I can not praise the customer service here enough! This was our first time and a cashier walked us through the menu and helped pick am amazing flavor combination. They are still requiring masks currently and enforcing that and that was a breathe of fresh air. Inside has cute decor and ample seating. Great prices and better service.I got the upside down Ah-Boong (about $6). You pick your ice cream and filling. They offer toppings like crushed oreos, crushed caption crunch and cocoa pebbles; you can choose between a strawberry or macaroon to do on the side. My taiyaki did not have too much nutella filling inside but the soft serve portions are huge!! Will return for sure.

Delicious ice cream flavors and taiyaki combos. Word of warning the ice cream can melt fast recommend enjoying them as soon as you get them. Nice chill atmosphere to enjoy the cold tasty treat!

After a long week we decided to visit a place that is famous for serving fish & ice cream I repeat Fish & Ice cream not Fish & chips!Somi somi is a Korean ice cream place which is newly opened in Carrollton!They have some very unique flavors like ube, sesame, milk, milk tea, matcha.. and they rotate flavors weekly to give everyone a taste of something new!!We had oreo soft serve with upside down taiyaki - which is a waffle shaped like a fish with the choice of your filling!!Being chocolate lovers, we got nutella filling, but they also have cheddar, custards, red bean paste fillings..Also, you could add a variety of toppings including fruity pebbles, nuts, oreo crumbs, choco pebbles.. and also choose between a strawberry or a macaron..The ice cream was refreshing but the best part was having the taiyaki!! This is one of the best waffles Ive ever had. You know, the ice cream is fantastic, creamy, and soft, but the waffle was chewy, full, and sweet. If youve never had, where else are you planning to go? I will be coming again. So cute and delicious! Worth the price for that waffle fish!!

This is one of our favorite places to get dessert. On a hot day, it’s the perfect excuse to get some milk with matcha swirl ah-boong/soft serve or the cookies & cream with ube swirl ah-boong/soft serve. We also love their freshly made warm taiyaki, but couldn’t decide which flavor to get…so we got one of each (haha)! We got one with a taro filling, matcha filling, red bean/azuki filling, nutella filling, & custard filling. They were all so, so good since everything is made fresh 😋Another plus is that they are introvert friendly! We saw a long line when we came in. However, we spotted an ordering pad, & so we were able to put in the order ourselves & pay for it. They dont take cash which is weird and frustrating. However, the food was delicious. Fast and fresh. You can choose from quite a few flavors and they cook it hot and fresh right in front of you. A great dessert place for the whole family.

It was different, something you need to try out. The upside is really good, if you dont know what each flavor is they can pretty much help you in the right direction to picking the right one for you.

I loved this place. The food? Delicious. The service? Amazing. Very clean, fast, yummy and nice.

I went out for a Treat Yo Self day and I randomly happened to notice a sign advertising just that. How could I not give it a try? It was literally a sign! I was not disappointed in the least. I enjoyed an Oreo Swirl with custard filling and Oreo crumb coating. Yummy. I will be back.

I love waffle cone filled with Nutella. My favorite ones Matcha green tea and Uba.

Some great soft serve with multiple flavors to choose from. They even offer swirled options. The matcha taro swirl was really good. Definitely recommend it. The black sesame is definitely bold and really sesame flavor. If you re looking to try something different go for the black sesame. The taiyaki was fresh soft and crunchy with good fillings. Lots of other toppings sprinkles and powders to choose from to make it look aesthetic and delicious. The strawberry milk was also refreshing and tasty. Service was great, but do expect lines on the weekends. Definitely check this spot out!

Wow, I have seen many ice cream stores open and closed in this area, this place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The ice cream is literally cream, super soft and smooth and addicting! My son, who is expert ice cream eater (7 years old haha) is in love!!! Not only the ice cream was good, the home made waffle is super soft in texture, Custer filling is smooth but not too sweet and the topping is very light. Beautiful work of art. Will definitely come back with my whole family soon.

