The food was excellent as well as the server. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The menu has a wide variety of choices to please all.
This place is great! Not in a good part of town so you have to be comfortable with the crowd but the food is so good and its priced well considering what you get. Service was on point too our waiter was very attentive and great at what he does. I just wish it was located in a better area and not so far out of the way from where I usually travel. But its a nice treat, especially late at night. FYI they are closed on Sundays! You definitely wont regret coming here.
Camp Washington is hands down the GREATEST place on the east coast to for chili. They have some other top notch items like desserts too. Theyve won over the years dozens upon dozens of awards. This is THE number one stop if youre visiting the tristate area.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, so I’ve been around the block when it comes to chili. But somehow I had never made it to Camp Washington! I had heard it talked about so much that I finally stopped in. The place was bustling, nearly every table was full. It had an old time diner feel which I liked. Lots of pictures on the wall and cozy booths. The service was amazing, I was helped almost immediately after sitting down. And got my food within just a couple minutes of ordering. I got a cheese coney and a 4 way onion. The chili was different from any other kind I’ve had in cincinnati. It was a little sweeter than skyline. I liked it better on the Way than on the coney, but both were good. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu.
Being new to Ohio from California, I both wanted to try the local specialty but was also pretty leery of chili on pasta with cheddar. My first encounter at a competitors did not impress. Camp Washington changed my mind. While still different for an outsider, the chili was delicious -- great texture and consistency, great seasoning and balance of flavors, and with a bit of hot sauce Im a believer. Even though the chili was great, my favorite was the bacon and tomato sandwich. No nonsense, traditional bacon and tomato on white bread with lettuce and mayo. But the bacon is cooked right, the tomatoes are deep red and fresh -- it was classic and delicious. They also have a great strawberry lemonade that tasted real. The staff is working hard, very busy, but friendly, attentive, and efficient. My waitress was talking about regulars and saving tables for them and I can see why people keep coming back for 80 years. Cant wait to taste more of the menu.
A Cincinnati institution, dont miss this experience. Their menu is extensive, including diner -like breakfast fare and of course Cincinnati style chili . I was with 2 friends and we all ordered 3 ways, the spaghetti, chili and mound o cheese that Camp Washington Chili is known for. There is a long counter and many tables and booths to accommodate most groups or singles. Get there early for lunch or youll fight for a parking space .
Drive thru or pleasing inside atmosphere enjoy an authentic unique Cincinnati neighborhood chilli flavor, prepared how you like it five ways.
Closed!!! Covid please bring my baby back from the dead. Neighborhood looks like it needs more chili and less crack. Going here for my birthday if they open by 2050. Washington used to own slaves so not sure if that name is appropriate any more. Also I heard someone once call a woman hot sauce so maybe we can call it spicy liquid from now on. Good parking.
Visiting from Washington State. Came in with my eyes set on chili cheese coney only to find out the coneys aren’t all beef (broke my heart), lost one star. Ordered nachos and a burger instead. Warm nachos and the flavor was just ok..lost another star. Oh well I’ve got my Cincinnati chilli fix I guess and I’ll head back home tomorrow. I tried to finish the meal but the waitress was really nice and provided great customer service.
The drive thru is horrible. They dont listen when ya order and the employees are rude. The orfer is ALWAYS messed up or missing an item
The people were friendly but the restaurant could have been cleaner. The chili was different from other chilis because Cincinnati uses cinnamon in theirs. For the price though, you received enough food. I think I would have enjoyed going to Goldstar Chili or other chili locations in the city. Or so I have been told by chili connoisseurs.
The best cheese coneys and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches in cincinnati!!! A must try.
The food and service was excellent! Thank you. That was my first time ever eating there and I will definitely be back.
Very slow service. Not from being busy but forgetful.
Sorry I dont know what the big deal is with this place. The chili didnt have any spicy taste what so ever. I had 2 cheese coneys. Hardly had any chili on them. The server was nice.
Best chili in Cincy! Best all around restaurant. Great menu items. But I did notice a couple of customers speaking rudely to employees for no reason. No one came to their rescue either. Owners dont back their female employees??
Great chilli, huge double decker sandwiches
The manager is rude an disrespectful. Their food is starting to become oily an full of grease. The service is poor. They mess up orders an I sat for over an hour with no food. When I asked about my order the manager got smart an rude because she forgot about my order after asking me 3 times what I ordered. Then she proceeded to argue with me because I asked about my order. Then said Ill just give your money back but she couldnt find the receipt. Sad‼
I been coming here for years since I was a little girl & the food is good all the time. Its just good to know when u are a regular customer the restaurant know EXACTLY how u like ur food.
Great food-ate in for breakfast and carry out for later for my shift in ER! Fast and friendly service!!! Will definitely eat there in the future...will have to make it a favorite for Uber eats while working!!!
