Excellent diner food. Retro decor and atmosphere. Great matzo ball soup. Would highly recommend.

Nice food with a lot of love. Classic American dinner with fresh food and hot meals. Dining for breakfast, lunch or dinner is perfect here, although I usually go for the breakfast, even at night! The price can be iffy at times but the quality for the most part is top notch! Would definitely come again! Staff are very nice too.

This is our go to quick meal with the kiddos or after school function go to with friends. I miss the old days when there were different owners as this was my hang out when I was in high school with friends after we went out, but its a good local spot. Cant go wrong with breakfast or disco fries and they do have some good dinner specials.

Food was not cooked very well. Although service was good, food could have been better. Bacon was not crispy and hash browns were soggy.

Pancakes deluxe were delicious and french toast deluxe was delicious loved every bit for breakfast. Only thing didnt have music, heard alot of conversations but other than that good food.

This is an excellent diner. I’ve been going there for over 20 years. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is always excellent. Fast service with very little wait time including the weekends. Well worth the trip.

I love going to this place on my lunch break. There service is good. The staff is friendly. They’re lunch specials are really good. For about 13 bucks including tip you can get bowl of soup, tea or coffee, a good omelette, and a dessert. Quality eats.

There is no taste to any of the food- no seasonings, no flavor at all. You could get better roast beef from any deli counter. Do yourself a favor and head a little further to Lake Grove Diner.

I have been going to this diner for 16 years! Very friendly environment the food is great and the owners are alway will to donate to whatever charity I am fundraising for. I have always greeted with a smile and hello! Love this place, very homey!

Chicken souvlaki platter was delicious. The chicken was moist and tender. Our server was delightful.... Told some very colorful stories.... Truly enjoyed her making us laugh.

I like the late hours and my waitress was friendly, kind, and pleasant. However, a waitress who was on break sitting next to me at the counter, overheard my conversation about having had oral surgery earlier and repeatedly attempted to buy my painkillers (which I never even filled at the pharmacy). She wouldnt let it go - Refusing to take no for an answer. Finally, I reported her to her coworker. What balls, right?

I wish I could rate them higher. I only can offer a 3 star rating purely off of nostalgia and variety. Unfortunately, I returned here on a vacation back to my hometown for the first time in awhile and my rose-tinted glasses for this place isnt enough to remind me of the love. The staff is friendly and courteous, so there is that going for them. The prices have gotten a bit on the higher side and the quality of the food is waning from good graces. As you would imagine, that isnt a pretty combination. I did remember enjoying a breakfast platter the second time I went here in my 1 week stay in the area. The breakfast was worth it. The gyro and fries from my first visit back in a few years? I was disappointed.

I have been to this diner for lunch since the 90s. Now my husband and I are breakfast freaks. Service here is pretty good, coffee refill often. Eggs over easy not messed up but the home fries are not consistent, super bland to salty to over seasoned leaving an aftertaste. Small concern for many customers, deal breaker for us. It is off our rotation for a while

We have always enjoyed eating here, but for the past year or so the portions of food continues to get smaller and and smaller. The most recent visit my two eggs looked they were medium at best. The sauage was definitely smaller and the home fries have changed to a n almost grated with now fresh onion. With all the newer places opening they really need to get back to basics.Update. We went here a few days ago and the potatoes, home fries were cold and the portions again are smaller. The eggs had to have been small or medium size at best. Its hard to fool somebody when you order easy over eggs and they are less than three and a half inchs wide when bought to the table. Waitress was in a bad mood, no asking her for a second coffee. Lastly why do they continue to use those plastic small size milk and creamer containers? What a waste of garbage going into the dump.

The service of our waitress Louis was absolutely flawless. She was sweet as pie,and had a great understanding of customer service. She embodies the idea of a loving momma bear, and treated my 4 year old like family from the moment she saw him. We live in SC now but will return to this diner every time we visit our hometown. A+

We had a surprise birthday party for my sister-in-law there. Approx. 20 people. The service was good. There were plenty of appetizers at the table, & everyones food came out at the same time.The staff was friendly and competent.

Last time I visited this was the Centereach Diner. We had a late breakfast. Not busy. Excellent service at the front desk and from our server. What we ordered was OKAY but not great. Spanish omelet fair vegetable omelet good.. Price was average diner.

The waitresses are great but everyone else is HORRIBLE. THE MANAGER TOLD MY SON WHO IS 10 HE COULDNT ORDER KIDS CHICKEN FINGERS. Not knowing that my son has underlying conditions ! And who are you to say someone isn’t able to order from the kids menu. I’m still paying for the actual meal, YOURE just giving me less. I get what I pay for. So there is no reason to be stingy about a 10 year old. And one who can’t eat a lot. Shame on you. I won’t be doing business here again.

Brunch with my sister. Great service, food is always good and filling. I always have leftovers. Theyre Matzo Ball soup is one of my favorites. Had it with Grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon. Yum. My sister had her favorite at any diner - Greek burger deluxe. Nice time to eat, chat and catch up . Definitely recommend SPD.

