All you really need to know is that you should not do business with Mills Fence. If you want to know why you can read on.Almost exactly a year ago (Oct 2020) we put a 50% deposit down on an aluminum fence with two standard size gates and one double sized gate for our back yard. When we put the deposit down we were told about 10 weeks for install. When the install coordinator called the following week after receiving our deposit they told us it would be around 16 weeks. It ended up being about 19 weeks when the installers showed up.The installers completed the fence except for the gates and informed me that the gates would need to be special order because of the grade. They said it would be two to three weeks but to call the office the following Monday to confirm. The person at the office told me it would be two to three MONTHS! As the three months came to a close I kept trying to get an update and could never get a straight answer from anyone at Mills. I was told they hadn’t shipped yet and then I was told they were on a manifest but they couldn’t find them. Sometimes they would just put me on hold and hang up.Finally I decided to go out there in person. I was told that it was all the manufacturers fault. So I asked for a contact there. I was given a name and phone number along with my order number. So I called trying to get an answer. They said they would call me back but never did. Then I get a rude and angry phone call from Mills telling me that I need to not call the manufacturer. Suddenly within two days they show up at my house with the gates. Coincidence?After the installer was here for a while he tells me that the gates were made backwards and would not look right. They would need to be re-ordered. I asked them to put them up anyway while we waited the next three months for the replacements so they did. Two days later I open the gate and it falls off, they only put one screw in it. I try to call Mills and they won’t call me back so I have to fix it myself.Three months later in August without any communication in between, the replacement gates show up. Two are good but the double gate looks terrible. When I go to use it the latch comes right off. They didn’t even put the screw in it. I called them back. They come out and tell me again that the gates were made wrong and we will have to reorder. I don’t hear from them again until this week when they show up unannounced and say that they are going to try to adjust these gates and make them look better. They make some changes and it does look better. But now one of the other gates is sticking so I had to adjust it myself.All in all I have never had such a terrible experience with any company. Their communication is awful, they are unprofessional, unorganized and will not accept responsibility for anything. I am just glad to be done with them.

I would NOT recommend Mills Fence Co.I had them out TWICE to make the SAME repair to the SAME section of a cedar wood privacy fence and BOTH times the repair FAILED. As it turns out, the second repair (they sent out a freelance contractor) was made with UNTREATED lumber. No wonder the post rotted in half at ground level. It was barely in any concrete and was only 1 FOOT in the ground! The customer service after the first repair was POOR at best. They were argumentative and did NOT stand by their work.On a bright note, I JUST REPLACED THE ENTIRE FENCE....MYSELF!! 400 feet of vinyl 2-tone solid privacy fence, 2 gates (4ft & 10ft). 100% maintenance-free, heavy-duty commercial with steel hinge posts, steel bottom-rail inserts and custom-made/welded-steel gates. No rotting, NO SHODDY INSTALLATION! Posts are heavily-cemented 34” in ground (well below frost line).Mills Fence Co did NOT get the job...and was not even considered.

So I waited two months for an estimator to meet me and give me a 1 panel replacement estimate. After waiting 45 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, estimator never shows up and I have to call Mills, who in turns tells me to call the estimator directly and gives me his number. He is late because he had a personal errand to run and would be there in approx. 30 mins. I had to go to work and left after calling Mills back and telling them how unacceptable this was. Estimator apparently eventually shows up and emails me a quote on Aug. 2. I promptly pay the estimate and the check clears the bank Aug. 5. Scheduler emails me on Aug. 13 to schedule for November. I respond and explain that I wont own the home in November and what should I do. I was informed possibly could do the panel repair in September and she would follow-up. Never hear back. This morning (since closing is tomorrow) I have spoken to 3 people and finally may possibly have a resolution. I only went with this company since the original homeowner had used them to install the original. Glad I used Eads for my home fence. I understand lengthy install times but I cant get past the lack of communication and professionalism with this company.

