My son and I stopped to look at few guns. I ended up buying me aTP9 Elite SC w/12rd Mag 9mm. 3.5BBL shield optic.This is a great gun ladies I usually get ambidextrous guns and a safety. But this gun I found to have a few other features that where selling points. Its easy to shoot with either hand., recoil no problem Etc. The salesman Mr. JOE this time was great and very helpful. I plan to take a personal class he teaches. Come by check this store out.

As soon as I walked in I was helped immediately. I left a rifle to get my tax stamp engraving. Paperwork got mixed up but they made sure everything was fixed, done properly and waited for me to come back before making any decisions on the mix up.I love rating places not just on how well they do when things go right. But to me its more important on how staff reacts when things go wrong. In this case the owner and staff were very professional and made sure everything else went great and the owner even handled it personally. Would highly recommend this place you will not be dissapointed.Fair price, great selection and knowledgeable. I will be a reapeat customer for sure.

This is the best gun store this side of Raleigh. The employees behind the counter are so knowledgeable, polite and makes everyone that comes in feel comfortable. The owner Rob always seems to make it a point to speak to every single shopper. Highly recommend this gun store and I’m not easily impressed :)

I cant say enough about this store. I moved to the area about 3 years ago and Ive been coming here ever since. Im actually mad at myself for taking so long to leave a review. Rob (the owner) is fantastic. He generally finds time to chit chat with me and the wife when they arent extremely busy. Its easy to see just how passionate he is about his store and the customers when you talk with him. Recently Ive been doing a lot of AR builds, (I believe his name is Jeremy) has always done an amazing job at fine tuning my builds and safety checks. Highly recommend them for gunsmithing. Minor stuff he can usually knock out in less than an hour. Even with the big run on guns, they always have a pretty large selection to choose from. Their ammo prices are spot on considering the shortage. I know because Ive practically hit every store within a 100 mile radius. Id like to do some more employee shout outs, but unfortunately Im not that great with names. But what I can say is theyre all great! Always friendly, always helpful, always a fun atmosphere. Collectively these guys probably have about a thousands years of knowledge. The basic store run down... they have a full wall of holsters for every possible make/model, ar parts, grips, scopes/sights, mags, tripods, etc. Pretty much any little thing you may need. But they also have a finger print station if youre trying to get a silencer! (this pretty much streamlines the process. And is something I will be using very soon.) Lastly they also have an engraving/art station. Awesome spot to customize your gun/mags or whatever your heart desires. (Again, something Ill be trying in the future.) So check them out! And if you happen to be a new/first timer... dont be afraid to ask a million questions. These guys know their stuff! Good selection considering most other gun stores have less in stock than I have personally. Great folks to deal with and had a much better ammo selection than any other shops around. Also I did not see any over inflated prices like Ive been seeing online and at other retailers.They promptly assisted me with all my suppressor questions and made the process much easier than I expected.

This place is my favorite rifle shop because of the excellent customer service and the wide variety of what is in stock. I have gotten everything from a mas 36, mas 49/56 all the way to a keltec sub2000. This is a great place for surplus and new firearms.

The employees were nice and there was a decent selection of firearms and NFA items with very fair prices.It was a little crowded and busy when I went so it took an awful long time to make a purchase for some mags. The place also seemed unorganized. There were random completed and incomplete 4473s laying around on the counters w people’s socials and info, random customers’ rifles and scopes also laying around on the counters as well as random BCGs, handguards and other furniture. At one point, a customer asked to see a firearm and then the employee took it out for him to handle it and the employee immediately walked away. The firearm sat on the counter unattended for a while after the customer was done looking at it.Get it together, guys.

This is one of my favorite gun shops in the area. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Not only did they have 9mm ammo in stock, they didn’t have the 1 box per customer rule that every other gun shop I’ve called has had, because they’ve got the stock to sell. Can’t bash any other gun shop for trying to keep it fair when 9mm pricing has gone up and stock has gone down since so many people are stocking up on ammo during the pandemic. It’s just nice I found someplace by just driving by that I guess is either a little less busy so they have the stock, or some magical inventory person that gets it and gets it consistently.Either way, they treated me nice, they had a whole wall of ammo where he listed off all different brands and prices, (I went with 2 100 round boxes of Federal), and it was a cool enough little shop. I’ll be back if my main gun shop on 70 is out of 9mm like they were at that time during the day and get some more.

I walked in took about 3 minutes for someone to greet me. I looked around was in there for about 5 minutes not one person asked could they help me so I walked out and left. Customer service is TRASH at Clayton guns!! Actully ended up making a purchase at Fuquay Guns and Gold where I was greeted at the door and then asked could I be helped! Customer service go a long way. The ones giving more than 1 star must be regulars or shop there often. If I could I wouldnt give them 1 star!

