I still like to come to an independent retailer with the knowledge and helpful staff like National Camera. They offer more than used and new cameras; equipment, supplies, video, accessories, and they offer classes and training that goes beyond any others in the cities.

Im surprised that this so called Camera store still exists. I was hoping they shuttered years ago. When I was 16 years old, I came to this business to exchange my camcorder for a updated model. Some guy with a mustache kept looking at me and never offered to help. The end result, he called the cops on me as if I had stole my own camcorder to trade up. What a fool he made of himself, my own camcorder wasnt stolen... He kept on apologizing after the fact. Why apologize idiot, you messed up. I truly hope this particular guy enjoy the rest of his life for being such a bigot and karma bites him back real good... His face turned bright red, I think he nearly cried or he might of had too much alcohol, for his own suffering. The past has happened and Im now a mature man. My sincerest advice, dont shop at this over-price store, with bad service. Not worth it, order online, and make this company go out of business...

Ordered a lens hood through them and was promised it would be delivered in 3 weeks, which already seemed like a long time for such a small part. However, after many calls too see where the shipment was, they just kept telling me it wasn’t there yet. In the end it took around 7 weeks to get a simple lens hood that I need for a shoot 4 weeks from when I ordered it. Overall, I wasn’t able to use my purchased part on 2 shoots. Won’t be ordering through them if I am on any sort of time crunch.

Have purchased 4 cameras from them over the years, always had terrific service. Last transaction was for a used camera body and lenses. After a couple weeks I went back to exchange the body for an upgraded body, great transaction.Have always found the team there to be helpful and very knowledgeable about the gear. They take the time to understand what youre looking for and do a great job matching your experience, skills and needs to the right equipment.Would never buy a camera or lens anywhere else.Added plus, prices are competitive or better than online outlets or the no service bigbox.

I cant rave enough about this store. Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. Many of the employees have been photographers longer than Ive been alive and through the conversations I have with them it really shows. I have bought multiple cameras, lenses, and accessories from this company over the years and would absolutely recommend this store to anybody considering purchasing photography/videography equipment. Ive also taken multiple of their classes as well as rented a lens from them - my experiences with both of those services have been excellent as well.

Workers are knowledgeable and very helpful. One of the workers there is very unprofessional and has horrible customer service skills. We ended up walking out and I dont know when or if I will be back. Other people who work there are great so thats one draw.

Most knowledgeable and friendly location for camera, video, and photography accessories. Prices are comparable and in many cases lower than the big box stores. There are also free classes available when making camera purchases. Amateur or professional, this its the place to go.

This is a tough one. Employees are knowledgeable. Too knowledgeable. Unless you are an aficionado, you will feel like an idiot. If you know what you are talking about, you are treated like royalty. I was only asked if I needed assistance because I was looking at items behind glass. Otherwise the employees the 2-3 employees seemed engaged with each other and the 1 customer that must have been a regular.Prices are reasonable for firsthand products, comparable to online stores. Second hand products seemed a bit overpriced. I have purchased here before, but would not go back.

Bought my second camera from them recently and found the staff to be very helpful and Im far from a pro. They patiently answered my questions. They are priced very competitively with internet vendors and when you throw in the free classes you get (which are great) its hard to beat them,

I bought my first DSLR here and have taken classes as well. Everyone is very helpful, informative, and genuinely interested in getting you the equipment you need. I wasnt pushed at all towards more expensive models I didnt need. Ill be back for more classes and whatever I need in the future!

Came from out of town, went shopping on Black Friday to take advantage of a promotion they had for Black Friday. I wanted purchase two batteries and utilize the discount, found out it didnt apply to this form of purchase item, fine. Went to pay, had my wifes credit card(she was in the car, we are from out state doing some city shopping) the gentalmen asked if this was my name of the card. No it was not, but im married I explained and my wife is out in the car(showed him my divers license with same last name) he said he couldnt except that. I argued with him for no more than a minuet then left quietly(didnt want to make a scene). I felt discriminated against, my wife uses my credit card all the time yet women do not get asked if this is them on the card. I felt I was the victim of profiling. Last time I step foot in that store as a white male wearing cowboy boots, black jeans and a black band t-shirt and ask questions about camera equipment then try and buy stuff. Maybe I should have been wearing trendy urban apparel with skinny jeans, flannel button and thick hipster glasses to avoid stigmatization and sarcastic smiles of the employee allegedly helping me...First and last experience in this national camera location. Maybe another location would be better...

