Every time you try to purchase something here is a struggle and you’re being told you aren’t specific, or you’re in the way, or whatever other comment you can think of that makes feel extremely uncomfortable for trying to buy lumber from these guys- the attitude is that the customer is receiving a favor for buying from this place.

Rude, arrogant, and unhelpful. Gave them a second chance and they haven’t changed. Would be almost acceptable if their prices were fair but they’re not. Take your business to Larsen Lumber in San Leandro. Honestly don’t know how this place is still in business.

Wow. I called and spoke with John. I gave him a list of 11 pieces of lumber I needed in co-common redwood, and asked for a price. He asked what it was for. I said I have a dog with hip problems and Im building steps for her to get into the bed. He then tried to upsell me me on his kiln-dried wood, and then his premium redwood. Stating we do not carry con common redwood. I asked for a price on the list I gave him or the nearest grade lumber he has for what I requested. He then said I dont think we will be able to help you. Ive owned my house in Castro Valley for over 12 years and have never experienced someone so intent on NOT selling their product.

Great guys really good quality products and wood. Really easy to work with. Also provide great referrals. You get a lot for your money here.

Really good supplier. They are friendly and provide come Tito ever prices. They also will get you what ever you need.

My top place to shop for wood, their knowledge and experience is price less. The wood they sell is straighter than the chain stores. Five stars.

I came knowing some of what I needed for a project and advice. The person I worked with and I went over what I knew I needed and then he took me to a different part of the building to talk about what else I needed. I told him what I wanted to do and he gave me options that were lower and higher in price so I could make my own decision (he didnt hard sell the expensive stuff). He also helped me load up my car.Its not a cheap as the big box store but not outrageous. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and I like supporting local business when I can. They have an excellent selection of normal things as well as an amazing selection of speciality woods.This place now has my business for all future wood needs.
