The museum is located in a historic home in downtown Cedarburg. I used on-street parking immediately in front of the museum. Im not sure if parking is available in the large yard. Many steps up to the entrance. I was greeted warmly. Although there isnt an entry fee, there is a box for donations.I went specifically to see the John Colt collection, as he was my professor at UWM for Art History which left a lasting impression. I enjoy his pen and watercolor pieces - delicate, colorful, intricate figures, informative, with a touch of whimsical. The collection of the Madison born artist also included several pastels and brought back fond memories of student life and the Fine Arts Complex. It took me about an hour to walk through the museum. At the end, I spent time in the gift shop. In addition to local artists original paintings and drawings, theres lots of unique jewelry pieces, and handmade items which make thoughtful, individualized gifts!
What a great art museum! Really beautiful historic old mansion that wows you the moment you come in. It is free admission and features a lot of great Wisconsin art work. The staff and volunteer staff are always extremely friendly and welcoming. This is a place that youll want to keep coming back to because of their many exhibitions, Thursday night beer gardens, Saturdays thirst for art, and much more. There is really a lot going on here. I definitely recommend checking it out!
Loved it. Wanted to stay longer. Would love to go again.
Great museum with several local artists works.
Nice beer garden. Clean and well run.
Small museum in the historic downtown Cedarburg area with frequently rotating exhibits, both indoors and outdoor by mostly local and regional artists. Frequented by tourists and locals alike. Entrance is free, however with some restrictions because of Covid-19 limitations. Nice quaint place to visit.
Very nice, local art museum, exhibits and shop too. Must see when in the Burg...
Loved the local artists work displays
Terrible. It doesnt even have the Mona Lisa!
This small museum in the middle of historic downtown Cedarburg hosts a frequently changing display of exhibits by local artists. Paintings, photos, sculptures, and other artwork are showcased on its two floors. There is no admission charge, although a $5 donation is requested. Its well worth it.
Very friendly
A bit of a small, historic town-jewel. Easy to view rotating art....a converted 1880s two-story house...an hour covers it nicely!
Inspiring art :)
Lovely small art museum. Gorgeous curated and full of local artists. Also the building is amazing.
Wonderful exhibit of local artists in a gorgeous historic building. Docents and staff very knowledgeable and friendly.
Great walk through Victorian era history
Very inviting beer garden during festivals. Nice way to get away from the crowds and listen to music.
Awesome array of artwork in gift shop here as well as original exhibitions, some of living Wisconsin artists, others historical. Check it out!
Small but well curated art museum. I have some felted scarflettes in the gift shop. Come on Thursdays, durinh the day, then. stay or come back for the beer garden, 5:30-8:30. Usually food, entertainment, and 2 artists showing their wares outside.
Relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to see a number of friends