Really upset with Mills Fence. We ordered a fence on June 9th that was supposed to take 14 weeks. We have been calling to check on this fence weekly for the past month. Each employee advised that the fence was not in yet. Today - we were told that it was never ordered. This if for one of our customers! They did not offer to help or fix the problem in any way. Seriously unprofessional and terrible customer service.

Edit:Mills did send someone to clean up the worksite and he was very kind. Revising my rating because they completed the job on a more positive note.Almost everyone was unprofessional, hard to reach, and I was told several different stories about when to expect the service I paid for. The installers showed up without an appointment twice, did not have me inspect their work (which technically they did not address some areas that I was told by the estimator would be fixed), and left garbage in my yard. When I emailed and asked about the areas that were not updated, they did mention they did above and beyond what was invoiced. Thats great, but I was not made aware of this while they were installing. Had they simply taken the time to speak to me when they were here, they would not have missed the portion of fencing in question. I appreciated the fact that they expedited the service, given they are backed up due to residual issues from Covid, but it wouldve been nice to have a heads up when the installation was going to be performed as a courtesy.They have refused to remove the trash from my yard, which is super inconvenient as I currently have a broken ankle. They have all but ceased communication with me, yet I have an outstanding invoice for an experience that was subpar. Never again.

Very terrible customer service and communication. took them months and never completed the job - i had to hire an additional contractor tear down and finish the fence. they promised a fence design that they could not deliver, and they still tried to bill full price for the incomplete job.

We have done several jobs with this company. Weve had them install basic metal perimeter fences and they went fine. When we had them attempt to fix a fence with electric gate it was a disaster. After clearly pointing out where the electric lines ran underground, they dug into the ground to place a support and cut the electric line. This caused a short which killed the power to the gate and they refuse to fix the issue. Their contract says they are not responsible for all sorts of issues, including ones they cause after being given easy instructions. We will never deal with them again.

Hired them to install a 260 chain link fence w/slats at my work. Overall, hiring/scheduling process went smooth and their bid was competitive. The fence looked good for about a week-then we noticed the slats were falling through. The workmen did not situate them properly in the bottom so they fell through to the ground.I called twice, and both times was promised someone would be sent to fix the problem. No one ever came and I finally ended up having my own guy do the repair, which was simple work, but fairly time consuming along a 260 fence. I pay my workmen to do the work of my business, not correct the work of the fence installer. I would not recommend them.

We were in the middle of getting our fence installed and realized we ordered the wrong posts. Lowe’s said it would take two more weeks to get what we wanted. Our contractor told us about Mills Fence Co so we drove 45 min in desperation. Once there we were treated like gold. They not only had the fence posts but the custom drilled holes for us while we waited. I Couldn’t be happier and strongly recommend them. Great people!!

If I could leave zero stars, I would.This was my 3rd time using Mills Fence company for special events fencing. The first time, despite my contract stating they were to set up and install, they dropped off the fencing in the parking lot and left.This time I contracted them in December for special event parking lot fencing. The bottom line is they, once again, dropped the fence off without setting it up. I spent 2 hours on the phone with the company to get them to fulfil their contract and come set it up. I was hung up on 2xs, once by the customer liaison, and the calledocalled of our staff members inept.The event was Saturday and as of today (Friday), the fence is still sitting in our parking lot waiting to be removed (weve called 2xs and no response).When I called after the fact to try and talk to upper management my experience (Id want to know if it was my company), I was told they dont have any 😊 buy the same guy that hung up on me. Finally got through to an upper management. Told him my story. I can see why I was treated how I was.Bottom line, theres not any possible scenario that I would recommend anyone to rent from or trust this company. Im so disappointed and would rather build a fence from scratch alone than rent from them again.

Terrible customer service. Waited months for our appt and then they kept pushing back due to delay. They dont call and tell you about the delay because the contract says they can be delayed. Busted a pipe and they dont fix it because the contract says we arent responsible for damage. Not customer friendly at all. Terrible craftsmanship on cutting boards and wire was not secured to anything. We went with them because of their price but I wish I would have paid the extra $500 just to not have to deal with them.

