I had a very bad experience today with the cashier . I go every morning, but maybe today she was not having a good day. She is an older lady. She works every morning. She almost had me in tears. As much as I loved coming here, I will no longer be shopping here. I had my 2 year old son with me as well. We will be taking our business to shop rite.
We love stop and shop. Always good for fresh foods. Fresh flowers and produce they also have a good daily soup bar and hot meal bar. But we buy alot of organic. It does cost alittle more but its grown right. Stop and shop recently has been exspensive lately as prob all other stores as well but i think stop and shop has the best high quality deli meats and regular meats always find a good steak and seafood i really have no complaints u need a nice birthday cake custom made just go ask at the counter thell hook u up. My fav food store
They are moving the shelves around again. I guess we werent doing enough impulse buying. They are also changing the aisle signs so that you cant read them from across the store. No, you have to walk very close to read the sign straight on - gotta encourage those impulse buys. And I swear they have more junk items and fewer basic staples for those of us who actually cook from scratch instead of heating up some chemical/preservative laden box of refined garbage.
Decent store, but the scales in the self-checkout area are glitchy and annoying to use.
The changing of the stores interior aisles is not helpful in the least. Salad dressing is in the same aisle as TP, makes no sense. Go elsewhere, cant wait for big Y
So when I approach the gas station the only pump open is on the right side of my truck. I turned around to back in and some loudmouth girl comes out waving her hands and running behind my truck then starts to yell at me about waiting my turn. No one was there!
It’s called the self checkout for a reason. I’m not sure why you’ve told an associate to stand half an inch away from people and berate them for not using a membership card. I’ll be going to Shop-rite in the future.
Beautiful clean store. Well stocked.
Its ok. Not great prices. Not great selection. The curbside pickup is convenient but they often dont find things in the store that are right on the shelf where they belong.
Good clean store with helpful employees. Food is clean, fresh, and decently priced. Lines are never bad when I go during the week. Peoples bank is also wonderful, open 7 days/week and there is one in almost every single stop & shop which is super convenient!Edit: Peoples Bank is the worst. cost me a fortune due to employees who do not know policy.
Best Stop & Shop around !I always find what I am looking for! Never shop at Madison Stop and Shop. They are dirty never have any thing. And they are blocking Disability people from getting in and out of the store safety because they dont care about the customers Clinton Stop & Shop Is the Best !!!!100 percent does and . There employee and management are Great!😀 Love Shopping in At Clinton Stop & Shop
I hate to say it, but I think my continuous experiences with an employee here at stop and shop is enough to make me change my main grocery store to Shop Rite! Not only was this employee rude to customers, she was also extremely rude to her fellow employees. I barely caught her name, I believe it was Holly or something like that, but what I did catch was her constant negative attitude towards people that deserve only respect! Due to her horrid behavior, I will no longer be supporting a company that employs dictionary-definition bullies into what seems like an important position!!! I hope management realizes that they need to retrain if not remove such horrible people before they continue to lose paying customers such as myself!!
I just wanted to leave this review to save you guys the trouble and let you know ShopRite is way better.
They dont enforce masks at the entrance and a few employees dont wear masks. I should have taken pictures. Shelves are stocked for staples but it most certainly should make responsible people think twice about going there.Update: In response to S&S reply: Your PR dept can say they are doing this and that but the real test is what people actually see and experience when they walk through your doors isnt it? You can say you have rules but unless management enforces them what difference does it make? Its not the first time Ive seen your employees stocking produce with either their mask not covering their nose, around their chin or completely off (other S&S stores including Clinton have this problem as well). Your brand is not the only one. Shop Rite of Clinton has the same exact issues. We all are sick and tired of this pandemic but its not going anywhere anytime soon and more than anything its imperative you and all stores enforce their rules for both employees and patrons with not exceptions. We can avoid certain situations and scenarios but we cant avoid getting food and essentials for our families. So like it or not the enforcement falls squarely on your shoulders.I know you all think It couldnt happen to me and are saying he needs to chill but I quote the last words of 30 year old who didnt take it seriously and felt it not necessary to wear a mask: I think I made a mistake.Dont be a casualty of stupidity!
I enjoy shopping Here as much as big Y
The store is well stocked and kept clean. The aisles are well labeled.
The store is clean all the time. The employees are very nice and very helpful. I love this store
Very happy with the service and quality of all the products
Decent, wish that the frozen chicken wasnt always empty though.
We found everything on our lists. Check out was spaced. Everone was wesring masks. It was good.
Tasteful foods everyone can be found.
We shopped at the Clinton, CT Stop & Shop this morning. Among the items we purchased were 3 cartons of Canada Dry ginger ale in cans and 1 package/bunch of asparagus. The total cost seemed higher than we expected.Upon returned home, we checked the sales slip. The cashier had charged us for each of the three cartons at a cost of $7.29 each plus state deposit tax. The soda ailse had advertised the price as Buy 2 and get another free. In addition we were charged for 2 bunches of asparagus.I returned to the store and received a $10.52 refund. The clerk apologized for the inconvenience but I wonder how many others, who purchased soda today may have paid more than they should have.
It’s called SELF checkout for a reason. If I’m in need of assistance I will ask, but please don’t come up to myself and everyone else every two seconds and try and help them. Very annoying. If I wanted help with my groceries I would’ve gone to that particular check out.
Clean and well stocked. If you prefer self checkout, this store is very convenient because there are over 8 self checkout kiosks. Get the app and save more money!