What can I say about Clayton guns? Well the employee’s are professional and the owner it’s really awesome. They have a great variety of guns and are fairly priced. The employee’s are really awesome and they even joke with while you are looking at their inventory. Overall I love this place and I have bought a couple of guns from them. After picking up my permit from the sheriffs office in Smithfield, I stopped in to possibly purchase a firearm from them. I stayed in the store for about 5-10 minutes. They had one customer ahead of me. There were 4 people behind the counter, and a woman sitting at a computer. Not one employee spoke to me. If they were busy doing things I understand, however good customer service means you acknowledge a person coming in, maybe saying “I’ll be with you in a minute” or “as soon as we can”.....or something! Since no one even acknowledged my existence, I left and later gave my 800.00 to Fuquay Gun and Gold. Also, after reading the comment concerning the man who wrote all in caps, and this company’s response....very inappropriate for a business. I advise not coming here. They obviously don’t know a thing about customer service.

Stopped in today and purchased a handgun for family defense. It was a smooth process and the fellas there were very patient and helpful. They know a lot about various firearms! Great service

Not a good first impression of this place. Was there 10 minutes and only got glares or unfriendly looks from the employees and regulars. In those 10 minutes 2 people walked in the door with firearms in their hands, guy with a long gun had it by the muzzle with it pointed at the ceiling, not so bad. The other person had a pistol in his had with an extended magazine in the well. Neither had the breech locked open nor were either of them stopped or checked by the store employees. They were simply left to wait in line for service at the counter. I Ieft as soon as the door was clear. Not sure if the 2 individuals were store employees or affiliates but it seemed like a huge red flag to me. For the time I was there and the items I looked at I was not impressed with the price point of the products nor the customer relations

Great place to purchase protection, these folks were very busy and still took the time to answer all my questions and even helped me load up my purchases in my car. Very very curtious and professional. And great selection and Prices. Keep up the great work.

They are taking full advantage of the ammo shortage. They are currently charging 37$ for a box of 9mm. I cant recommend anywhere that is willing to price gouge that bad.

Terrible customer service, i’ll start off with every time I come through the door and stand at the counter no one asks me if I need anything it takes at least 10 minutes of me sitting there before anybody will even acknowledge me.Next I spoke with the store owner Rob about doing some work for me so I’ll bring my parts in on 06/19/2020 rob tells me it will be done the very next day to come pick it up then. I go to the next day and it’s not ready long story short two weeks later he still has not even touched any of my parts. I go to the store today after making daily contact with him having to call three or four times a day just to get him to answer and he has still not touched my gun parts. Every time I call he makes up excuses And tells me it will be done tomorrow when I call the next day it’s never done.Last thing I’m going to say is his ammo prices are high.

Don’t go anywhere else, these guys are phenomenal. Can’t say enough about their expertise and professionalism. I look forward to my next repair!

From helping me find the correct parts for my first AK build to actually building the AK with me hands-on was an experience I will be forever grateful for. I came in today, after contacting them via phone asking a few questions. Once, I arrived I was greeted by the owner. I did not expect the amazing customer service, I gotten today from the staff. The owner was extremely helpful, and spent so much time helping me picking out the perfect firearm. In addition, to getting me the right holster as well. We tried many firearms and holster, and he found the perfect match for me. Educating, and giving me a variety to chose from. It was NOT about money with these individuals. Guys are always helpful, $15 transfer is not bad at all. The silencer shop kiosk was super convenient. Extremely friendly even when they are busy, always there to help! Even though it’s a bit of a drive to get there, I refuse to go anywhere else!!

Went here just to take a look around and have to say these guys were some of the nicest people I have ever met. They took the time to see what I needed and gave me pros and cons to the item I was thinking about buying. Other shops will try and sale you the most expensive item and stack up the pros to it where these guys gave me both sides and let me decide. Will continue to do business with this great gem.

I was in that neck of the woods and stopped by today to look for a new holster for an old revolver that my dad had handed down to me about 20 years or so ago. Mine broke earlier today. I was shopping in Smithfield with the wife and Googled, gun stores near me. I didn’t know about this place. These guys were awesome to me and my 12 yr old daughter. My wife and younger daughter stayed in the car as this was only going to take a ‘minute’. I didn’t want to leave. They took a lot of interest in us, my gun, it’s history, and the maintenence it deserved. I ended up leaving it there for them to go through it for me. Plus they have a lot of AR mods, etc that I’m interested in. I look forward to going back!

