The guys took care of me quick and easy which can be rare for many other places these days. Will recommend Dallas Chop Shop to all and will be back next time without a second thought!
Matt has been a super star on my bike for almost 15 years. Really appreciate his attention to detail! ChopperJim
VERY knowledgeable about HD. They have excellent service techs.. On time and affordable service. This is the alternative to $150 p/h HD shops!
I called Matt 230 Friday afternoon and he had all his lifts full and but he still fit me in, saved me on parts and got me outta there in an hour! Good ol boys!
I had a 15000mi service done on my 18 FLHXS along with installing a Harley wideband setup. These guys are professional and do it the right way. Im definitely a customer for life.
I paid Dallas Chop Shop over $4000 for some mechanical and electrical work but it cost me another $3800 to fix everything they screwed up. They had my bike for over 3 weeks and gave it back to me 3 times with issues that should have been repaired during their time with it. Some examples of their work: 1.) they didnt add Transmission fluid when I paid for a 50K Service and my bike broke down in Colorado on a road trip and had to have a new transmission put in which cost $2200 and 3 1/2 days down during my trip 2.) they cut holes in my brand new custom painted stretch saddlebags for wiring for a rear amp that I didnt even need because they lost the instructions for the brand new J&M stereo I gave them to install - and then they refused to replace the bags 3.) they also screwed up the wiring so bad the rear speakers werent working, the CB wasnt working, the Sirius XM Module had to be replaced, my running lights werent working, etc. etc. etc. and it cost me over $1600 to repair the damage they did. Matt Dileh (the owner) insisted that I keep bringing the bike back to him for them to make right but they never did and after 3 tries and 8 more days in the shop I told him I was taking it somewhere else to be fixed and that I would bring him the Invoice - and he refused to return my money!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIKE HERE FOR REPAIRS - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!*** Interesting to note that in Matts reply he never denied any of the mistakes or damage that his shop caused (except the issue with the tranny fluid) because he knows that his shop DID ruin my new saddlebags and my electrical system - since I wrote my original review DCS has been given a D- rating with the BBB and I have been refunded more than $1600 of my original repair cost by VISA after they investigated my claim against DCS - so I guess someone besides me knows the truth about how you do business
The always do amazing work and are always straight forward
Update 7/4/17:Changing from 2 to 1 star. After a week of riding, the header bolts are loose again, which means the work done here is only as good as the exhaust mount I made myself from steele stock, except their mounts look hideous on the bike.Everyone else seems to like this place, but I wont be back. In non-opinionative manner, heres why:TLDR version:Pros - friendly, cheaper than expected, adjusted throttle.Cons - took nearly a week when estimated 2 hours over the phone, oil tank paint scuffed, very unattractive finish quality.Full review:I called a week before bringing it in to get an estimate. I explained that the bike had new exhaust installed just before I got it. It started running rough shortly after. There was no support on the pipes so the header bolts kept backing off. I had made an exhaust clamp which helped a lot but the bolts were still loosening some. He advised custom mounts normally take 2 hours but could be as much as 3 gave me a ballpark $. He said call before I brought it in and ask about the schedule so I didnt waste a trip there if they didnt have time that day.Last Fri I called, reminded him about our last call and asked about their availability. He said great, bring it on in. I dropped in, asked if there was a restaurant nearby I could wait at. Got a friendly but sideways look. He said they wouldnt get to it that day but could start it Sat. We talked plans to pick it up Mon. They had been expecting a second mechanic to be in that day but wasnt, had two bikes on the lift in front of me and it was 1:00 already. S happens, I took an Uber home and was happy to be getting it done.Mon, 3:00, no call from the shop yet. I called. There are still 2 bikes on the lift and it hasnt been looked at yet. Says should be done tomorrow. Still just glad its being taken care of.Tue, repeat of Mon. Wait until about 3, call in, same: two bikes on the lift, will be done before end of week though.Wed morning, get the call around 10:00 once the mechanic was able to look at it. He said the parts are typically chrome, and we talked about the aesthetics: there are no shiny parts on my bike so chrome would not be welcome. I asked about stainless, he said hed see what he can do. I explained how the mount that I built, I took the time to temper it in the oven at 480° to color match the exhaust wrap and shot it with a matte finish clear coat: I didnt want it to look cheap. I told him it was ok to cut the header wrap. Got the call about 4:30pm that it was ready to be picked up. I wouldnt be in to get it until Thur morning, but the price came out to about half what was quoted and I was happy.Today I picked it up. He had adjusted the throttle for me as we talked about it being sloppy. With it parked close to the building, I didnt really get a look at it before I left. The mounts look cheap. I would have paid and waited more for better looks. He did blast the chrome so theyre not so shiny. I appreciate that but, you cant polish (unpolish) a turd. The hardware was a mix of the bolts from the mount that I built, and what looks like a grab bag of spare parts. I had taken the time to hide the hardware with thoughtful placement, there was no such courtesy here. The large, ugly bolts draw the eye to them, esp against the clean factory finish work.Im going to make them myself from stainless. Ill use the clamps that they did as a model, and am confident theyll work just as well and not diminish the appeal of the bike. I have limited tools. The finish quality on what I make is leagues above what I got.Theres a new scuff on the oil tank too. Pics: 1-3: bracket I made. Looks clean, huh? 4-5: brackets I got back. Dont mind the frayed wrap, I told him he could cut it. Looks like stuff from home Depot. 6: new blemish on oil tank.Im sure my experience was not typical of their normal operations. But it is as it is. Ill not be back.
I have all good words to say about them.I needed a washer for installing on my wheel. I could not get the correct size washer online. I called Dallas Chop Shop. Matt, spoke to me and asked me to come to shop and will help me.Matt, searched for washer for me and also customized it by filling it to properly fit on my axle rod. All this done in 6 minutes and when I asked how much to pay, Matt mentioned that I dont have to pay for it. He could have easily charged me for the fine work he did on his machine. But refused to charge me.I left Dallas Chop Shop for prayers for Matt. Thanks, Matt for all your help.
Best deals in town its very professional and reasonable
Brought in my 08 Fatboy to replace my damaged handlebars. They immediately found a replacement in the catalog, also discovered that the handlebar risers were incorrect for the existing handlebar. He ordered the correct Riser and cover plate. As soon as the parts come in, the bike will be ready in half a day. This shop knows their business oh, I recommend them highly.
Unreal how good and honest these guys are. I took my bike in preparing myself for a hefty bill and they told me my bike didnt need to be rejetted, changed my oil, and my bike was there for 5 weeks because I was away for work and came back 2 weeks longer than expected and didnt charge me a storage fee. I will bring my bike back to them for everything going forward.
For years i am looking for a machanic place other than those HD showrooms, and i am glad i found Dallas Chop Shop... Matt fixed my passing lamps, LED and sissy bar.. in couple of hours.. They changed the rear tire on my 2017 Street Glide, I think he could have done it blindfolded. Excellent professional bike shop. Matt even gave me a veterans discount, and I didnt have to ask for it. So THANK YALL for the outstanding service. Highly recommend to any riders.
