Ive always loved Gander Mtn! They have a excellent selection of hunting, fishing and camping gear and apparel! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! Today I was just killing time and looking around and had a couple of employees ask if I needed any help or had any questions on any gear or about the moving sale they have going in right now. Great service, products and selection! Gander Mtn is a must for the outdoorsman or woman in your family!!

I want to show some appreciation to Cabery and Haley (I think that is how her name is spelled). Every time I visit the store they are always so welcoming and helpful. On this last occasion, Cabery gladly went out of her way to help me find the right bike even though I was being that guy and walked in 4 minutes till closing!!! Thanks Cabery and crew!!!

My step-daughter and (soon to be) son-in-law brought us in to Gander this past weekend while we were visiting them from out of town. They are local and are loyal customers of Gander Outdoors. The sales racks did not disappoint. We ended up buying 6 items (on a whim). Sales rep Kaitlyn was a gem to work with....keep up the good work :-) We will be back!

My experience at Gander Outdoors is fantastic every time I walk in. The employees are very nice and helpful. The assistant manager Morgan helped me figure out something I needed and I ended up getting a good deal out of it. Keep up the good work!

If there were any deals during their 40% off sale, theyre gone now (as of 9/17/19). At best I saw some average prices. Dont waste your gas or even the energy required to walk across the parking lot.

Their prices are similar to other stores in there niche. They, however, get extra points for the friendliness of the staff. Knowledgeable and ready to help. Good spot.

Clean store. Lots of employees to help. Good selection of name brand and off brand. Like the old Gander, the prices can be high. They do offer a loyalty program so this may be the best way to keep your costs low.

These people take great care of you!! Brad L. back in the guns department treated us very well and was very knowledgeable!! Managers checked out our paper work for buying guns with a fine tooth comb and keep the process rolling very well so there wasnt any mistakes. Ill be a returning customer

The pricing on the shelves for camping stuff is so confusing. I dont have a good Sam discount card so I never know how much something is. Especially on sale. Do I need a good Sam card to get the special price? I still dont know.

Decent selection, better than the old store. Prices are still awfully high. I would have rated this store a 4, but I was BERATED by the cashier (Chasity) about their good sam card. I think I said no more than ten times. Quit being pushy. Nothing turns me off from a store more than that.

Same old gander mt. Bring in a fire arm to trade. They offer you less than a quarter of what it is worth tell you some b.s. but they will sell you the same gun new at six times the price. This place is a joke.

A good place. Love the place but only downfall is the 2 times i went in there i feel like i was getting pushed way to hard into buying some 30$ member card the casheer goes way over by pushing u into getting it . The last time was overwhelming

Definitely a change since Gander Mountain switched to Gander Outdoors. Still have great products, lay out of the store is different. Overall a nice place for hunting, fishing, and camping supply needs.

Its a great store to go to but from recent information. They are not going to have fishing gear or anything fishing related in store here soon. They cant even get you a hunting or fishing license until they get a machine from the dnr which is after the next contract. Gander outdoors has gone way down on what made them popular to people before and there sales reflect that because the true fishermen will go in there for bait and get there gear elsewhere except for last minute trips. They focus on more of hunting and biking than any other sport. I hope that gander outdoors Corporation reads this because Im a disappointed fisherman that use to go in there for every fishing thing I needed but now I rarely step in to the store because the selection is not what Im looking for anymore.

Got a half dozen arrows and a fishing outfit for my sons 48 birthday. I liked gander mountain gander outdoors has a lot of the same stuff and more.

Ok selection when I really need something. The worst part is, standing in line 3-4 deep and listening to the high pressure sales pitch for the club membership. Even with the discount, the prices really are not that good. The two times I’ve been there if I really didn’t need the items I would have dropped them and left. Then When I get to the cashier how many times do I have to say NO?! As far as help goes, when I can find someone willing to help they have had no clue about boat care products or fishing gear. Don’t plan on shopping there again unless I’m in Cedar Rapids and can’t wait for something in the mail or can’t make it to scheels. This place is nothing but a sales pitch for the club membership. Obviously, the cashiers are paid by the membership they sign up. How about backing off the Sales pitch, especially while other people are waiting in line?

Customer service is extremely lacking here at this store. Every time Im in this branch the employees care more about talking to one another about plans after work then helping. Also they have a assistant manager maybe just shift leader named Courtney. she is the worse of them all, the 4 times Ive seen her in the store she is running around degrading and talking down to her co workers as if she is superior to them, definitely does not seem like a team player. Courtney at this branch definitely needs some work on her customer service skills with shoppers. Once I finally got a Gander employee to help me, he had a question for his supervisor Courtney. Courtney came over and was looking at a gun we were talking about. The gander employee went to look down the barrel and Courtney steps in front to block him and looks down it herself, as if the employee helping me was not capable. You should have seen the look on the kids face but of course he cant say much with this being his supervisor treating him this way. Courtney then got very rude with me when I asked her a few questions. I was trying to trade in a gun that she sold me and it was only 30 days old. I understand there is a zero return policy on guns at this store and most. But other stores are good about working with you if you are going to be buying another gun from them (once again here is where Gander customer service sucks). Courtney offered me $150 on a $450 gun I just purchased keep in mind 30 days ago and only shot maybe 30 rounds through. Gun was spotless when bringing it back to the store for possible trade. Courtney continued to tell me there was nothing else she can do for me except give me the bullshit price on a brand new gun.Bottom line Gander Mountain and its employees did nothing to help, what has been a life long loyal customer for more then 15 years is now gone.Regardless Ill be making the trip to Scheels just south in Iowa city than returning to this hot mess of a store which I used to be a big fan of.It appears corporate comments on the reviews people give but good, bad or ugly they just say we will pass this along to the store leader which doesnt result in any changes on a local level. Its unfortunate they do not have a better system in place to work through kinks on the local level.

