Fantastic Long & McQuade location. We were in the market for an acoustic guitar and Pat helped us with our purchase. The staff here are knowledgeable, friendly and generous with their time. This store is large and well stocked. I thoroughly recommend a visit!

Ive been a customer for years and years and i must say i deal with Chad from the cambridge store and he goes above and beyond always. Being a bass player himself he gets it. Highly recommend Chad for all bass players. All staff is great as well.

This is where I have bought all my music supplies. I have taken lessons there as well. During the 2020 lockdown I made use of their rental service. Great prices. I rented a few guitars and decided to purchase one as I didnt want to take it back.

Very helpful staff especially Chad who is also an excellent Piano player. Was not planning to buy that day but end up buying.

Not so knowledgable with Acoustic guitars. Body crack w/ no damage to frame was daunting enough for them to figure. Not to mention they said its virtually irrepairable and instead suggested on purchasing a new guitar as an alternative (wth). Figured out today from the other guitar store that the repair is certainly doable. So props to Long & McQuade Cambridge! Never to visit again.

I was in a few weeks ago and bought a Gibson sg epiphone style. Dave assisted me the whole way and it was a pleasure to have such nice staff at such a great place. Love the guitar and ill be back for an sg soon! Excellent service.

Always a great experience at the Cambridge Long & McQuade. The last time I was looking for some gear and some advice about guitar effects the sales associate, Chad Morey, was extremely helpful finding what was best for me. He gave just the advice I needed for finding an inexpensive device to hook my rig up into my MacBook so I can play with headphones and build the pedal board that’s right for me while I save up for a nice little tube amp. Lots of quality options and even a nice selection of used effects pedals too. There was no hassle with an item I was returning and the atmosphere of the store is upbeat and welcoming. I bought my first guitar with these folks years ago and it was 5 stars then and still 5 stars now.

What a great selection of musical instruments! Plug in virtually any guitar, strum away, rock out or shred. Try out pianos, drums or acoustic guitars. They are all there. They have everything youd need to step into the universal language of music. My grandson and I love this Les Paul.

Apparently, they have a musical instrument repair shop that doesnt actually repair musical instruments. I called about a bad connection on the back of my m-audio keystation 88 and was told, quite matter of factly, that if they didnt sell it, they cant look at it and I should contact the manufacturer about the warranty... ( Ive had it too long for a warranty to even exist ). Only fixing what you sell... that ISNT repair... thats product maintenance. Dont advertise a repair shop unless you actually repair stuff.

The selection is great abd the store is beautiful. Most of the staff is friendly. The guitar expert who helped me was a complete jerk; dismissive and condescending in the extreme. I understand that trying to explain differences between electric guitars to someone who doesnt know a lot might be frustrating, but thats part of the job. Get over it and dont pass your frustration onto the customer.He tried, despite my protests to redirect me to drums (because I said it would be my first choice but that its just not practical for me right now) and I had to put up a LOT of resistance just to get information about guitars.From there he said - without much context - that at this point I might as well close my eyes, take one of the wall and give it to you. Wow. Super helpful. At that point I told him I would go elsewhere and get some actual help. Finally the chill came off his approach and he decided to actually do his job.I wont be back to this location. Never felt worse about asking questions. Yikes.

Ive learned so much about audio gear from visiting Long and McQuade locations, mostly this one. I usually have to expect to add an extra half hour to my visits because I could talk to these folks forever.I stay on top of my financing which has led to me being able to really step up my quality of equipment, and its nice that theyre always willing to work with me if Im stuck or get behind.I appreciate the knowledge, patience, and time they take to thoroughly assist their customers.

I was intrested in trying out some Uke Basses. Lucas was a great help from speaking with me on the phone before I came in telling me about the diffrent modles they had and also was a great help at the store.The strings on the U-Bass I wanted to buy appeared to be very old and Lucas said he would make it right by sending us new strings since they did not have any in-store.Great customer service at this location. They take care of ya. Was worth the drive from Simcoe.

Hoping to trade for something newer, I recently brought in a 40 year old solid state amplifier that I bought new in ‘79. I loved the amp but it had become much too heavy to drag around to gigs and I’d been able to mike my smaller amps in the last few years. They offered a fair price for the old amp towards a new one and, as always, was very impressed with the professional, knowledgeable staff. A great experience every time I visit this L&M!

I must say this place is amazing! I have been taking lessons from here for 3 years and bought many of my stuff from here as well! The staff are very professional! I came in once to buy a piano and the staff who helped had great insight. It was quick and simple! They excellent quality products and if you wish to try something they dont have out on display they will gladly bring it out.

I brought a kalimba in to get it tuned. An employee, Dave, had not even played a kalimba before, yet was able to tune it successfully within 10 minutes. I was very impressed with his attitude and excellent service! Thank you!

Overall selection in this store isnt bad. There can sometimes be an issue with attitude from some of the staff. Thats not meant to paint everyone with a broad stroke. Sometimes, they can be very willing and helpful. I have no issue recommending a visit.

As a multi-instrumentalist with gear acquisition syndrome, Ive been to many Long & McQuade stores in Ontario. This store is probably my favourite because of the people who work there/manage it. Don, Emily, and Tony have been particularly helpful to me over the years with different things Ive come in for (special order guitars, accessories, repairs, advice on miking drums, etc.) Customer service is always excellent whether I have questions via email or in-person. Financing arrangements, rentals, and trade-ins have always been good experiences for me. Definitely check out this store if youre in the area!

I have been going to Long and McQuade for the past nine years. It is a pleasure always to shop there and the staff are great. They are not only friendly, but also very helpful when you ask for instructions on how a particular thing works. When I purchased a CP300 stage piano keyboard years ago one of the staff even delivered it for me as I dont have a vehicle. I am a senior now and getting forgetful at times. About a year ago I absentmindedly left cash on the countertop in a bank envelope and didnt realize it. I got a call from the store as the young man who served me noticed it just after I left and he had let the rest of staff know who it belonged to and put it in the bottom of the cash register with a note to return to me. Integrity, honesty, and very ethical are other terms I would apply to this store and its staff members. I had not even been aware that I left the cash on the counter. I believe it was more than a hundred dollars in the envelope.I would recommend this store to anyone who believes in integrity, honesty, ethical and good service all around. Their customer service is an excellent role model for any type of store or business as well as in character. God bless their business and all the staff and may they all prosper in all good ways.

Front staff was awesome, repair person sarcastic and made me feel a little stupid, this is my first string instrument and I was just asking questions, he may have been trying to be humorous but it made me feel uncomfortable and stupid. Also had my brother and dad who are more experienced than I look at it and they were able to fix the problem for me. So I was lied to about the condition of my instrument I can only assume to make more money off of my situation.

Have been to a ton of long and mcquades while living in the gta. Now that I’m in Waterloo I only go to the Cambridge location over the Waterloo and Guelph stores. They have the best staff and selection and take care of the instruments in the store. They also have a huge acoustic selection. They never make you feel bothered or pressured but they still let you know they are there to help. A lot of stores I find either hound you the second you walk in or completely ignore you. Bought my last 2 guitars and my newest amp from there and will continue to do all my shopping there for now on.
