I wouldnt dine again because I dont want to sit on there benches. If you stop by you will see why. I would still go in to buy some bagels though. My sandwich was delicous as well as the soup. I dont think there special is much of a steal though. ..

A staple of CP breakfast for decades. Always great service, fresh bagels and good coffee. Good price and selection make it hard to beat for a quick bite before work.

Normally love this place. However, I went with my friend for lunch today - got there at 2:20, and the cashier was talking to her coworkers loudly saying “It should be illegal for customers to come order food within 30 minutes of closing.” Mind you, they close at 3. We were getting it to go, so it wasn’t like we were sitting down to eat. They also gave us attitude about customizing our bagel, like it was too much to ask. Plus our orders came out wrong. If you’re going to complain about customers, at least do it quietly.

All I can say is I LOVE the Bagel Place and as a small business, I encourage anyone that LOVES a delicious bagel or a café drink to stop by for a visit. The staff is always friendly (mostly UMD students) and the bagels are always fresh and super tasty, plus they have their own brand of cream cheeses!!! YUM!!!!😋

About two days ago, (receipt shows by 1055 am Sunday March 15 2020), my husband and I obtained some food from Bagel Place in College Park Maryland. My husband chose the Grilled Chicken sandwich which comes with Caesar dressing, onions bacon and pumpernickel bagel with birch beer drink while I choose the Pride of Baltimore sandwich that comes with smoked salmon onion cream cheese swiss cheese on a garlic bagel with Miss Vickie’s bbq chips and a birch beer. I also got some cinnamon sugar bagels to have at a later time and some day old bagels (some type of sesame seed). The employee interacting with us was cheery/had a pleasant demeanor and luckily I was in a position to pay for the food. My amazing husband obtained/purchased some chicken soup and some bacon and scallion cream cheese, scallion cream cheese, and some walnut and raisin cream cheese to have with our day old bagels for the flavor.

A College Park institution. Great bagels, sandwiches, fresh brewed ice tea. They also have a coffee bar. It can get busy at times. Current hours are 630 AM, to 3 PM.

Lol the bagels are really good. Closest you can get to a NYC bagel while south of the Mason Dixon line. The service is an exciting grab bag of nonsense. Will my bagel be cut this time? Will I have to put on the cream cheese myself again? I can always find out if it was toasted after I take it home! The surprises never end and always seem to get more creative, its almost out of a Dr Seuss book. Yet I will keep on coming for the delicious bagels AND the surprisingly entertaining service (or lack thereof?) !

Best breakfast bagels around, period! I would come here every day if I could, the food is just good eats. Freshly made bagels every day, and theres soo many varieties to choose from. They make there own cream cheeses and have great lunch options as well!

Absolutely best bagel spot in town. Ive eaten here tons of times over the past few years and its always been exactly what I need. Bagels are excellent, tons of sandwich options, and their coffee is super good too. Everything is really well priced. The pizza bagels are wild, gotta try those. Theres tons of vegetarian options too (not sure about vegan)In context of COVID, I think this place is doing really well at keeping their customers safe (Im one of those never-dine-inside types right now). They have a really easy to use online ordering form, and you can even save your name/card info to order suuuuper fast the next time (trust me there will be a next time), and then you just walk in and theyve got it ready. Super easy. You dont have to be inside for long

US Masters Swimming UMD go here weekly after practice on Saturday. Quite popular bagels are not bad. Im from NYC and lived for years on H&H bagels weekly these are a fine substitute.

I ordered a jalapeño bagel with bacon egg and cheese online and when i got home and checked the bagel it was just a plain bagel.

This place has the HORRIBLE customer service. they charged me 3 times (!) the price of the 2 plain bagels that i had bought but i didnt realize it at the time, so i called them to see what was up. not only was the man who came on to the phone (manager?) incredibly rude and condescending, he also refused to listen to me at all and essentially told me too bad. they stole my money and refused to give it back, so i will never ever come to this place again.