Had Salesmen come out and give us quote on fencing at our new property on the 1st week of June 2020. Gave us the quote and we excepted it thinking we would have the install by the end of July. Finally at the end of June we received a call from the installation dept. to setup install. Said it wouldnt be installed till the 1st week of October. Said they can put us on list that if there was any cancelations that they maybe able to move up the installation. Okay!!!!Called again around the 1st week of September to check our status on the installation and since the weather had been dry for the last 3 of 4 weeks to see if they were ahead of schedule. They told me that they have been ahead of schedule and may be able do the install sooner and would let us know. Didnt here anything so I called them up on the 29th of September to check status and was told the they were looking at sometime in November for the install. WHAT!!!!!I told them that wasnt what we agreed to when we first scheduled and if they didnt do it by then, then we would want them to see about discounting the price of the job. The guy said he would talk to the install supervisor and get back to us. He called me back and said that the worst case would be November but that the earliest would be the second week in October but couldnt guarantee it then either and also that they wouldnt offer us an discount.I Cancelled the job and told him (Calvin was is name)to send our deposit back asap:(

We gave Mills Fence many chances to make things right and they failed.Were not fence experts, so we hired a fence company to install a fence for us. We dont know whats needed for a driveway gate, so we hired someone to handle the details and install it for us.When we asked Ces Navera at Mills Fence if they were capable of installing a horizontal wood slat fence and driveway gate on our property, he said yes. He sent us a quote, we scheduled and paid for the work. They installed the wood fence and gate (and a chain link fence) in March of 2017. Jason G. was the lead installer. We followed all care instructions given to us.Within about 9 months, the gate doors started to lean in onto themselves, making them difficult to open and close. We didn’t know what the problem was – again, we’re not fence experts – but knew this was clearly within the year warranty, so we called to have it fixed. We were told repeatedly over several months that someone would come out to take a look, but we continued to have to call to follow up after not receiving a call back and not seeing anyone. Finally, in April of 2018, someone called us back. When we explained the problem once again, they claimed we were no longer within the 1-year warranty. Hilarious. Classic terrible company scheme: wait it out! We pushed back and a couple guys came out that week.The guys who came out were clearly annoyed they even had to be there and said that the hinges just needed to be moved. Once again, we’re not fence experts, so we believed them. Silly us. They also drilled new holes in the asphalt driveway that looked terrible, but whatever. As long as the fence doors we paid for worked…you know, opened and closed. And they did work! For 2.5 years. Then they got bad again.So, 3.5 years after Mills Fence provided their services and charged us for them, we have a driveway gate that doesn’t work and will cost $750 to fix. After talking with multiple fence repair companies, we learned that Mills Fence never installed the gate correctly. The hinges they moved in 2018 only rigged the problem to buy them time to get out of warranty. It didn’t fix the problem. Something the warranty is supposed to cover. All 3 companies told us the 4x4 posts Mills used were not substantial enough to hold the gate doors, that they needed to be 6x6. It wasnt a matter of accounting for settling or wood expansion, but a matter of poor engineering and planning. Estimates for replacing these posts to make the gate usable are $750-$850. We will also need to restain the new wood.We called Mills Fence in late September of 2020 to give them another chance to make it right. After we explained the situation, Sean told us someone would call back soon. Days later, after no one called, we called to give them one final chance and were told again by Sean someone would call. No one did of course.So here we are. Shame on Mills Fence.

This is a horrible company that stops providing customer service or even basic communications the instant they get your deposit, which is 50% of your fence cost.Weve been waiting for 94 days, more than 3 months, and not once have they provided an update. Additionally, whenever I call them, they normally either send me to a seemingly unmonitored voicemail, or more regularly just drop my call entirely. The few times Ive managed to speak to someone, they just sheepishly explain they have no timeline... I have to wonder... if their pre-installation customer service is this bad, just how bad will they be post-installation?I would strongly advise you to go anywhere else if youre looking for a fence. This company will *not* get the job done...

