AMAZING LOCATION had tons of singles and even did CFV

These guys are awesome. They are more than willing to take the time (even when its inconvenient) to help pass on a love of board games to kids (and re-awaken it in parents). Theyve got a great selection of fun games for kids and are knowledgeable about playing them. Im really looking forward to meeting their Pokemon trainer and getting trained with my son.

Your Centreville source for table top gaming. They have a selection of board games, card games, and miniatures. They also have paint for the miniatures as well. Dice, books, and accessories are also available. They recently updated their layout and expanded their stock. Both good things as their selection seemed limited before.The store itself is a bit narrow, but its long allowing for enough space for the tables in the back where you can play. The staff has always been friendly and helpful when asked. It always has a great games store vibe in here, but can feel a little cramped at times.

Island Games is great. I have been playing Magic here for a year or two now.... The staff is friendly, the store is large enough for a good crowd, and they always have something going on. Its kid friendly, and most of the regular customers are friendly to play against... Prices are pretty good for a store like this (its hard for them to compete with online prices, but they do a pretty good job.), and their entry fees and prize support is usually pretty good as well.

It is the closest store to mae and I love it. I only come here for Magic the Gathering and the community is grrat and the selection is good. I can recommend this place for anyone close by.

Really cool place to play. Come here every week for weekly events and prizes. Ian and Carl are the guys to talk to. Theyll help you out about everything in the store and will help you out with no problem. Customer support may be iffy at times. But theyll always try to resolve issues.

I decided to come to this store with my friends because a store closer to us was out of booster boxes. I liked the selection of board games and ended up getting a booster box and a copy of secret hitler. I don’t think I would go back for any reason other than availability of product though. I did not like that I spent a decent amount of money and the guy behind the counter did not thank me for my business or say to have a good night on my way out the door. Other than that the shop was fairly decent. It was significantly less cluttered than most card shops. The art on the walls was really cool. They could just use some work on small customer service things.

The employees didnt even acknowledge that I had walked in the store, or asked if I needed help. I was the only customer in the entire store after walking in 30 minutes after they had opened. I wish I could rate their people skills and customer service but they didnt even give me a head nod, just looked in my direction and casually returned to the conversation the were having towards the back of the store. If I ever want to feel insignificant and have all my questions regarding board games left unanswered, nonchalantly be ignored and waste a good 5 minutes of my life again, then Ill be sure to come back to island games.

A convenient place to play yugioh competitive locally from where I live. However, the locals and even one of the staff exhibits predatory behavior on new players, like myself, whenever they know you have a valuable card. The environment attracts toxic behaviors, be wary.

Very cool local game shop (LGS), with a nice group of regulars. Lots of MTG players, as well as a bunch of fun games to play for free.Good folks, for sure.

Went in looking for a Ticket to Ride and expansion packs. Theyve got a great selection of up and coming games and kickstarters that you wouldnt find many places. 5 stars for the staff, these guys rock.

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. They staff supports all sorts of games ranging from tcg to board games. The location is a bit tight, but there is always enough room to play.

Its so cramped, and indeed the predatory practices have been witnessed. I barely frequent this store except for hobby paint, if that these days. I used to be a regular, but the crowds that fall into my hobbies go here because they can get away with toxic behavior and nothing happen to them.Ive known the owner since the store was opened, and if you ever wanted to leave feeling like youve been talked down to, hes your guy. I am certainly not always right, but he sure is.Id advise anyone to take the extra 15 to 20 minutes to Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn. Similar selections, better staff, compassionate (and not condescending) owner.

They have open gaming every Tuesday. Additionally if you dont know anyone they will help you find a game. Other nights they have different activities I only go on Tuesdays though.

Game selection was limited but to be expected from a mom and pop game shop. Without a doubt, my go-to game shop.

Cashier was very nice and informative. They were having MtG games in the back half of the store while there and they do D&D, too.

Staff is awesome and super knowledgeable. Ive been coming here for about a year and the staff is so enjoyable to be around that last week when I had a personal matter I had to attend to and head to drop out of their Yu-Gi-Oh tournament I still stayed until closing strictly because of the people. All of the staff members will always help you with getting into games or teaching you more about them. For example, Kevin, one of the staff members, helped a friend of mine try out Yu-Gi-Oh for the first time in years. He created a perfect environment for fun. I also have had great experiences with the staff when selling cards. They always do their absolute best in making sure that you are satisfied with what they are offering you. Finally, although I am a Yu-Gi-Oh player, Ive met a few cool magic players and got great advice for learning and picking up magic.