So it was my first time there, I ordered the Student pack which is 6 bagels with cream cheese & I asked for them to be warm. Apparently when you order “Fresh” bagels there’s a fee to warm them up which they told me after I paid. For my first time there which I let them know doesn’t seem like they’re interested in retaining business. The cashier was nice the lady in the back not so much. I’ll be taking my business to Bagels n Grinds up the street where they don’t give you cold “FRESH” bagels or charge you to warm them up when they aren’t so fresh.

Customer service is terrible, the short blond girl on the register has a nasty temperament and lacks customer service tack. I will never return to this store because of the way I was spoken to. The manager and owner did nothing to solve my discomfort as a customer. Disgusting.

Im not a fan of bagels so Im real picky when I eat them. I also think bagel sandwiches are mess and fall apart halfway through. Well this place is supremely on point. Their bagel recipe is a great consistency. The frozen coffee drinks are well made. I was looking for a new coffee place and this place is definitely it. I even liked the eggs and Im real weird about eggs being made right. Definitely a satisfying experience everytime Ive visited.

This place is really good. Bf and I shared the bagel pizza. Its huge! It was very good. I liked the sauce. Got a chicken salad for my dad and he said it was good. Nice employees. Very fast service for the cold sandwich. The pizza took a bit, but it was hot so understandable. Definitely want to try some other options.

A College Park staple, this place has outlasted several corporate chains trying to muscle it out. Fresh bagels in a myriad of styles go perfectly with their homemade cream cheeses. I have been getting the Pride of Baltimore on Old Bay for years. I hope this place never goes away. Side note; avoid this place on a Saturday morning when school is in session, unless waiting in a long line full of hungover college kids is your idea of a good time.

Staff is friendly, prices are good, great muffins (always fresh). However for a place called Bagel Place, their bagels are Meh at best, the flavor is there, but they are always so soggy, I have tried toasted with scallion, not toasted with plain, egg and cheese, etc. But they are always, for some reason, so soggy... However, I keep coming back, I started calling them a MD style Bagel. On the bright side, their pizza bagels are great! a must try when having a bad a day and not caring about calories count :)

Inarguably the best Bagel shop Ive ever been, and I LOVE bagels. Ive visited tons of places looking for an Egg Bagel(a proper, quality Egg Bagel), and could never find one that was any good.Well, here it is. Smell, texture, taste, everything is perfect. They are absolutely astounding at their craft. The Bagel Place knows what theyre doing.Great service, surprisingly inexpensive for the area, and high quality food, high recommendation in the off months. When college is in full swing, however, it gets busy!!!

The Bagel Place is THE best place to get bagels in the area. But not just the bagels....their soups, muffins, and cream cheeses are incredible too!!The same guy has been working the bagel dough machine for 20+ yrs! And the staff are wonderful!

This was an awesome place. You can tell that this is a much-loved place by the locals, and its because they have been making a great product for a great price for a long time. Theyve got a great behind-the-counter lingo for a bagel/cream cheese combos: I had a Plain Every Toast which was a toasted Everything Bagel with plain cream cheese on it. So its not like its secret code or anything, just fun. Next time: Im getting an Old Bay Bagel. Oh, Maryland... are you like this all the time? Dont ever change.

Amazing bagels, both in dozens and prepared. Day old bagels are crazy cheap. Has a rewards card that is worth it if you get lots of bagels. Been getting a dozen bagels every week for the past 14 years!!! Consistent great quality. Their cream cheese is super yummy too.

This is an institution in College Park. Despite another spot moving in down the road I think that their breakfast sandwiches are much better here. If I had to name one downside if would be the weird separation of the coffee stand from the main food ordering counter. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge so expect to possibly walk from a lot around the corner.

First time here ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese it was good, but not great. Second time I ordered a cinnamon sugar bagel with strawberry cream cheese and let me tell you it was glorious. The cinnamon sugar bagel is the way to go! It was like my taste buds were singing the Victory Song all over my tongue. Also, their chicken salad is great too on a toasted bagel.