We called in April for an estimate and they came out May 14th (about 4 weeks later) then they scheduled to install the fence for July 28th. I hadn’t heard from anyone, so I called to see what time they would be coming. The guy tells me he’s “backed up”, and won’t be coming. The guy said he’d call us when he’s available. The customer’s time is just as important as your company’s. You didn’t even have the courtesy to call us. We are upset because WE called YOU to find this out. You knew at least days before that you were “backed up” and weren’t coming when you said you were. You could’ve had the courtesy to at least call us...Update: the fence and rail were installed (August 14, 2020) and look very nice.

As I’m driving to work driver 473636 cut in front of me on the highway causing a large rock to crack my windshield. I took pictures of the truck and my windshield right when it happened and contacted the company. I was transferred to an Ashley who I left a message for. A week went by and no call back so I called in and spoke with the manager and he asked me “how do I know that your not lying? This isn’t my responsibility to fix your windshield and then transferred me to Ashley who I again left a message for. I didn’t hear back in another week so I called and spoke to a gentleman who said he would look into it and give me a call. It’s been almost a month and no one has called me back. I had no idea this company even existed until that drive jumped right in front of me, but I will remember how I was treated and will never recommend this company to anyone.

Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. The finished product looks like a want-to-be handy installed the fence. They told me they would have the job completed by beginning of June. After finally getting in contact with someone at the beginning of July (I called multiple times, leaving voicemails, no one was responding) they told me they won’t be out to start the job until late August. I told them this was unacceptable and after going back and fourth with the worthless employees they were able to schedule me end of July. (Almost 2 months late) I asked for a discount because of my horrible experience and there response was “In the contract it states that installation may be delayed up to 6 months.” This is complete BS. Highly recommend NOT using Mills.

Mills Fence came to do work at the company I work for. There was no communication as to when the installers were here and when they were leaving. The job was also left unfinished the first time that they came out. Today they came back and luckily I saw them out the window. I went out to see if they were going to match the two fence posts... as they were about a foot different in height. When I asked this the installer gave me a nasty attitude and pretended as though he did not see an issue with the fence posts at all. I explained to him what I expected. He reluctantly went to match the posts. I now have a shorter post that still does not match the shorter of the two posts because the installer did not want to take the time to measure before cutting into metal. I am extremely disappointed with the service and with the communication between Mills and the company I work for. I would not recommend this company if customer service is important to you.

We had a privacy fence done with Mills Fence and I must say that I am shocked at the bad reviews! Once started, the work was done fast and the workmanship excellent! Im posting this a couple of months after the completion because I wanted to make sure that I was satisfied even weeks and weeks later and sure enough I am!We couldnt be happier with their product or their pricing. If we ever need more fencing done in the future, we will call Mills Fence!

I needed a gate and 7 feet of fence put up to keep dogs from escaping an enclosed area. I had a fence designer from Mills Fence come out and told him my needs and showed him the area. The installer came out and did a great job adding the fence and repairing some old posts that I also asked to have replaced. After the installation I noticed that the bottom of the added fence was very loose and small and medium size dogs could easily push themselves out. I asked Mills Fence to come back to add a bottom rail (bar) across the fence to tighten it up and make it harder to impossible for dogs to escape. They said bottom rails are not standard. I explained I did not know what was standard but had asked for a fence to make the area secure and felt like the bar was needed. They refused to add it without charging me for it. They sent me an estimate to add the bar for $250 but said I should just do it myself as the material was $15.

My 88 year old great grandma order a fence and they came to unload it and sent one guy with knee issues. We called to see why we didn’t get a second person to unload this and they told us the don’t unload it. We would have to do it ourselves.

This company is the worst Ive dealt with in my entire life. No communication whatsoever....unprofessional and shoddy workmanship. I called on numerous occasions to be told someone would call me right back...then they just ignore you. Ive had to threaten to take them to court...demanded a partial refund...and they still can only tell me how sorry they are....which is the only truth Ive heard from them in over 3 months. Sorriest company Ive ever dealt with.....so if you want a great fence...dont call Mills Fence.