Just to say... the staff is very attentive ( thats very important!always checking for your table and cordial service) the food is nice portions, the taste is good. Not complaining at all. But the decor or something is not inviting. My suggestion: some color vibes will make it bababoom! 90% recommended this place, will be 100% if the owner change the decor a little! Kisses and hugs. Typically the food is good. I do look forward to going there. Tonight I have the twin fillets of sole, one stuffed with spinach and feta the other one stuffed with some type of imitation crab. The spinach was obviously frozen spinach and was very very wet and it was very little feta cheese. I havent eaten the so called crab stuffing yet. I brought home a gyro platter for my daughter that had 3 pieces of some pre-shaped gyro meat. This is not what I expect from Greek restaurant diner. I expect it carved off a gyro mold not something bought frozen from Costco or Restaurant Depot. I can make that. Over all I was not happy with the meal, ESP the gyro, when I called to ask I got the guys up front and they seem to have no control so I cant even blame them. This time our experience was not good and not what it has been. Ill go to Maureens Kitchen for a while on Sunday mornings instead.

The food here is decent, the service is horrible. On several occasions I had to get up and ask the manager for assistance. The first time was to get a server to take our order, the second time was to get Gravy for my mashed potatoes and the third time to get a refill on my water. This may be contributed to it being early afternoon on a Monday, either way, the service could have been way better. Portion size is huge. If you eat a lot, this is a good place to eat. If you get full easily, you will have a lot of food left on your plate when youre ready to leave. Overall, Im pleased with the food, with the exception of the very watered down mashed potatoes, and very displeased with the service received on my visit.

Served us bad coleslaw like it turned and was warm. Passed us up for refilling coffee. Used to be a good place. Not a fan anymore.

Food is awful! Ordered salad lettuce was all core the stuff you normally throw away! Coffee tasted burnt. Dressing was all oil. Place needs a good cleaning too. Wont be going back!

The waiter messed up our order charged us for a deluxe combo when we didnt order that. The waiter was no where to be seen after giving us our meal! I wanted to pay the bill with two different cards a visa card and my debit card they only charged my debit card! They were rude about it. It was worse service I hve ever had

I stopped in because the Vegetable soup was highly recommended. I added a corn beef sandwich and the service was excellent.

Friendly good food fair prices

Generally the food is usually good and the service is as well. However the last time I was there I ordered a garden salad to take home and had leftover potato salad. Both were bad the next day indicating that theyre food is not fresh.

Been coming here since I was a young child. The spinach pie and curly fries is always a good choice. Also the service is usually wondeful, plus fast which is a bonus, they even have some decent cocktails and desserts. Was always partial to the chocolate dipped almond horn and I absolutely love the spinach dinner rolls. Open late! I do miss the juke boxes, but its still a great diner.

I go here with my girlfriend whenever we get the chance. Staff is amazing here with always being attentive to your table. They are also super kind, and the owner is always there if you need any help. Food is a bit pricey depending on what you get, but overall it is fairly affordable and is delicious for your moneys worth.

Quality has died here. after 7 years I returned with great expectations and was served jail style mashed potatoes. the recipe is dehydrated potatoes flakes and water. thats it. everything was horrible. we were a party of 10 and everybody was disgusted by the food. shame this place has gone downhill

Centereach high school loves this.dimer it is our long standing tradition to go to this diner after opening night of our shows. The staff is always so efficient and accommodating!

The host was a total b****. The owner/manager was not welcoming at all. I guess his obnoxious attitude trickled unto his staff. The waitress was very nice. I feel bad couldnt rate the waitress separately but at least I tipped her pretty good.

We ordered our food, my wifes Greek omelet was an American ch omelet. So rather than to wait for my burger to get cold, I ate. Then our waitress actually forgot we were waiting for our food, which really upset me. Then we requested for the bill & that never came. I blame the entire experience on the owner, not having enough staff for a Sat night. Will never go back again

Suffolk Palace Diner is usually a 5-star go to place for us, except for this last time. Im giving 1 star only because our last visit about a week ago was a bad experience thanks to Lois, our waitress. Lois was inattentive, dismissive and pretty much ignored us. We had to keep reminding her for our drinks at the beginning of our seating when she took our order but much to our dismay, they showed up only after our food came AND only when we reminded her we were thirsty and would really like those beverages that we asked for a looong time ago. We also asked for extra napkins but she never brought them. We needed refills midway through but she never bothered to come by and check on us. Slurping on melting ice because youre desperate for a drink really sucks. I ended up having to ask for more drinks along with the check well after we were done with our meals, after sitting there for about 15 minutes looking around the room for her and trying to get her attention. The diner wasnt filled with a lot of customers either, so there was no excuse other than she just didnt give a crap. I happened to hear Lois on the phone taking an order for someone while I was paying and she was very cold and dismissive to that person as well. I hope the owners read this because, being a person in operations for a firm that has a customer service division, I know how one bad apple could spread a negative perception of a company. If it were up to me, Lois wouldnt be waiting tables, she would be waiting on the unemployment line.
