The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer’s mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. We checked the menu and price before we got there and made our orders through phone. The place was a delight to the eyes with so many Indian savories and sweets stacked. The shop is run by a sweet elderly couple and they seemed very courteous. The reason I rate this place a star less is because the samosas’ price was little higher than what was given online and when enquired, were told that there is mismatch between what we saw online and they will work on fixing it.Nevertheless, we ordered 4 samosas, a bakora chaat and a pheni. The taste was so good and we will definitely be getting there often in future, to try the other items.
We are order a sweet for gurudwara langar 4 days before the date of langar but on the date they never send that sweet which one we ordered when we asked they said we don’t have that sweet now which one you order they send different sweet which one available in the shop. So don’t send any one to this sweet shop I give zero star
Amazing Shahi Paneer! Will definitely try other stuff for sure!
Very happy with the quality of sweets. Great people and wonderful service. Must try
Great food ...great service ....cholle bhaturee and totally handmade paranthas....paranthas are just amazing! not tandoor made or anything that doesnt look like parantha,,, food quality great too ...
Very tasty Punjabi snacks and sweets.
This was truly a massive disappointment. The samosa had no structural integrity as the potato filling quickly fell out all over my plate. The dal makhni was lacking in depth and flavor and I felt that the water I was sipping had more flavor. It was an experience that left me in shambles and I strongly urge others to not visit this place.
The chole bhature from this place has my heart. The best chole bhature in entire NJ!
I could not give zero, so had to give one. They sell tasteless food and the sardharni Aunty who takes the order makes us wait long to give us old, stale, tasteless food. Please avoid coming to this place if you can. Definitely not worth the money. Don’t buy sweets or pastries from this place as they give very old stuff.
I wish if I can give negative stars....We were in town from Houston and went there thinking an authentic Punjabi food going by the ratings...to our dismay it was the most horrible food we had in very long time...The Dhal Makhni was tasteless and without any flavor....Dont want to mention the Veggie Pulao....Bland, without salt, perhaps 5 days old...The Nans were like cotton mattress....and last but not the least, Samosa was nothing but, bland aloo subji....God, I paid a lot of money for this horrendous experience....
Ordered from here a few times. Food used to be good and fresh, but lately noticed that they have started adding soda to the food, which only means that they are serving stale food and adding soda just to neutralize the acid in the food. Too bad!! Won’t order again
Prices are too high and the quantity is always less. Chutneys are either not given or aren’t enough compared to how many samosas are ordered. When called and informed about, customers opinion is not considered and accommodated. Very disappointing
Sweets at best price
Absolutely amazing serviceTravelled from PA for the taste and quality
Authentic North Indian flavored pastries . Absolutely delicious Punjabi sweets and snacks. My second kitchen.
My fav, i go there all the time
I visited this place with my friends. We had paratha and chole bhature. It was just splendid and delicious.
The food is pretty good, especially their samosa chaat
Didnt get the sweets! We ordered 2 lunch deals, on their website they say it includes 2 rotis, daal, subzi, rice, salad and sweetswe got 1.5 rotis, no salad and no sweet, told the lady that was billing us that the offer on their website contained sweets too and she didnt understand, or pretended she didnt. If it wasnt for that would have given 5 stars, food was great and bread was hot and fresh
Very rude and bad costumer service. Do not prepare food on time when ordered previously on phone.
Best and the most fresh sweets. Really good taste, reminds the taste of back home
No good food experience sales no respect customer
Best food, very welcoming staff members, always awesome vibes. They charge convenient pricing and the food quality is very good. Highly recommended.
I’ve driven to this place multiple times from Jersey City for the amazing Punjabi vegetarian food that it offers. The setup is simple & everything looks hygienic and food feels so close to home.
This place is hidden gem..May look small but the food taste is non compete...Its delicious to the core.. must try
Good should open little early.
Walked in about an hour before closing, place was empty. I mentioned it was my first time here and to this style of cuisine. She was sweeping and about 3 minutes or so approached the counter. I asked for a decision of choice for my meal. She offered no help at all and mumbled some words while pointing to the menu. Then she walked off and kept sweeping the floor. Pretty much, ignored me and my friend as we were trying to make an order. Even upon exiting I stated we were leaving and gave thanks, she kept on sweeping.I do not know if she was having a bad day/night or what. The food inside did appear to look some what tasty.
Finest spot to get food when in a rush. The customer service is efficient, pricing is reasonable, excellent character. Will come visit again
Khalsa sweet is the best Indian cuisine and sweet shop in Carteret. They use quality products for preparations in clean kitchen. I like their food and sweets because of quality and cleanliness.
Fantastic choley bhature and gobi parantha. Burfi was super fresh and not overly sweet = perfect. Solid masala chai too. Reminded me of eating in India. Wish I lived closer to it but worth the drive!