Bought 4 pints chili and spaghetti and one 1/2 pint chili and spaghetti 🍝. The noodle were over cooked and its didnt have any taste. The kids wouldnt eat it. Would not 🚫 go back again. Called to express concerns. The manager said no one else called. Well I was always taught to worry about myself and I am not worried about everyone else when I still had chili just sitting where my family didnt eat it. Will not spend any more money there.
A must visit to Cincinnati. Yes we have Skyline and Gold Star, but this place is unique and they have more than chili. Great service.
Best cheese Coneys in Cincinnati. There gyros are also really good.
It was really good. I have lived in Cincinnati my entire life, and never set foot in there.
Really good chili. I prefer this over Skyline and Gold Star.
Chili coneys were great. Ill be back. Thanks for being open late night.
Went there because of the great reviews. Never ordered because we left just as fast as we sat down. Waitress yelling across restaurant asking how many menus the table needed. Very unprofessional atmosphere. Find better people to work there and yiu may have a gem. The food may have great but we didnt even get that far. As a visitor from out of town I do not recommend this place AT ALL.
Nice, quaint joint. Cincinnati style chili. My favorite is the breakfast scramble bowl!!!
🤷🏽♀️ Standard Cincinnati chilli, but I am inclined to feel that both Skyline and Goldstar have a more standout taste. Its definitely open later than both of the franchises, however.
First timer for me and friends. Reasonable to ask: what took so long? Good food at good prices in a clean and very friendly environment. Bonus that they serve beer. Double bonus that they are open 24/6 although you wont find me there early a.m. hours. Even though they have a lot more than Chili on the menu, the chili items are distinctive enough to carve out their own niche from the chains. If you have been to this venerable Cincinnati institution then Im not telling you anything new. If you havent been then give it a shot. You will likely be glad that you did.
Been going here since I was 9 and the food still taste the same I love it here.
Of course, best thing Ive had here is the chili and spaghetti. Tried the burger and the patty melt... not for me. Its technical issues really; bread not really toasted on the patty melt. But for chili and double deckers 👌
Love the biscuits 🍪 and gravy ! So does my kids we visit frequently !! If u r not from camp wash u have to stop through here we even had man vs food make a surprise visit at our local chili place !!
The best Double Decker Turkey Club Double Bacon Sandwich I ever had! Im hooked for Life! On Life! Be well family!
A zombie just walked to our table with latex gloves and a mask. You should ask ppl if they want a zombie or a human (no gloves no mask) serving them at the door. Latex gloves should be changed everytime you touch something. I dont even wanna eat now. Im definitely not drinking the drink she brought me. I have always loved this place still do. But mask and gloves carry lots of bacteria and germs.
I ordered a ham n cz melt through drive through, and I drove less than a mile up the road and the entire sandwich was soggie to doggie to even try to eat. The cheese coneys were 👏though.
I grew up on this chili, and I thought it was terrible. I dont think I will be back. The chili had a sour taste. The server we had was great.
I love this place. But Im sick and tired of masked servers. What if something falls from their mask into our food like the snot that its been catching all day or something else disgusting.
Well worth the money, big portion and awesome food and service
It was very busy, the food was just okay, our waitress was wonderful, I order cheese Coney dogs, they were dry as hell.
Food is always fresh and delicious, but their so busy is sometimes hard to leave when were already done.
Went through the drive through again today.. Server....CG$. Order 00 65 .The server was very kind and professional. I needed a little boost today andhid service was most helpful.Thsnks to all.Food GTEAY as usual. 3D
On my way to hitting the top 10 Cincinnati chili joints in Cincinnati this is my first stop on the way. My five way Chili was very bland even the chili cheese fries tasted like ground beef and cheese no real seasoning none of that Greek style seasoning that most Cincinnati chili have.Like Shania Twain song “that don’t impress me much”thank you
Better chili and easy to feed a big group. The chili is meatier and spicier than the rest. We ordered Coney Pack at the drive thru and it was read in short order.
An Icon in the Cincinnati chili game, great old atmosphere.
This place has gone down down way down. Before I left Cincinnati this was my go to place. Now I have to go to price hill chili.Horrible service and pancakes. Buns are always hard and cold. Waitress didnt care about our needs whatsoever.
Dont waste your time or money here. The owner is disrespectful and rude. Despite being told the order was wrong, she was rude on the phone and in person, telling me to take my money and buy a drink with it despite it being before noon and myself trying to get an order for my employer. This place is trash and no one should eat here, no because of the high price and bad quality, but the people are just as bad, especially coming from managment. Intolerable diserespect
I had a really good double cheeseburger with bacon and egg after 3 am.
Local legend in the Cincinnati chili business and 24/7 breakfast yes, please and thank you. I usually get the cheese coneys and my wife likes to try something different on the menu each time. When the buns are steamed that’s a delicious coney. A lot less commercial than Goldstar or Skyline but equally as delicious. Definitely worth the visit.