This place is seriously a hidden gem. Its basically on outdoor warehouse of all different kinds of fencing. We were recommended to go here when we were looking for 3&1/2 vinyl fencing. They were literally half of the price of Lowes. Everything we bought their was cheaper and better quality in my opinion. All of the staff was incredibly friendly, even the CEO said hi to us as he walked by. They were able to answer all of our questions and even help us to find other parts that we had on order With Lowes that would have taken a couple of weeks to get in. My husband and I hight recommend this company! We will definitely be sending people their way. It was worth the 1 hour drive!

Ive had the same issues as others. I love the fence, but the communication from the office is awful. I had to call 5 times to find out when they were installing the fence. Was not told at any point that the gate could not be installed the same day (I have 4 dogs and one cannot be leash walked). I have a section of my old fence laying sideways blocking the opening where a gate should be. I called back 2 weeks later to find out when they would be installing the gate and was told it would be installed today. I havent heard from them yet letting me know they are on the way. HORRIBLE communication between the office and customers. The ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars is because the installers did a good job and the fence looks nice.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mills Fence Co. From my initial phone call to the very end of the job, everyone was so helpful, polite, and professional! Not only did they wait patiently, and hold the price quoted while I obtained a variance, but they also managed to expedite installation within a few weeks time when they learned I had broken my foot. Customer Service might be dead elsewhere but, believe me not at Mills Fence Co. I highly recommend them.

They damaged my already existing fence when they replaced my neighbors fence at 1245 Avon Drive. Our neighbor has called them many times, I have called many times, they keep passing the buck and are not returning my calls. They sent someone out two weeks ago to look at it and said they’d be back the next day to repair, and did not show up and will not return my calls. Mills, if you get this fixed ASAP I will take down this review.

Worst experience I have ever had with a company communicating to customers. We ordered a fence over two months ago. They wouldnt tell us an estimated install date until AFTER we put 50% deposit down. We got an email saying our estimated install week with strict instructions not to call them... because god forbid they actually have customer service. Fence is supposed to be installed this week and still no one has called. I just called them and they said someone will call this week. So Im supposed to drop my life on a dime so they can give me last minute notice on when they are coming? If they even come at all... COMPLETE BS. I highly regret using this company.

Horrible experience! We had used Mills previously and thought they were great. This time they were awful. We couldnt get in touch with the installer and it took 2 months to have him return our calls to schedule the installation. The installation itself was sub-par and required follow ups to fix the problems. Customer service was also horrendous! I never received a bill and got a phone call from them saying they were calling a lawyer because I never paid. It turns out they sent the invoice to am incorrect e-mail. They never sent it through the mail. After they sent the invoice through the mail, they started calling again after 3 days threatening with an attorney. Stay far, far away from this company!!!!!

If you are looking to pay full price for minimal effort, multiple mistakes and months of frustration, Mills Fence Co. is the place for you! Working with Mills was the worst customer experience of my life. The company is disorganized and unreliable. It took 3 months from the date I received the estimate to the date I had a fence I was finally happy with. The two day install took a month and 4 return visits to my house to fix their endless amount of mistakes. They ended up tearing out half of the fence and redoing it. The new installers said it was the worst job they have ever seen. In fewer words.. stay far away!

The schedule for the installation took a long time, and was changed twice. Within four months, we are beginning to see rust on the fence. We had to reinforce the gate ourselves because the material used was not as sturdy as wed thought. Seemingly, a lot of administrative red-tape.

I would never recommend this company. After we signed the contract and paid our $1,000, the customer service ended. It took over 6 months to get our fence up. They would never call or email us back. We tried to get a hokd of them for 6 weeks about our final invoice and no one would email or call us back. They finally did call us and threatened to send us to collections if we didnt pay. We have no problem paying our bills, but I do have a problem paying for delay after delay and terrible work. I am so glad to be done with this company and will never recommend them to anyone. Try EME if you are looking for someone. I know several people who have had good experiences with them.

