Every time I come here Im impressed by the two men whipping up breakfast for 20+ people there.The food options are basic country breakfast foods, and they are executed well. The fried potatoes with onions are my fav dish here.Like others have commented, make sure to bring cash. The prices are very affordable.
Food is some of my favorite food in the city, both breakfast and lunch, really tasty at a fair price. So if the food is that good and I only gave a two star rating, what could be the issue? THE SERVICE!!! They used to have a waitress on Sunday morning that could handle the whole dining room by herself with ease. Now they have a girl that is completely overwhelmed and when she gets flustered she just completely shuts down. It’s really sad because this has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, but I won’t be able to return because this lack of service by completely ignoring our table is inexcusable!
Wonderful little diner. Had the opportunity to go there for lunch. We both had the jumbo burger platter it was delicious I highly recommend this place.

Most of the customers are regulars, and you cant beat the prices!!! plus, waitstaff has always been very friendly, kind, and attentive. highly recommend the pancakes and the fried chicken!

Me and my friend went to go get some lunch. We waited but the door for 10mins before we asked about being seated than was told to seat ourselves. After sitting for 27mins the waiter never even asked us of we waited something to drink. Than after Talking to a gentleman who was stated he had been waiting on his check to leave for 20 plus mins,another 15 mins had went by without one person asking if we wanted anything. So we got up and walked out. No the place was not super busy. And yes the waiter seen us sit down at the table. I heard the food was good but Ill never know because Ill never go back. The customer service was a mess.
Good place to hang and eat some good food. Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. Prices are fair. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I loved.

This place is eggcellent for breakfast. Okay, in all seriousness it’s a quaint little spot and the food is great with reasonable prices. The couple times I went, it’s always busy but don’t be discouraged, you’ll find your way in. Don’t forget cash because that’s the only way to pay.

Great hole-in-the-wall diner, has great fried breakfast potatoes! Feels like youre stepping back into the 70s, but in a good way. Staff is incredibly friendly and the food is very well priced. Be sure to bring cash, though.
So I must be honest, the only thing Ive had here is the fried chicken. Why because its so good I cant order anything else. I have been eating this chicken for over 20 years! My mom worked at the VA from the 70s until 1992. It used to be called Hitching Post. My only issue is that I love wings and sometimes they run out. What a problem to have. 😀

Cute mom and pop shop on Ludlow Ave near a lot of shops and close to University of Cincinnati. I went for breakfast and got the pancakes. Great price for what you get. You can also stop in and order to go. CASH ONLY - there are a few banks nearby with ATMs
My boyfriend and I were regulars at proud rooster when we went to UC. The best breakfast place in Clifton! Food and service are always amazing. Our one waitress has been there the entire time weve been going and shes always so friendly. Meal for 2 usually costs us $16 total. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Best mom and pop restaurant in the area. Service is good but can take some time depending in the crowd. Definitely try the spicy goetta, my personal favorite. The omettes are white good and servings are not too big. Their chicken dinners are wonderful too! Basically everything is good and you should try everything!
Good and Affordable American Breakfast/Lunch. Also this is a CASH only restaurant.I have tried Pancakes, Hash browns, Onion rings, Toasted Bread. Pan cakes were served with butter and maple syrup and it was amazing. Hashbrowns were very crispy. Onion rings are just OK.My friends tried Fish and Chips, Omlette. They are very happy with the taste. My favorite breakfast food in the Clifton area. This diner has an old town feel that reminds me a lot of the diners back home in Kansas I grew up with. Little league teams dot the walls, along with other pictures. The staff is super friendly all the time, and they never seem to stop moving on refilling drinks and making sure your food is good.Speaking of which, the food is excellent and very reasonable priced. My regular is the chicken tenders, but their hamburgers and omlets stick out as other good choices. Overall, you cant go wrong with this fantastic, family owned restaurant.
Nice diner style place with delicious breakfast along the historic gaslight district. Peruse the shops and take in a movie at the Esquire when youre done eating to make it a perfect day!

Been there twice now and both experiences were horrible. First time it was dirty silverware and no ice for my water in a plastic cup. The food is so so and for the quality and service the food is over priced. Went in Friday morning wasnt too busy, waitress saw me and said Ill get to you when I get to you. Then walked past me three times without even handing me a menu. Their hours are sketchy, and they only take CASH in this day in age that alone can cut your businesss profits its uncalled for.