I would say this is hands down, the best gun store in the area! Every time I go there they are extremely friendly, unlike most gun stores I visit.

Passing through NC and saw Clayton Guns and decided to stop to try and get some information. Although they were busy Rob took the time to answer my questions and I was really impressed with his knowledge. While there I asked if he had time for some quick gunsmithing, he did and performed a great job. Definitely check them out!!!

Nothing but great experiences here! Three out of three times I have called this place looking for a part no one else had but they did. The best part is it is only a few miles down the road from me. 7/6/18 Went in here to buy my first pistol about a month ago. I waited to write my review to see if I was still pissed about my experience a month later and yep, I still am. Went in here shortly after opening one Tuesday morning. Super excited because I was there to buy. There were 2 associates behind the counter helping 2 gentlemen that were together. I came in and immediately started looking at the pistols. I literally stood at the counter 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my presence. The other customer they were helping wasnt in such need of help that it required both associates to begin with. One of the guys finally asked me how I was doing. I told him I was fine and asked how he was. He gave some witty response about finer than frogs eyelashes or something lame like that. That was it. Never asked if I needed any help, if I wanted to see anything or anything to that effect. Little did these clowns know I had $400 cash and my permit in my pocket. I stood there another 5 minutes or so before I finally walked out. So 25 total minutes spent in your store and the employees never asked if I needed anything. What a huge waste of time. All you guys had to do was say how can I help you? And I wouldve been the easiest sale of the day. I already knew what I wanted but Im not going to beg someone to sell me a pistol. Instead, due to ignorance or just laziness, another local business got my money. This particular business greeted me as soon as I walked in. Little things like being acknowledged make all the difference in the world guys.***EDIT*** 7/25/18 The owner responded to my review in a very professional and concerned manner. I live just down the road from Clayton Guns. Normally I shop online for everything to find the best deal, coupon, or cash back from Ebates. But I went here and found the cheapest price from the start. And what better place to find it than your local dealer down the street where they remember your name and not the big box store. I got my SR556 from there and now that me and my wife got our CCP Im taking my wife to get a new hand gun. Id say you cant get any better!Jimmy Smith

I came into this shop just browsing and rob greeted me after talking to him I asked him I was looking for a 1911 Nickol finish gun. He took the time to help my out and order the gun himself. The customer service was amazing I got my gun in 3 days but it was scratched from the vender. Rob reorder the gun for me and I picked it up today and I love my gun. I will most definitely be going back to buy somthing bigger thanks rob your team is great.

First started in November 2017.. Called shop to ask if they had a certain gun for me to purchase for my husband for Christmas. The owner said they did not have the gun I wanted, but he could purchase the gun online for me at a discounted price. So he told me he was going to purchase the gun and I would could come in the following Tuesday to pick up gun and pay in full. I went to shop Tuesday, for the owner to tell me he completely forgot to order the gun. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he found the same gun a little more than the original price. He went a head and ordered the gun and told me he would call me when it arrived. A couple of weeks later, I never received a phone call. I called shop they said they would be getting gun in on such and such day. So I went to shop the day they told me. When I got to shop they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. I got frustrated and said never mind and left the shop. As I was getting in the car, they ran out and said they had the gun I purchased. I went back into store. They opened up the gun and there was 1 magazine missing from the order. I was getting more frustrated. They told me they would order me 2 more magazines and would call me when they received them. So Christmas came, I gave the gun to my husband. Told him I was waiting on a phone call from the gun shop for 2 magazines. It is now March 2018, I called a week ago. They said they never received the magazines. For me to call back the next day to remind him to order the magazines. I then told him to not worry about the magazines and to just give us a gun holster instead. The owner agreed to this. I went the next day to pick up gun holster. They once again acted like they didnt know what I was talking about. After explaining etc, We finally left with our gun holster. I am so thankful we are done dealing with that shop. Extremely poor customer service. The owner never acted apologetic. I highly recommend not to purchase anything from this shop.This CLAYTON GUN SHOP should not even get ONE STAR.

Came in to install some CZ sights. Sights were pretty dead on and great price for installation.

The customer service is way above what I have experianed at other gun shops. The owner, Rob, took the time to teach me, step by step, how to assemble by bag of parts into an AR-15 right there in the shop. They offer services in gun smithing, NFA purchase assistance for SBRs and Suppressors, custom paint jobs on firearms, and if you cant find it in the store they will get it for you. Also, the shop is closed on Mondays and I was going to leave a message on the answering machine but Rob picked up and talked to me on his day off. Prices on firearms seem pretty good in comparison with other stores. If you miss that personal one on one feeling at your big box store come give Rob and his team a chance.