If anyone actually reads these- please know I have NEVER posted a negative review of a company before, but I think this time its important for people to know what they are getting into.We had a very negative experience with this company. They lost or couldnt find my proposal on two occasions, delaying our installation by over 2 weeks. They insisted that I misheard or lied about a service which they said they would provide. They delayed our fence install 5 days prior to the time they should have come out, and when I called to cancel the order they acted as though this were no big deal. I would love to know their secret to running a business in which they need no business. I would never recommend this company.

We searched for weeks to find the best combination of a classic wrought-iron look along with an attractive solid privacy fence. Our criteria, both fences must complement each other in color as well as the style of our house, and while managing a twenty-seven degree slope along our property line. We chose the Ultra ornamental aluminum fencing along with SimTek’s Ashland series privacy fence. Both fence types are of very high quality, durable, maintenance-free, and complement our house style and color. Both fences are available through Mills Fence Company and both are made in the USA.Their new showroom allowed us to see each type, style, and color option. Selecting our fencing needs was a fairly easy process. Kyle explained the features of each fence type and answered every question. A few days later, Kyle measured the site accurately, quoted costs for materials and labor, and provided a tentative installation date.Although SimTek fencing is typically available within a short period, Ultra fencing is a special order requiring 3-4 weeks. Kyle kept us updated with our order and installation date. We were pleasingly surprised when our fencing arrived a week earlier than estimated. Our two-day installation was completed by skilled professionals who understood the product and the unique challenges with our property. They also cleaned up along the fence on our neighbor’s property. Within minutes of completion, we had numerous compliments from neighbors, many saying how the fence looks like it always belonged there. Our invoice arrived via email three days later, which we paid online through the Mills Fence website. This was our first ever fencing order and was a smooth process from ordering to installation to payment.We highly recommend Mills Fence Company in Cincinnati. A+++

This company damaged our clients driveway after we ordered materials. They were supposed to deliver to a certain address. They got the address mixed up as we were doing both neighbors fences. Thats somewhat understandable except the fact that when they went to drop the materials, they damaged two large sections of the homeowners driveway. We called and let them know about the issue but they were very rude and have not intention of resolving the issue. I have reached out to them several times and they do not respond. They do not use folk lifts to deliver, they just dump it in the yard. They do not care if they cause damage and are very rude. I have spent a lot of money there for materials in the past and would have in the future. Now I have to go the legal route with them. Not sure how they are still in business. Will post pictures soon! Hopefully they resolve the issue and fix the damages they created so I can take this down. Will keep this updated. I typically dont write reviews as I am in the construction field and know how some people can be, but this company is something else.

PLEASE READ!!!Monique Bourgoin shes the scheduling person who told me that I was getting my fence installed the first week of July 2016. After getting pushed back for weeks I called her several times leaving several voice messages (by the way she never picks up the phone, shes always somehow busy) my husband and I were going to cancel and go with another company.The installer finally called me on July 20th and told me hell be here the next day and that the job would only take 3 days. So we said ok fine.July 21st:The installer was super late coming to my house. He never called saying hey im running late or nothing. He did install the post for the fence then left.July 23:The day hes suppose to be done he came to install the back part of my fence finally. (My fence is connected with my neighbor fence by the way).July 25:Hes clearly behind schedule he finally almost has my fence up, but he doesnt install my door to get in and out of ( by the way I do have a dog). The installer told me hell be back to put the door on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Both days went by and I still didnt have a door. The installer never called me to say hey something came up. I had to call him up and ask for my damn door (Thursday). He told me hell be over Friday to put the door on.Today is Friday July 29th and still no sign of him. I called mills fence and of course they sent me over to Monique Bourgoin and of course she never picked up the phone nor called me back.I love the way the fence came out. But PLEASE!!!!! Save yourself the time and headache and go with another fence company!!! We wish we have. Its almost August and our fence is still not complete!!!

The driver couldnt get the wood off the truck. So he kept moving truck up till the wood fell off & dented both doors of my truck. Then I got the run around after getting estimates. Then to top it off they tried to take $400 off because I wanted the check made out to me instead of shop. Would never recommend them to anyone!
