If you like cheese this is the best place around. It’s a simple little shop that knows how to accommodate your needs. They also have nice little snacks if you are interested.

Friendly service and a nicely curated menu. Id like a bit more consistency in stock and supply, and the prices arent cheap, but they are in step or better than similar purveyors. Definitely worth a look when in the Village

You won’t find a better place to buy cheeses and other specialty items. Period. Been coming here since opening day and have never been disappointed. The selection and service are first class! The owners and staff members are knowledgeable and will guide you in your choices. You can sample cheese selections to make certain you get exactly what you want. Also, the cheese platters they’ll prepare for you are amazing. Love this store!

Great little cheese shop. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help people who dont know a lot about cheese, like myself, find some great cheeses for snacking and/or entertaining. Also, their house olive mix is fantastic. I recommend it to everyone.

First time cheese shopping, other than a grocery store. I Googled this place and read how friendly and teachable the staff was to newcomers to the craft of cheese eating. I explained from the start that I was cheese illiterate. I was never looked down upon for that, and I got a tour of cheese varieties by getting samples and explanations to the regions of the world and milk types that made these cheeses unique and selective. I asked the guy to help me put together a cheese grouping, of 4 or so, for a party that I was having in a few days and walked out of the store smiling from ear to ear. I came back the next day to grab these photos of my newest, favorite store.

This is truly a wonderful experience, wonderful staff and exquisite cheeses and accompaniments... And must visit in the Claremont Village

We Love this hiddn gem! Unique food and specialty items including imports. Cheese is their passion and the selection is varied with hard, semi-soft, soft and bries from all over. Super friendly customer service. In non-covid times, samples were always offered & store did have more items for sale, but understandably on a smaller scale right now. In Claremont Village.

Delicious cheeses, olives, and some meats like prosciutto. There are many other items available. Sort of reminds me of a delicatessen. Gruyere cheese is like $36/lb.

I was so very disappointed! 2-15-2020. Myself and my Gentleman Friend. (55 age group ) I took my e mail first to the address on the business card. The response was. We just serve the cheese and wine. (See photo) Beautiful ! But old whole table of 12. Sat and waited for 1 hour after paying . There were 3 employees working. Took the money FAST !! Serving, Preparing, Bottom line each of our sitting was $40. Per person. Missing itams on my / many plates, Water. And was told DIG IN. this was told 1& 1/2 hour after sitting, waiting for... What are we eating? How to Pair Wine with Cheese, Bre . Very over priced . Horrible experience. Kept asking. Where are my pickles, crackers, Meat, . To much asking for my $80. Experience

Reading the one star review from Valentines Day the other day is accurate, I was there. The response from the owner is the most selfish, disturbing and disgusting response. But also shows their character and what/who they care about. The person/owner who responded should be embarrassed with that response. Unbelievable. Lost another customer. Learn to be better over there and stop thinking of yourselves and talking down to people when you have no reason to. Be better humans. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This place gets high ratings for a reason, excellent curated products and customer service! It has been so convenient to have such a wonderful place to order my cheeses and pantry items from. I know whatever I select will be the best. I pre-order once a week and it is seamless! Thank you to Marni and Jacob for being there for Claremont and the surrounding communities during the pandemic!

We stopped in on our way from LA to Pioneertown and loaded up for the evening’s cheese spread. Their Covid practices are top-notch and high-tech (text when order is ready, can pay by smartphone before arriving) and service and suggestions are wonderful. But above all that, we had the most perfect Manchego ever offered. Normally we consume cheese with requisite accoutrements—crackers, fruit, honey, nuts—but any pairing would have taken away from the complete, complex, and ambrosial flavor. I’m still dreaming about it and can’t wait for my next stop into the cave.

Absolutely horrible experience. My husband and I walked up and saw the sign that only 4 people allowed as it is a small store. So we waited and a person came out. We both stepped in real quick and were immediately told by a man in a condescending way, that only one more person was allowed as that would make it 5 people if we both went in. We understood so we both waited outside. While we waited, the same man came out and asked everyone in line waiting if we were there for pickup orders, we all said no. He then, in the same condescending tone, told us all to move. There is no sign or any direction for lines so we all kind of felt talked down to and that was frustrating. It was finally time for my husband and I to go in. Not 3 seconds after we did, a woman walks in right after us and goes straight to the counter and is talking away with another worker. So that makes 5 PEOPLE. We waited to see if any of the workers were going to please ask her to step outside as it is now too many people, same reason we got kicked out for. Nope. We were so disgusted that we chose to leave and take our business elsewhere. Its Valentines Day and this was extremely disappointing. My husband did say something to one of the workers who then stated oh shes just picking something up Um. No. Thats exclusivity and allowing people you know or are regulars break your rules and make everyone else feel slighted and unwelcome. Trader Joes has better customer service and alot more selection for these items. Small businesses run on customer service and this place was horrible.

