pool at Goodwill then this pool store!!!😡

Charlie from SandDollar Pool & Spa, is definitely one of a kind! I I live in Bar Harbor, Maine, and geographically, we don’t have a lot of options for maintenance or repair on our spa. We keep it outside, year-round, so we have Charlie come every fall to winterize it for us. I think it must be about seven or eight years now, that we have used Sandollar, & I would never even consider going anywhere else!If you’ve ever met Charlie, then you know first hand, that he may come off a little gruff, at first, but, after you get to know him, you realize that it is only because he is so amazing at what he does, & he is in such high demand, that he is constantly on the road, driving from one town to another, so, if he happens to come off a little gruff, it’s probably because he’s absolutely exhausted!The last couple of years, we have had quite a bit of damage to the spa, from the increasing mice problem, here on the island. It’s becoming an extremely expensive process as well! But, every single time we have a problem, we call SandDollar’s, & wait for Charlie to appear in our driveway. No matter what the problem is, he always finds it, and usually, finds it extremely quickly!!Obviously, there are times when parts have to be ordered, but for the most part, I think he has one, of almost everything, inside that van of his, and if he doesn’t, you can rest assured that it will get ordered immediately, and he will be back, to make sure everything runs properly.I, personally, look forward to every time that Charlie comes to our house to service our spa! He is extremely patient, calm, and he always takes the time, to explain everything that’s happening with the spa, & what will be needed to fix, repair or maintain the spa. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and is a lot of fun to interact with! Thanks for your endless hard work, Charlie!!

Poor communication! Hidden fees! They installed a pool last summer for me, and it turned out terrible. Not what I wanted. The workers are unprofessional taking their shirts off and cussing. Would not recommend!

We bought our hot tub a year ago during the beginning of COVID-19. We have had nothing but excellent service. I have been having trouble recently with my salt water tub, trying to keep all the different chemicals balanced. They walked me through it on the phone a few times and never got tired of me calling. Everyone was super polite and helpful. When I still couldn’t get it right, Charlie drove two hours. When he arrived he was able to assess the situation and talked to us about options. We chose to convert the hot tub, he did it right then on the spotfood And by nightfall, we were ready to roll as usual!Charlie is the man and sure does know his stuff! But highly recommend this company.

Sanddollar has been our go to place for all of the pool and hot tubs we’ve had for the past 25 years. They have always been friendly, gone beyond to help us when things went array, and quick to correct any issues we’ve had with our purchases. Late yesterday afternoon when the wind was whipping and temperature dropping, Charlie and crew came to our rescue fixing the heat system before we hit single digits last night! They are the best!!!🌟♥️🌟

None of the 5 employees in the store today were masked.When I asked why, the new owner said they all have doctors notes. How convenient for all of them in their own little bubble inflated by excessive self-interest! Unlike a previous reviewer, Im not going to average this behavior with previous good service from former owners. Take your business, as I will, to a store where youre treated with a little respect.

Shout out to Charlie at Sand Dollar Spa and Pool. He was able to come over to my home and do the repair on sight saving me big bucks. He was informative and helpful. Charlie event took the water sample with him and emailed me the results. This saved me a trip the next day and allowing me to get on top of the chemicals so that I could enjoy the spa the following evening. Thank you Charlie and the team at Sand Dollar.

We used their moving crew for transporting a tub originally bought there and the 2 guys were great. Really helpful and happy to teach first time owners. We had a tub issue, likely from the miles of dirt road in transport and their service person Patrick was also very friendly and came out quick to assess. When bringing in water for testing they again have a great system and print out exactly what to add to the tub.

I would highly recommend! Charlie has been winterizing our hot tub for many years. He always coordinates us with another appointment to save us money and schedules us as quickly as possible. We have had our hot tub for 7 years and never had an issue thanks to Charlie closing it up for us each year.

I want to highlight Charlie! When the power to our spa kept turning off unexpectedly, he saved the day. Charlie drove all the way to Jonesport soon after we called and fixed the problem. He is both professional and friendly and I highly recommend him and Sand Dollar!