I love the day old bagels deal, but I really wish they were labeled. I love cinnamon raisin bagels and went there to get some today and accidentally went home with chocolate 😕

I love the bagel place! This is the best place to go in College Park for excellent bagels in sandwiches and soup. My favorite is the everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese and sausage. Another favorite of mine is the spinach melt. With provolone cheese and scallion cream cheese again on the everything bagel. I also quite enjoy their chili. It is tasty and delicious. The tomato soup is well is good too! I really love supporting the local shop that is not a chain. One of the true College Park oldie but a goodie.

I got a cinnamon bagel and side of bacon. Both were very good. Streetparking has meters. I put a dime in for 8min...needed a little more time, but made it out just in time as the meter reader was walking toward my car..whew...no ticket this time.

Inexpensive, unpretentious, and the best bagels in the whole Route One corridor from the DC boundary up to Howard County, MD. Try the Old Bay bagel with egg and cheddar if youre in the mood for a little spice. They also have great locally roasted coffee and an espresso bar. Also you can get a half dozen day old bagels for $3 or so. If you havent been, go.

Come here for breakfast often. Ive probably tried all of their bagel sandwiches and they are all delicious. Service is quick, unless you get there during their morning rush hour (before 930a). Coming from NY it is tough to find a good bagel in the MD, DC, VA area, but Bagel Place is excellent. I have been coming to Bagel Place in College Park for over 10 years and the bagels are so good that I will even tolerate waiting in long lines full of hungover college kids on a Saturday/Sunday morning.

Delicious bagels, and the large iced coffee was a generous size coffee that is better than starbucks for half the price. Ill be back for sure, and probably frequently. Only heads up is to bring coins bc parking meters in the lot are coin only for some reason. Thankfully I didnt get ticketed.

There is a separate coffee bar and then the main bagel sandwiches counter. My bagel was delicious and so was my latte. The service was friendly and quick. The parking was a bit of a pain, Id avoid driving if possible. Will be back when Im in the area!

This place had the better rating of the 2 nearby non-fast food style places so we came to check it out. Defy definitely deserves its stars. Very good bagel and very friendly service.

Generally speaking, College Park is a culinary wasteland. Luckily, you can at least get very nice bagels at the Bagel Place, the toppings, including numerous sweet and savoury cream cheeses are good as well. Day old bagels go by the bag for a song. In NYC this place would be nothing special, in CP its a life saver.

Ok... So I live in the area and like the idea of supporting a local business... particularly a non-chain breakfast joint ... as we have very few in the immediate area... So I really wanted to give them 5 stars...But there are a couple things preventing me from doing that... but I will try to give a balanced review.... pros and cons...The Pros....1. Great bagels made right in the shop.... even the day olds are good2. nice selection of sandwiches... their bagel club rocks !!!3. Really good selection of VERY GOOD cream cheeses.4. Friendly owner and staff.5. Recent renovations inside are nice.6. I like that you can see all the bagel making equipment and at times watch them actually making the bagels7. Easy parking if you get there before 8:00 am( after 8:00 on the weekends it gets tough)8. The rewards card is great... Ive earned many a free dozen bagels !9. They open at 6:30 am every morning.10. My co-workers rave about their bagels as well !The Cons...1. Not a fan of their coffee ! The Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company they use... I know that is personal preference so others may like it !2. Im an egg sandwich guy and I have two complaints about their breakfast sandwiches... First they microwave their eggs which makes them taste very rubbery and bland... again, personal preference. Secondly they need to invest in a new toaster. I tend to get my egg sandwich on toasted multi-grain bread... If you ask for it toasted the bread comes back very under toasted .... and when you ask for it double toasted it is usually burned. So it might be time for a new toaster !but besides those two issues a great local breakfast establishment and I would highly recommend you checking them out !
