Very upset with them! We gave them our boat in the beginning of April to look at it. We bought a boat being told it need a new engine and for safety of the little ones, we wanted to get fixed. We asked for an estimate first. Time went on and on with excuses. I would stop in and then said they took it out and ordered parts. I reminded them we didn’t have an estimate and we thought it needed a new engine. My son-in-law would call and they would tell him the night mechanic was working on it and would call him back which never happened. As boating season started and it was now the end of July, they said they took it out twice, more than we ever had. My son-in-law finally went and got it. In more than three months, they tuned it up, never fixed it, never gave an estimate and charged him $979 to get the boat back. Is that. Even legal? Guess what? They took it out twice. We took it out and it didn’t run at all. We were stuck at the loading dock. We took it to Pinecrest. They changed the starter and it started right up. We were only able to use the boat three times before the end of the season. It still needs work, but it does run. Thanks to North Shore we lost the boating season, money, time and excitement of owning a boat. Do not go there to fix a boat b

I did not want to even right a review for these folks. Only reason why Im leaving 1 star is for the nice and professional ladie who did all she could to put us on a boat Elizabeth thank you very much so sad she has to work here. Other than that the boat was really rough and torn apart from the inside and out. Owner of the place is one bad man and so is is his wife. Stay away from this place as far as you can; oh and you wont get your deposit back here so dont even think of stopping at this place and if you do dont say no one warned you.

Dont bother even going here. Called in earlier in the week that said no issue renting the day of on the spot as they dont have any issues with over booking. I take a 1/2 off of work and drive 45 min to go with family for a 2 hour cruise around Lake. They are not renting boats because there is a chance of rain at 9pm. They close at 5pm and boats have to be back by then. No one was there that could rent a boat out even though they rent out boats and only 1 person can do that. No idea boat quality or anything but I would rather go anywhere then here after that

Great place and great people. They helped me with launching my boat, and were amazing! It was my first time launching and they made it so easy and stress free! Nice launch ramp and plenty of parking. Will definitely use them again and again. If I could give them 10 stars I would! Plus they have ducks everywhere that are adorable! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The people and service there is are excellent and good pricing. The only reason it did not receive a 5 star is because the boat itself was dirty with bird poop on the seats, floors looked like they needed some cleaning, motor had some difficulty starting and there was a hole in the floor of the pontoon. If the boats and shop had a little more TLC this place would do phenomenal!

I have rented boats many, many times and never before have I rented a boat in this poor of a condition. The seats and cushions were ripped. The carpeting was ripped. There was mold on the carpet. The radio did not work. Oh and the lights on the boat did not work. Found that out when the police pulled us over at dusk. The Owner told us that he did not care renting the boat in this condition because there would be someone who would. Owner also lied about the size of motor. Motor on boat was 115 HP. He told me on the phone it was 150 HP.

I was having problems with my boat and the owner Don was very understanding and let me put my boat at a empty slip to get my family off and I told what my boat was doing he told to leave it and he would fix it this was on a Sunday afternoon so I did and he called the next day around 8pm and said it was fixed and that I could pick it up anytime the next day, he was very fare on the repair price and also very quick and understanding, Joe his mechanic great guy he walked me through what he found and fixed . You have my future business for being honest and standing by your word.

Boats are older and ridden probably 7 days a week. Imagine someone riding your mom that hard. Its a little beat up but still a great time! It also helps everyone there is amazing!!

The boat we rented certainly had seen better days. The seats were ripped and pretty beat up, the carpet dirty and gross to walk on and not the friendliest people at the dock. Live and learn but in this case never again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We rented a pontoon boat and it was a dirty beat up boat. It left us stranded 30 minutes after we were out. Guys looked like they just got out of lake county prison. Bees nest in the boat seat and we were getting swarmed with bees. The only thing good is that they gave us a full refund.

Buyer Beware! We reserved a pontoon for a nice afternoon out on the lake and we were extremely disappointed in the condition of the Pontoon. It was very dirty and extremely worn out. Some examples of what we encountered: old food wrappers in the cup holders, seats that were sun damaged and ripped in multiple places, canopy that was ripped and had holes in it, no working radio, panel missing on one of the doors, moss growing on the carpeting and there was even a weed growing in the corner under one of the seats! The worse part is they do not care if you bring any of this up to them, which we did. I just want people to know what they are getting into before making a reservation at this place. I wish I did!

A bad experience. nice people but pontoon was dirty, broken sundeck, no ladder to get into the water. in our excitement to get on the lake we didnt take an inventory. i would suggest you do if you rent from here. our friend kneeled & fell through the broken sundeck and got scratched up pretty badly, which we showed them. we also asked if we could bring the boat back & get a ladder & they said they didnt have one & forgot tell us. They offered us $50 off next time we rent which we wont. very disappointing 3 hour tour.

Best experience renting watercraft thus far. Girlfriend and I rented 2 skis for an hour, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Don was hilarious, ask him about his pet fish! Larry was equally as funny and gave us a quick rundown of the lake. Great day trip for anyone in the south Chicagoland area.

The owners are sweet people but the facilities and boats are shabby and unkept. Finding the facility is not easy as their signage was not specific. Upon receiving our boat, the seats were torn, the boat was filthy, and our day was ruined. I immediately requested another boat but they had none that were in good, working condition. I sought a refund and was promptly granted same. So disappointing.

Will NEVER use North Point Marina again for pontoon rental! 1st boating experience at Cedar Lake and last! Unwelcoming staff at a run-down/filthy facility! They charge double $$$ than what other marinas charge for rentals and what we were rented for all that $$$ was an old, filthy, embarrassing pontoon whose seats were covered mostly in duct tape, missing all cup holders, none of its gages worked, no safety flags...etc! There is a small wooden shack sitting on a gravel parking lot with nothing else, but a couple wooden docks leading into the water! No bathroom or locker room facilities, nothing for sale, no store, no bait, nothing! Its very UNFORTUNATE there is no other marina to utilize on this warm watered lake!