Nice store, but....it feels like the employees are not really knowledgeable about some things and just say whatever comes in their mind. Bought two products there and it was not like how it supposed to be, maybe they didnt know.

My photos were sent to Burnsville by mistake. I needed them for a birthday party. Ambria drove to Edina National Camera that night in time for me to pick them up for the party.She deserves a raise and an extra two weeks of vacation!!Thanks

Another great experience at Camera Exchange. I bought too man boxes for the lump scans but found I didnt need them all and they gave me a refund without questions. You have to give them a lot of credit for being in business this long, especially in the digi era.

Great products and service...sales team has good broad knowledge. My camera screen broke, they knew how much the minimum would be for Sony to fix it and could send it in, but set me up with a used replacement camera they had ib stock and transferred from another location.

I shouldnt give a negative review just because they wouldnt pay me tons of money for my outdated equipment. I was just a little disappointed that they spent so much time with my stuff just to say no thanks. I would have liked to know as soon as I put it on the counter that they werent going to buy it.

Service here is really hit or miss. Im in here 3-4 times/year, usually when I need something last minute that I dont have time to order online. About 1/4 the time I get somebody pretty helpful, the other 3/4 they act like Im just annoying them. I try not to showroom at local businesses, but these guys dont give me much reason to buy from them.

Traded in my Canon and was met with informative, helpful staff, who were not pushy in selling the most expensive product but the one that best fit our needs and budget. Would highly recommend!

Ive been to many camera shops, none can hold a candle to this place. I bought a used lens a couple years ago in the spring. When winter came and it got cold 9 months later, the lens stopped working and it wouldnt read on my camera. They gave me a full refund 3 months after the warranty had expired for used gear. It was a 1,200.00 lens used.That winter my parents bought me a variable neutral density filter. 11 months later I used it for the first time, anything longer than a 3 second exposure it would have a giant black x in the center. They gave me a full refund.They let you try anything for 2 weeks, if you dont like it you get a full refund for any reason. With used equipment they guarantee it for 6 months. With my experience they will take it back if its a legitimate reason that was out of your control.Whatever you do though DO NOT buy Promaster here. That is their in house brand and Ive had literally every Promaster product I bought break on my besides the lens cloths.

Not only did they not get my picture done on time as promised. They cropped it incorrectly and cut off an important part of the photo that I specifically requested to be left on. To cap it all off when I came back the third time, to pick up my screwed up photo one of their other customers backed into my truck causing 2500.00 dollars in damage. Why would I ever use them again. I thought they were supposed to be photo experts.

I ordered a used lens from the National Camera Exchange Burnsville store in February of 2014. Before placing the order, I called in and spoke to a gentleman who was very helpful and answered all of my questions about the lens accurately, and he shipped it in less than 24hrs. He took as much time as I needed to make sure I knew what I was purchasing, and was very friendly.Despite the prompt shipping, UPS didnt scan the lens correctly at drop off, and it looked like the lens was never sent. Then my area experienced a sever winter storm. NCEs shipping department was constantly in contact with me, UPS, and the employee who shipped the lens, and they helped UPS resolve their error and I received the lens in great condition.There was literally nothing more that National Camera Exchange could have done to make my experience better, and the lens was already priced better than Ebay, Keh, Adorama, and B&H.I will absolutely go to National Camera Exchange the next time I need a lens. I dont have the kind of money to throw at new lenses, so its good to know that National Camera Exchanges lens ratings are accurate (in fact, even a bit generous- my lens was in better shape than i had expected!), and their service is top notch, even after the sale.
