This is an amazing store. The staff is what gets the 5 stars. They were helpful, energetic, and just plan fun to be around. I am not a contractor, just a regular home owner with some silly questions. They helped me out with kindness and respect. The knowledge base of the staff gave me confidence that the material I bought was right for the job.

Bill Krause of Hammond Lumber in the Brunswick location worked with me over a few months while I built my first significant structure. Bill assisted me with picking out the right shed and associated plans to start my project. He went through the materials list with me line by line and offered a tremendous amount of information on options and alternative materials where he could tell I wanted to deviate from the plans a bit. They supplied all the information the town required for permits and offered his experience and insight at several steps along the way. He called and checked in to make sure I was doing well and assisted with several different orders along the way. This shed, now Mini Barn wouldnt have turned out the same without Bill and the great team at Hammond. I cant believe how much time Bill offered me during my project.Hammond has an excellent selection of building materials and supplies, tools and accessories and the folks are all eager to help with what ever you may be after. Prices are great and Im left wondering why youd go anywhere else for building materials as the quality and selection is excellent. The location is convenient and the folks are great. I had several deliveries of materials made to the house and the folks were all wonderful and professional. Thank you so much for everything!

My wife and I are building a she shed. The workers here are friendly and knowledgeable. I know the price of wood is high right now but they still seemed reasonable here.

Dear Jason Gagnon,My wife and I have just completed a renovation of our kitchen and bathrooms. We have worked with Hammond Lumber to help design and coordinate the renovation. We want you to know that the renovation went very smooth, and the coordination with all the subs was outstanding. We are extremely satisfied with the handling of the renovation and the results. And throughout this work, we have been living in the house, and have had no inconveniences to our daily living.Why am I emailing this to you? Its because a main contributor to this renovation, right from the start, was Chris Fallis. From helping us pick out the style we wanted, to designing the layout, to providing drawings of the renovation so we could see what it would look like (this was extremely helpful to my wife and I because we are both visual people who need to see something to really understand the outcome), to making sure all the appliances were designed in the most efficient layout and would fit correctly in those spaces, to the on-time delivery of items, the coordination with the builder and all the subs involved in the installation/renovation, to coordination with the subs on a couple of minor repairs after the build (we were extremely impressed with Chis work on that coordination / management), to the final checking in with us to make sure everything was complete and to our satisfaction.WOW!!!.... did he do a lot, and what a GREAT job he did!So My wife and I both wanted you to know how every pleased we were to have wound up with having Chris take care us us. I own a small construction business, I wont go back. Tried several times to work with them, they treated me, and my wife poorly in person and over the phone. Over crowded with cranky sales persons talking over each other.

Hammond Lumber allows their salesmen to impersonate designers and destroy dreams. Due to their employee and his judgements, numerous shot cuts were taken on my first home, my dream come true. Only to be destroyed by an employee. After numerous experts, inspections, etc. my home needed nearly $300,000 in repairs to bring it to code. Then railroaded into the unimaginable! My stability and well being are gone, yet he’s still employed? To learn this was an intentional act of the employee, only made the situation more devastating ! The emotional, phycological and financial damage caused by this individual is irreparable.!

Ive had across the board great service from the crew at the Brunswick Hammond Lumber. Last summer (2017) I worked with Rachel in their kitchen design to design our kitchen layout and order new cabinets. She was excellent, attentive to the most minute details and helped us immensely with the whole project. Have also worked numerous times with Courtney in sales and hes been superb. Recently ordered Marvin Integrity replacement windows through Courtney, for which he came to my house to accurately measure and take detailed notes. Cant ask for better service. Their deliveries are always on time to meet my schedule. Have never had a problem. Good people.

What a stress relief working with consultant Bill Krause. No matter what problems I had, he was always ready and willing to suggest a different way of solving the problem. He is a gem to your company. Old school kindness all the way. For my project, from start to finish, everything went really well thanks to all the people involved. I have not done a project like this in a long time and it was very difficult for me. Although my project was small, I was treated as if I was building a large home. Bill gave me a lot of patience. 5 plus stars to Bill and Hammond Lumber Brunswick.

Worth your time to stop here, the service is prompt and helpful. Wood and all the trimmings (e.g. saw blades, drill bits, router bits, screws, bolts, etc.) are in stock. You have many resources at Hammond Lumber but your most valuable resources are the people who work there providing incredible customer service. Almost 3 years ago, my husband and I decided to sell our home in Brunswick and return to Cleveland when he became ill. This was the year of multiple winter storms that resulted in significant snow and ice damage to our home. At that time, I worked with Matt Stelzer at your Brunswick location to arrange for the purchase and installation of some new windows and a new roof. Throughout this process, Matt was patient, informative, efficient, helpful and sensitive to our difficult situation.Just over a year ago I returned to Maine and moved into a newly constructed condo in Bath. Unfortunately, I have experienced problems with several of my Andersen windows. Based on my previously positive experience, I recently returned to Hammond Lumber hoping for information and guidance about my options. I first spoke with Ken Bouchard who validated my concerns showing me how Andersen windows should look and function, and informing me that Andersen would want to be made aware of my problems. Ken quickly identified Matt Stelzer as the person with whom I had previously worked and sought Matt out on my behalf. In spite of how long it had been since I had worked with Matt, he remembered our personal story and the work that was done on our home. He generously volunteered to come to my new home that same week where he examined the problem windows, and made a video on his phone documenting the structural and functional problems. He quickly provided me with the contact information for the Andersen Customer Care Line and forwarded the video to them.People like Ken and Matt go beyond providing exceptional customer service. They serve as ambassadors for Hammond Lumber in the community. They are wonderful human beings and great examples of why people want to live in Maine. I plan to be a customer for years to come.