My roommates and I decided to try this place!! It was super yummy! They unfortunately sold out of the upright taiyaki. I decided to get the mix between Ube and horchata, with custard filling, and coco flakes, and Oreo dust. I was super pleased with my combination! The soft serve ice cream was sooo yummy! It was my first time trying ube so I decided to be bold and try something new. My roommates got the match and Oreo mix, with chocolate filling. The 30 minute trip was worth it.Update: horchata is a little too sweet. The plain ice cream is really good!

I love their ice cream and taiyaki so much! to be honest, their ice cream is average. To me, its too creamy so is not my favorite, but their taiyaki and bread is THE BEST. I just love going this place to have the teriyaki part honestly.

This whole area is amazing. I highly recommend SOMISOMI. There’s usually a little (sometimes long) line when we go but it moves very quickly. You can’t go wrong with any of the flavor matches and our favorite fish filling is custard!

Delicious treats & Great atmosphere! Loved their Taiyaki and we got the upside down horchata & milk ice cream.

The menu is pretty simple and straight forward. The matcha horchata and the fish was delicious. 💙 The fish is not a thick dough. The horchata tastes just like horchata. Price is reasonable and this place was very busy at 10 pm at night.

Sooo good. The fish waffle is delicious. You can fill it and goes perfect with the soft serve. I had the Oreo and Oreo toppings.

This time I only ordered taiyaki because we were about to get lunch. I got the custard and red bean. The waffle was soft and fluffy, yet crisp and not too sweet. They really let the fillings shine. The custard was delicious, sweet, warm, and creamy. I havent tried the red bean yet, but its my favorite Japanese dessert flavor, so Im sure I will enjoy it.I cant wait to have the taiyaki with soft serve.

Im so glad they opened a somi somi in Carrollton! Taiyaki is one of my favorite desserts. They serve it with fillings or with ice cream, and have a couple of different flavors. I definitely recommend trying this place if you have a sweet tooth!

Delicious icecream with cute toppings. I loved the fish waffle filled with custard. I had the Jiggly jellyfish icecream and hubby had the Swanky swordfish ice cream. They both came with an extra bean paste filled waffle on the side. Both flavors were really good.The place inside was really loud though and the attendant couldnt hear me. They need to turn down the music.

Somi Somi -a fish shaped cone, called boong-uh-bbang, which is then filled with a filling and topped with soft serve ice cream. I choose black sesame cause with that you can never go wrong! He took a Pured Strawberry Milk Shake which was good as well.

They have the best ice cream ever. Ube Ice Cream is a must-try together with Taiyaki filled with custard. Their taiyaki is crispy and soft on the inside. If you’re considering which branch you should go, you should go with the Carrollton branch rather than the Frisco branch near 99 Ranch. The taiyaki in Frisco tastes like it’s overcooked and their ice cream melts so easily.As for the ice cream, it is indeed very soft, smooth, and I just found out that they don’t use milk (might not be the case for all flavors) so hooray for lactose intolerant people!

This place is amazing beyond words! both the ice cream and the fish bread (i’m not sure what they’re called) were delicious. the staff there are kind, patient and quick to deliver our ice cream. overall 10/10 i’m definitely coming back!

SomiSomi is my favorite soft-serve in Dallas. Im in love with the flavors they offer, and Im impressed by how consistently good it is!Ive tried all the flavors but all of them are so good that I always pick based on what Im feeling that day. My favorite flavors are: Matcha, Milk Tea, Black Sesame, and Ube. The swirls (two flavors) change weekly, and they usually pick flavors that mesh well.The taiyakis are made to order so they are incredibly fresh. It has a mochi-like texture and you can pick what filling you want inside. I usually get the Custard but Red Bean is good too if youre looking for something a little sweeter.For the price point, SomiSomi is definitely worth the visit. Its so effortlessly cute and eating it always makes me happy.

