Great experience, knowledgeable and thorough staff. Instrument selection is small but superb quality. I was impressed with some of the vintage restorations (having checked them out on their website first). This place is for the discerning musician/consumer - its not guitar center! I walked in with a budget and left with a really unique baritone acoustic guitar.

Very unique string instrument/guitar shop. Owner was welcoming and offered input where wanted. I have come back for a few years and bought both a mandolin and violin which I am very happy with. Just off of Church Street its a great stop during a stroll through South Burlington. Up the stairs its a bit hidden but well worth it.

A sweet small store. Lots of high quality instruments from ukuleles and mandolins to guitars, custom instruments, and unusual finds. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to drop off a banjo for repair and bought chord books for my ukulele and mandolin. Highly recommend this shop for everything from strings, repairs and quality instruments.

Awesome music shop. Such a great collection of string instruments and such wonderful service. Great vibe. The way a music shop should feel. Thanks for being in town and for taking my guitar for a quick fix when I dropped in.

Noah is not what I would call the immediately warm and fuzzy type, but if youre looking for someone whos knowledgeable about strings and will be able to help you pick and instrument or fix one, hes your guy.I dont have comprehensive knowledge of every music shop in town or Greater Burlington, but Ive been playing since age 7 and feel confident in my saying that this guy is on the level and good at what he does!Cant comment personally on lessons at Randolin, but if youre looking for hearsay, Ive heard that theyre great here.

I recommend Randolin Music. This is a great place to bring your guitar or other string instruments for repairs or modifications. The owner is very knowledgeable and charges fair prices. I have purchased instruments, songbooks, and strings here as well and Ive always gotten a good deal!

Randolin Music now has an expanded shop and showroom that I found both friendly and fun. I could sit on the couch in the showroom and try out any instrument I wanted. The mix of new and vintage instruments gave me the opportunity to compare instruments across both quality and price range. And it was a pleasure to have my questions about any stringed instrument answered quickly and understandably by an expert Luther. I will be visiting often.

Strongly dont recommend! I too bought an instrument here that is worth less than half of what I had paid. The guitar had significant signs of use but played okay. After buying it I contacted the makers to find out the year it was made and turns out it was there most basic model when the owner had talked it up so much as a high level guitar. I also then found out that it was being sold other places for half of what I paid. I contacted the owner and he tried refuting what the guitar makers had told me as well as the information I had found. There is no justification for anyone to sell a product for double what it is worth and say that I should bargained for it to drop the price. Instead how about you ask a fair price for your goods that are representative of how much they are worth. Dont make the same mistake I did!In response to the owners comment: The guitar makers are in spain but the representative I talked to was from California U.S.A and the figure I was quoted was in DOLLARS!! It also doesnt matter if I asked for a hold on the guitar (which I never did!), how about you stop making excuses for all the negative responses you get on your business and realize maybe you need to change something. All you have to do is look at his Google rating/reviews and you will see all the reasons why not to give this man your business.

Wife bought me a pair of drumsticks for Christmas from a booth set up at University Mall. Turns out they are the wrong size, so I was hoping to exchange them for sticks the size I use. It took a couple of weeks just to track down the name of the business because the business name was not even on the receipt. Then my wife makes it down there and they still dont have the right size, so try again another time. I call down there and the guy tells me they have a 7 day return policy, but I am welcome to drive 50 miles round trip and buy another pair of sticks for $14. Yeah, I will get right on that. Terrible customer service, so I do not recommend you buy anything from Randolin Music Store in Burlington.

Trying to make sure this is seen. Bought defective harmonicas. They refused return cash and no store credit.I know they can return these to company. Lame excuse about being used. How would we know they were defective if we didnt use them. Bad Service read more reviews not the only one.

I strongly do not recommend. Took more than 4 weeks when I was told it would take 1. Cost was more than double estimate and I was charged for restringing and new strings when I was told the current strings were fine. Not going back.

Public Service Announcement: DO NOT BRING YOUR GUITARS HERE for repairs! I brought him a guitar for a simple neck repair that he said hed done many times. when I picked it up, he charged nearly twice what he quoted, the back of the neck was stained from dripping glue and.... worst of all... the repair only lasted 2 months and is now in the same condition it was in when I brought it there. Be forewarned: The owners only nice when hes selling you something.