If i was stuck on a Island, id eat cheese from The Cheese Cave. Currently owner is prohibiting any guests to enter the establishment. One can order online or call and verbally order, as I did. My order was ready to be picked up in 1 hour. They send you a text notifying you when the order is ready, one can pay online or in person. I will be back. Thank you Cheese Cave. 🧀

Awesome customer service and savory cheeses, wines, jams etc etc.

Ive always been fond of this shop for the friendly staff and high quality of cheeses and cured meats. But what really impressed me was the Cheese Caves contact-free curbside pickup service during the COVID-19 outbreak, which wasnt just for cheese but also pantry staples and fresh, local produce boxes. Its an efficient and safe system of ordering food in advance, paying online and picking up the order. The staff are very responsible and try their best to keep the customers safe. They really care about what goes in the produce boxes too, and the contents are a little different each week. Thank you Cheese Cave for offering this service for the Claremont community!

Never disappointed. I have learned that the cheeses I love are seasonal and so I have been introduced to new ones as the seasons change. After a while the staff begins to know my tastes and can anticipate what I might like. If I ask for A and it is not in, then B is offered and my tastes are broadened.During this COVID19 pandemic they have been so helpful to fulfill my needs and do it safely.

Came here with my girlfriend and an employee walked out and rather than asking if we needed assistance or that he’ll be happy to help us in a moment, he asked us to back up to make room for the person that was there to pick up their order. After helping him, he disappeared so we just left.

This place sells an excellent selection of locally and/or ethically sourced products ranging from cheese, alcohol, chocolate, hot sauce, etc. Definitely come by on Fridays since its the only day they serve grilled cheese. My favorite food of all time is grilled cheese so my bar is set high. This grilled cheese was by far, the best Ive ever had.

Huge selection of cheeses, knowledgeable and helpful staff. You can sample the cheese. Not inexpensive, but decent value. Small but quality selection of wines, from which the staff will offer recommendations. Fun place to visit.

The young lady who assisted me was helpful, friendly and professional. The Comte and Rochefort cheeses I bought were of high quality. And I enjoyed selecting the gift items from this quaint cheese shop in this village. It’s a place worth visiting again and again.

We stopped in on a whim looking for light lunch ideas. We chose a Goat Gouda that was super. We also chose some crackers that were totally the bomb, Raincoast Fig and olive crisps. Cant wait to visit again next trip.

We hired Marnie at The Cheese Cave to create cheese boards for our wedding of 120 people. I wish I had taken a few pictures of the board as it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The selection of meats, jams, and cheese made it unique and fun! The Cheese Cave is one of my favorite stores. Obviously they have cheese, but they also have meats, wine, beer, olive oil, crackers, jams, honey, and many other things. If you like gourmet food then the Cheese Cave is a place you should not miss.

An excellent selection of cheeses; from stinky and powerful to mild and even tropical, the staff here knew their cheese and had excellent recommendations even for the uninitiated. Prices were reasonable too. Definitely worth a visit if looking to score something new / different

Cheese Cave is my favorite shop in the Claremont village! They have a variety of health foods including raw dairy products; milk and cheese! They have sheep, goat, and cow cheeses! The crew @ the cave are always happy to share knowledge with you on any of the products as well! I always come here to get my Claravale Farms Raw Milk.

Theyre so helpful there and have a wonderful selection of cheese, chocolates, olive oils, and extras. I go there for lunch sandwiches often and end up leaving with soup, sandwiches, 3-4 cheeses, and more. Ha.

First time visiting, but it was great. Loved the premade cheese box. It comes with three different cheeses, and for a couple more dollars you can add the meats as well. The cashier Jacobe was very nice and helped round out the entire experience.

This review is long overdue since Ive been a very happy customer ever since they opened a few years back. Their cheese selection is nothing short of divine and their cheese classes are something else! Just love that they are truly passionate and knowledgeable about cheese and other fine foods. Their suggested pairings with mustard, honey, jam, wine, beer... are always a hit and a revelation. If youve never had the creamy St Angel or Ewephoria sheep cheese or my all time favorite Etivaz, you havent lived!

So much to enjoy, especially the Honey Caramels with Sea Salt, you must go !!😍

Unfortunately I did not know about the Cheese Cave until my senior year at Claremont McKenna. If youre into cheese, this is the place for you. While you are going to pay a bit of a premium, the selection is fabulous and the staff are very helpful. All in all, the Cheese Cave is one of the hidden gems of Claremont in my opinion and I encourage you to stop on by.