Delicious dessert spot that has soft serve yogurt in/on a fried taiyaki (fish shaped pastry)! Wife and I have been hooked for a while. We always get the Uber soft serve and orea taiyaki. They usually have cute decor to go with the holiday of the month as well 🙂

Good but expensive. They got the filling wrong so it didnt end well but otherwise taste was good. Their waffle look like Fish so that is different and cool. Not many flavors. Milk, Oreo and matcha were all good. A bit stingy in giving an extra macaron which was strange as it is a very small and it wouldnt have costed much but it could have gotten them an extra star for service.

Im a huge ice cream fan and WOW, this place is amazing!Just in case you dont read the whole review though, putting this advice first: GET THE UPSIDE DOWN/IN A CUP VERSION!!! Texas heat makes the soft serve melt ridiculously fast when the fish is on the bottom like a cone, so youll be kicking yourself as you become drenched in ice cream drips if you dont get it upside down in a cup. You also get more soft serve that way for the same price, so its a win win.Very unique, obviously, but each aspect is so perfect its just a must-try! The fish waffle that serves as a cone or topper is kinda soft, which I love and much prefer to the typical crunchy cone. You also get to choose a filling for inside, and they give a generous amount. SO good.The soft serve.....Oooooh its good! My favorite is the Horchata/Matcha swirl, but weve had just about every flavor and its all been fantastic. The texture of this soft serve is to die for.Toppings are free! You really just cant beat this place, and I hope a lot more open up around DFW.

They had the best black sesame ice cream I’ve ever had in my entire life.I came back recently to find out they got rid of it for “salted caramel”Salted caramel is such a boring, overdone flavor (everyone has it) and I was highly disappointed by the poor decision to have it replace the black sesame.I’d give 5 stars, but subtracting two for salted caramelEdit: visited on Christmas Day and they brought sesame back! Great Christmas present! Added one star back for the move, but the recipe seems a bit different. Will try again next time and update review accordingly

The hot waffle and cold soft serve ice cream is an amazing combination. The restaurant looks like they started to really make it nice, but looks a little unfinished. Go there for the ice cream!!!

Came here for the first time with some friends, placed an order for a cold brew float w/ cookies and cream, left a tip as I usually would, received my order and was a bit puzzled not really knowing what I ordered, I immediately tasted the ice cream that was floating, was very bland, almost as if it was just plain milk not really a trace of vanilla, not sure if the brew is just that strong but I proceeded to mix it together and took a sip, tasted what a normal coffee with milk would, I approached the counter to ask if there was cookies and cream in it, I was assured by an employee that there was and she apologized, I was clearly not satisfied with the item, I tried to deal with it but I just couldn’t, I approached the counter again so they could dispose of it properly for I also run locations similar where we just don’t throw away drinks into a trash bin, they did not accept the item so I just chunked it away in the bin, never again.

Flavors were not as interesting and statement worthy. The fish thing tasted like waffle and I would say that tasted better then ice-cream. I tried Salted Caramel and it barely had taste of Caramel and no salt.

I liked it because they keep it real simple in regards to ordering. It would be nice if they had kid sizes and also looked forward to the black sesame flavor we saw online but when we got here they dont offer it anymore. I wish they put a little more filling in the fish cones, Still it was pretty good!

The taiyaki is crispy and flaky and the custard filling if you get it is awesome. Their soft serve is rich and creamy. They dont have a huge menu but you dont need it cuz what they have is just perfect!

I love somisomi, so I was really upset when I opened mine up and it was raw..I took it in and they remade it, which wouldve been great, but that one was raw too..I didnt even bother going back in, it wasnt worth it at that point.

Yummy! Their taiyaki(bbung-uh-bbang) is sooo yummy. I had it with matcha ice cream and custard filling is must try! The carrollton location has a lot more sitting space than Frisco location. And their taiyaki alone without ice cream is also so delici!

I love the ice cream here. But during busy hour on weekend and evening it pretty crowded and loud it hard to even hear the staff asking what topping I want. But overall clean, spacious and delicious snack.