Undoubtedly one of the Old School Iconic, Cincinnati Based, Original Restaurants Still in Business Today after 40+ years. and open 24 hours as day for buisness inside or out.. Thank You Camp Washington Chili, you are loved and Cincy wont be the same without you. Yes, Cincy Chili does go with spaghetti..
Every single person working here that we encountered was friendly. Great food, fast service. We were in and out within about 25 minutes, but it didnt feel like we were rushed. Just efficient service and great food
Great chilli! Our waiter was awesome! Sorry forgot his name.
I love nachos. I was really sad when Gold Star got rid of their nachos. Camp Washington has chili cheese nachos - and they are amazing. I added onion to mine, but they would have been just fine without it. Since it was my first time at Camp Washington Chili, I also ordered a small 4 way with onion. They use thicker noodles than Skyline or Gold Star, which I quite enjoyed. Their onion rings were also cooked perfectly. Everything was served hot. Our waitress was great once she came around to take our order. In all fairness, there were a couple of tables that were commanding all her attention when we first got there. I cant believe Id waited so long to go here, but I will most certainly be back.
Terrible service they constantly get your order wrong or forget something in your order. This has happend the last 3 times we tried to get food on our lunch break. How are you a coney company but forget to put cheese on a coney, oh and the best part is no refund. This place is trash just like all the homeless people that sit on thier front door begging for customers money.
Really great! Fun 50s atmosphere. And open 24x6!
I went to camp washington school behind white castle and camp washington chilli my mom always took me here after school for chilli now i go there anytime im by there and think of me and my mom eating there
Great chili of course, but also their hamburger was surprisingly good
NO MASKS!!! I asked the woman taking the orders if the cooks were not wearing masks because they were vaccinated she said no theyre not wearing them because theyre hot I told her that was not good enough and I left I dont want them breathing all over my food. I also called and reported it to the health department.
Great place to eat no lone lines in & out a very clean place. The staff is friendly an helpful .
This was my first Cincinnati Chili experience, and it will not be my last! The 5 Way Chili is definitely the way to go, do yourself and get a side of onion rings too. I cannot wait to come back!
I usually love eating here but this time it wasnt the greatest. The chili cheese fries were served cold as well as the bowl of chili my date got. It seemed like they were busy so we didnt complain. Even though it wasnt the greatest experience Im sure I will be back there again since I know the food isnt always like that.
Always good and consistent. Christy is always cheerful and effecient!
Camp Washington Chili is always my family and my go to restaurant. They have everything from a burger and fries to eggs and bacon. Of course as the name suggests they have chili. In my opinion Camp Washington Chili has the best chili I have ever had.
Delicious double Deckers & friendly staff
This is the iconic Cincinnati chili parlor. It is comfortable dining there but I usually get carryout. The chili is delicious and a bit different than other Cincinnati style chilis. It tastes meatier and they offer hot sauce for that extra tasty kick. The walls are covered with write-ups in magazines about the place. I highly recommend it
Has never measured up since they moved off the Corner. I used to Love CWC
Great Cincinnati style chili, great service, very reasonable priced.
Got there at the lunch rush. Still got food in a timely manner. Food was excellent.
Im not a fan of fish, but on Good Friday I felt, if I was going to eat it had to be fish. I was shocked; it was great! Thanks Camp Washington Chili! Youve changed my mind and at the age of 67 thats nothing shy of a miracle! Have a blessed Easter you all❣️
If there are times when you are carry out only SAY IT ON YOUR WEBSITE or when you call!!!!!! Drove 20 mins to be told carry out only !!!!
Long time fan of this place, sometimes helpful friendly staff always good food
Great chili dogs, better than skyline or gold star chili. Will try the double decker sandwich next time.
Foods was great as always. If you are in the area I would suggest stopping in for a coney and fries
Ive go to this restaurant from time to time when it comes to a special order the Cookes are 10 for 10 for knot getting it right for ex/ i ordered a B.L.T/ WITH extra bacon on the side they allways I mean always put the extra not On the side but on the sandwich & I say I want it on rye not white bread a few years ago I made a complaint with one of the managers about the same problem and that the drive thru attended at that time give me a few of her choice words Im here to tellya it seems nothing have changed may be just my be if they pay there employees little more it would shine on there customer. but still when it comes to a special order they seems to loose all trained of thoughts
This chili is phenomenal! Ordered it 5 ways! Loved it!
My version of Cheers Bar. Historic, iconic, hot dogs Cincy style Pie. Love blue color staff and clientele. Some students and neighbors. A getaway.
For a town known for its chili - this is the original and best by far. Great retro diner with friendly service to match - you just feel a part of the family the moment you enter. They take care of you!
Not a long wait at all . Very tasty and filling
Great, fast service in the drive thru tonight. As I was driving home I said oh shoot I forgot to ask for hot sauce, but he put it in the bag without me asking. The chili was soooo delicious.
Super busy. Food was great. I had to go to the front to get more than one thing instead of my waitress. (The last behind the counter was super nice and sweet.) And we never got refills.