I had a good experience every one was polite and helpful
The worker r people friendly and the customers who shop there r so awesome
I have been coming to this location in Clinton for the past 7 years. Ever since the strike, it has gone way down hill. Seems the few employees they have are getting paid more but doing less work. They paid thousands of dollars for an unnecessary robot that just gets in peoples way while they shop. They should have bought another cheese slicer for the deli. One cheese slicer and 3 meat slicers. That doesnt make sense. Also, Please have the person roasting chickens take the tie string off! That is just pure laziness. It appears as though they are trying to go more automation than hiring people who need jobs. Too many self checkouts and not enough real checkers and baggers. Im sorry but if they want to compete with their local competitors, they need to hire real people and not robots.
Tattoed guy behind the seafood counter was unhelpful and unfriendly. Overall I also prefer the vibe in Shoprite.
Good,i like the renovation
Great store
Quality food. watermelons were high for small size. Only one register open. Asked at service desk for a. Powerball. Got an apology. On the way out, noticed a lottery machine and wasnt told about it. You wouldnt notice it on your way out. Should have been told at the service counter.
Its okay, the bakery is the best thing about the store. Nice and friendly. Love the self checkout area but not the lady overseeing it not very friendly and always taking a smoke break when I happen to be walking out. Id like to check out without people being so overly watchful. Its beyond obvious especially when you shop there often. Prefer going to Shoprite.
Very well organized and they have good amount of organic grocery as well. Shopping in evening can be challenging as they lines get really long sometimes.
Still have high prices
Dont go to the coffee self serve coffee machine. Not only did it eat my dollar it was so watered down I regretted not stopping by dunkin donuts. Then I got the latte because first coffee was so bad. Latte was terrible also. Not coming back! This is by far one of the worst grocery store experiences iv had. Nothing special here.
I need to pee and didnt find a bathroom
One of the worst s&s in the area. If you want anything from meat or seafood on the weekend after noon good luck. Both departments are C- on a good day.
Just an older supermarket, in a small blue collar town. Nothing leaps out to make you enthusiastic about shopping here. It covers all of the basics well, but........
The usual quality of Stop & Shop in most departments is very good, as is the range of product brands, however, the take & go food area needs work, supervision, or oversight. A chopped salad w/hard-boiled egg, some pathetic carrot shards, ratty chicken pieces, and browned, wilted lettuce was a waste of money. Difficult to see the contents in these containers; the egg was the only edible piece. Go to Roberts in Killingworth - the difference in quality & variety is amazing. Very disappointed in S & S. (A response from the store was immediately received and that is excellent customer service. Thank you! Will try again!)
Produce not reliable
Website reads closes at 10. Have gone there several times and the doors are locked at 20 of ten.
Great customer service pretty much every time I go. The store is always clean and the fresh produce quality is great
Ok for pre- packaged goods. Not a big fan of their produce.
Customer service at the self checkout could be improved.
It is a great local grocery store and the staff that works there go out of their way to be helpful. Always a pleasure to shop there.
The quality of the produce is better than others in the area. Like other grocery stores I find you have be careful with sales and make sure you pay as advertised, etc. But they are very friendly if there is ever a discrepancy.
Good prices and they have seemed to have recovered from the strike
A place to get all your fresh foods.
Dirty and messy recycling room. Ordered rare roast beef at deli and there was nothing rare and they wouldnt open a new one for me.
Clean store, decent customer service, prices are a bit higher than other stores but they have the largest variety of groceries as far as multiple brands of the same type of item.
Bring your own bags, go see a cashier to checkout & they will bag your groceries! Just steer clear of the wretched 🤖 robot 😜
I just wish, as a 60 year old single woman who lives alone as so many seniors do, that ONE of these chains would erect a supermarket small enough so you dont have to walk miles and miles and miles. The isle signage is lousy insofar as its different from the rear from the front, forcing people to walk around in circles fot OBVIOUS reasons. Most people know exactly what they want, especially the elderly. Can there be a mini Stop & Shop PLEASE? Could there be a Small Y supermarket? Can these chains make smaller quantities for purchase so people like me dont throw away half of what we buy because we were forced to purchase packages quantities too large to consume before its no longer edible? Believe me! I am certainly NOT alone with this opinion, at all.
Some good sale prices. Clean and organized store with plenty of friendly and helpful associates.
Good price nice place to shop for food and drinks
Easy to find everything
Good prices...fresh produce...good selection of store-made sandwiches and dinners.
Love the little scanners you can bring around the store with you. The prices are fair, but honestly the scanners are the best part.
The Clinton store had stocked shelves.
Good place to shop.
Very good at clean ups that customers make
Its stop and shop.
Huge and clean and cheap. Can recycling center is busted out Id give it 5 stars
Only grocery I use
Fantastic local shopping!
Its alright. The organic section is a little smaller than that of other stop and shops. I prefer East hampton and old saybrook over clinton. But it gets the job done.
Good variety. However you pay for that wide selection in higher prices.
Good store with wide selection but very poor seafood department.
Very good groceries fresh
Clean place ! Good prices
Super overpriced, which gets even worse in the summer months when out-of-towners arrive. Not very clean. For my money, I would rather hop on 95 and head to the Big Y in Old Saybrook.
Good selection, prices.
I fing Stop & Shop to be expensive, but there is Peoples Bank there which is convenient.
Not as clean as it once was. Not enough cashiers on. EVER!
My same sandwich like a month ago was not done well like before.
Good selection of food .
Good produce.. meats
Awesome! Maureen is the best!
Over priced..zshop Rite much better
I love stop and shop
Clean and people are nice
Never enough cashiers or baggers, those that are there are really nice people. Prices have been increasing.
Clean and well stocked
Great choicesHigher prices
A good grocery store
Basic yet organized grocery store
Never can find small carts.....
Great store
No Beyond Beef burgers
As expected.
Classic Stop & Shop, will have what you need.
Feels like an older store

Large grocery store with everything you need.
Great deli