Terrible service, sold me 2 broken poles, they were velvety pushy about signing up for good Sam club which was really annoying. Then they were going to replace the fishing poles I bought but not the line that was on the poles that I spent 15$ on each. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I was a repeat customer and i just had a really poor experience. On 5/24/19: I was accosted by several employees simply for open carrying my revolver in a holster. I was told that i need to check my firearm in and was given the 3rd degree like i’m some type of criminal. I just turned around and walked out.I then called the store at about 16:00 and complained to the manager. He didn’t see the problem with his employees harassing a customer. The excuses he gave were that some gun owners are irresponsible and that there is also theft at the store, both of which are really poor excuses. I never would have expected a gun store to disarm customers, its completely insulting.Be aware that this store does NOT support the 2nd amendment. I will be taking my business elsewhere and urge everyone else to do the same.

They say they price match online prices but they dont. They only price match online prices of local competitors. Their prices are higher than average so it would be nice if they online price matched online prices.

Both times as e have been there the prices have been different than what were charged. Bought a product today that tag said 8.97 and was charged 15. Be aware of the pricing. Also doesnt have huge variety of stuff.

As an avid outdoorsman, I am (what some might describe as) a tough customer. I must say the cordial and professional employees at Gander Mountain rise to the occasion every time. I must drop the names of Tim, Chad, and Cortney who have all catered to my every need on my numerous visits to the store.I want to single out for special praise: Michael. He has a mind like a steel trap. He remembers my annoyingly specific wants and needs. He readily answers questions and offers suggestions umprompted. Hes an exemplary employee.I cannot say enough about the Grade A staff at this location.

Great selection of guns and fishing/camping supplies. This is a specialty store so prices are generally higher. Usually good quality. Usually a wait in the gun department.

These guys are a part of the Camping World Umbrella, in which their CEO came out on the record as anti-second amendment. Just like Dicks sporting goods, I refuse to spend one dime in this place, and I look forward to it going out of business and being replaced by something else. Little word of advice to management and this goes right to the top- dont bite the hand that feeds you!

This Gender Mountain is perhaps one of, if not the poorest operated, poorest led/supervised sporting goods/outdoor/outfitters store you could imagine. Virtually EVERYTHING I need for my guns, hunting & target shooting, has to be ordered, and, will take a week to ten days to get in, which in reality frequently ends up being 2-4 weeks.-

If i could give a negative number i would. Parking lot was empty! Walked in by at least 6 employees and no one said a word! We looked all over for the item we needed and i finally went up and ask for help. The guy behind the counter just pointed a direction and wouldnt biother showing me. This girl looked at ne and got on her radio and called for someone to help. I thanked her and she mumbled yep and walked away! Worst customer service ever! Will never go back! We were the only customers in there! Walked out not purchading anything. Girl at the front desk thanked us for coming in and i said finaly a friendly person ! She laughed!!!!

Would not honor a coupon straight off their website. Cedar rapids iowa location. Clerk who was very polite Keanu. called tiffany to help and she was extremely rude. This business will fail just like gander mountain.

Was so excited for them to finally open! Took in a couple reels to have them reline, took all the line off 1 reel then told me they didnt have the line to reline it? Glad they didnt pull the line off 2nd reel, they apologized store manager went to get a business card with his name on it so next time I come back I can get a discount, his business card was a post it. Ill never return.

G.M. add 5-4-14 front cover 9mm 14.99$ a box. Drove 20 mins across town to be there when they opened! I was the first customer in the store. NO 9MM !! Plenty of high velocity at 28$ and 44$. If they are going to run an add, HAVE SOMETHING IN STOCK ! I have been a G.M. customer since they opened this store! Will not make a special trip across town to shop there again!

Great outfitters store that has almost everything an outdoor person would want.

This place is slowly going down hill. The staff turnover is horrible, every time I step foot into this place they have added more and more clothing. Is this an outdoor store? Or is this an outdoor clothing store. The fishing section is alright, not as much selection as say even Wal-Mart. The hunting section especially the gun counter is your run of the mill knowledge associates and the prices are almost twice what you can find at local FFLs.

Absolutely terrible, bought a bow from them. Took it in to get a peep sight added and the draw weight adjusted. Supposedly that take a month to get done. On my way to Scheels where they said it would only take 10 minutes.. I refuse to buy any firearm or bow there ever again, there gun prices are bs compared to the deals you can get online, just buy online and have it shipped to palo outdoors. Youll save 40 bucks by supporting a local company.