I purchased a 1972 Martin D28 from this store last year for $2,300. It has given me nothing but trouble. The bridge recently began to come unglued from the soundboard and so I took it to a repair shop in Maryland (Appalachian Bluegrass, which is a great guitar shop by the way, with HONEST reps). The repair shop told me that the bridge is not from the original guitar (Randolin representative made no mention of this), the braces on the back of the guitar are coming unglued and rattling (not something youd expect to see happen in a guitar a year after its been sold), the neck has been reset (again, no one at Randolin informed me of this) and that the frets are totally worn out and uneven--I have barely played the guitar since Ive had it. In short, the guitar is a disaster and I will be lucky if I can get even a quarter of what I paid for it. Im the kind of person who always tries to give someone the benefit of the doubt but in this case there are two options:1) The store honestly did not know it was selling me an instrument in terrible condition, in which case the repair technicians are completely incompetent.2) The store knowingly sold me an instrument in terrible condition, in which case the persons who own it are dishonest, untrustworthy and fraudulent.Neither of these two options is what youre looking for in a business establishment. Clearly, Im far from the first person to have this experience with these folks. I never write reviews so you know Im pissed to have taken the time to write this one. Do yourself a favor and buy your musical instrument anywhere but here.Update 7/26/17:Im adding to what I wrote before. The owner has some nerve with the reply he provided. First of all, this idea of you buy an old guitar, you buy an old guitar is just further evidence of why no one should do business with this store. Its completely false. I you buy an old guitar from Appalachian Bluegrass, theyre going to make sure that the product theyre selling you is up to snuff and theyre going to disclose to you any clear modifications or shortcomings that the guitar may have. The owner at Appalachian Bluegrass said it was obvious to anyone who has a clue about guitar repair that the bridge was not an original Martin bridge and that it was obviously installed by a hack. So, either you guys at Randolin are clueless, or youre dishonest. I suspect its the latter. Secondly, he said the braces were rattling inside the soundboard so bad that you could stick a knife underneath them. And in fact, he provided a demonstration of this for me. He said no guitar, especially a Martin, should ever have that kind of problem and he said that it would not have developed to the point that it had in the time Ive owned it. Again, this is pure negligence on the part of Randolin guitars. And then this guys been caught red-handed and he has the nerve to offer these weak excuses and try to put it on me. It shows you what kind of business hes running.Stay away from this establishment.

Ive been coming here for a few years now whenever i have issues with my guitar because i know that im in good hands. Theres not one place around id rather go. Nowa the owner has always been fair and accommodating to my needs and even caring as I came in upset one time and without any indication he asked me if I was doing all right and he lent me an ear.. he is a truly good man and a fair business owner. I recommend this place all the time to anyone who is in need of any kind of repair to their instrument or if theyre looking to maybe purchase a new instrument. There is often a selection of instruments you would not find elsewhere in your average guitar shop as well. If youre reading this you have found yourself an honest review from an honest man about an honest business. I am satisfied and grateful every single time I leave Randolin!

Despite it being the only instrument store in the area, it was fairly priced. Burlingtons shops and stores are inflated in comparison to more affluent towns and cities, but this place was surprisingly reasonable for what i needed.Excuse unedited grammar

I started playing music about 4 or 5 years ago, and since then I have bought several instruments from Nowa. The instruments were always in great condition, but not only that Nowa was very helpful and supportive of me as I learned. Just recently, he built me a custom classical banjo and I am in love with it! I cant recommend Randolin Music enough to anyone who has an interest in vintage instruments or someone just looking for quality products.

Nowa always does excellent repair work with my musical gear. He installed a new bridge and pickup on my upright bass and it is playing and sounding fantastic. Hes set up at least 8 of my guitars and basses and hes fixed a bass that multiple different musical repair shops said was unfixable by replacing the truss rod and reattaching the neck. He also put together a broken necked guitar I have and it looks and plays fabulously. He is a great guy and very skilled at his cradles vhe is efficient and often will fix guitars for me same day on the spot. His store if fun with great inventory and Ive also bought great instruments from him as well.

Im a professional musician in the Burlington area. I play in 6 projects in Burlington and Im the guitar instructor at the Burlington Music Dojo. I have taught at Advance Music, Rock Camp, and many of the Youth Programs at 242 Main while I was the assistant manager there. Ive also had my instruments serviced by most of the local luthiers (its good to know whos good). On one hand, we are very lucky to have as many good options in Burlington as we do, but when students and band-mates ask me who to send their instruments to my first recommendation has always been Nowa at Randolin. Here are some of my instruments that have been repaired by Nowa:Solid Body electrics (bolt on, neck thru, 6 string, 7 string, 8 string)Steel String Acoustics (six string, 12 string)UkuleleStand up BassHere are some of the specific repairs hes done:Fret workBridge resetsPickup wiringsFingerboard re-gluesAcoustic instrument pickup installsHere are some talking points about my customer service experiences with Nowa:1) When asked specifically for a quote, hes always produced one and come close to staying within said quote.2) His breadth of knowledge and credentials allow him to do a wider range of repairs than other luthiers in the area.3) He has always treated me and my repairs like a priority (when Ive asked him to stay within a deadline). I understand this is difficult to do with a repair que as large as his.4) He has stood by his work, sometimes beyond the 6 month warranty. Any time one of his repairs hasnt held up hes made it right.5) Because lets face it, money matters, he has always had the most reasonable invoices of any of the luthiers Ive done business with.Again, we have many good luthiers in the Burlington Area. Nowa is always my first pick.

Brought in my guitar TWICE for the same problem and both times I was told it was because of different things and both times came out with an unfixed switch and lost a total of $60. They never tested the guitar after fixing and just handed it back to me. Beyond frustrated and will be looking elsewhere to fix the switch. I will never recommend this place