The two stars are for good past experiences. First of all, the last two times I went in this summer there was no mask compliance or social distancing. Secondly, I asked for my pool to be closed; it wasnt, and I was then given three different reasons why it wasnt closed over the next three calls about when it would be done, was given promises it would be rescheduled, and it wasnt. I had to spend multiple hours clearing leaves out in the meantime.I know theyll respond by saying that they have pictures of how my backyard was an absolute wreck or that there had been a rager because a few beer cans had blown by the pool. Ive seen the state of the backyard on the day in question, there were a few objects that blew around in between the 6 hours I was there and when their crew showed up, but nothing major. My tenant could have taken care of those things quite quickly.In any case, theres no excuse for leaving me in the lurch after that, promising to come back and not doing so, and then telling me it was 1. because I had said I wanted to be there but wasnt (not true, I spoke with the guy that morning and said to proceed), they said they tried to reach me the day of (but didnt leave a message), that there were multiple branches and all sorts of other things in the pool so we were doing you a favor by not closing it, and then finally that there were some beer cans, some plastic, and a chair in the way and that we dont clean your backyard, thats not what we do. Didnt think you did, the snark isnt appreciated, simple communication would have gone a long way. In any case, I wont be returning.

Just believe me when I tell you these folks care about their customers. When I had an issue they took the time to fix my problem and make sure I was totally satisfied. I found the staff and owners were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend doing business here.

Helpful and friendly staff! We’ve had our pool for many years and a week before our oldest’s graduation party our pump died and the pool turned bright green. Our friend recommended Sandollar to us. Not only did they go above and beyond to get a new pump in time they tested our water and took the time to explain everything to us. Thank you Caitlyn! We even called them later with questions and they were happy to walk us through everything over the phone. With the right chemicals and advice our pool was clear blue in no time. If you have a pool I definitely recommend Sandollar.

I would not leave even one star if that was an alternative. Sandollar people are snarky, inattentive, and downright negligent with customers. I have been threatened, yelled at, and left in the lurch by these people, from the moment that they installed our in-ground swimming pool and it filled with mud. Anytime that you call, they patronize the customer with bogus nonsense about how much theyve done for you, We only shocked our pool when opening it in the past because we are being nice to you (?!).As if doing their job is a massive favor to the customer. Do yourself a favor and call Island Pool and Spa in Verona Island. Salt of the earth, caring, and step up people.

I had an issue with the restart of my hot springs spa after having it shut down for three months while it was at camp. I called the store and Sales Manager Chris sent two available technicians right over that had just returned from a job. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Sandollar since purchasing my tub last fall!

Stop in and see Chris. He will answer all of your questions with honest answers. Very easy company to deal with. Give them a try you will not be disappointed.

I usual do not write these types of negative reviews. I try to support local business (but you are not really local when youre operating like a snowbird business). But this one pushed me over the edge. Your employee laughed at me when I told her in what order I had added your chem to resolve the copper in my water. I had followed the BioGuard printout step by step but by doing so, I had wasted all the shock ($300 worth) as the anti-copper essentially negated the bleach. She told me I cant do this even though your BioGuard instructions told me so. Terrific.Am I a customer that you cannot please? Nope. I just wanted you to take accountability and ownership of the instructions your business sold me (at a premium).As for the upgrade of your chemicals and your sarcastic remarks on the tablets from Sams, there are two pool chemical manufacturers in the USA. This was the second reason I had to write this review. You buy from the same source as Walmart and Sams Club. The mark-up of your chemicals is not because they are superior products, but to keep your lights on. I get that. I have not issue with paying a premium to help you guys out. But please do not laugh at me if I use tablets from Sams. Its the same chemicals (and the retail business knows this). This is where business ethics matter.My advise - rehire your old loyal employees that served your family for years. Its really bad management practice to fire the best employees you have the first thing you do as new owners to save a few dollars. I had to pay for your inexperienced staff along with a few insults on my way out from your store.

I have being using SSP for 11 years. New owners dont know what they are doing. They hire 15 year olds with no training to give bad instructions on what, when and how to balance your pool. I wasted $300 in chem so far. No apology or accepting their mistake but blamed it on their BioGuard system that you pay for indirectly for marked-up chemicals. They just wanted me to buy more chemicals to fix THEIR error. Go elsewhere. Save your money and time.

I have been completely impressed with the service and products that we have received for our spa. They set me up with all of the right equipment and even tested my water for free to give me a step by step set up for my spa water. I have called them since initial set up with water cloudiness and such and they have helped me to fix the imbalances over the phone for free. Great company with great staff.

Usually helpful when you are buying something but if you want to have work done on your pool they put you off for weeks and make you feel like you are asking too much to just have it looked at.