They are good with food love it
Amazing food. Tastes very fresh and the prices are incredibly cheap compared to edison places. I was a little skeptic to come here before because of a couple bad reviews but it seems like those people didnt understand the concept of tax. Overall very comfy place with great food for great prices.
I had their Samosa and Aalo Parantha. Both were fresh and closest to home cooking. I highly recommend this place.
Good food. Warm owner. Well priced.
The food stuffs are very good, homely taste, good service at restuarant
Amazing! Great food at such a low price. It has a nice homey feeling and the food tasted home made and just wonderful. I will definitely come back if Im in the area again
Good food and sweet love it! Keep up the good work
Only the best Indian food. I struggle to understand why this place is no always buzzing. Its like eating food and sweets out of a local store in India! Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious, fresh and authentic Indian food. Loved every bit of it. Best garlic naan ever. And the vegetable bhiriyani was amazing. 🥰
Have been coming to this place for close to fine years now. Very tasty food. Prepared fresh well priced .
Good punjabi sweets
I would not recommend this place for several reasons I bought 10 Samosas when I ask for chutney he said you have to pay extra and the quantity is so less on Chole bhutery or any food you may eat in there .Be careful when you pay by CREDIT CARD you may get SURPRISED.
Indian veg food is good. Mustard leaf saag was really good. Casual food joint. Try the jelebis also.
My husband found this place and its great! The food is delicious and the price is just right. Get the lunch special for a sampling of a real home made Punjabi food. :)
Small restaurant where you can buy fresh sweets, paneer and even Khoya. Food is home style with my favorite being Sarson ka saag. Don’t forget to try their Chhole Bhature.
Not good sweet house not making fresh sweets
It’s great family run place that sticks to traditional favorites and gets them spot on. Very few places gives you this instant sensation upon entering that this is going to be your favorite for a long while. Every dish is carefully crafted to a simple perfection that the most age old establishment back home can boast of. The range of sweets is amazing and includes mostly all North Indian delicacies. Even though I haven’t technically lived in the northern part of the country, but my brief stay in Delhi for a couple of months, my Punjabi roommate’s mom’s cooking, and all the instances of my vacations spent on road side dhabas of the north was brought back with each spoonful. Being a Bengali foodie is tough but my love for the rustic yet fabulous favorites of our diverse country will always make me celebrate them, no matter what differences might govern other people. This is an absolute must try 😊Thank you for the wonderful experiences!P.S. This bhature felt like an oil free version of a crispy yet soft whiff of cloud on a plate of golden sunset!
Went there for the Samozas, They were great.
Excellent and yummy food, I like the ambience the place has, and the cashiers were super nice. I will surely come back again.
Ordered 100 somosas a wake on Friday and prior to that 100 somosas for my baby shower. Both times people couldnt stop talking about how amazing they tasted! My family gets from this place all the time! The staff is very nice. The young woman helped me pack everything into my car. I would recommend and I will probably order again for my sons first birthday! Thanks Khalsa!
Every Punjabi Sweets are Available very Good Price Enjoy
Chole bature are so yummy. Authentic North Indian food.
Do Not buy their pastries because they charge like $4 a piece, And the quality is like some one is learning to make pastry and it was their 2nd or 3rd try. To me it was a complete rip off. If Khalsa sweets you are good with Indian sweets stick to it and Dont try to get into Western Confectionary and charge high end rate.
Awesome tasting food! Samosas. Garlic naan. Navratan Korma. Vegetable Bhiryani. Mango Lassi. Masala Tea.
Nice place to go and have a quick lunch or dinner very nice people
The location itself was small and homely, while the food was sincerely delicious. Very friendly, and accommodating to our needs!
Not good and not health food
Little place in a strip mall. Chana bathura we tried tasted good. Very soft.
Bhaji Surinder Singh is very honest person. His preparations are very tasty and delicious. I will highly recommend him for catering also.
Their food will give u complete taste of india. Tried Tea, smosas, papri chaat, sweets and shahi panner naan one of the best restaraunts till now i have tried during my trips in north USA. Front desk lady is also very nice. Thanks for serving us.Quality and preparation of food was Better than those jersey city and edison restaurants.5⭐️
GREAT PEOPLE AND GREAT FOOD TOO.
This place has a devine vibe. I feel at peace when I am here.
Amazing, authentic punjabi taste. The food was excellent and the sweets equally so.
Awesome taste... Genuine Punjabi (North Indian) food. Tastes like homemade food
Very 😋 😋 yummy
Fresh and warm Gobi Paratha with raitha is at good! The one only vegetarian Punjabi restaurant that has authentic Punjabi samosa!
It is a nice little vegaterian indiam sweet house. The laddos and the tikkis are my most favorite. Everything they have tastes good. They mostly have sweets and few appetizers.
Great food and sweets. Need more stock all the time.
Loved their sweets and paneer chole batura.