The Island Games are an international multi-sports event organised by the International Island Games Association. Competitor teams each represent different island communities which are IIGA members. SLOPEX UNBLOCKED BEST GAME EVERY SPENT 5 HOURS ON IT AND ONLY GOT A SCORE OF 9 LOL LOL

A good selection of miniatures, cards, board games, dice and more. Not a large space, but they make good use of it.

Good staff, well run yugioh tournaments (but its a bit too competitive for me), but tables are squished close together making it jam packed to move. Theyve recently improved theyre formerly awful yugioh product selection.

Clean, well-lit, spacious, good selection of games, and the staff is enthusiastic and knows their stuff. Also, the store has the benefit of catering both to generalist board games like Catan as well as deeper, more specialist games like mtg, x-wing, etc.

I really enjoy my time playing Yu Gi Oh with everyone, the tournament was very competitive and the store is clean with a HUGE selection for every game. Good for Magic players, Good for Yu Gi Players also.-Note: The people that work there are verynice.

Refused to pull cards because I did not give them 24 hours in advance notice. Drove 25 minutes in the rain on my lunch break and they did nothing for me. I wanted over 200 dollars in cards..Ill take my business else-wear.. the manager seemed to care less... just let me leave no apology or anything... Thanks for the terrible service!!!!

Fun place to hang out for game nights.

Lots of tables for play and supplies for a lot of card gamrs. They also host regular tournaments for CFV and Yu-Gi-Oh, but they can go late into the night it seems.

Clean with plenty of table space for open play. A newer store in the area that is open minded to customers opinions and criticism. Calendar is filled with many events throughout the month and offers to schedule events of interest from customers.Many games available to demo and a friendly community of regular gamers that attend the store.The regular players in the store are great for answering questions for their respective games, and really help out new players. Be wary of special Magic the gathering events on weekends and Thursday Yugioh nights if you do not play those games, the store will get pretty crowded with few open tables.Store offers discounts for special ordered games made through them, if the item is not normally carried. Discounts also given to popular board games of the month.As a whole, the store is still in a growing phase which allows it to be versatile in catering to its regular customers and a growing community. A definite must visit at least once, and Sunday School event is a great time to bring the family out to learn a new board game together.Edit (11/20/2015):With the addition of personel, performance as a whole has improved significantly. Changes and improvements are implemented much quicker and is noticeable by any regular customers.The community base has been rapidly growing which may act as a double edge as game groups will tend to want overlapping days of the week which limits available table space.From simple observation; Thursday, Friday, scheduled miniature tournanents and special card game event weekends will tend to leave little to no table space. It is advised to contact the store or check the calendar before planning group meetups at the store for space availability.TL:DR. A great new local store offering a lot of options for new gamers, or veterans. Plenty of space with room for improvement before receiving top marks. See for yourself.

The store smelled like straight BO or like a nasty gas station bathroom. However the staff and selection of games was great.

Had a bit of a bad experience there today. I signed up for the 1/17/15 Fate Reforged pre-release. A day or so before the release I was sick and called the store to explain that I would not be able to make it due to my illness and what options I had to either get a refund or the pre-release kit. The guy on the phone (cant remember the name) told me I could just come in at a later date and get the kit or do the refund. I chose to get the kit, while still talking to the same guy he asked if it would be ok if I just gave my kit to someone else instead who could actually be there instead of me taking it. I said sure why not, that sounds fair. Instead I would just get regular packs. Fast forward to 3/11/15 I go in to pick up my packs because I am feeling well. The guy in the store (not who i talked to on the phone) called the guy who i talked to on the phone to confirm my story that I indeed was to pick up packs because i already paid my 25 dollars. While on the phone I guess the guy told him to tell me that I need to be better about coming in sooner because its been 3 months already (only had been less than 2 and I was never given a time frame to pick them up) and that I cant just let them sit for that long.I didnt understand the problem because I already called ahead and explained my situation and they already had my 25 dollars. So why am I being scolded? I just would like what i paid for which ended up being 6 packs (still lost a dollar because it is 24 dollars for 6 packs). So i explained to the guy at the store i have been battling cancer for a year and a half and had chemotherapy done slightly before the pre-release that wasnt scheduled due to my cancer growing. Anyone who has been through chemo or knows someone knows that you feel terrible for a few days or weeks afterwards. I didnt think i would have to get that far in depth in to my personal history but apparently I did before he apologized. Due to this disrespect to me after I had given up my pre-release kit after they asked me to and accepting 6 packs and losing money I will just end up driving to Fairfax Comics and Gaming due to how nice they have been to me in the past.

Trying to shop local. The guy (owner?) behind the counter didnt bother to stop his personal conversation while ringing up my sale, no greeting, no thanks. I overpaid by 30% for horrible service. Never going back.
